Objective:To investigate the effect of maternal serum vitamin D on fetal long bone development. Methods:A retrospective collection of 1 193 first-time pregnant women who visited our hospital′s prenatal diagnosis center from July 2018 to June 2020 was conducted. All underwent prenatal fetal ultrasound examination and serum vitamin D level detection. Based on the dosage of vitamin D administered after the first vitamin D test, participants were divided into the basic dosage group(vitamin D 3, 1 600 IU/d, orally) and the adequate supplementation group(vitamin D 2 injection 600 000 IU/2 weeks, intramuscular injection). The serum 25-(OH)D levels of the two groups of pregnant women were compared at 12 and 24 weeks of treatment, as well as the long bone growth of their fetuses. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the factors influencing fetal long length. Results:Compared to the basic dosage group, the adequate supplementation group showed a significant increase in serum 25-(OH)D levels in pregnant women at 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 24 weeks of treatment. The adequate supplementation group also significantly increased fetal long bone length at 12 weeks[(4.93±0.75) cm vs(4.61±0.73) cm, P<0.05] and 24 weeks of treatment [(7.92±0.84) cm vs(7.25±0.92) cm, P<0.05], with the difference between the two groups being more pronounced at 24 weeks of treatment. Maternal height, basal vitamin D level, and vitamin D level at 24 weeks of gestation were positively correlated with fetal long bone length. Conclusion:Pregnant women should maintain a relatively high level of basal vitamin D, and pay attention to the effect of vitamin D level on the fetus. A sufficient amount of vitamin D supplementation is of great significance for the long bone development of the fetus.

Objective:To explore the clinical application value of single pass scanning using muti-slice spiral CT for polytrauma patients. Methods:Totally 60 polytrauma patients treated from January to November in 2023 were randomly enrolled in this study. They were categorized into an experimental group and a control group using a random number table, with 30 patients in each group. The patients in the experimental group underwent single pass scaning for the head, neck, chest, and abdomen, whereas those in the control group receiving separate scanning for various parts. Then, the noise, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and contrast-to-noise (CNR) of the CT images of both groups were recorded. Furthermore, the objective and subjective evaluation, volume CT dose index (CTDI vol), effective dose ( E), scanning time, and scan ranges of the images were compared between both groups. Results:Compared to the control group, the test group exhibited lower SNR of the head ( t = -5.47, P < 0.05) and higher SNR and CNR of the chest scans ( t = -5.95, -6.15, P < 0.05). Furthermore, the test group demonstrated decreased ED, CTDIvol, scanning time, and scan range, which dropped from 18.53 mSv to 13.81 mSv ( t = 3.29, P < 0.001), from 15.77 mGy to 10.59 mGy ( t = 4.48, P< 0.001), from 31.68 s to 10.97 s ( t = 6.95, P < 0.001), and from 64.92 cm to 45.21 cm ( t = 9.05, P < 0.001), respectively compared to the control group. Conclusions:Single pass CT scanning can reduce E, scanning time, and scan range in the treatment of polytrauma patients while ensuring the high quality of CT images, thus warranting wide clinical applications.

Objective:To investigate the effect of paeoniflorin on toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)/nuclear transcription factor(NF-κB) signaling pathway of streptozotocin combined with ovariectomized mice, and to explore whether it can improve the cognitive impairment of ovariectomized diabetic mice. Methods:Ninety female C57BL/6J mice were divided into SHAM group, ovariectomy group, diabetes group(intraperitoneal injection of STZ 50 mg·kg -1·d -1 for 5 consecutive days), dual model group(DM modeling and OVX operation), paeoniflorin low-dose intervention group(OVX+ STZ+ L-PF 50 mg·kg -1·d -1), paeoniflorin high-dose intervention group(OVX+ STZ+ H-PF 100 mg·kg -1·d -1; all groups n=15). After 8 weeks of paeoniflorin intervention, their cognitive function was tested by behavioral experiments(Morris water maze and Y maze). The pathological changes of hippocampal tissue were observed by HE and Nissl staining. The mRNA expressions of TLR4, tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1β(IL-1β) and interleukin-6(IL-6) in hippocampal tissues were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. The expression of TLR4, NF-κB P65, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, β-amyloid protein(Aβ), tau proteins, and p-tau proteins were detected by Western blot. Results:Compared with SHAM group, the learning and memory ability of ovariectomy group, diabetes group and dual model group decreased, hippocampal cells were damaged, and the expression of related gene mRNA and protein were increased, especially in dual model group; Compared with dual model group, paeoniflorin intervention could delayed the learning and memory impairment, improve cognitive function, reduce the degree of hippocampal injury, and decrease the expression levels of related gene mRNA and protein, The above changes were the most pronounced at paeoniflorin high-dose intervention group. Conclusion:Paeoniflorin improves cognitive dysfunction in ovariectomized diabetic mice by inhibiting TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway.
