1.Development and validation of the “Questionnaires on the Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of College Students in Response to Public Health Emergencies”

Objective To develop the "Questionnaires on the Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of College Students in Response to Public Health Emergencies" and validate its reliability and validity. Methods The initial questionnaire was developed according to literature review, expert consultations, and one-on-one interviews with students and educators. A total of 43 college students were selected as the pre-test subjects using the convenience sampling method. The final version of the questionnaire was developed using item analysis and expert consultations. A total of 682 college students were selected as the validation subjects using the cluster sampling method. The exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to assess the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. Results The final version of the questionnaire consisted of three dimensions: knowledge, practice, and attitude, with 5, 10, 7 items, respectively. The KMO test value for the questionnaire was 0.804, with Bartlett′s test of sphericity showing a chi-square value of 2 000.557 (P<0.01). The content validity index for each item ranged from 0.894 to 1.000, with the overall content validity index for the questionnaire being 0.966 and 0.973. The exploratory factor analysis identified three common factors, with a cumulative variance contribution rate of 54.1%. The result of confirmatory factor analysis showed good model fit, with model fit index, comparative fit index, normed fit index, incremental fit index, Tucker-Lewis Index, root mean square error of approximation of 2.960, 0.930, 0.940, 0.930, 0.950 and 0.070, respectively. The Cronbach's α coefficient for the questionnaire was 0.772, split-half reliability was 0.604, and test-retest reliability was 0.905. Conclusion The "Questionnaires on the Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of College Students in Response to Public Health Emergencies" demonstrates good reliability, and it is suitable for widespread application.

7.Study on the Pathological Mechanism-Syndrome-Treatment Patterns of Approved Chinese Patent Medicines Targeting Collateral Disorders

ObjectiveTo explore the pathological mechanism-syndrome-treatment patterns of approved Chinese patent medicines (CPMs) that treat collateral disorders, providing a reference for the principle of "treating different diseases with the same therapy" in collateral pathology. MethodsCPMs that apply treatment strategies based on collateral disorders were identified from the Pharmacodia database by extracting information from the "efficacy" or "indications" sections of drug package inserts. A database was established to extract the names and compositions of the CPMs, as well as their indications, related traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptoms, disease locations (affected areas), and pathological factors. Frequency statistics were performed. Using the Apriori algorithm, an association rule analysis was conducted on CPMs and disease-location combinations related to the top three most frequent pathological factor combinations. Core formulas for these combinations were identified and analyzed through drug network analysis and MCODE module clustering. ResultsA total of 660 CPMs targeting collateral disorders were retrieved, involving 299 indications, 323 TCM symptoms, 21 disease locations, 19 pathological factors, and 124 pathological factor combinations. The most frequent pathological factor combinations were blood stasis (involved in 109 CPMs, 16.52%), exogenous wind (外风) -cold-dampness (involved in 43 CPMs, 6.52%), and qi deficiency-blood stasis (involved in 42 CPMs, 6.36%). Analysis of the core formulas for these combinations revealed common ingredients such as Honghua (Carthami Flos), Chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), and Dilong (Pheretima). ConclusionCollateral disorders involve a wide range of pathogenesis and represent a fundamental mechanism in the onset and development of various diseases, characterized by obstruction and stagnation. The primary therapeutic principle is unblocking of the collaterals. Blood stasis obstructing the collaterals is the core pathological basis, and the strategy of activating blood circulation and resolving stasis to unblock the collaterals should be central to the treatment. The core medication pattern involves combining blood-activating and stasis-resolving herbs with insect-derived medicinals that unblock collaterals. Exogenous wind is often the initiating patholo-gical factor in colla-teral disorders, and the appropriate addition of wind-dispelling herbs can enrich the treatment strategies for such conditions.

