The mutual learning between Chinese and Western civilizations today provides a broad perspective and new opportunity for the development of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM）， fostering the interdisciplinary integration， fusion， and innovation of the discipline. The premise of mutual understanding of civilizations is uphold the principles of Chinese traditional scholarship and original thinking， overcome academic barriers and cognitive differences， and achieve the organic integration of knowledge systems and research methods. The development of TCM as a discipline should first be based on literature as a carrier to convey ideas and ensure the continuity of the academic tradition. Secondly， the discipline development should be guided by the unique， original thinking of TCM， accurately identifying the bottlenecks in its development， focusing on the key links for improvement， continuously exploring innovative academic paths， and striving to build a leading research platform. Finally， the cultivation of talents in the field of TCM discipline should focus on leading ones with international academic discourse power and influence， and establish an academic team with clinical thinking and interdisciplinary knowledge structure.

Under the background of the Healthy China strategy， the integration of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） into the public health emergency response system has become an important measure to enhance the capacity for coping with public health emergencies. In recent years， the role of TCM in responding to such emergencies has become increasingly prominent. Taking major emerging epidemics as an example， TCM has developed a rich theoretical system and practical experience in epidemic prevention and treatment over thousands of years， and has played a significant role in successive outbreaks with its unique advantages. Based on the concept of ''preventing disease before its onset'' and the theoretical framework of treatment based on syndrome differentiation， TCM has achieved remarkable results through early intervention and full participation in the integrated model of TCM and Western medicine， from severe acute respiratory syndrome （SARS） to corona virus disease-2019 （COVID-19）， in improving clinical symptoms and outcomes， reducing adverse reactions， and promoting recovery. From the perspective of the Healthy China strategy， this paper systematically reviews the historical development of TCM in epidemic prevention and treatment， with particular attention to recent epidemics such as SARS， influenza A （H1N1）， and COVID-19. It further examines the similarities and differences between TCM and Western medicine in responding to major emerging epidemics， as well as relevant policies related to TCM in epidemic prevention and control. In addition， it summarizes the existing problems in TCM's role in the prevention and treatment of major emerging epidemics， and explores measures to improve its rapid response capacity under the Healthy China strategy. This study not only provides a ''Chinese solution'' for the prevention and control of newly emerging infectious diseases worldwide， but also offers theoretical and practical references for strengthening the public health emergency response system， carrying strategic significance for promoting the modernization and internationalization of TCM.

This article summarizes Academician WANG Yongyan′s experience in the differentiation and treatment of motor neuron disease, which can be categorized into flaccidity syndrome, convulsive syndrome, and fei syndrome according to the clinical manifestations. These three syndromes may coexist, and the condition progressively worsens over time, which is believed to be caused by external pathogenic qi, based on "deficient-qi induced stagnation" , and with "toxins damaging collaterals" as the core etiology and pathogenesis. "Toxins damaging collaterals" involves three levels of qi collaterals, blood collaterals, and fluid collaterals, gradually overlapping and affecting the marrow collaterals. Academician WANG Yongyan′s theory is based on syndrome differentiation, breaking down the boundaries of flaccidity, convulsive, and fei syndromes according to different manifestations of the disease, and using the concept of "combined treatment" for treatment. The clinical presentation of motor neuron disease shows a bottom-up trend in the development of the sanjiao, and the combination of visceral syndrome differentiation and sanjiao syndrome differentiation can grasp the progress of the disease comprehensively. During the process of syndrome differentiation, the focus is on the use of xiang thinking, emphasizing the holistic correlation between diseases and syndromes and the integrated effect of reductionist analysis. Treatment is based on xiang differentiation and individualized treatment. The mid-stage of motor neuron disease is the key time point for the treatment of this disease. Based on the clinical symptoms of flaccidity, convulsive, and fei syndromes, where treatment should focus on reinforcing the spleen and kidney, combining moxibustion with herbal medicine. While targeting the disease, treatment should comprehensively apply the methods of "promoting, supplementing, softening, and warming" to eliminate toxins and unblock collaterals, and restore the neural regulation of the brain and spinal cord.

In the context of the current era when different civilizations are learning from each other， traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） needs to continuously draw the essence from modern scientific and technological civilization for creative inheritance and innovative development. It is essential to master the classic texts of TCM to solidify its theoretical foundation， while also read extensively to broaden the academic horizons. TCM's inheritance and innovation should be integrated with the current era's context and social reality， and delve into the essence of TCM's academic experience and clinical practice. Emphasis should be placed on the inheritance of original TCM thinking， and return to the original image creation and transformation. Using image thinking as the main approach， and combined it with modern complex systems science and front-edge methodologies， we could elaborate the TCM theories such as correspondence between nature and human， five circuits and six qi， constitution and endowment， and harmony of body and spirit. The training of academic talents must be at the forefront， closely follow the new trends of the development of contemporary scientific and technological civilization， identify the “pain points” of discipline development， focus on the key areas for improvement， and seek the highlights of academic research. There should be a courage to question and propose new insights， construct new concepts， establish new theories， transform the weakness in original theoretical innovation， and enrich the evolving connotation of TCM.

