OBJECTIVE To investigate the mechanism of Pangshi antai zhixue decoction in the improvement of spontaneous abortion with heat syndrome by regulating the NOD-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome. METHODS The binding activities of 13 main components in Pangshi antai zhixue decoction with NLRP3, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein , containing a CARD (ASC), and caspase-1 precursor (pro- No.20-21ZY1053) caspase-1) were predicted by molecular docking. Sixty 1-day-old pregnant rats were randomly divided into normal group, model group, dexamethasone group (0.002 g/kg), and Pangshi antai zhixue decoction low-, medium-, and high-dose groups (11.025, 22.05, 44.10 g/kg), with 10 rats in each group. Each group was given distilled water/corresponding medicinal solution intragastrically, once a day, for 12 consecutive days. Except for normal group, other groups were given traditional Chinese medicine for warming yang and mifepristone to establish a model of spontaneous abortion with heat syndrome. 24 h after the last medication, serum levels of triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), interleukin-2 (IL-2), IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, and interferon-γ (IFN-γ) were all detected; the abortion rate and uterine coefficient were calculated; the pathological morphology of the pregnant uterus was observed; protein expressions of NLRP3, ASC and caspase-1 were detected. RESULTS The molecular docking results showed that the binding energies of 13 main components of Pangshi antai zhixue decoction with NLRP3, ASC, and pro-caspase-1 were all less than -5 kJ/moL. The animal experiment results showed that compared with normal group, the uterine coefficient and serum levels of IL-4, IL-6 and IL-10 were decreased significantly in model group (P<0.05); the abortion rate and serum levels of T3, T4, IL-2 and IFN-γ as well as protein expressions of NLRP3, ASC and caspase-1 were increased significantly (P<0.05); there were abortion lesions in the pregnant endometrium. Compared with the model group, most of the quantitative indicators mentioned above were significantly reversed in Pangshi antai zhixue decoction groups (P<0.05), and the endometrial miscarriage lesions in pregnancy were improved to varying degrees. CONCLUSIONS Pangshi antai zhixue decoction influences the immune balance between mother and fetus by regulating the formation of NLRP3 inflammasome, down-regulating pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IFN-γ and IL-2, and up-regulating anti-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-4, IL-6 and IL-10, thereby improving spontaneous abortion with heat syndrome.

		                        			Objective:
To investigate the situation and influencing factors of school bullying experienced by primary and middle school students, so as to provide the basis for formulating school bullying intervention measures and promoting students' physical and mental health development.

		                        			Methods:
All the counties (cities, districts) in Zhejiang Province were stratified to urban and suburban areas, primary, junior high and senior high school students were selected using a stratified cluster sampling method. Basic information, lifestyle and school bullying were collected through questionnaire surveys. Factors affecting school bullying experienced by primary and middle school students were analyzed using a multivariable logistic regression model.

		                        			Results:
Totally 137 846 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 97.17%. There were 72 526 males (52.61%) and 65 320 females (47.39%). There were 47 561 primary school students (34.50%), 47 701 junior high school students (34.61%) and 42 584 senior high school students (30.89%). A total of 3 987 students suffered from school bullying, accounting for 2.89%. The proportions of being maliciously teased, being intentionally excluded from group activities/isolated, being teased about physical defects or appearance, being hit/kicked/pushed/shoved/locked in a room, being threatened, and being extorted for money were 2.04%, 1.18%, 1.11%, 0.86%, 0.84% and 0.83%, respectively. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that the students who were males (OR=1.122, 95%CI: 1.048-1.202), lived in suburban areas (OR=1.322, 95%CI: 1.233-1.418), lived in areas with medium (OR=1.086, 95%CI: 1.006-1.173) or underdeveloped (OR=1.298, 95%CI: 1.191-1.415) economic level, had higher academic levels (junior high school, OR=1.380, 95%CI: 1.270-1.499; senior high school, OR=1.210, 95%CI: 1.083-1.351), lived on campus (OR=1.489, 95%CI: 1.372-1.616), engaged in fights (OR=6.029, 95%CI: 5.585-6.509), attempted to smoke (OR=1.320, 95%CI: 1.128-1.545), drank (OR=1.735, 95%CI: 1.575-1.912), were scolded and beaten by parents (OR=1.972, 95%CI: 1.822-2.135) and were obese (OR=1.240, 95%CI: 1.132-1.360) were more likely to experience school bullying.

		                        			Conclusion
The harm of school bullying to the physical and mental health of primary and middle school students should be taken seriously, and active policy measures should be adopted to strengthen intervention.

		                        			Objective:
To investigate the prevalence and associated factors of depressive symptoms among middle and high school students in Zhejiang Province, so as to provide scientific basis for the implementation of depressive intervention.

		                        			Methods:
Based on the health status and associated factors of middle and high school students in the project "Monitoring of Common Diseases and Health Influencing Factors of Students" during 2018 to 2021, a total of 73 309 students including middle school, ordinary high school and vocational high school surveyed in 11 cities of Zhejiang Province were selected by multi stage stratified cluster random sampling method. From 2018 to 2021, there were 6 008, 21 917, 23 712 and 21 672 students, respectively. The Chi square test and Logistic regression model were used to analyze the influencing factors of depressive symptoms in middle and high school students.

