Objective:
To evaluate the efficacy of a self-developed mobile augmented reality navigation system (MARNS) in guiding spinal level positioning during intraspinal tumor surgery based on a dual-error theory.
Methods:
This retrospective study enrolled patients diagnosed with intraspinal tumors admitted to Fujian Provincial Hospital between May and November 2023. The participants were divided into conventional x-rays and self-developed MARNS groups according to the localization methods they received. Position time, length of intraoperative incision variation, and location accuracy were systematically compared.
Results:
A total of 41 patients (19 males) with intraspinal tumors were included, and MARNS was applied to 21 patients. MARNS achieved successful lesion localization in all patients with an error of 0.38±0.12 cm. Compared to x-rays, MARNS significantly reduced positioning time (129.00±13.03 seconds vs. 365.00±60.43 seconds, p<0.001) and length of intraoperative incision variation (0.14 cm vs. 0.67 cm, p=0.009).
Conclusion
The self-developed MARNS, based on augmented reality technology for lesion visualization and perpendicular projection, offers a radiation-free complement to conventional x-rays.

6.Historical Evolution and Herbal Textual Research of Jupi Zhurutang

Jupi Zhurutang originated from Synopsis of the Golden Chamber (《金匮要略》), which consists of Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Caulis Bambusae in Taenia, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, Jujubae Fructus, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma and is used to treat retching. It has been put on the list of Catalogue of Ancient Classical Prescription (First Batch) released by National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. With the bibliometric method, we searched the medical classics containing Jupi Zhurutang and systematically examined the information on the origin of the prescription, the indications, compatibility rule, medicinals in the prescription, dosage and usage, processing method, and decocting method. It was found that there are many versions of Jupi Zhurutang, and there are common grounds of main symptoms, pathogenesis, composition and dosage between the same prescription with different names and different prescriptions with the same name. The prescription which is closest to the original version in Synopsis of the Golden Chamber is mainly used for the treatment of stomach deficiency and qi counterflow without obvious cold or heat. According to the weights and measures, ratio of Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Caulis Bambusae in Taenia, Radix Ginseng, Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens, and Radix Ginseng in Synopsis of the Golden Chamber is approximately 6∶2∶8∶5∶1. The Jupi Zhurutang derived from other ancient classics such as Yanshi Jisheng Fang(《严氏济生方》) is a different prescription for hiccups caused by the stomach heat, and the ratio of Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae to Caulis Bambusae in Taenia in this prescription is about 1∶1. It is also found that cold herbs such as Red Poria, Eriobotryae Folium and Ophiopogon Japonicus are added to the formula in later generations. Therefore, the Jupi Zhurutang used in modern times is mostly modified and different from that in Synopsis of the Golden Chamber. This study summarizes the historical evolution of Jupi Zhurutang and identifies the key information, with a view to providing a reference for the rational modification of this prescription in clinical settings and further research.
7.Advances in post-operative thyroid scar control

Postoperative thyroid scar not only causes itching, pain, and pulling, but also seriously affects the patient’s aesthetics, so it is important to study the prevention and treatment of postoperative thyroid scar. In the past 20 years, clinicians have made many innovative researches to alleviate postoperative thyroid scar growth, and the following progresses have been made: firstly, thyroid surgery methods and surgical accesses have been improved to a certain extent, resulting in more concealed and less traumatic accesses; secondly, the use of lasers and silicone and other drugs has significantly improved the scar treatment effect; thirdly, the concept of "cosmetic" is gradually gaining popularity, and related technical means are used throughout the treatment of postoperative scarring of the thyroid gland, and multiple treatment modalities are used "early" and "in combination" to "prevent" scar growth after surgery. The use of multiple treatment modalities to prevent scar growth in the early postoperative period has achieved twice the result with half the effort.
8.Effect of dexmedetomidine on intestinal barrier function in mice with traumatic brain injury and the role of Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway

