This study was designed to evaluate the gastroprotective activity of cirsilineol in hydrochloric acid (HCl)/ethanol-induced gastric ulcer model. Cirsilineol was administered at the doses of 20 and 40 mg/kg in HCl/ethanol-induced rats. The gastroprotective ability was verified by determining the ulcer score, total acidity, hemoglobin, inflammatory cytokines, lipid peroxides, and enzymatic antioxidants superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) in gastric tissue and serum biochemical analysis. The results showed a favorable increase in the hemoglobin level, antioxidant enzymes (SOD and CAT), restored electrochemical balance (carbon dioxide & anion gap) while a noticeable decrease in ulcer index, total acidity, lipid peroxides, inflammatory cytokines (interleukin-1 beta [IL-1β], IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha) in rats treated with the cirsilineol. The serum biochemical analysis on liver markers (alkaline phosphatases, alanine aminotransferase, and aspartate aminotransferase), kidney markers (urea, creatinine, albumin, globulin, total protein), and lipid profile (triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein, total cholesterol) were attenuated by cirsilineol treatment in rats. Histopathology showed enhanced gastric protection and preserved the integrity of gastric mucosa upon cirsilineol administration. These results ultimately suggest that cirsilineol has gastroprotective effects that prevent the development of gastric ulcer.

Objective To investigate the effect of covered stent on the treatment of Stanford type B aortic dissection and its effect on cardiopulmonary function. Methods From June 2014 to December 2015, sixty-four AD patients treated in our hospital were selected and were divided into the control group(30 cases) and the observation group ( 32 cases) . The control group was treated with conservative treatment while the observation group was treated with covered stent. After treatment, two groups of patients were followed up for at least 24 months to understand the recovery status after treatment and evaluate the effect. . Results The time of hospitalization of the observation group ((26. 10±8. 14) d) was shorter than that of the control group ((33. 89 ±8. 32) d) (t=4. 963,P<0. 05),and there was no statistically significant difference in the mortality and complication rate in 30d after operation between the two groups (χ2=1. 084,0. 015,P>0. 05); at 24 months after discharge, the survival rate (93. 75%(30/32)),standard rate of blood pressure 93. 75 (30/32) and treatment compliance rate(90. 63 (29/32)) of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (53.33%(16/30); 60.00(18/32);73.33(22/30)) (χ2 = 13.210、10.088、4.771,P<0.05) . After treatment, the cardiac output((4. 99±0. 53) L/min) and left ventricular ejection fraction((51. 88±3. 64)%) of the observation group were higher than those of the control group((4. 13±0. 13) L/min,(46. 30 ±9. 63)%). The end systolic diameter of left ventricle (( 55. 75 ± 2. 11) mm) and left ventricular end diastolic diameter ((57. 80± 3. 53) mm) of the observation group were less than those of the control group (( 65. 77 ± 2. 21), (64. 54±2. 67) mm). The differences between the two groups were statistically significant(t=8. 643、3. 054、8. 436、18. 263,P<0. 05). Conclusion Covered stent is safe and effective in the treatment of Stanford type B aortic dissection.

Purpose To study the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical characteristics of mantle cell lymphomas(MCL). Methods Six cases of MCL in lymph nodes were collected and immunohistochemical stains for CD45,CD20,CD79,CD45RO,CD30,CD68,CD43,CD5,cyclinD1,bcl-2,c-myc,IgD and IgM performed. Results According to the histological pattern, MCL could be divided into 4 subtypes, mantle zone type(1 case), nodular type (1 case), diffuse type (2 cases) and blastoid type (2 cases). The tumor cells were pan-B+, IgD+, CD43+, cyclinD1 + (5/6),CD5+(4/6). Conclusions MCL is a kind of special immunophenotypic B cell lymphoma. The different histiological subtype may have a different prognosis. The differential diagnosis includes the others B cell lymphomas, for instance, marginal zone B cell lymphomas (MZL),follicular lymphomas(FL), and choronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphomas (CLL/SLL).

Purpose To study the pathological characteristics, diagnostic criteria and differential diagnoses of the lymph node marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (LMZL), for the clinical treatment and prognosis. Methods Histopathology and immunohistochemistry(ABC method) were used in ten cases of LMZL. Results There were six male and four female. Lymphadenopathy was the main symptom in all of the cases, of which none had hepatosplenomegaly and abnormal lymphocytes in the peripheral blood. Two of them were marginal zone type, four nodular type, two diffuse type and two blastic type morphologically. Five of them were central cell like (CCL) type, six monocytic B-cell (MBC), two of them lymphoplasmacytic and two blastic histopathologically. Immunophenotyping was done in ten cases and supported the diagnosis. Conclusions LMZL and MALT-type lymphoma have similar appearance, immunophenotype and cell origin. Based on the structural features, LMZL is a special entity.

Objective:To study the expression and clinical significance of neuron-specific enolase, chromogranin and synaptophysin in islet cell tumors.Methods:Twenty-one paraffin-embedded specimens with islet tumors and 3 cases cholangiocarcinoma and tissue nearby the tumor were recruited from Jan 1988 to Jun 2001.The S-P method was used for the detection of chromogranin, synaptophysin and neuron-specific enolase. Results:There were positive expressions of neuron-specific enolase, chromogranin and synaptophysin in 19,15 and 18 cases respectively, while negative results were observed in 3 cases of cholangiocarcinoma and the para-cancer tissue. Conclusion:CG,SYN and NSE may be specific tumor markers of islet cell tumors and combined detection can help to enhance the sensitivity.
