1.Invasion and Metastasis in Colorectal Cancer Mediated by Traditional Chinese Medicine via Cell Signaling Pathway: A Review

Colorectal cancer is a common and malignant tumor in the digestive tract. Invasion and metastasis of cancer cells are key factors leading to the high mortality rate and postoperative recurrence of colorectal cancer. Chemotherapy is the main treatment method for preventing recurrence of this disease. However, there are many toxic side effects in clinical application, which seriously hinder the treatment process. Therefore, it is imperative to search for efficient and low-toxicity drugs. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has a long history of treating colorectal cancer and offers advantages such as safety, effectiveness, multiple targets, multiple pathways and minimal toxic side effects, which have made it increasingly popular worldwide. According to TCM, the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer is rooted in both deficiency and excess. TCM formulas mainly focus on tonifying the body to address the invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer, such as Jianpi compound, Jianpi Xiaoai decoction, and Bushen Jiedu Sanjie decoction. TCM monomers, such as emodin, berberine, and tanshinone, mainly focus on clearing heat and removing toxin, circulating blood and transforming stasis, and resolving swelling and dispersing nodules. Signaling pathways play a crucial role for analyzing invasion and metastasis, and research has shown that pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin, phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase/protein kinase (PI3K/Akt), Janus kinase 2/signal transduction and transcription activating factor 3 (JAK2/STAT3), nuclear factors-κB (NF-κB), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) play important roles in the invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer. The invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer can be inhibited via regulating the key proteins and related factors in these pathways. In this review, we searched various literature databases, such as PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and VIP, using keywords such as "colorectal cancer", "signaling pathway", "invasion and metastasis", and "traditional Chinese medicine", to summarize and analyze the relevant pathways of TCM compounds and monomers against invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer published in the past five years. The review aims to provide new insights and references for in-depth research on the therapy for invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer and new drug development.
2.Integration of nuclear and radiation emergency medical treatment in the national emergency medical rescue team

This study aims to address the specificity of nuclear and radiation medical treatment and explore the way to integrate such emergency medical treatment in national emergency medical rescue teams. By analyzing the characteristics of nuclear and radiation medical treatment, as well as the foundation, roles, and development of national emergency medical rescue teams, the study proposes a series of practical and feasible strategies, including professional knowledge training, manpower and material resource assurance, emergency response coordination mechanisms, and psychological health support. These strategies help to compensate for the professional deficiencies of national emergency medical rescue teams in responding to nuclear incidents and enhance their overall comprehensive capabilities, enabling them to better fulfill their responsibilities in health emergency rescue.

B16 cells were injected subcutaneously into the skin of the back and neck of mice at a dose of 100 μL to construct a mouse melanoma model. Spleen mononuclear cells of tumor-bearing mice were extracted and immediately co-cultured with irradiated tumor cells for 48 h. Changes of dendritic cell (DC) maturity were detected by MHC-II, CD11c, CD80 and CD83 flow cytometry. Results: After UVAP, the survival rate of B16 cells decreased significantly (61.39±6.823 vs 84.81±7.026 vs 100.0±3.996, P<0.000 1, P<0.01). UVAP effectively induced ferroptosis in B16 cells, characterized by increased LPO and C11-bodipy lipid peroxidation, GSH depletion, Fe
accumulation, mitochondrial membrane depolarization, decreased GPX4 and SLC7A11 protein expression, and increased NCOA4 expression, all in line with the trend of ferroptosis. UVAP also enhanced tumor cell immunogenicity, evidenced by elevated release of ATP, CRT, and HMGB1. The immunogenicity of B16 cells increased, the expressions of ATP, CRT and HMGB1 increased, and the DC maturity increased (CD80: 31.92±4.071 vs 19.77±3.177; CD83: 21.40±4.787 vs 12.19±1.487, P<0.001, P<0.01). Conclusion: The combined action of 8-MOP and UVA can induce ferroptosis in B16 tumor cells, enhance the immunogenicity of tumor cells, release more tumor antigens, promote the maturation of DC, present antigens better, thereby facilitating subsequent immune activation.
4.CiteSpace-based visualization analysis of traditional Chinese medicine treatment for patients after receiving percutaneous coronary intervention

