Integrated backscatter of kidney in rabbits with different dosage poisoning

Objective: To explore the value of integrated backscatter(IBS) of kidney with different dosage of organophosphorus in rabbits. Methods: Animal models of organophosphorus poisoning were established. Ultrasonographic examinations were performed on four different dosage experimental groups and control group at 1h and 3 h after rabbits being poisoned.The echo and the size of kidney were evaluated by two-dimensional ultrasound.The changes of parenchyma were quantitatively analyzed by IBS.Results: No significant changes were found in kidney echo of any groups.With the increasing dosage and prolonging time of poisoning,significant changes were found in volume and length of kidneys comparing with that of control group(P

The effect of transcription factor SP1 decoy oligodeoxynucleotides on expression of ? Gal in SV-40-PED cells

Objective:To investigate the role of transcription factor SP1 decoy oligodeoxynucleotides(ODN) on expression of ? Gal in SV-40-PED cells.Methods:Immortalized porcine aortic endothelial cells of the PED line were cultured and transfected with ?1,3galactosyltransferase(?1,3GT) specific decoy ODN.Cells transfected with mismatch ODN was used as negative controls.Twenty-six hours later the cells were collected.The expression of ? Gal was determined with fluorescence microscope and Western blot.The expression of ?1,3GT mRNA was examined by RT-PCR.Results:Fluorescence microscopy observed the decreased fluorescence of ? Gal after decoy ODN transfection.Western blot showed that the average absorbance of the PED cells transfected with decoy ODNs was(48.2?0.9).It is 52.6% of the mock group(P0.05).Conclusion:?1,3GT gene reduce actually occurs following transfection of decoy ODN.Porcine endothelial cells can be the targets of decoy ODN.

Comparision of the effects between estrogen and dehydroepiandrosterone on improving atherosclerosis of ovariectomized rabbits

Objective:To compare the effects between estrogen and Prasterone(Dehydroepiandrosterone,DHEA) on improving atherosclerosis of ovariectomized rabbits. Methods: Thirty female New Zealand white rabbits of three months old were randomly divided into five groups: Group A: normal control;Group B: sham operation + high cholesterol feeding;Group C: ovariectomized + high cholesterol feeding;Group D: ovariectomized + high cholesterol feeding+ estradiol benzoate;Group E: ovariectomized + high cholesterol feeding+ DHEA.Twelve weeks later,all rabbits were sacrificed,the serum TC,TG,LDL-C,HDL-C,NO and estradiol levels were measured.The aortas and uterus were harvested for histomorphometrical evaluation with light and scanning electron microscope.The area ratios of atherosclerotic lesion to endothelium,and the thickness and area ratios of endothelium to the medium were determined by computer. Results: ①Following the treatment for 12 weeks,no significant difference was found in serum TC、LDL-C、HDL-C levels among four groups except in group A.②There were significant differences between the serum triglyceride(TC)levels of group D and group C.③The serum No levels of group D and group E were significantly higher than that of groupC.④The serum estradiol levels of group D and group E were significantly higher than that of groupC.⑤The area ratios of atherosclerotic lesion to endothelium and the thickness and area ratios of endothelium to the medium in group D and group E were significantly lower than that of group C.⑥Endometrial hyperplasia of group D was significant,while there was no such Phenomena in group E. Conclusion: Estrogen and DHEA can alleviate the early pathological changes of atherosclerosis of the ovariectomized rabbits,prevent and reduce the formation of atherosclerosis.

Traditional Chinese medicine and physical therapy on lumbar intervertebral disc herniation:clinical analysis of 86 cases

Objective:Currently the treatment model of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation(LIDH) has changed from single surgical treatment to multisubjective comprehensive treatment.The purpose of this study was to observe the curative effect of synergic therapy with traditional Chinese medicine and physical therapy on LIDH.Methods:86 cases of LIDH treated with drawing,massage,Chinese herbal medicine injection and TDP radiation.Results:All the patients were followed for 1-7 months(mean 3 months).Convalescence 56 cases(65.1 %),effective 28 cases(32.6 %),no effect 2 cases(2.3 %),the total effective rate was 97.7%.Conclusion:The synergic therapy with traditional Chinese medicine and physical therapy was easy,safe and effective for LIDH.

Expression of epidermal growth factor receptor and cell proliferative protein in thymic carcinoma and type-B3 thymoma

Objective:To investigate the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR),survivin,P53 protein and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) in thymic carcinoma and type-B3 thymoma. Methods:The clinicopathological changes of thymic carcinoma in 9 cases and of type-B3 thymoma(well differentiated thymic carcinoma) in 21 cases were examined by microscopic observation of immunohistochemical stained EGFR,survivin,P53 protein and PCNA,respectively. Results:Clinically,the median age of the patients with the tumor was 43.5 years old.All the tumors displayed a pattern of infiltration growth.Immunohistochemical staining of the tumors indicated that the expressions of EGFR,survivin,P53 protein and PCNA in thymic carcinoma were 77.8%(7/9),88.8%(8/9),77.8%(7/9) and 100%(9/9),respectively.Meanwhile,in type-B3 thymoma,they were 67.7%(14/21),71.4%(15/21),33.3%(7/21) and 85.7%(18/21),respectively.It was statistically significant that the immunohistochemical phenotypes of the tumor displayed a different reaction for P53 protein. Conclusion:The thymic carcinoma and type-B3 thymoma may possess a complete invasive characteristic,clinically.To discriminate thymic carcinoma and type-B3 thymoma,the expression of P53 protein is a more valuable index than EGFR,survivin or PCNA.

Therapeutic effects of ultrasound irradiation microbubble agent in thetreatment of subcutaneous H22 hepatoma of mice

Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effects of ultrasound irradiation microbubble agent in the treatment of subcutaneous H22 ascites cells hepatoma of mice.Methods:H22 ascites cells hepatoma models were established by inoculating tumor cells to subcutaneous tissue of mice.Then,mice were randomly allocated into control group,only ultrasound group,ultrasound and microbubble group.The growth of tumor volume was observed and its weight was calculated.The application of pathological examination was adopted after the treatment.The necrosis area percentage(NAP) was calculated.and the apoptotic index was analyzed with terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end lebeling(TUNEL) technique.Results:Compared with the control,the growth of tumor in the ultrasound and microbubble group was slow and the inhibitory effect of tumor was obvious;Necrosis area and apoptotic cells number were also increased obviously(P

Non-invasive monitoring of acute rejection after heart transplantation

Heart transplantation(HT) has been an effective method to treat end-stage heart disease, one main factor affecting the long-term survival rate is acute and/or chronic rejection after HT. Trans internal jugular endomyocardial biopsy(EMB) has been the "gold standard" to judge the rejection after HT, but it is also limited. Electrocardiogram ,echocardiogram, immunological monitoring and imaging monitoring can judge the rejection after HT and induce the EMB.

Research progress of correlation between NF-?B and CPB

Nuclear factor kappa B(NF-?B) is an important transcription factor in the expression of many inflammatory media. With the recent progress of molecular biological technique, the modulated mechanism of NF-?B in immunity, stress, inflammatory responses, and the differentiation and growth of lymphocyte has been the focus. This review presents the role of NF-?B in ischemia-reperfusion and cardiopulmonary bypass, and the research progression of intervention therapy in inhibition of the activation of NF-?B is also introduced herein after.