Objective:To evaluate the effect of dexmedetomidine on intestinal barrier function in mice with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and the role of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)/heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) signaling pathway.Methods:Thirty ICR male wild-type (WT) and 30 Nrf2 knockout (Nrf2-KO) mice, aged 6-8 weeks, weighing 20-25 g, were divided into 3 groups ( n=10 each) using a random number table method: control group (group C), TBI group (group T) and TBI+ dexmedetomidine group (group T+ D). A 100 g of stainless steel impactor was used to produce a free fall acceleration strike on the head from 12 cm height in anesthetized animals.Dexmedetomidine 30 μg/kg was intraperitoneally injected at 30 min before TBI in group T+ D, while the equal volume of normal saline was given instead in C and TBI groups.The mouse bladder was emptied at 18 h after TBI, the test solution 200 μl containing 13.3 mg lactulose and 10.1 mg mannitol was given via a gastric tube.Urine was collected at 24 h after TBI, and the ratio of lactulose to mannitol was measured to estimate the intestinal barrier permeability.Blood samples were collected from heart to measure the concentration of lipopolysaccharide in plasma.Then the mice were sacrificed, and the tissues of ileum were collected to detect the contents of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), interleukin-1beta(IL-1β), IL-6 and 8-iso-prostaglandin F 2α (8-iso-PGF 2α) (by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), contents of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) (by hydroxylamine method and ammonium molybdate colorimetric method, respectively), content of malondialdehvde (MDA) (by thibabituric acid method), and expression of Nrf2 and HO-1 (by Western blot). Results:For WT mice Compared with group C, the intestinal barrier permeability, concentration of LPS in plasma, and contents of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, MDA and 8-iso-PGF 2α were significantly increased, the activities of intestinal CAT and SOD were decreased, and the expression of Nrf2 and HO-1 was up-regulated in T and T+ D groups ( P<0.05). Compared with group T, the intestinal barrier permeability, concentration of LPS in plasma, and contents of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, MDA and 8-iso-PGF 2α were significantly decreased, the activities of intestinal CAT and SOD were increased, and the expression of Nrf2 and HO-1 was up-regulated in group T+ D ( P<0.05). For Nrf2-KO mice Compared with group C, the intestinal barrier permeability, concentration of LPS in plasma, and contents of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, MDA and 8-iso-PGF 2α were significantly increased, and no significant change was found in the activities of intestinal CAT and SOD in T and T+ D groups( P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the expression of HO-1 among the three groups ( P>0.05). Conclusion:Dexmedetomidine can improve the intestinal barrier dysfunction in mice with TBI, and the mechanism is related to activating Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway.
9.UPLC characteristic fingerprint and chemical pattern recognition of Angong Niuhuang Pills.

To establish the UPLC fingerprint of Zhongyi Angong Niuhuang Pills, in order to evaluate its quality by chemical pattern recognition. The method was developed on a column of Poroshell 120 EC-C_(18), with methanol-0.1% formic acid solution as the mobile phase for gradient elution at a flow rate of 0.4 mL·min~(-1). The column temperature was 30 ℃,and the detective wavelength was 254 nm. The similarity of 24 batches of Angong Niuhuang Pills was compared by using Traditional Chinese Medicine Chromatographic Fingerprint Similarity Evaluation System(2004 A). Hydrophobic cluster analysis,principal components analysis and partial least squares discriminant analysis were conducted by using SIMCA 13.0 software to investigate different components among these products. The UPLC characteristic fingerprint was established in this study. And 17 common peaks were identified by standard reference and UPLC-MS. The similarity of 24 batches samples were above 0.980,which can be classified into three categories for pattern recognition. Baicalin,berberine,jatrorrhizine,wogonin and wogonoside were identified as the main markers that cause differences of various batches. The method is simple,rapid,accurate and reproducible,and can provide scientific basis for improving the quality standard of Zhongyi Angong Niuhuang Pills.

10.Analysis on the surveillance results of influenza virus in Gansu province, 2010-2018

Objective:To analyze the influenza surveillance results and epidemiological characteristics of the disease in Gansu province in 2010-2018, and provide scientific basis for the formulation and adjustment of influenza prevention and control strategies.Methods:Real-time PCR was used to detect the specimens of ILI illness (ILI) cases reported by 19 national influenza surveillance sentinel hospitals in Gansu province. Influenza virus isolation and culture were carried out using canine kidney cells (MDCK).Results:Total of 93 334 specimens from ILI cases were collected from Jan. 2010 to Dec. 2018, and 13 439 samples were positive for influenza virus nucleic acid. The positive rate of viral nucleic acid detection was 14.40%, and the proportion of influenza B virus in positive samples was the highest (37.02%), and seasonal H3N2 influenza virus (35.25%), H1N1 influenza virus (26.78%). The advantages are different in various periods. The peak period of influenza is from Dec. to Mar., and the highest incidence rate is in the age group of 5-15 years (20.34%). The incidence rates of the other age groups are similar. The difference of influenza positive rate in different age groups is statistically significant ( χ2=775.153, P<0.001), but in male and female was not significant. Total of 16 101 ILI specimens positive for influenza virus nucleic acid were subjected to virus isolation and cultured, and 3 892 strains of influenza virus were isolated, of which influenza B virus accounted for the highest proportion (37.82%), followed by seasonal H3N2 influenza virus (33.04%), H1N1 influenza virus (28.96%). Conclusions:The epidemic of influenza in Gansu province had an obvious regularity, and it was undulating and prevalent. It is necessary to strengthen prevention and control measures among school-age children and adolescents.