This article explores the practical situation,construction significance,core points,and enhancement dimensions in constructing the discourse system of traditional Chinese medicine from a macro perspective.It also examines the ways linguistics can help alleviate the challenges in this process.The discourse system of traditional Chinese medicine has gone through three stages.The theory is currently unclear,and the discourse cannot be transmitted without fundamentally solving the problem of"aphasia."The discourse system of traditional Chinese medicine is an inevitable requirement for creating modern and international traditional Chinese medicine models.Its construction must form a subjective understanding of the discourse system,strengthen the advantage of originality,establish an expression paradigm of original system interpretation and new expressions of modern novel quality development,and build an influential international discourse system.The improvement dimension of the discourse system of traditional Chinese medicine should focus on domestic popularization and global dissemination.Strong strategic support should be provided using the epistemological and methodological frameworks of both traditional and modern linguistics.

To summarize the experience of Professor CAO Hongxin in syndrome differentiation and treatment of allergic rhinitis. Based on the clinical and pathological characteristics of allergic rhinitis， it is believed that its main pathogenesis is zang-fu organs deficiency or retention of latent pathogens， and affected by external pathogens， resulting in a decrease in the body's adaptability to the external environment， so the body showed as healthy qi deficiency and pathogenic qi excess， accumulation of pathogens in the nasal cavity， and unfavorable clearing of the cavity， leading to allergic rhinitis. In clinic， it is often divided into three syndromes for treatment： deficiency of lung and spleen qi， and disharmony between ying and wei qi； kidney deficiency and lung heat， and wind pathogen invading the lungs； liver and gallbladder stagnation and heat， and wind pathogen attacking the exterior. The prescriptions were recommended to apply Yupingfeng Powder （玉屏风散） plus Guizhi Decoction （桂枝汤）， self-prescribed Jingfang Guishao Dihuang Decoction （荆防桂芍地黄汤）， and modified Qingkong Decoction （清空汤）， respectively.

Objective:To explore the compatibility and medication law of Cinnamomi Ramulus-Alismatis Rhizoma medicinal pair in ancient and modern prescriptions.Methods:Ancient prescriptions and Chinese patent medicines containing Cinnamomi Ramulus-Alismatis Rhizoma medicinal pair were retrieved from the database of ancient classic famous prescriptions 1.0 and the database of listed Chinese patent medicines 1.0 developed by the Institute of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. Excel 2019 was used to establish a database. The ancient and modern medical record cloud platform V2.3.5 and SPSS Modeler 18.0 software were used to perform frequency statistics, association rule analysis, clustering analysis, etc. on the data.Results:Totally 79 ancient articles with Cinnamomi Ramulus-Alismatis Rhizoma medicinal pair were obtained, including 76 ancient prescriptions, involving 250 kinds of Chinese materia medica; 25 kinds of Chinese patent medicine were obtained, involving 186 kinds of Chinese materia medica. The drug properties of ancient prescriptions and modern TCM patent medicines were both mainly warm, cold and neutral. The main tastes of ancient prescriptions and modern Chinese patent medicines were pungent, sweet and bitter. And the drugs mainly belong to spleen, lung, liver and kidney meridians. Correlation analysis suggested the same high-frequency association compatibility of ancient and modern prescriptions, Poria-Cinnamomi Ramulus-Alismatis Rhizoma, Atractylodis Rhizoma-Cinnamomi Ramulus-Alismatis Rhizoma, Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma-Cinnamomi Ramulus-Alismatis Rhizoma. Both clinical symptoms and diseases associated with medicinal compatibility of ancient prescriptions were intestinal flora, edema and vomiting. The syndrome types included bladder impoundment, dampness trapped in the guardian surface, internal retention of phlegm and morbid fluid. The clinical symptoms associated with medicinal compatibility of modern TCM patent medicine were limb joints pain and edema. The diseases included rheumatic arthritis (RA) and kidney disease. The syndrome types included wind-cold-dampness RA, stagnation of collaterals and kidney yang deficiency. High frequency drug clustering yielded 4 clustered squares.Conclusion:The core indications treated by Cinnamomi Ramulus-Alismatis Rhizoma are exogenous diseases with dampness caused by syndrome types including internal storage of water-dampness, cold-dampness obstruction and so on, which can provide reference for further in-depth research and guidance on clinical medication.
