Objective:To investigate the impact of overweight/obesity on postoperative complications in breast reduction surgery. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on patients who underwent breast reduction surgery in our hospital from 2016 to 2022. Basic patient information and postoperative complications, such as poor wound healing, infection, hematoma, nipple necrosis, etc., were collected. Patients were categorized into normal/low weight group and overweight/obese group according to their body mass index (BMI). The differences in postoperative complications between the two groups were compared and statistically analyzed. Results:The study included 82 patients, 48 in the normal/low weight group and 34 in the overweight/obese group. The gender, age, and surgical methods of the two groups of patients were relatively balanced, and there was no statistical difference. However, the incidence of postoperative complications was 50.0% (17/34) in overweight/obeseitg group, higher than 18.8% (9/48) in normal/low weight group. Common complications included delayed healing such as infection or dehiscence in 8 cases (9.8%), skin necrosis in 5 cases (6.1%), and hypertrophic scars in 5 cases (6.1%). The incidence of skin necrosis and delayed healing in the overweight/obese group was higher than that in the normal/low weight group, but the difference was not statistically significant ( P>0.05). Postoperative hematoma and hypertrophic scars occurred in both groups, while fat liquefaction and thrombosis only occurred in the overweight/obese group. Conclusions:Overweight/obesity is an important risk factor for postoperative complications in breast reduction surgery. Patients should be evaluated before surgery, and necessary measures should be taken to reduce the risk of complications.

Objective:To investigate the serum thyroglobulin (Tg) levels of women in early pregnancy in Dali City, Yunnan Province, and provide a scientific basis for evaluation of individual iodine nutrition of early pregnant women in this area. Methods:Dali City, Yunnan Province was divided into 5 sampling areas according to east, west, south, north and middle. One township (town) was selected from each area, and at least 20 women in early pregnancy were selected from each township (town) as survey subjects. General condition and medical history of all subjects were collected, and random urine samples and fasting venous blood samples were collected for determination of urinary iodine and thyroid function indexes, and a portable ultrasound machine was used for thyroid ultrasonography. After excluding the patients with a history of thyroid disease and abnormal thyroid function, the level of Tg in the included early pregnant women was analyzed. Results:A total of 120 women in early pregnancy were investigated, aged from 19 to 40 years. Among them, 61 cases came from urban areas and 59 were from rural areas. The median urinary iodine was 156.54 μg/L, which was at the appropriate level of iodine nutrition. A total of 102 women with normal thyroid function in early pregnancy were included, and the Tg level was 11.56 (6.67, 15.27) ng/ml. Among them, 58 cases were in urban areas and 44 cases were in rural areas. There was no significant difference in serum Tg levels between rural and urban women in early pregnancy ( U = 1 362.50, P = 0.559). Conclusion:The serum Tg level of women in early pregnancy in Dali City can provide a reference for evaluation of individual iodine nutrition of relevant populations in this area.

Ferroptosis, as a newly discovered cell death form, has become an attractive target for precision cancer therapy. Several ferroptosis therapy strategies based on nanotechnology have been reported by either increasing intracellular iron levels or by inhibition of glutathione (GSH)-dependent lipid hydroperoxidase glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4). However, the strategy by simultaneous iron delivery and GPX4 inhibition has rarely been reported. Herein, novel tumor microenvironments (TME)-activated metal-organic frameworks involving Fe & Cu ions bridged by disulfide bonds with PEGylation (FCSP MOFs) were developed, which would be degraded specifically under the redox TME, simultaneously achieving GSH-depletion induced GPX4 inactivation and releasing Fe ions to produce ROS

The human adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1)gene is highly polymorphic. Some polymorphisms in promoters (rs2422493 ,rs2740483 ,etc. ) and exons (rs2230806 ,rs4149313 ,etc. )have been reported to be significantly associated with coronary heart disease(CHD ). In terms of the underlying mechanisms ,ABCA1 gene polymorphisms might be associated with CHD through modulating the levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and other lipids ,or through changing ABCA1 protein structure and function. In this article ,the association of ABCA1 gene polymorphisms with CHD and the underlying mechanisms are reviewed.

[Objective]To explore the possible effects of the apolipoprotein A5(APOA5)gene rs2075291 and rs3135507 poly-morphisms on plasma lipid levels and the severity of coronary stenosis in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)in Chinese Han people.[Methods]Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method(PCR-RFLP)was used to identify the genotypes of the rs2075291 or rs3135507 polymorphism for the 324 patients with CHD and the 152 CHD-free controls, and the lipid levels between the genotypes were compared. The severity of coronary stenosis was assessed by the Gensini scoring system ,and the associations of the rs2075291 and rs3135507 polymorphisms as well as other factors with the Gensini scores were analyzed by mul-tivariate linear regression.[Results]The CHD patients had higher prevalence of hypertension ,and higher levels of triglycerides (TG),total cholesterol(TC),apolipoprotein B100(APOB100),lipoprotein(a)[Lp(a)],TG/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C),TC/HDL-C,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)/HDL-C and APOB100/apolipoprotein AI(APOAI),and low-er levels of HDL-C and APOAI than the controls(P < 0.05 for all). The rs2075291 or rs3135507 allele and genotype frequencies were similar between the CHD group and the control group. The subjects with the rs2075291 GT genotype had higher levels of TG and TG/HDL-C,and lower levels of HDL-C than the subjects with the GG genotype in controls(P < 0.05 for all). In CHD patients, those with the rs2075291 GT genotype had higher levels of TG/HDL-C and TC/HDL-C than the patients with the GG genotype(P<0.05 for both). Regarding the rs3135507 polymorphism, the A allele carriers had lower level of APOB100 than the patients with the GG genotype(P<0.05). No significant association between the rs2075291 or rs3135507 polymorphism and the Gensini scores were detected by multivariate linear regression(P > 0.05).[Conclusion]The APOA5 rs2075291 polymorphism had significant effects on plasma lipid levels, but no effects on the occurrence and development of CHD. Further multicenter case-control studies with large samples are needed to validate these findings.