Colonic mucosal healing is the ultimate goal of ulcerative colitis (UC) treatment, but it remains difficult to realize. Given the higher incidence of UC in males and the beneficial effect of estrogen on UC, we conducted this study to examine the therapeutic potential of estrogen receptor β (ERβ), the primary ER subtype in colon, on mucosal healing in UC. Our study is the first to report that ERβ activation degree was positively correlated with mucosal healing in patients with UC. Furthermore, ERβ activation enhanced mucosal healing in mice with dextran sulfate sodium-induced and biopsy-induced colonic injuries. Mechanistically, ERβ activation promoted autophagy of colonic epithelial cells by inhibiting branched-chain amino acid transport, leading to focal adhesion kinase (FAK) activation. Activated FAK promoted focal adhesion turnover and colonic epithelial cell migration, ultimately facilitating mucosal healing. ERβ -/- colitis mice exhibited impaired mucosal healing compared to wild-type littermates, highlighting the crucial effect of ERβ. Importantly, combination with ERβ-agonist diarylpropionitrile enhanced the amelioration of 5-aminosalicylic acid, a standard UC treatment agent, against mouse colitis. These findings attest to the crucial role of ERβ activation in colonic mucosal healing and may further inform the development of novel strategies for UC treatment.

Peri-implant keratinized mucosa (PIKM) augmentation refers to surgical procedures aimed at increasing the width of PIKM. Consensus reports emphasize the necessity of maintaining a minimum width of PIKM to ensure long-term peri-implant health. Currently, several surgical techniques have been validated for their effectiveness in increasing PIKM. However, the selection and application of PIKM augmentation methods may present challenges for dental practitioners due to heterogeneity in surgical techniques, variations in clinical scenarios, and anatomical differences. Therefore, clear guidelines and considerations for PIKM augmentation are needed. This expert consensus focuses on the commonly employed surgical techniques for PIKM augmentation and the factors influencing their selection at second-stage surgery. It aims to establish a standardized framework for assessing, planning, and executing PIKM augmentation procedures, with the goal of offering evidence-based guidance to enhance the predictability and success of PIKM augmentation.

10.Correlation between serum lncRNA MALAT1 and leptin in patients with multiple myeloma

Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression levels of long non-coding RNA(lncRNA)metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1(MALAT1)and leptin levels in the patients with multiple myeloma,as well as the role in the diagnosis and prognosis of multiple myeloma.Meth-ods A total of 60 patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma in this hospital from January 2018 to Oc-tober 2020 were selected as the patient group.Additionally,60 healthy individuals during the same period were recruited as the control group.The levels of serum lncRNA MALAT1 and leptin in the test population were detected.The correlation between the two and thier ratio as well as their role in disease prognosis were invest-gated.Results The expression levels of serum lncRNA MALAT1 and leptin in the patients group were signif-icantly higher than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).A-mong the various stages of Durie-Salmon(DS)staging,the expression levels of lncRNA MALAT1 and leptin from stage I,stage Ⅱ and stage Ⅲ were in turn from high to low,and the differences were statistically signifi-cant(P<0.05).Among different immune types,the expression level of lncRNA MALAT1 in the patients with light chain type was highest,which in those with non-secretory type was lowest.The leptin levels in the patients with light chain type,IgG type,IgA type and non-secretory type were in turn from high to low,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Furthermore,the expression level of lncRNA MAL-AT1 was positively correlated with leptin(r=0.41,P<0.05).There were statistically significant differences in the expression levels of lncRNA MALAT1,leptin levels,and lncRNA MALAT1/leptin ratio between before and after treatment in the patients with treatment effect(P<0.05).However,there was no statistically sig-nificant difference in these two indices between before and after treatment in the patients with no treatment effect(P>0.05).After treatment,the median survival time for the patients with serum lncRNA MALAT1/leptin ratio<3 was 27 months(95%CI:21.949-27.120),while which for the patients with serum lncRNA MALAT1/leptin ratio 3 was 14 months(95%CI:12.076-22.199),and the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P=0.014).Conclusion lncRNA MALAT1 and leptin exhibit a certain extent of synergistic effect in the de-velopment and progression of multiple myeloma.The ratio of these two could be used to evaluate the prognosis of the patients.