Objective By using CiteSpace-based visualization analysis to investigate the main research contents,research frontiers,author cooperation network and institutional cooperation network of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment for patients after receiving percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)so as to provide reference for the TCM diagnosis,treatment and research of patients after receiving PCI.Methods A computerized retrieval of academic papers concerning TCM treatment of patients after receiving PCI from CNKI,VIP and Wanfang databases was conducted.The retrieved literature materials were input into NoteExpress software to make the literature screening and the data cleaning.CiteSpace software was used to analyze the key words,authors,institutions,etc.Results A total of 1 708 articles were obtained;the number of published articles in 2020 was the largest,which was up to 137 articles.The core authors accounted for 4.37%of the total number of authors who had written articles,but no core author group had been formed yet.Liaoning province of China was the region where the number of published articles was the largest,and there was no effective collaboration network between different areas.The cluster analysis yielded 25 clusters,448 key nodes and 1 266 lines.The main cluster results were coronary heart disease,acute coronary syndrome,acute myocardial infarction,restenosis,etc.The analysis of emergent words(i.e.the suddenly increased frequency of a certain key word in a certain period)yielded 24 emergent words,including syndrome differentiation of TCM,ginseng peony oral liquid,cardiac rehabilitation,etc.Conclusion The main research contents of TCM treatment for patients after PCI include syndrome differentiation of TCM,etiology and pathogenesis,clinical trials,etc.Postoperative pathological phenomena such as restenosis are the research difficulties in this field,and anxiety,dual-mind TCM,and cardiac rehabilitation are the current research hotspots.TCM has definite efficacy in promoting the recovery of cardiac function after PCI,in reducing the incidence of postoperative events such as restenosis,and in improving anxiety and depression.
5.Corneal transparency changes in patients with type 2 diabetes and its influencing factors

Objective:To investigate corneal transparency alteration in patients with type 2 diabetes and its influencing factors.Methods:A case-control study was conducted.A total of 52 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) (104 eyes) and 23 age-matched healthy controls (46 eyes) were enrolled as DM group and normal control group in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from October 1, 2020 to October 30, 2021.Patients with DM were further divided into non-diabetic retinopathy (non-DR) and DR groups according to their fundus conditions.Corneal densitometry (CD) was evaluated using the Pentacam.According to its built-in program, the cornea was divided into anterior, intermediate, and posterior layers and subdivided into 0-2 mm, >2-6 mm, >6-10 mm, and >10-12 mm annular regions with the corneal apex as the center of the circle.Pentacam automatically calculated the CD value of each corneal layer and region as well as the total CD value.The influencing factors of total CD value in diabetes group were analyzed by a multivariate linear regression analysis model.This study adhered to the Declaration of Helsinki.The study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University (No.YX2023-129[F1]).Written informed consent was obtained from each subject before any medical examination.Results:The total CD value of diabetes group was 20.24±3.10, which was significantly higher than 18.79±3.31 of normal control group ( t=-2.583, P=0.011).The CD values of the anterior layer, intermediate layer, 0-2 mm, and >2-6 mm regions were significantly higher in diabetes group than in normal control group (all at P<0.05).The CD values in the anterior layer were higher in non-DR and DR groups than in normal control group, and the CD values and total CD values in the middle and posterior layers were higher in non-DR group than in normal control group and DR group, and the differences were statistically significant (all at P<0.05).The CD values in the 0-2 mm and >2-6 mm regions were significantly higher in non-DR group than in normal control group, and the CD value in the >6-10 mm annular region was significantly higher in non-DR group than in DR group and normal control group (all at P<0.05).Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that age and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level were the main influencing factors for the increase in CD values in diabetic patients ( β=0.266, P<0.001; β=0.423, P=0.003). Conclusions:The decrease of corneal transparency precedes the appearance of DR in patients with diabetes.Poor control of HbA1c level in diabetic patients may cause the decline of corneal transparency.
6.Whole genome sequencing and antimicrobial resistance analysis of Streptococcus equi subsp.equi XJ 5012 strain isolated from Xinjiang

