Objective To investigate the influence of SDG on blood glucose and blood lipid concentrates of middle and old aged patients. Methods The impacts of SDG on blood glucose and blood lipid concentrates in body of patients with hyperglycemia were conducted through an 8-week random and double-blind experiments with controlled group only given placebo. The influence degree of SDG on blood glucose and blood lipid concentrates of the selected patients was analyzed. Results The results showed that serum glucose of the groups received 400mg/d of dietary SDG for 8 weeks or 600 mg/d for 4 weeks decreased significantly compared with the controlled group (P<0.05). Conclusion Giving either 400 mg/d of dietary SDG for 8 weeks or 600 mg/d for 4 weeks to patients could significantly decrease the serum glucose concentrates of them.

Objective To observe the action of Rhodiola Crenulate(RC) oral liquid reproduction function for the male rats. Methods 100 SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups with equal gender number respectively. The male rats were given RC oral liquid (0, 2.48 g/kg, 7.48 g/kg, 24.80 g/kg) and Nanbao (2.00 g/kg)by oral twice a day for 48 d, respectively. Then the male rat was put into the same box in which the female rat whit two-side ovarys were excised for 15 d, respectively. The intercoursing ability, testosterone levels, and the weight of immune organs of the male rats were examined. 40 four-week-old rats were divided into 5 groups. Except for blank control, all rats's testis were excised. The castrated rats were treated with RC oral liquid (2.48 g/kg, 24.8 g/kg)and Methyltestosterone (2.00 mg/kg). The blank control group and model control group were given the same dose NS by oral twice a day for 28 d, respectively. The weight of accessory sex organs in castrated rats was observed. Results The level of testosterone and the organ coefficients of thymus and spleen in RC oral liquid groups were higher than blank control (P<0.05 or P<0.01).The weight of accessory sex organs of castrated rats in RC oral liquid groups were heavier than model control (P<0.05). Conclusion RC oral liquid can improve the reproduction function in male rats.

Objective To study the topical application of Tuhuai decoction and its disassembled prescriptions on skin function of mice with epidermal hyperplasia, and to provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of psoriasis. Methods According to the Denda method, skin barrier function in mice was destructed with tape, to produce epidermal hyperplasia model. Tuhuai decoction and its disassembled prescriptions with different concentrations of water and alcohol extracts were external applied on the mice. Since the beginning of the treatment, loss of skin moisture of both sides the trunk was detected with Multi-functional instrument at every day before using the medicine. Results Tuhuai decoction had function of reducing the amount of water loss of skin. The disassembled prescriptions, such as Angelica group, safflower group, Danshen root group, and water and ethanol extracts of Prtmella group can reduce the amount of water loss of skin effect. Conclusion Water and ethanol extracts of Tuhuai decoction has the functions of reducing water loss of skin and resisting hyperplasia, suitable for treating psoriasis by external application, setting a foundation for clinical treatment of psoriasis.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Xuebijing combined with corticosteroid injection treating paraquat poisoning with regression analysis. Methods 146 patients of paraquat poisoning in 3 years were divided into two groups: control group and therapeutic group. 50 patients in the control group were treated with Methylprednisolone, while 96 patients in the therapeutic group were treated with Xuebijing injection (300~400 ml/d, intravenous drip) and Methylprednisolone. The patients' clinical symptoms, signs and the levels of white blood cell (WBC), Neutrophils (N), C-reactive protein (CRP), glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), serum creatinine (Scr) and arterial partial pressure of oxygen were collected. And patients did chest CT examinations every three days. All the data were compared between the two groups. Results ① The biochemical indicators of the control group in the 14th day [WBC,N,CRP, and PaO2 is (16.49±4.30), (84.22±21.07), (24.58±7.06), and (83.20±22.95) respectively]were better than those in the third day[WBC, N, CRP, and PaO2 is (19.21 ±5.34), (85.04± 12.33), (27.98±6.51), and (73.42±11.43)respectively], but there was not significant difference between them(P>0.05). While the biochemical indicators of the therapeutic group in the 14th day [WBC,N, CRP, and PaO2 is (9.16 ± 3.23 ), (70.48 ± 10.79), ( 17.48 ± 4.7), and (95.04± 11.93) respectively] were much better than those in the third day [WBC,N,CRP, and PaO2 is (16.96±9.95),(84.82±9.34), (27.34± 10.03), and (89.12±9.47) respectively], and there was significant difference between them( P< 0.05 ). ② The survival rate in the control group was 32% comparing to 67.71% in the therapeutic group, showing significant difference between the two group (x2=9.588, P<0.05) . ③ The patients' chest CT examinations in the therapeutic group were better than those in the control group. Conclusion Xuebijing injection combined with methylprednisolone had good effects m treating paraquat poisoning.

Daming SU ; Wanxin LI

International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine.2011;33(1):40-43. doi:10.3760/cma.j.issn.1673-4246.2011.01.016

The statistical data on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has not been fully exploited, resulting in the gap between the storage and usage of the TCM statistical data resources. The study on the retrospective collection, arrangement and application of Traditional Chinese Medicine Statistical Data aims to enhance the usage of TCM statistical data, basing on the collection and arrangement of the authoritative TCM statistical data, common analysis of the TCM statistical data from the founding of the People Republic of China.A pilot TCM Statistics Information Database and a TCM Health Statistics Data Query System have been established with the computer database technology, the object-oriented programming tool (C#) and the Internet Browser-based presentation programming tool (ASP. Net), providing the initial functions of the data retrieval and the graphical presentation of the search results on TCM statistics data. This paper explores "statistical data-oriented with attributes description" as the idea to establish the statistical database of complex statistical data, with the solution of the data problems such as numerous of data, diverse of data units, lack of regularity and hard to be classified. The study realizes the building of TCM Statistics Information Database and the retrieval finction of TCM statistical data, which lays a foundation on the building of Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Statistics Database and the information services of TCM statistics data in the future.