		                        			Results:
From 2018 to 2021, depressive symptoms detection rate of middle school students was 14.8%, with higher rate in girls (17.1%) than in boys (12.7%), higher rate in high school (17.1% in ordinary high school, 17.6% in vocational high school) than middle school (12.5%)( χ 2=278.77, 327.22, P <0.05). Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in depressive symptoms detection rate among middle school students with different years (2018: 16.7%,2019: 17.9% , 2020: 13.1%, 2021: 13.0%), residence (yes: 16.3%, no:13.5%), body mass index classification (not overweight or obesity: 14.8%, overweight: 14.2%, Obesity: 15.7%), weekly exercise days (0-2 d: 17.1%, 3-5 d: 12.5%, 6-7 d: 13.1%) and bullying (yes: 35.5%, no: 10.7%) ( χ 2=293.40, 118.35, 7.83, 287.24, 4 978.84, P <0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that female students, ordinary high schools, vocational high schools, obesity, school bullying were positively correlated with depression ( OR =1.65, 1.70, 1.60, 1.12, 5.21), exercise 3 to 5 days per week, exercise 6 to 7 days per week were negatively correlated with depression ( OR=0.77, 0.81, P <0.01).

ObjectiveTo explore the biological foundation of colorectal adenoma in damp-heat accumulation syndrome and the possible anti-tumor mechanism of Shenbai Jiedu prescription. MethodEight patients with colorectal adenoma in damp-heat accumulation syndrome, 11 patients with non-damp-heat accumulation syndrome, and 10 patients with colorectal cancer recruited by Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2019 to December 2020 meeting the inclusion criteria were clinically obtained, and the tissue of the three groups of patients was subjected to transcriptome sequencing to screen for the differentially expressed genes between the syndrome and the diseases. The intersection of the differentially expressed genes between the syndrome and the disease was taken for further screening of the differentially expressed genes sequentially increasing or sequentially decreasing in patients with non-damp-heat accumulation syndrome, damp-heat accumulation syndrome, and colorectal cancer, and functional enrichment analysis and signaling pathway enrichment analysis were carried out. Real-time polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR) was used to detect the effect of Shenbai Jiedu prescription on the expression of the above key differential genes. ResultBy comparing the damp-heat accumulation syndrome and non-damp-heat accumulation syndrome, a total of 384 differentially expressed genes were screened, of which 203 were up-regulated genes, and 181 were down-regulated genes. By comparing the colorectal adenoma of colorectal cancer and damp-heat accumulation syndrome, a total of 2 965 differentially expressed genes were screened, of which 2 460 were up-regulated genes, and 505 were down-regulated genes. The intersection of differentially expressed genes of the two groups was taken, and a total of 58 differentially expressed genes with the same changes were screened. The gene ontology functions were mainly enriched in UDP-galactose: β-N-acetylglucosamine beta-1,3-galactosyltransferase activity, N-acetyllactosaminide beta-1,3-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase activity, and poly-N-acetyllactosamine biosynthetic process. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) signaling pathways were mainly enriched in glycosphingolipid biosynthesis-globo and isoglobo series, glycosphingolipid biosynthesis-lacto and neolacto series, and IL-17 signaling pathway. Shenbai Jiedu prescription significantly inhibited the expression of key genes involved in the enrichment, such as FOSB and B3GALT5, in a dose-dependent manner (P<0.05). ConclusionGlycolipid metabolism may be the biological foundation of colorectal adenoma in damp-heat accumulation syndrome, and Shenbai Jiedu prescription may inhibit colorectal adenoma carcinogenesis by down-regulating the expression of FOSB and B3GALT5.

10.Correlation between refractive development and physical growth indices in primary school students aged 6-9 years in Guangdong Province
Chinese Journal of School Health 2024;45(7):936-940

		                        			Objective:
To analyze the correlation between refractive errors and physical development indicators among primary school students aged 6 to 9, so as to provide a scientific basis for the development of effective prevention and control measures.

		                        			Methods:
A stratified cluster random sampling method was used to recruit 2 833 elementary school students aged 6 to 9 from Guangdong Province for vision screening, ocular biometry, and physical examinations in Octorber, 2020. The Chi square test, t-test, and ANOVA were employed to compare myopia rates and indicator values across different groups. Multiple linear regression models were used to analyze the correlations between height, weight, and body mass index (BMI) with refractive development indicators.

		                        			Results:
The screening myopia rate among primary school students aged 6 to 9 was 16.7%, and the myopia rate increased with age ( χ 2= 51.58 , P <0.01). The height and weight of the myopic group [(126.96±7.41)cm, (26.59±6.45)kg] were higher than those of the non myopic group [(124.76±7.77)cm, (25.42±5.87)kg] ( t =5.84, 3.65, P <0.01). The mean values of spherical equivalent (SE), axial length (AL), anterior chamber depth (ACD), and AL/corneal curvature radius (CR) ratio for students aged 6 to 9 were (-0.17±1.04)D, (22.96±0.78)mm, (3.38±0.24)mm, and (2.95±0.08), respectively, with statistically significant differences across different age and myopia severity groups ( t =37.08, 119.20, 41.54, 133.60; 935.30, 184.10, 73.95, 498.50, P < 0.01). After adjusting for gender, age, and residence, the multiple linear regression model showed that height was positively correlated with AL and CR, weight was positively correlated with ACD, and BMI was positively correlated with AL and ACD ( β = 0.191 , 0.070, 0.035, 0.013, 0.007, P <0.05). When stratified by myopia status, results for the non-myopic group were similar to the overall results, whereas in the myopic group, the correlations between height, BMI, and AL were not statistically significant ( P > 0.05).

		                        			Conclusions
Among primary school students aged 6 to 9, height and BMI are positively correlated with AL in the non myopic group but no similar correlation is observed in the myopic group, indicating that factors other than physical development, such as environmental and behavioral factors, should be considered for their impact on refractive development.
