Investigation and control of outbreak events of MRSA infection

Objective To study the causes, epidemiology and control measures of outbreak of MRSA nosocomial infections. Methods The epidemiologic survey was carried out for 7 cases infected with MRSA within short term in the department of neurosurgery. The risk factors and epidemiological trends was analyzed. Results Some measures, such as strengthening training of health worker with MRSA prevention and control knowledge, enhancing their awareness of infection prevention and control, and controlling patients infected with MRSA effectively using warning mechanisms of MRSA infection outbreaks, should be taken to control the outbreak and spread of MRSA promptly. Conclusions Nosocomial MRSA infection is preventable and controllable.

The relationship between work engagement and job-person fit among nurses

Objective To explore the relationship between work engagement and job-person fit among nurses.Methods 465 nurses from five first-class general hospitals in Chengdu were assessed by the Utrecht Work Engagement scale(UWES)and the Areas of Worklife Survey(AWS).Results The mean value of work engagement among nurses was (3.21±1.09).Work engagement and job-person fit were positively related.Regression analysis suggested that job-person fits were significant predictors of nurses'work engagement.Exactly,value fit,workload fit,control fit and fairness fit were effective predictors of vigor.Value fit,fairness fit,reward fit and workload fit were effective predictors of dedication.Value fit,control fit,fairness fit and community fit were effective predictors of absorption.Conclusions The work engagement in nurses was at the moderate level.Job-person fits were powerful predictors of work engagement.Good fit among the six areas of work life can improve the work engagement among nurses.

Nursing of subcutaneous hematoma of the chest wall after artificial femoral head replacement (a case report)

Objective To discuss the subcutaneous hematoma of the chest wall after artificial femoral head replacement in order to improve the prognosis of patients. Methods One patient complicated with subcutaneous hematoma of the chest wall after artificial femoral head replacement on October,2009.Aborative treatment and nursing was given and the treatment effect was observed. Results The hematoma and congestion were all absorbed after two weeks of treatment and nursing. Conclusions The nursing point of subcutaneous hematoma of the chest wall after artificial femoral head replacement includes monitoring of vital signs, drainage volume, identification of anemia feature, scrupulosly systemic observation and nursing of hematoma.

Analysis of the losing situation of nursing human resource in second-class and upwards hospital of Xinjiang

Objective To understand the internal structure,loss direction of loss nursing staff, compare the current condition of nurses loss between minorities and Han nationality nurses, analyze the relationship between nurse turnover intention and job satisfaction in second-class and upwards general hospital of Xinjiang. Methods Adopting stratified random method, nursing staff from 61 second-class and upwards general hospitals were selected to participate the questionnaire survey. Results Loss of nurses in Xinjiang increased year by year. Nurses with age under 35 years old, college education, employment and with primary titles were most vulnerable to loss. The turnover rate of nurses with Han nationality was higher than minority nurses. Income, occupational status, learning assistance services, opportunities for personal advancement and retirement benefits constituted negative correlation with turnover intention, among which income level was most related. Health care services, work scheduling arrangements and the components of job independence demonstrated no significant correlation. Conclusions To improve income level of nurses and increase working enthusiasm of nurses with higher education and employment nurses, especially nurses with Han nationality is an important means to reduce the loss of nurses.

Effect of YOGA relaxation on anxiety and somatic symptoms in patients with depression

Objective To explore the effects of YOGA relaxation on anxiety and somatic symptoms in patients with depression. Methods 60 inpatients with depression were ctegorized into the control group and the observation group with 30 cases in each group. HAMD scale were scored before and after medication (2,4,8 weeks). Results Before medication, there was no statistical differenoe between two groups in HAMD total score and subscores, but the difference was obvious in anxiety and somatic, sleep disturbance and hopelessness subscore at the end of the second and 4th week. Conclusions YOGA relaxation can improve anxiety emotion and somatic symptoms, enhance sleep quality in patients with depression.

Influence of cognition behavior intervention on negative self-concept and life quality of chronic heart failure patients

Objective To study the effect of cognitive behavior intervention on negative self-concept and life quality of chronic heart failure patients. Methods 128 cases of patients with chronic heart failure were divided into the observation group (63 cases) and the control group (65 cases).The control group were treated with cardiology common nursing, the observation group received cardiology common nursing with cognitive- behavioral therapy. Negative self-concept and life quality of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with the control group, the negative self-concept alleviated and life quality improved in the observation group. Conclusions Cardiology common nursing with cognitivebehavioral therapy can alleviate the negative emotion and improve the quality of life in patients with coronary heart disease.

Nursing research and monitoring of nosocomial infection related factors among respiratory department patients

Objective To analyze nosocomial infection related factors among respiratory department patients and discuss corresponding nursing measures. Methods Clinical data of 2142 patients with respiratory disease were analyzed retrospectively, the nosocomial infection associated risk factors were analyzed. Results 138 cases (6.4%)in 2142 patients suffered nosocomial infection, the related risk factors included age, the length of hospitalization time, whether having aggressive treatment or basic diseases of other system, whether used broad- spectrum antibiotics or chemotherapy drugs or hormone, etc. Conclusions Positive and effective treatment of primary disease, disinfection and isolation of ward, cutting off infection pathway, doing basic job, and keeping respiratory tract smooth were effective measures to reduce nosocomial infection.

Perioperative psychological nursing of living-related liver transplantation

Objective To study the effect of perioperative psychological nursing on living-related liver transplantation. Methods The following measures were adopted according to the donors' concrete condition: using nursing procedure in holistic nursing, to assess and determine the main problems in perioperative period, nurses mastered psychological nursing knowledge and skills in individualized psychological nursing, giving pertinent and individualized health education to patients in accordance with their psychological problems during the perioperative period. Results The donors could face the operation with good psychological state after being given fully-integrated and whole-system psychological nursing. Conclusions Psychological nursing is important for living-related liver transplantation during the perioperative period.

Study about early self-care ability in patients with colostomy and its influencing factors

Objective To describe the early self-care ability of patients after colostomy in order to explore its influencing factor. Methods 152 cases of colostomy patients who were admitted to hospitals above grade-two levels from Yiwu City of Zhejiang Province were selected to investigate their self-care ability from May 2008 to May 2010 by self care ability rating scale. Their self care ability was evaluated. Results The self-care ability score of the patients was( 101.31 ± 13.92), and it was related with the patients'age, education degree, income, self- perceived disease severity, length of stay. Conclusions Nurses should pay attention to early self-care ability of colostomy patients in order to improve the quality of life of patients.

Effects of individualized nursing on the negative mood and quality of life of patients with hemoptysis

Objective To study the effects of individualized nursing on the anxiety, depression mood, quality of life of patients with hemoptysis. Methods Sixty patients with hemoptysis were randomized into the intervention group and the control group with 25 cases in each. The control group received single conventional therapy while the intervention group was given individualized nursing intervention besides the conventional therapy. Using SDS, SAS and SF-36 Life Quality Measuring Scale to evaluate the effects of the patients in both groups on admission and prior to discharge. Results The scores of anxiety and depression among the intervention group were lower than those of the control group after intervention.The dimensions of quality of life besides the physical function and bodily pain in the intervention group were significantly different after intervention. Conclusions The individualized nursing intervention can improve quality of care, the state of anxiety, depression and the quality of life of patients with hemoptysis.
