ObjectiveBased on the concept of quality by design(QbD), the processing process of calcined Pyritum was optimized, and its X-ray diffraction(XRD) fingerprint was established. MethodsThe safety, effectiveness and quality controllability of calcined Pyritum were taken as the quality profile(QTPP), the color, hardness, metallic luster, phase composition, the contents of heavy metals and hazardous elements were taken as the critical quality attributes(CQAs), and the calcination temperature, calcination time, paving thickness and particle size were determined as the critical process parameters(CPPs). Differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction(XRD) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) were used to analyze the correlation between the calcination temperature and CQAs of calcined Pyritum. Then, based on the criteria importance through intercriteria correlation(CRITIC)-entropy weight method, the optimal processing process of calcined Pyritum was optimized by orthogonal test. Powder XRD was used to analyze the phase of calcined Pyritum samples processed according to the best process, and the mean and median maps of calcined Pyritum were established by the superposition of geometric topological figures, and similarity evaluation and cluster analysis were carried out. ResultsThe results of single factor experiments showed that the physical phase of Pyritum changed from FeS2 to Fe7S8 during the process of temperature increase, the color gradually deepened from dark yellow, and the contents of heavy metals and harmful elements decreased. The optimized processing process of calcined Pyritum was as follows:calcination temperature at 750 ℃, calcination time of 2.5 h, paving thickness of 3 cm, particle size of 0.8-1.2 cm, vinegar quenching 1 time[Pyritum-vinegar(10∶3)]. After calcination, the internal structure of Pyritum was honeycomb-shaped, which was conducive to the dissolution of active ingredients. XRD fingerprints of 13 batches of calcined Pyritum characterized by 10 common peaks were established. The similarities of the relative peak intensities of the XRD fingerprints of the analyzed samples were>0.96, and it could effectively distinguish the raw products and unqualified products. ConclusionTemperature is the main factor affecting the quality of calcined Pyritum. After processing, the dissolution of the effective components in Pyritum increases, and the contents of heavy metals and harmful substances decrease, reflecting the function of processing to increase efficiency and reduce toxicity. The optimized processing process is stable and feasible, and the established XRD fingerprint can be used as one of the quality control standards of calcined Pyritum.

PURPOSE: Intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI)was evaluated regarding its ability to preliminarily predict the short-term treatment response of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) following intensity-modulated radiation therapy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: IVIM-DWI with 14 b-factors (0-1,000 sec/mm2) was performed with a 3T MR system on 47 consecutive NPCs before, during (end of the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, and 25th fractions), and after fractional radiotherapy. IVIM parametrics (D, f, and D*) were calculated and compared to the baseline and xth fraction. Patients were categorized into responders and non-responders after radiotherapy. IVIM parametrics were also compared between subgroups. RESULTS: After fractional radiations, the D (except D5 and D at the end of the 5th fraction) after radiations were larger than the baseline D0 (p < 0.05), and the post-radiation D* (except D*5 and D*10) were smaller than D*0 (p < 0.05). f0 was smaller than f5 and f10 (p < 0.001) but larger than fend (p < 0.05). Furthermore, greater D5, D10, D15, and f10 coupled with smaller f0, D*20, and D*25 were observed in responders than non-responders (all p < 0.01). Responders also presented larger ΔD10, Δf10, ΔD*20, and δD*20 than non-responders (p < 0.05). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis indicated that the D5, D*20, and f10 could better differentiate responders from non-responders. CONCLUSION: IVIM-DWI could efficiently assess tumor treatment response to fractional radiotherapy and predict the radio-sensitivity for NPCs.

This paper studied the influence ofsurface preponderantfungi on main effective substances of CitriReticulatae Pericarpium (CRP).Spreading plate method was used to isolatepredominant strains from the surface of CRP.Besides, the method combining microscopic and molecular identification was also adopted.HPLC and UVspectrophotometric methods were used to determine the main effective substances in CRP.From thesurface of CRP,the advantage strain fungi were Aspergillusniger and A.Flavus.After the inoculation of A.Niger and A.flavus against CRP,the effective compositionwas changed. And different A.niger strains had differenceeffectiveness oneffective chemical components, especially one strain of A.niger.Compared withthe control group, contents of total flavonoids and hesperidin were significantly increased (P<0.01);and five types of obvious new chemical compositions were produced. It was concluded that the metabolic transformation of fungi was related tochanges ofeffective substances of CRP,which played a significant role in the aging process of CRP.The growth and metabolism of fungi consumeeffeetive substances and producechanges of composition. From the perspective of microorganisms,"the older, the better" of CRP hasa better explanation.

This article was aimed to determine effects of Jia-Shen prescription (JSP) on infarct size (IS), cardiac function and myocardial cytokine in the early phase of myocardial infarction (MI) in rats. Acute MI models were induced by the ligation of left anterior descending coronary artery in Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. The rats were ran-domly divided into five groups, which were the sham-operated group, model group, JSP-3 g (3 g·kg-1·day-1) group, JSP-6 g (6 g·kg-1·day-1) group, and the losartan (10 mg·kg-1·day-1) group. IS was determined by Evans blue and 2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) 3 days after MI. The left ventricular structure and contractility were measured by echocardiography performed 7 days after MI. And contents of myocardial inflammatory mediators in-cluding tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1β(IL-1β), and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) were measured by ELISA. The results showed that compared with the model group, treatment with JSP at the dose of 6 g significantly reduced myocardial IS (P<0.05);left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD) and left ventricu-lar end systolic diameter (LVESD) were significantly decreased (P<0.05); left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular fraction shortening (LVFS) were significantly increased (P<0.05).The results were similar as the losartan group. Compared with the model group, JSP can significantly reduce the production of TNF-α, IL-1βand MCP-1 in cardiac tissues (P<0.05). Except TNF-α, these effects of JSP were in a dose-dependent manner. JSP (6 g) had equal effectiveness with losartan. It was concluded that consistent with losartan-induced cardioprotection, JSP administered after MI reduced myocardial IS, improved cardiac function, and decreased inflammatory mediators in ischemic myocardium. The data indicated that JSP exerted its cardioprotection possibly via inhibiting inflammatory response.

In order to clarify the cellulose-utilizing mechanism of the Cerambycidae, the microorganism in the Apriona germari(Hope) larvae's gut was cultured and identified. A strain of facultative anaerobic cellulose-utilizing bacteria was isolated from the midgut fluid of A. germari larvae with the cellulose-congo red agar medium. The colonies of the bacteria were white and round with regular margin. Clear zones of cellulolysis surrounding the colonies might reach 10m~20mm. The size of the bacteria was 0.5μm~0. 8μm× l~3μm approximately. The cell was gram-positive rod with polar flagella. It hadn't spores. With the results of biochemical tests, the bacteria were tentatively identified as Cellulomonas.