In order to explore the genomic characteristics,its virulence,evolution,the correlation be-tween drug resistance phenotype and resistance genes of S.equi XJ 5012,to laid a theoretical basis for efficient prevention and control of strangles,whole genome sequencing was investigated.In this study,the antimicrobial suceptibility of S.equi XJ 5012 was tested by the paper disk method and its whole genome was sequenced,Then the 16S rRNA evolution,SeM genotyping,antibiotic resist-ance gene and virulence gene were compared and analyzed.Drug susceptibility results showed that S.equi XJ5012 was sensitive to 13 antibiotics,such as amoxicillin,ampicillin,cefuroxime,cefotio-fur,cefoxitin,streptomycin,erythromycin,oxytetracycline,levofloxacin,norfloxacin,ciprofloxacin,rifampicin,clindamycin,sulfadiazine sodium,and resistant to 6 antibiotics,such as penicillin,genta-micin,clarithromycin,doxycycline,tetracycline and sulfonamide isoxazole.The whole genome se-quencing results of showed that the genome size of S.equi XJ 5012 was 2.21 Mb,the GC content was 41.31%and this strain has 2 264 code genes.Antibiotic resistance genes database(ARDB)in-dicated that the S.equi XJ 5012 carried 135 drug resistance gene,among which the resistance genes mainly were macrocyclic lipids,fluoroquinolones,aminoglycosides,peptides,tetracyclines and β-lac-tam antibiotics,correlating well with the results of drug susceptibility test.Virulence Factors Data-base(VFDB)indicated that S.equi XJ 5012 carried 197 virulence genes include adhesion,antiph-agocytosis,extracellular enzyme encoding,secrtion,and iron uptake.The phylogenetic tree based on 16S rRNA gene confirmed that the strain XJ 5012 was closely related to S.equi 4047.The results of SeM genotyping revealed that S.equi XJ 5012 was SeM-217,which was closely related to Xin-jiang isolates SeM-209 and SeM-215 and foreign isolates SeM-195 and SeM-196.In this study,the whole genome sequencing analysis of S.equi XJ 5012 based on the third generation sequencing technology is the first report on the genome of S.equi in China,which provides a reference for a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding the characteristics of the genomic,molecular epi-demic and drug resistance of the strain.It is significant for the further prevention and control of strangles and understanding of pathogenic mechanism of S.equi.

【Objective】 To investigate the preventive effects of early apoptotic splenic mononuclear cells induced by extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) on acute graft versus host disease (aGVHD) in mice and explore the underlying mechanisms. 【Methods】 1) Splenic mononuclear cells were extracted from C57BL/6 mice and treated with different concentrations of 8-MOP (50 ng/mL, 100 ng/mL, 200 ng/mL, 300 ng/mL, 600 ng/mL). After treatment, irradiate the cells with 2 J/cm2 of ultraviolet light. Then, use the Annexin V-FITC/PI apoptosis detection kit to assess the early apoptosis rate of the cells and determine the optimal concentration of 8-MOP for the experiment.2) There were 35 SPF-grade female BALB/C mice (H-2Kd) aged 6-8 weeks. After whole-body irradiation with 8Gy X-rays, the mice were divided into five groups: sham irradiation group received intravenous infusion of 0.2 mL of normal saline, the syngeneic bone marrow transplantation group received intravenous infusion of 0.2 mL of BALB/C mouse bone marrow nucleated cell suspension (including a cell count of 1×107), the allogeneic bone marrow transplantation group received intravenous infusion of 0.2 mL of C57BL/6 mouse bone marrow nucleated cell suspension (including a cell count of 1×107), the aGVHD group received intravenous injection of a mixture of C57BL/6 mouse bone marrow nucleated cells (including a cell count of 1×107) and splenic mononuclear cells (including a cell count of 1×107) in 0.2 mL, the ECP prevention group received pre-transplant intravenous infusion of 0.2 mL of ECP-treated splenic mononuclear cells of C57BL/6 mice (including a cell count of 1×107 ) 48 hours before transplantation, and on the day of transplantation, intravenous injection of a mixture of C57BL/6 mouse bone marrow nucleated cells (including a cell count of 1×107) and splenic mononuclear cells (including a cell count of 1×107 ) in 0.2 mL.The preventive effects of ECP on aGVHD were observed, and the concentrations of IFN-γ, IL-2, TNF, IL-4 and IL-6 in mouse serum were measured using CBA. Th1 cell counts were determined by flow cytometry. 【Results】 Different concentrations of 8-MOP (50 ng/mL,100 ng/mL, 200 ng/mL, 300 ng/mL, 600 ng/mL) were used to treat mouse splenic mononuclear cells. The early apoptosis rates (%), observed after treatment were as follows: (14.18±0.865) vs (16.76±0.407) vs (18.83±0.404) vs (19.27±0.404) vs (14.5±0.529). The appropriate concentration of 8-MOP was determined to be 200 ng/mL.In vivo experiment, the results showed that the aGVHD group had decreased survival rate, reduced body weight, and increased clinical scores compared to the syngeneic and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation groups (P<0.01), and the chimerism of bone marrow cells in mice after transplantation was over 90%. ECP significantly improved the survival rate of mice after transplantation, reduced clinical scores (P<0.05), and decreased the concentrations of Th1 cell cytokines in serum (P<0.05) and the counts of Th1 cells in the spleen (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 ECP-induced early apoptotic single nuclear cells from the spleen can prevent the occurrence of aGVHD by reducing the Th1 response in mouse.
9.Evidence Summary of the nursing of spinal fixation in emergency adult patients with traumatic spinal cord injury

