Analysis of the Autoantibodies against AT1 Receptor and ?1 Receptor in Chronic Glomerulonephritis with Renal Failure

Objective To explore the role of the autoantibodies against angiotensin Ⅱtype 1 receptor(AT1-receptor) and ?1-adrenergic receptor(?1-receptor)in the development of chronic glomerulonephritis(CGN) with renal failure.Methods The epitopes of the second extracellular loop of AT1 receptor(165-191),?1 receptor(192-21),M2 receptor(169-191) were synthesized and used respectively to screen sera autoantibodies from patients with chronic renal failure(n=66),hypertension without renal failure(n=58) and healthy blood donors(n=40,control) by ELISA.Results In patients of chronic glomerulonephritis with renal failure,the positive rates of the autoantibodies against AT1-receptor and ?1-receptor were 56.1% and 53.0% respectively.The positive rates were all higher than those in patients of the hypertension without renal failure(the positive rates were 15.5% and 12.1%,respectively) and in the healthy donors(10% and 12.5%,respectively)(P

The Value of fPSA/tPSA Ratio in Differential Diagnosis of Prostate Cancer

0.05),but the ratio of fPSA/tPSA in PC group was very lower than that in BPH group(P20.0 ?g/L,the sensitivity and the specificity was 91.6%(22/24) and 87.5%(21/24).Conclusion It can improve the differential diagnosis between PC and BPH to use the ratio of fPSA/tPSA combining with the serum tPSA.It is important for the observation of the differential diagnosis and the therapeutic effects of PC and the preparation of the high risk persons and etc.

Study on Susceptible Factors for Smoking among Doctors in Henan

Objectives To understand the susceptible factors for tobacco use among doctors in Henan province.Methods A random multilevel cluster sampling method was conducted.2 990 subjects were studied with an inquiry and self-reported questionnaire.Results The total smoking rate was 27.5%.The current smoking rate was 22.3%.Daily smoking rate was 13.3%.The main reasons for smoking were social needs,pressure relief,getting refreshing.About 21.4% subjects smoked in front of patients.Majority doctors understood the relationship between smoking and some diseases.The multivariate analysis showed that the doctors'smoking behavior was related with his gender,age,education background,monthly revenue,working section,hospital administration level,knowledge scale of tobacco being harmful on health,knowledge scale on the relationship between smoking and illness,doctors'social norm attitude for smoking.Conclusions The smoking behavior of doctors was complex,which was related to personal,social environment factors.Only comprehensive smoking prevention interventions could be stressed to produce lasting behavior change.

A Case-control Study on Risk Factors for Chronic Gastritis in Yuhang District,Hangzhou

Objective To explore the risk factors for chronic gastritis in Yuhang district,Hangzhou.Methods All cases came from the population involved in screening for upper gastrointestinal tract diseases in 2002 and were diagnosed by histopathology.The controls were chosen in residents of the same village who had no stomach disease history and dyspeptic symptoms.All subjects were investigated with a questionnaire by interviewers on their lifestyle and health condition.Results The odds ratios of smoking,the family history of chronic gastritis,drinking,sleep quality,oral debris,regular dining,drinking tea and the intake of beans & bean products were 3.012,2.343,1.438,1.384,1.283,0.418,0.603 and 0.809,respectively.Foods taste also took significant effect on chronic gastritis.The odds ratios of sour foods,spicy foods,salty foods and sweet foods were 2.72,2.33,2.22 and 2.06,respectively.Conclusions The risk factors for chronic gastritis were smoking,family history of chronic gastritis,heavy drinking,sleep quality,oral debris,foods flavor.While regularly dining,properly drinking tea and intake of beans and bean products were protective factors.

The Effect of Community-based Integrative Intervention on Hypertension in Guangzhou

Objective To Analyze the effect of community-based integrative intervention on hypertension.Methods Among six residential areas,randomly chose four as the intervention group and the another two as the control group.Then a synthetical intervention was carried out to the intervention group,but no measures to the control.Results In the intervention group,the patients' systolic and diastolic pressure were eventually lower by 5.25 mm Hg than the datum line.The final result was obviously different from the datum line(P0.05).Conclusion The community-based integrated intervention plays a great role in the control of high blood pressure.

