Hyperkalemia is one of the common ion metabolism disorders in clinical practice. Hyperkalemia is defined as serum potassium higher than 5.0 mmol/L according to the guidelines at home and abroad. Acute severe hyperkalemia can cause serious consequences, such as flaccid paralysis, fatal arrhythmia, and even cardiac arrest. The use of renin-angiotensin- aldosterone system inhibitors, β-blockers and diuretics, low-sodium and high-potassium diets, and the presence of related comorbidities increase the occurrence of hyperkalemia. Hyperkalemia risk exist in all clinical departments, but there is a lack of a standardization in the management of multi- department cooperation in hospital. Therefore, a number of domestic nephrology and cardiology department experts have discussed a management model for multi-department cooperation in hyperkalemia, formulating the management standard on hospital evaluation, early warning, diagnosis and treatment, and process. This can promote each department to more effectively participate in nosocomial hyperkalemia diagnosis and treatment, as well as the long-term management of chronic hyperkalemia, improving the quality of hyperkalemia management in hospital.

Objective Based on a novel type of cell death induced by disulfide stress, known as disulfidptosis, this study explores the role of long non-coding RNA(LncRNA)in gastric cancer and establishes a prognosis model re-lated to disulfidptosis, providing a new method for assessing the prognosis of gastric cancer treatment. Methods Transcriptomic data from gastric cancer and normal tissue samples were obtained from the public database TCGA,and disulfidptosis-related LncRNAs were selected through Pearson analysis and LASSO-Cox regression analysis.A relevant prognostic model for gastric cancer was constructed based on the above LncRNAs and validated by function-al enrichment analysis, tumour microenvironment and immune cell infiltration analysis, drug sensitivity analysis and quantitative reverse transcription PCR(RT-qPCR).Results In this study,400 disulfide death-associated LncR-NAs were identified and five of them were screened to construct a prognostic model for assessing the prognosis of gastric cancer patients. The models showed in validation that the survival of the high-risk score group was shorter than that of the low-risk score group(P<0.05).In addition, the predictive ability of the prognostic model(AUC=0.725)was better than that based only on basic characteristics such as age and gender. The expression levels of disulfide death-associated LncRNAs differed between normal and gastric cancer tissues(P<0.001).Conclusion The disulfidptosis-related LncRNA prognosis model developed in this study can effectively assess the prognosis of gastric cancer patients and the tumor microenvironment, providing potential targets and a theoretical basis for new immunotherapeutic strategies for gastric cancer.

During the process of dairy farming, various factors such as physical injury and bacterial infection act upon body tissues or organs, leading to the disruption of skin or mucous tissue integ-rity and subsequent tissue injury and trauma. The healing of these injuries is a complex process that necessitates the coordinated efforts of different cells and involvement of diverse cytokines.A-mong them, the interaction between macrophages and myofibroblasts is indispensable for efficient tissue repair.Nod-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3),a pattern recognition receptor in the innate im-mune system, may play a regulatory role in modulating this intricate process. In this study, cow myofibroblasts and M1 type bone marrow-derived macrophages were cultured in vitro, followed by collection of cell culture supernatant for co-culture analysis. Both cytokine secretion levels in M1 type bone marrow-derived macrophages as well as expression patterns levels of myofibroblast growth factor protein and mRNA were detected. The regulatory mechanism underlying NLRP3 in-volvement in mediating interactions between these two cell types was investigated using NLRP3 inhibitor MCC950.The results showed that an effective method for culturing cow muscle fibroblasts in vitro was successfully established and myofibroblast conditioned medium(MFbCM)could regulate M1 macrophage secretion profiles.Moreover,M1 macrophage conditioned medium(M1?CM)was found to influence myofibroblast growth factor expression levels. Our findings sug-gest that NLRP3 plays a significant regulatory role during crosstalk between myofibroblasts and M1-type pro-inflammatory macrophages.

The pursuit of cosmetic effects in post-surgical wounds has led to the development of ultra-minimally invasive techniques in surgery. Minimal invasive surgery has replaced open surgery and has become the new gold-standard for treating diseases. One such technique is the single incision triangulated umbilicus surgery (SITUS), which offers several advantages over traditional laparoscopic and other scarless surgeries, including reduced trauma, faster recovery, and better cosmetic outcomes. SITUS also has a short learning curve, aligns with conventional instrumentation operating habits, and can be used for whole abdominal surgeries. Chinese scholars have made further improvements to the SITUS technology, including expanding its applicability in intra-abdominal surgery and refining its incision closure methods to achieve superior cosmetic results. Currently, SITUS technology is experiencing rapid development in urology applications and has demonstrated satisfactory results in both domestic and international reports. This review aims to discuss the effectiveness and development of the SITUS technique in urology.