Objective:To summarize the relevant evidence for the management of fixation in traumatic spinal cord injury patients, which provides a reference for the clinical care and care of patients.Methods:A systematic search was conducted for evidence related to spinal injuries from domestic and foreign databases, relevant guideline websites, etc. The types of literature were best practice, expert consensus, systematic review, evidence summary, clinical decision-making, etc. The search time was from the establishment of databases to January 31, 2022. Three researchers used the Multidimensional Systematic Review Tool to evaluate systematic review literature. Five researchers used the guideline research and evaluation tool AGREE Ⅱ to evaluate clinical practice guidelines, and used the Australian JBI Evidence-Based Health Care Center (2016) to evaluate expert consensus and expert opinion with the authenticity evaluation tool for expert opinions and professional consensus articles. And extracted and summarized evidence according to the subject.Results:Finally, 10 articles were included, including 4 clinical decision-making, 4 guidelines and 2 systematic evaluations. The 30 pieces of evidence include the assessment, prevention, cervical spinal fixation, and management after traumatic spinal cord injury.Conclusions:The evidence emphasizes the importance of standardized assessment of cervical risk factors in all emergency adult patients with traumatic spinal cord injury. In the emergency department, we need to improve the ability of spinal evaluation and fixation in patients with penetrating neck injury, optimize the timeliness process of emergency trauma, reduce the occurrence of potential complications, and improve patient outcomes.

Depressive disorder ranks as a major bur-den of disease worldwide,yet the current antidepressant medications are limited by frequent non-responsiveness and significant side effects.The lateral septum(LS)is thought to control of depression,however,the cellular and circuit substrates are largely unknown.Here,we identified a subpopulation of LS GABAergic adenosine A2A receptors(A2AR)-positive neurons mediating depres-sive symptoms via direct projects to the lateral habenula(LHb)and the dorsomedial hypothalamus(DMH).Activa-tion of A2AR in the LS augmented the spiking frequency of A2AR-positive neurons leading to a decreased activation of surrounding neurons and the bi-directional manipula-tion of LS-A2AR activity demonstrated that LS-A2ARs are necessary and sufficient to trigger depressive pheno-types.Thus,the optogenetic modulation(stimulation or inhibition)of LS-A2AR-positive neuronal activity or LS-A2AR-positive neurons projection terminals to the LHb or DMH,phenocopied depressive behaviors.Moreover,A2AR are upregulated in the LS in two male mouse mod-els of repeated stress-induced depression.This identifica-tion that aberrantly increased A2AR signaling in the LS is a critical upstream regulator of repeated stress-induced depressive-like behaviors provides a neurophysiological and circuit-based justification of the antidepressant poten-tial of A2AR antagonists,prompting their clinical transla-tion.