The Study on Apolipoprotein E Gene Polymorphism Characteristics of Cerebral Infarction and Intracerebral Hemorrhage

Survey on the Relation between Metabolic Syndrome and Insulin Resistance of Dwellers in Wulian County,Shandong

Objective To investigate the status of metabolic syndrome(MS),chronic metabolic disease and insulin resistance(IR) in dwellers over twenty years old in Wulian County,Shandong province.Method 2 127 dwellers over twenty years old were investigated in three towns with multistage stratified sampling and cross sectional methods.Questionnaire was delivered to all the subjects,while physical examination and biochemical test were carried out.Result The prevalent rate of chronic metabolic diseases in dwellers over twenty years old in Wulian County was 64.34%.The prevalent rate of overweight/obesity,diabetes,hypertension and hyperlipemia were 36.24%,3.24%,38.98% and 31.26,respectively.The prevalence of MS having more than three above diseases was 7.9%.The prevalent rate of IR in obesity,diabetes,hypertension,dyslipidemia and MS patients were 43.34%,78.26%,29.79%,33.23% and 64.28%,respectively.Conclusion Near two-thirds of the dwellers over twenty years old in Wulian suffered chronic metabolic disease.IR was common in MS and chronic metabolic disease,especially in diabetes and MS.

Correlation of Membrane Glycoprotein PC-1 Gene Polymorphism with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Insulin Resistance

Objective To explore the relationship of the K121Q polymorphism of membrane glycoprotein PC-1 gene with the features of insulin resistance(IR) and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods The K121Q polymorphism in exon 4 of PC-1 gene were determined with the technique of polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP) in 133 patients with T2DM and 108 controls with normal glucose tolerance(NGT) in Shenzhen city.The clinical and laboratory data were also compared between type 2 diabetic patients with different genotypes.Results No statistically significant differences were observed in the genotype and allele frequencies between the control and the T2DM subjects.The concentrations of fasting plasma glucose(FPG),triglycerides(TG) and C-peptide were higher in T2DM patients with KQ genotype than with KK genotype(P

Genetic Epidemiological Study on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Objective To study the effect of the genetic factors on the occurrence and development of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) and its general genetic pattern.Methods 21 T2DM cases,as proband,were investigated for T2DM genealogical tree.The heritability of T2DM was estimated by Falconer method.T2DM segregation rate and genetic pattern were evaluated with Penrose's method,Li-Mantel-Gart method and the threshold value model method of Jiang San-Duo.Results The prevalent rate of T2DM in first-degree relatives was 7.6%,which was higher than that in general population.The heritability of T2DM was 46.8%.The s/q score was 3.312 with Penrose's method,which was near to 1/q1/2.The segregation rate P was 0.131,which was lower than 0.25.The theoretical prevalent rate in first relatives was 8.0%,while the investigated prevalent rate was 7.6%.Conclusion There is an obvious heritable trend in T2DM.It is fit to the multi-factorial inheritance pattern but the mono-gene heritability model.

The Descriptive Analysis of Exercise Participation of Residents in China

Objective To describe the exercise participation of residents in China,and to provide the scientific basis for developing intervention strategies.Method The data of 2002 China National Nutrition and Health Survey was used for the analysis.66 682 subjects(male 32 287,female 34 395) aged 6 years and above were involved.Results The overall rate of exercise participation of people in China was 15.7%,while that of urban residents(27.5%) was higher than that of the rural counterparts(11.1%).of all age-groups,18~years group had the lowest rate of exercise participation.8.0% people engaged in regular exercise while 7.7% people in occasional exercise.More urban residents(16.8%) engaged in regular exercise than their rural counterparts did(4.5%).The rates of regular exercise of residents in 6~years and 13~years groups were lower than those of occasional exercise,but the rates of regular exercise of people in 18~yrs,45~yrs and over 60~yrs groups were higher than those of occasional exercise.The types of exercise varied obviously among different age groups.Conclusion The rate of exercise participation of people in China is quite low.The guideline for physical activity of different target population in China should be developed in order to improve their participating rate of exercise and improve their health.