To evaluate the implementation of Survey of oncomelanid snails (WS/T 563—2017) in schistosomiasis-endemic foci, two schistosomiasis-endemic counties were selected from two provinces of Sichuan and Anhui. Professional staff working in province-, city-, county- and township-level disease control and prevention institutions, parasitic disease control institutions or medical institutions were recruited, and the understanding, use and implementation of Survey of oncomelanid snails (WS/T 563—2017) were investigated using questionnaires and interviews. The awareness, use, proportion of propagation and implementation and correct rate of answering questions pertaining to Survey of oncomelanid snails (WS/T 563—2017) were analyzed. A total of 270 questionnaires were allocated, and 269 were recovered, including 254 valid questionnaires. The overall awareness of Survey of oncomelanid snails (WS/T 563—2017) was 84.64% (215/254), and propagation and implementation of Survey of oncomelanid snails (WS/T 563—2017) was not performed in 23.28% (17/73) of the survey institutions following implementation of Survey of oncomelanid snails (WS/T 563—2017), with meeting training and allocation of propagation materials as the main type of propagation and implementation. Among 254 respondents, 77.16% (196/254) were familiar with the standard, 66.14% (168/254) understood the conditions for use of the standard during snail surveys, and 96.85% (246/254) had the approach for identifying snails. In addition, there were 41.73% (106/254), 50.78% (129/254) and 7.48% (19/254) of respondents that considered the operability of Survey of oncomelanid snails (WS/T 563—2017) was very good, good and general, respectively. The findings demonstrate that the issue and implementation of Survey of oncomelanid snails (WS/T 563—2017) has filled the gap for the standardization of snail control techniques, and which plays an importang guiding role in the national schistosomiasis control program.

The clinicopathological data of 812 patients who underwent laparoscopic ISR for extremely low rectal cancer in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University (Shanghai Changzheng Hospital) from February 2012 to February 2022 were collected. There were 459 males and 353 females, aged (51±11)years. Observation indicators: (1) surgical situations; (2) follow-up; (3) influencing factors of postoperative anastomotic leakage; (4) construction and evaluation of nomogram prediction model for postoperative anastomotic leakage. Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as Mean± SD, and measurement data with skewed distribution were represented as M(range). Count data were described as absolute numbers. The COX proportional hazard model was used for univariate and multivariate analyses. The R software(3.5.1 version) was used to construct nomogram prediction model. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn and the area under curve (AUC) was used to evaluate the efficacy of the nomogram prediction model. The Bootstrap method was used for internal verification and to calculate the average consistency index (C-index). Results:(1) Surgical situations. All 812 patients underwent laparoscopic ISR for extremely low rectal cancer, including 388 cases undergoing partial ISR, 218 cases undergoing subtotal ISR and 206 cases undergoing complete ISR. All 812 patients underwent ileal protective ostomy, and there were 306 cases with double anastomosis and 203 cases with left colic artery preserved, respectively. The operation time and volume of intraoperative blood loss of 812 patients was (179±33)minutes and (33±13)mL, respectively. (2) Follow-up. All 812 patients were followed up for (13.5±0.9)months. Of the 812 patients, there were 62 cases with postoperative anastomotic leakage and the healing time of these cases was (33±6)days. (3) Influencing factors of postoperative anastomotic leakage. Results of multivariate analysis showed that male, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, failure of reser-ving left colic artery were independent risk factors of anastomotic leakage after laparoscopic ISR for extremely low rectal cancer ( hazard ratio=5.98, 4.00, 16.26, 95% confidence interval as 1.66-24.12, 1.30-12.42, 3.00-90.89, P<0.05). (4) Construction and evaluation of nomogram prediction model for postoperative anastomotic leakage. According to the results of multivariate analysis, male, neoadju-vant chemoradiotherapy and failure of reserving left colic artery were used to construct the nomogram prediction model for anastomotic leakage after laparoscopic ISR for extremely low rectal cancer, and the score of these indexes in the nomogram prediction model was 50, 49, 93, respectively. The total score of these index corresponded to the incidence rate of anastomotic leakage. Results of ROC curve showed that the AUC of nomogram prediction model of anastomotic leakage after laparoscopic ISR for extremely low rectal cancer was 0.87 (95% confidence interval as 0.80-0.93, P<0.05), with sensi-tivity and specificity 0.96 and 0.60, respectively. Results of internal verification showed that the C-index of nomogram prediction model was 0.87. Conclusion:Male, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, failure of reserving left colic artery are independent risk factors of anastomotic leakage after laparo-scopic ISR for extremely low rectal cancer, and the nomogram prediction model based on these indexes can predict the incidence rate of postoperative anastomotic leakage.

L-theanine has been shown to have a therapeutic effect on depression. However, whether L-theanine has an excellent preventive effect on depression in children and adolescents and what its mechanism is have not been well explained.Given the complexity of the pathogenesis of depression, this study investigated the preventive effect and mechanism of L-theanine on depression in juvenile rats by combining serum and hippocampal metabolomic strategies.Behavioral tests, hippocampal tissue sections, and serum and hippocampal biochemical indexes were studied, and the results confirmed the preventive effect of L-theanine.Untargeted reversed-phase liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spec-trometry and targeted hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spec-trometry were developed to analyze the metabolism changes in the serum and hippocampus to screen for potential biomarkers related to L-theanine treatment. The results suggested that 28 abnormal me-tabolites in the serum and hippocampus that were considered as potential biomarkers returned to near-normal levels after L-theanine administration. These biomarkers were involved in various metabolic pathways, mainly including amino acid metabolism and lipid metabolism. The levels of amino acids and neurotransmitters in the phenylalanine, tryptophan, and glutamic acid pathways were significantly reduced after L-theanine administration compared with chronic unpredictable mild stress-induced rats.In summary,L-theanine had a significant preventive effect on depression and achieved its preventive results on depression by regulating various aspects of the body, such as amino acids, lipids, and inflammation. This research systematically analyzed the mechanism of L-theanine in preventing depression and laid the foundation for applying L-theanine to prevent depression in children and adolescents.
