Intracerebral Microdialysis in Clinical Practice

Pekka Mellergard ; Carl-Henrik Nordstrom

Journal of Kunming Medical University.2000;21(1):29-33.

We have used the microdialysis equipment described above since more than 4 years and performed more than 100.000 bedside biochemical analyses in more than 100 patients. The ordinary nurses and assistant nurses have performed all the biochemical analyses bedside. No complications or side effects have been observed.This report shows that intracerebral microdialysis with bedside biochemical analyses (glucose,pyruvate,lactate,glycerol,glutamate,and urea) can be performed as a routine procedure during neurosurgical operations and neuro intensive care. The technique and instrumentation presented are standardized and will allow comparison of data from different centers. The normal values for the metabolites here described will serve as reference values for the interpretation of the changes observed during microdialysis in patients with traumatic brain injury or hemorrhage.

Shi-Yun CHENG ; Jing-Yu XIE ;

Journal of Kunming Medical University.1986;0(04):-.

The influence of Chang-Bai Xin kui(长白新圭) on the acid ?-naPhthyl acetate esterase(ANAE) positive lymphocytes was studied by using ANAE as a cytochemical marker.S180 cells ef ascites tumor were inoculated into the mice in experimental and control group. 3 days later, 0.8mg/0.2ml of Chang-Bai Xin Kni was injected peritoneally into the mice in experimental group everyday in 7 days. Eaeh of the two groups has its own self control.The experimental results show that there is no significant differences in total numbar of ANAE positive lymphoctes between the two groups and all self-controls.But after 7 days of injecting the drug, the granular pattern and scattered granular pattern of lymphoctes were increased significantly(P

Studies on Antithrombotic and Vasodilating Effects of Tongmai Wan Injectio

Linxian LI ; Yingying LI ;

Journal of Kunming Medical University.1989;0(01):-.

Arterial thrombosis was produced in rats by the electric stimulation of the common carotid artery. Tongmai Wan injections were given at a dosage level of 1mi/100g to the experimental group, and the control group was given normal saline. The results showed that the duration from the electric stimulation of the common carotid artery to the occurrence of obstructive thrombosis in the experimental groups (38.00?4.35min, 38.67?3.8min) was much longer than that in the control groups (23.00?3.67min, 23.00?3.00 min),p

Investigation on Candida Carrier Rate of Healthy Infants and Juveniles of Han,Dai and Zang Nationalities

Zhenwen WANG ; Zhaoping LU ;

Journal of Kunming Medical University.1988;0(03):-.

In this paper,the candida carrier rate of 1996 healthy infants and juveniles of the Han,Dai and Zang nationalities was reported.The specimens were taken from the tongue,cheek mucosa,stool,urine,finger web and vagina.The carrier rate of C.albicans in the mouth was significantly higher than that in the other regions. C.albicans at the tongue of the Han,Dai and Zang people was 4.5%,5.3%, 1.07% respectively.Therefore,C.albicans' residence in the mouth was probably an important source of the internal infection of candidiasis.Of the 1996 healthy individuals none had C.albicans isolated from the urine.The carrier rate of C. albicans isolated from the vagina was only 0.15% in the Han and zero in the Dai and Zang.The carrier rate of candida was least in the newborn.Our data also suggested that the carrier rate of candida at the tongue was much higher than that at the cheek mucosa.Regard must be paid when isolating fungi from the mouth.

A Survey of Biological and Serological Type of Bacillus Cereus and Its Resistance to Some Antibiotics in 5 Kinds of Food in the Kunming Area

Jingfang ZHANG ; Xiaoling LI ;

Journal of Kunming Medical University.1988;0(03):-.

The food poisoning caused by Bacillus cereus occurs in Kunming or Yunnan Province sometimes.The aim of our survey is to prevent and control this kind of food poi- soning in the future.The result shows that the positive rate is 19.20% and the degree of contamination differs in the different kinds of food,the dairy products being contaminated most seriously of all.The bacteria in the contaminated food number mostly 10~2~10~4 per gram,Though it is not very high,the presence of Bacillus cereus is so wide that we showld pay much attention to it. Abut 97.65% of Bacillus cereus can be biologically classified and the most com- mon types are 2,8 and 10.About 92.98% of Bacillus cereus can be classified according to the serological type,and type 3 is the most predominant one and type 1 the second.In the dairy products,biological types 2 and 8 make up 54.55% and serological type 1 36.36%. The bacteria isolated from the food are highly sensitive to erythromycin,chlor- amphenicol,gcntamycin,streptomycin and kanamycin.

Clinical Investigation of Concentration of Lidocaine in Intravenous Combining Anesthesia with GaS Chromatography

Zhiqing MO ; Guangyu ZHAO ; Lifang CHEN ; Xian KUANG ; Lu ZHANG ; Xuexian ZOU

Journal of Kunming Medical University.1988;0(03):-.

The purpose of this paper was to find a safe and effective concentration of lido- caine in intravenous combining anesthesia.33 cases had been maintained with the intravenous instillation of 0.5% lidocaine and 0.1% scotine the lidocaine concentrations at the period of after introduction,30',60',90',120'and recovery were measured respectively.The safty and effective range of this drug would be 2.1—5?g/ml. Also,in this paper,the relationship between the rate of instilation and the concentration of Lidocaine was studied.There was a positive correlation between the drope per minute amd the concentration during the period of the first 60 minutes. After 90 minutes from the beginning,there was no linear correlation.If we want to maintain the safty and effective blood concentration(2.1—5?g/ml), the necessary rate of instillation is 46?10 drops/minute during the first 60 minutes and 27.8?5 drops/minute after 90 minutes.This result shows that lidocaine is easy to accumulate obviously in the body.If we want the patient to recover at the time of the operation just performed,we must stop this drug 50 miuutes before the operation is finished.

Application of Reserved Sclera to The Operation of Retinal Detachment

Yuchen ZHANG ; Jiabin YANG ;

Journal of Kunming Medical University.1986;0(04):-.

In this article,authers reported a method of keeping hetero-sclera as intra-sclera fillings and external Pad pressure. Based on the analysis and discussion of 153 eye cases, it is shown that there is no obvious relationship between the success of operations and the range of retinal detachment and the size of holes. The success,however.has a close bearing on the membrane formation. Among the 153 eye cases, 126 were cured which accounted for 82.4% while 27 cases failed, making up 17.6%. In the process of using foreing sclera, no complications,such as infection, sclera′s falling off or getting into the vitreous body,were found.
