7.Public effect of the 2022 Colorectal Cancer Awareness Campaign delivered through a metaverse platform

		                        			 Purpose:
		                        			The Korean Society of Coloproctology has been conducting Colorectal Cancer Awareness Campaign, also known as the Gold Ribbon Campaign, every September since 2007. The 2022 campaign was held through a metaverse platform targeting the younger age group under the slogan of raising awareness of early-onset colorectal cancer (CRC). This study aimed to analyze the impact of the 2022 campaign on a metaverse platform. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			Anonymized survey data were collected from participants in the metaverse campaign from September 1 to 15, 2022. The satisfaction score of the participants was evaluated by sex, age group, and previous campaign participation status. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			During the campaign, 2,770 people visited the metaverse. Among them, 455 people participated in the survey (response rate, 16.4%). Approximately 95% of the participants reported being satisfied with the information provided by the campaign, understood the necessity of undergoing screening for and prevention of early-onset CRC, and were familiar with the structure of the metaverse. The satisfaction score for campaign information tended to decrease as the participants’ age increased. When the participants’ overall level of satisfaction with the metaverse platform was assessed, teenagers scored particularly lower than the other age groups. The satisfaction scores for CRC information provided in the metaverse, as well as the scores for recognizing the seriousness and necessity of screening for early-onset CRC, indicated a high positive tendency (P<0.001). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			Most of the 2022 Gold Ribbon Campaign participants were satisfied with the metaverse platform. Medical society should pay attention to increasing participation in and satisfaction with future public campaigns. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
8.Influence of Depression and Subjective Health Status on COVID-19 Vaccine Acceptance: Based on the 2021 Community Health Survey

		                        			 Background:
		                        			Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a novel coronavirus identified in 2019 that exhibited an exceptionally rapid spread. Although the development and administration of COVID-19 vaccines progressed quickly, concerns about side effects and safety persisted. This study utilized data from the 2021 Community Health Survey to analyze the relationship between COVID-19 vaccination and psychosocial factors, including depression and subjective health status. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			Analysis included 203,449 individuals, excluding those who had not received or were ineligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, based on the 2021 Community Health Survey. The chi-square tests assessed sociodemographic and health status differences related to vaccination status. Subjective health status was categorized based on survey responses as ‘good’ or ‘poor,’ and depression was assessed using the self-reported Patient Health Questionnaire-9. The association between depression, subjective health status, and vaccination status was examined using chi-square tests, followed by multiple logistic regression to determine independent effects. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Vaccination rates were higher among the elderly, those with lower education, higher income, healthcare workers, and individuals with lower depression, higher subjective health, and chronic conditions like hypertension or diabetes. Significantly lower vaccination rates were observed in those with lower subjective health and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 scores ≥5 or ≥10. Among individuals with chronic illnesses, those with good subjective health had the lowest odds for non-vaccination (odds ratio=0.42; 95% confidence interval, 0.39-0.45), while those without chronic illnesses and poor subjective health had the highest odds (odds ratio=1.89; 95% confidence interval, 1.76-2.02). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			This study found significantly higher odds ratios for vaccine non-receipt among individuals with lower levels of depression and subjective health status. Incorporating psychosocial factors such as depression and subjective health status may be crucial in developing strategies to enhance vaccination rates during future outbreaks of novel infectious diseases. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
9.Epidemiology of Second Non-breast Primary Cancers among Survivors of Breast Cancer: A Korean Population–Based Study by the SMARTSHIP Group

		                        			 Purpose:
		                        			This study aimed to evaluate the incidence and prognosis of second non-breast primary cancer (SNBPC) among Korean survivors of breast cancer. 
		                        		
		                        			Materials and Methods:
		                        			Data from the Korean National Health Insurance Service were searched to identify women who received curative surgery for initial breast cancer (IBC) between 2003 and 2008 (n=64,340). Among them, patients with the following characteristics were excluded: other cancer diagnosis before IBC (n=10,866), radiotherapy before IBC (n=349), absence of data on sex or age (n=371), or male (n=248). Accordingly, data of 52,506 women until December 2017 were analyzed. SNBPC was defined as a newly diagnosed SNBPC that occurred 5 years or more after IBC diagnosis. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The median follow-up time of all patients was 12.13 years. SNBPC was developed in 3,084 (5.87%) women after a median of 7.61 years following IBC diagnosis. The 10-year incidence of SNBPC was 5.78% (95% confidence interval [CI], 5.56 to 6.00). Higher SNBPC incidence was found in survivors with the following factors: old age at IBC diagnosis, low household income, and receiving combined chemotherapy with endocrine therapy, whereas receiving radiotherapy was related to a lower incidence of SNBPC (hazard ratio, 0.89; p < 0.01). Among the patients with SNBPC, the 5-year survival rate was 62.28% (95% CI, 65.53 to 69.02). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			Approximately 5% of breast cancer survivors developed SNBPC within 10 years after IBC diagnosis. The risk of SNBPC was associated with patient’s age at IBC diagnosis, income level, and a receipt of systemic treatments. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
10.Interstitial Inflammation in the ISN/RPS 2018 Classification of Lupus Nephritis Predicts Renal Outcomes and is Associated With Bcl-2 Expression

		                        			 Objective:
		                        			To investigate the histopathological characteristics of patients with lupus nephritis in the 2018 revised International Society of Nephrology/Renal Pathology Society (ISN/RPS) classification and assess the prognostic factors. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			This study enrolled 92 patients with lupus nephritis, who had conventional treatment and renal biopsy. Each renal tissue was evaluated according to 2018 ISN/RPS classification, and quantified apoptotic regulator protein, the B-cell lymphoma-2 protein (Bcl-2), expressions in selected lymphocyte subsets were measured using novel computational approaches using multicolor confocal images. Histopathological characteristics and prognostic factors of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) were compared. Follow-up data were obtained, and survival analysis was conducted. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			During follow-up period (average: 74.3 months), 16 and 18 patients progressed ESRD and CKD, respectively. Multivariable analysis of age, sex, disease activity and pathological features in ISN/RPS demonstrated the extent of interstitial inflammation (grade 0~3) was significantly associated with both ESRD and CKD. When interstitial inflammation was divided into mild (grade 0, 1) and severe (grade 2, 3), Cox regression analysis showed that patients with severe interstitial inflammation were significantly increased risk of both ESRD and CKD (hazard ratio: 4.67 and 3.8, respectively). Bcl-2 expression in CD4+ and CD20 cells was significantly higher in the severe interstitial inflammation group compared to in mild interstitial inflammation patients (p=0.006 and 0.010, respectively). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			The extent of interstitial inflammation can predict clinical renal outcomes. Significantly elevated Bcl-2 expression in both CD4+ and CD20 cells was found in severe interstitial inflammation compared with mild interstitial inflammation.
