Lei WU ; Shu LI

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine.2013;(11):16-18,19. doi:10.3969/j.issn.1005-5304.2013.11.007

Objective To explore the key elements in prescription and summarize the law of prescription-herb treatment, to find core herbs/herb group which play a key role in pharmacological effects, then provide new methods and modern techniques for theory of prescription development and TCM clinical research. Methods The text data sources of stroke disease were retrieved from databases of traditonal Chinese prescription. After pre-processing and information extraction, a prescription-herb matrix was constructed, and then biclustering method was used to simultaneous clustering two dimensions of data. Results Totally 648 effective records were gained after preprocessing, and 6913 herbs were extracted, then a 100×648 prescription-herb matrix was generated. Finally 4-way clustering results were output, along with 8 high descriptive prescriptions, then characteristics of prescription laws of diagnosis and treatment according different syndrome and various types of herbs commonly used were summarized. Conclusion This method can be well applied for prescription-herb knowledge discovery in TCM prescription databases. The prescription-herb information can be effectively extracted, and laws of prescription-herb and syndrome-treament can be mined.

Shan CHEN ; Yun WANG

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine.2013;(8):23-25,26. doi:10.3969/j.issn.1005-5304.2013.08.009

Objective To explore the anti-cancer function of old drugs from the perspective of the concept of Chinese herbal nature combination, and provide method and a new thinking style for the new function discovery from old drugs under the guidance of the theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Methods Using lung cancer with qi and yin deficiency as the example, the therapeutic principles of TCM anti-lung cancer treatment were analyzed and Chinese herbal nature combination patterns (CHNCP) for cancer treatment were extracted based on the relationship between function and Chinese herbal nature combination. The chemical medicines were re-screened with the cancer CHNCP and the candidates were identified. Results The therapeutic principle of TCM anti-lung cancer treatment is invigorating qi and nourishing yin. Fifteen chemical medicines were identified as the anti-cancer candidates, including 2 anti-cancer drugs being used in clinics and 4 drugs having the anti-cancer activity. Conclusion The method for finding the anti-cancer function of old drugs based on the Chinese herbal nature combination is feasiable, which provide new clues for application of old drugs.

Shan HUANG ; Feng CHEN ; Liwei GUO

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine.2006;0(01):-.

Objective To choose the bestway of extracting procedure of Rhizoma corydalis. Methods The optimal extraction process is selected with the orthogonal design. The content of corydalis B and the yield of extracts were used to evaluate the factor levels. Results The ideal extraction process is:extracted with 75% alcohol for 2 times, first 6 times amount, soaked 0.5 h, refluxed 1.5 h, then 4 times amount, refluxed 1.5 h. Conclusions This extractive condition is the best way.

Shengjin LIU ; Liuqing DI ; Dekang WU

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine.2006;0(01):-.

Objective The methods for determination of Chlorogenic Acid(CA) in Eucommia ulmodies Oliv were established and determinated the content of CA. Extract solvent, method, time and times were studied and HPLC method for determination was used. Methods The HPLC system consisted of the column of Lichrospher C18 (4.6 mm?250 mm, 5 ?m) and acetonitrtle-water-phosphoric acid (13∶86.5∶ 0.5) as the mobile phase. The temperature was 25℃. The detective wavelength was 327nm. The flow rate was 0.8 mL/min. External standard method was used. Results The powder of eucommia was extracted twice with 60%methanol-water solution at 100 ℃, the first time for 1.5 h,the second for 0.5 h was the optimum one. The method was linear within the range of 2.22?10-2~55.40?10-2 ?g, the average recovery was 99.55%, and the RSD was 1.98% (n =6). Conclusion The method is simple, sensitive and highly reproductive, and it is suitable for ananlysis of CA in Eucommia ulmodies Oliv.

Huangying TAN ; Fuyun GAO ; Jian CUI

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine.2006;0(01):-.

Objective To study and evaluate the effects of Kanglaite Injection (KLT) in rat model of cancer pain. Methods According to Medhurst' method, a rat model of cancer-induced bone pain wasestablished by intra-tibial injection of 3?103 MRMT-1 rat mammary gland carcinomal cells in Sprague-Dawley rats. KLT group were treated with 10 mL/kg of KLT, ip, twice daily from day 8 to day 17 after injection of MRMT-1 cells. In celecoxib group, 30 mg/kg, ig, twice daily for 10 days. NS group and sham group were given with 10 mL/kg of NS, ip, twice daily for 10 days. On day 17, rats in morphine group received a single administration of 3 mg/kg morphine. Pain-related behaviors including allodynia (the hind paw withdrawal response to 2 g von Frey filament stimulation) and the difference of weight bearing between hind paws were measured in all 5 groups on day 17. In addition, the left hind limbs were removed and X-rays were obtained for assessing of tumor-induced bone destruction. Results On day 17 after injection of MRMT-1 cells or NS, the paw withdrawal response frequency to 2 g von Frey filament stimulation on the left paw in KLT group, celecoxib group, morphine group and NS group were 53.3%?20.7%, 46.7%?20.7%, 13.3%?16.3% and 90% ?16.7%, respectively. The paw withdrawal response frequency in KLT group was significantly decreased compared with that in NS group (P
