Objective:To analyze the clinical effect of micronutrient-assisted treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods:The databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) , Wanfang Data, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, PubMed, Web of Science and The Cochrane Library were searched by computer. The literature search time limit was from the establishment of the database to December 2019. Two researchers strictly followed the inclusion and exclusion criteria to evaluate the quality of the literatures, and then used RevMan 5.3 software to perform Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 12 randomized controlled trials (RCT) were included. Meta-analysis results showed that the effect of vitamin A on the hemoglobin level of patients was statistically significantly different from that of placebo [ MD=0.46, 95% CI (0.14, 0.77) , P=0.01]. Compared with placebo, the effect of zinc on hemoglobin level was statistically significantly different [ MD=0.32, 95% CI (0.04, 0.61) , P=0.03]. Compared with placebo, the effect of zinc on mortality was statistically significantly different [ RD=0.06, 95% CI (0.01, 0.11) , P=0.02]. Compared with the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in micronutrients in negative conversion rates of tuberculosis sputum smear ( P> 0.05) . Conclusions:The intake of micronutrients can increase the hemoglobin level and reduce the fatality rate of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, but it has little influence on the negative conversion rate of tuberculosis sputum smear.

Journal of Gynecologic Oncology 2019;30(5):e77-
OBJECTIVES: Pseudolaric acid B (PAB) has been shown to inhibit the growth of various tumor cells, but the molecular details of its function are still unknown. This study investigated the molecular mechanisms by which PAB induces apoptosis in HeLa cells. METHODS: The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assays were performed to investigate the effect of PAB treatment in various cervical cancer cell lines. Annexin V/propidium iodide staining combined with flow cytometry and Hoechst 33258 staining were used to assess PAB-induced apoptosis. Additionally, we performed bioinformatics analyses and identified a paired box 2 (PAX2) binding site on the BAX promoter. We then validated the binding using luciferase and chromatin immunoprecipitation assays. Finally, western blotting assays were used to investigate PAB effect on the Wnt signaling and the involved signaling molecules. RESULTS: PAB promotes apoptosis and downregulates PAX2 expression in HeLa cells in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. PAX2 binds to the promoter of BAX and inhibits its expression; therefore, PAX2 inhibition is associated with increased levels of BAX, which induces apoptosis of HeLa cells via the mitochondrial pathway. Additionally, PAB inhibits classical Wnt signaling. CONCLUSION: PAB effectively inhibits Wnt signaling and PAX2 expression, and increases BAX levels, which induce apoptosis in HeLa cells. Therefore, PAB is a promising natural molecule for the treatment of cervical cancer.

A simple and sensitive capillary electrophoresis method with field-enhanced stacking concentration for the analysis of protocatechuic aldehyde, protocatechuic acid, danshensu, rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid B in Salvia miltiorrhiza var. miltiorrhiza f. alba was developed. The separation was achieved with a fused-silica capillary (75 microm x 50.2 cm, effective length was 40 cm) and a running buffer 15 mmol x L(-1) borax (pH 10.0) containing 20% CH3 OH. The UV detection wavelength was 210 nm. The applied voltage was 28 kV, and the cartridge temperature was 25 degrees C. Water plug was introduced from the anode by 0.5 psi x 4 s before injection. Sample was injected by electrokinetic injection - 8 kV x 3 s. The linear range of protocatechuic aldehyde is 3.0-60.00 mg x L(-1) (R2 = 0.999 8); that of protocatechuic acid, danshensu, rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid B are 1.0-20.00 mg x L(-1) (R2 are 0.999 1, 0.999 4, 0.998 9 and 0.999 8, respectively), and the limits of detection of five analyts are 0.55, 0.40, 0.25, 0.32, 0.38 microg x L(-1), respectively, Stacking factor is higher and precision is satisfactory. The recoveries ranges were from 97.3% to 99.8%. The proposed method was used to determine the protocatechuic aldehyde, protocatechuic acid, danshensu, rosmarinic acid and salvianolic acid B in S. miltiorrhiza var. miltiorrhiza f. alba. The proposed method is simple, rapid, accurate and high sensitivity, and can be used to control of the quality of S. miltiorrhiza var. miltiorrhiza f. alba.
