Objective To investigate the correlation between optimal placement depth(OPD)and physical measurement parameters in preterm infants receiving placement of peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC)through the great saphenous vein(GSV),and to establish a predictive formula for OPD during the placement of PICC through the GSV.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the preterm infants who received the placement of PICC through the GSV in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from December 2022 to February 2024.According to the site of puncture[GSV of the knee joint(KJ)or the ankle joint(AJ)],they were divided into a GSV-KJ placement group(n=38)and a GSV-AJ placement group(n=33).The infants were measured in terms of body weight(BW),body length, the length of the upper and lower parts of the body, head circumference, and abdominal circumference at the time of placement. The Pearson correlation analysis was used to investigate the correlation between the above variables and OPD.A predictive formula was established for OPD in the placement of PICC via the GSV in preterm infants, and the predicted residual between the predicted depth and the ideal OPD was compared between the conventional predictive formula and the new predictive formula. Results The Pearson correlation analysis showed that PICC OPD was significantly positively correlated with BW,body length, the length of the upper and lower parts of the body, head circumference, and abdominal circumference in both the GSV-KJ placement group and GSV-AJ placement group(P<0.05),with the highest degree of correlation between OPD and BW.The univariate linear regression analysis showed a linear relationship between PICC OPD and BW in both groups. The predictive formulas for OPD were as follows:GSV-KJ PICC OPD(cm)=13.1+2.7×BW(kg)and GSV-AJ PICC OPD(cm)=13.4+6.0×BW(kg),and the new predictive formulas had a significantly lower predicted residual than the conventional predictive formula(P<0.05).Conclusions OPD for PICC through the GSV is positively correlated with BW,and the prediction results of the new predictive formula based on BW are closer to the ideal OPD.

ObjectiveTo explore the relapse status based on the positive and negative syndrome scale (PANSS Scale) and related factors of schizophrenics in Shanghai communities, and to analyze the association between socio demographic characteristics, lifestyles, clinical characteristics and relapse. MethodsA dynamic cohort prospective study design was used in this study. From March 2018 to February 2019, a total of 189 schizophrenics in Xuhui, Hongkou, Changning, Jiading, Songjiang and Baoshan districts were enrolled successively. Baseline questionnaires were conducted through face-to-face interviews at baseline, which contained social demographic information, lifestyle information and clinical information. A follow-up was conducted every 2 weeks for a measurement of PANSS Scale for a total of 6 months. Relapse was assessed by a PANSS score increase of ≥25% from baseline (or an increase of 10 points or more if the baseline score was ≤40 points). Univariate and multivariate Cox regression models were used to analyze the associations between relapse status (assessed by PANSS Scale) and socio demographic characteristics, lifestyles, and clinical characteristics, respectively. ResultsA total of 165 community schizophrenics completed baseline and follow-up surveys, with a loss to follow-up rate of about 12.7%. After exclusion of sociodemographic and clinical information deficits, 132 patients were included in the analysis totally, with an average age of 48.18±12.67 years, among whom 41.67% were male. Totally 33 patients relapsed during the 6-month follow-up period, with a relapse rate of 25.0%. After adjusting for gender, family history, age, employment, education, marital status, smoking, drinking, exercise frequency, medication compliance, insight, social function, violence history, stress recent events, adverse drug reactions and baseline scores of PANSS Scale, risk factors of relapse included the following four factors: age below 40 years (HR=4.47, 95%CI: 1.15-17.40), primary school or below (HR=7.11, 95%CI: 1.54-32.83), unemployed (HR=8.34, 95%CI: 1.78-38.98), and adverse drug reactions (HR=5.02, 95%CI: 1.75-14.37). ConclusionWe should pay attention to the risk factors such as age, education, employment and adverse drug reactions, in order to identify high-risk patients and to conduct timely interventions during the relapse management of schizophrenics in Shanghai community.

The current review gives a comprehensive overview of the recent development in Chinese medicine (CM) for treating several kinds of acquired nerve deafness and tinnitus, as well as links the traditional principle to well-established pharmacological mechanisms for future research. To date, about 24 herbal species and 40 related ingredients used in CM to treat hearing loss and tinnitus are reported for the treatment of endocochlear potential, endolymph growth, lowering toxic and provocative substance aggregation, inhibiting sensory cell death, and retaining sensory transfer. However, there are a few herbal species that can be used for medicinal purposes. Nevertheless, clinical studies have been hampered by a limited population sample, a deficiency of a suitable control research group, or contradictory results. Enhanced cochlear blood flow, antiinflammatory antioxidant, neuroprotective effects, and anti-apoptotic, as well as multi-target approach on different auditory sections of the inner ear, are all possible benefits of CM medications. There are numerous unknown natural products for aural ailment and tinnitus identified in CM that are expected to be examined in the future utilizing various aural ailment models and processes.

Allergic diseases affect about 40% of the world's population. Environmental factors are important in the occurrence and development of allergic diseases. Dust mites are one of the most important allergens in the indoor environment. The World Health Organization proposes the "four-in-one, combination of prevention and treatment" treatment principle for allergic diseases, in which environmental control to avoid or reduce allergens is the first choice for treatment. Modern people spend much more time at home (including sleeping) than outdoors, and the control of the home environment is particularly critical. This practice introduces the hypoallergenic home visit program, which including home environment assessment, environmental and behavioral intervention guidance, and common household hypoallergenic supplies and service guidance for the patient's home environment. The real-time semi-quantitative testing of dust mite allergens, qualitative assessments of other indoor allergens, record of patients' household items and lifestyle, and precise, individualized patient prevention and control education will be conducted. The hypoallergenic home visit program improves the doctors' diagnosis and treatment data dimension, and becomes a patient management tool for doctors outside the hospital. It also helps patients continue to scientifically avoid allergens and irritants in the environment, effectively build a hypoallergenic home environment, reduce exposure to allergens in the home environment, and achieve the goal of combining the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases.
