The 2017 China (Lianyungang) International Medical Technology Conference was held in Lianyungang,Jiangsu Province during November 15-17,2017.During this conference,the Division for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Products Pharmacology of Chinese Pharmacological Society (CNPHARS) and Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.jointly held the Forum on R&D and Interna-tionalization of New Drugs and Health Products of Traditional Chinese Medicine.The forum was co-chaired by Professor ZHANG Yong-xiang, President of CNPHARS, Chair of Division for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Products Pharmacology of CNPHARS,and Chair of the Natural Product Section of Inter-national Union of Basic&Clinical Pharmacology(IUPHAR), Professor DU Guan-hua,former President of CNPHARS and Vice-Chair of Division for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Products Pharmacology of CNPHARS,and Dr.XIAO Wei,Chairman of the Board of Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. And Vice-Chair of Division for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Products Pharmacology of CNPHARS. More than 70 scholars attended the forum, including four foreign experts [Michael SPEDDING, Secretary-General of IUPHAR; Professor Valérie B. SCHINI-KERTH, Vice-Chair of the Natural Product Section of IUPHAR; Professor Cherry WAINWRGHT, Director of Centre for Natural Product Drugs of Robert Gordon University; Professor InKyeom KIM, Director of the Korean Society of Pharmacology], members of the Division for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Products Pharmacology of CNPHARS and leading researchers at Jiangsu Kanion Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.GU Jin-hui,Director of the Division of National Science and Technology Major Project for Drug Innovation,Department of Health Science,Technology and Education,National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People's Republic of China was also invited to attend the forum. Representatives discussed the R&D and internationalization of new drugs and health products of traditional Chinese medicine.The summary of views and advice of some experts was published here for the purpose of promoting domestic and overseas academic exchange, and playing an active role in improving the level of R&D and internationalization of new drugs and health products of traditional Chinese medicine in China.
2. Expression of CaSR in neurons and cardiomyocytes incubated with magnesium-free extracellular fluid and its relationship with the MAPK pathway

Objective At present, studies on the calcium sensing receptor (CaSR) in the pathogenesis of epilepsy are carried out in animal models in vivo and in single cells cultured in vitro. This study was to investigate the expression of CaSR and its relationship with the MAPK pathway in the rat model of epilepsy.Methods The neurons and cardiomyocytes of 3-day-old Wistar rats were cultured for 10 days and randomly divided into groups A (control), B (magnesium-free), C (magnesium free+spermine), D (magnesium free+calhex231), and E (magnesium free+spermine+calhex231). The model of epilepsy was made by abnormal discharge of the neurons induced by coculturing magnesium-free extracellular fluid with cardiomyocytes. The morphological changes of the cells were observed by HE staining and transmission electron microscopy, their survival rate detected by MTT, and the expressions of the CaSR, Bcl-2, P-ERK, P-JNK and P-P38 proteins in the cocultured cells determined by Western blot.Results Compared with the cells in group B, those in group C were swollen and broken with nuclear fragmentation, those in group D showed a relative integrity, and those in group E were also swollen and broken but improved in comparison with those in group C. The survival rates of the cells were (61.08±15.44)%, (82.80±14.37)% and (82.04±17.37)% in groups C, D and E, respectively, all significantly lower than in A (\[100.00±0.00\]%, P<0.01) and B (\[88.88±9.85\]%, P<0.01). The expression of CaSR was markedly higher in group B than in A (\[0.73±0.19\] vs \[0.45±0.12\], P<0.01) but lower than in C (1.32±0.15) and E (1.19±0.12) (P<0.01). The expression levels of Bcl-2 and P-ERK were remarkably lower in group B than in A but higher than in C (P<0.01), and those of P-JNK and P-P38 significantly higher in group B than in A and lower than in C and E (P<0.05).Conclusion Magnesium-free extracellular fluid can damage neurons and cardiomyocytes, increase the expression of CaSR, participate in the MAPK signaling pathway, and mediate the apoptosis of neurons and cardiomyocytes, while CaSR inhibitors can relieve the CaSR agonist-induced damage to the cells.

We analyzed the potential problems in legal,privacy,confidentiality and the elderly receiving ability of telenursing using in the home care as well as future developing trends so as to provide reference for the application of telenursing using in home care service.
4.Volume changes of whole brain gray matter in pediatric patients with Tourette syndrome: evidence from voxel-based morphometry

ObjectivesTo identify the related abnormalities of gray matter in pediatric patients with Tourette syndrome (TS) by using the optimized voxel-based morphometry (VBM).Methods Three dimensional T1WI was acquired in 31 TS children (28 boys,3 girts,mean age 8 years,range 4-15 years) and 50 age- and sex-matched controls on a 1.5 Tesla Philips scanner. Images were pre-processed and analyzed using a version of VBM 2 in SPM 2.The whole brain gray matter volume was compared between the study and control group by using t-test.Multivariate linear regression analysis was used for analyzing the correlation between the change of grey matter volume within each brain region (mm3 ) and YGTSS score and course of disease of TS patients.Statistical analyses were performed by using SPSS 13.0.ResultsUsing VBM,significant increases in gray matter volumes in left superior parietal lobule, right cerebellar hemisphere and left parahippocampal gyrus were detected in TS patients,and the volume changes were 4059,2126 and 84 mm3 ( t =3.93,3.71,3.58,P < 0.05 ) respectively.Compared to the control group,decreased grey matter volumes were found in medulla and left pons,and the volume changes were 213 and 117 mm3( t =3.53,3.48,P < 0.05 )respectively.Tic severity was not correlated with any volume changes of gray matter in brain (P > 0.05,a small volume correction,KE ≥ 10 voxel).Tic course was negatively correlated with the gray matter volume of left parahippocampal gyrus ( Beta =- 0.391,P =0.039 ).ConclusionsUsing VBM technique,the gray matter abnormalities can be revealed in TS patients without obvious lesions on conventional MR imaging.The increasing volume of temporal and parietal lobes and cerebellar may be an adaptive anatomical change in response to experiential demand. The gray matter volume of the parahippocampal gyrus may be used as one potential objective index for evaluating the prognosis of TS.
5.Protective effects of new compound codonopsis tablets against acute mountain sickness.

OBJECTIVETo study on the protective effects of new compound codonopsis tablets against acute mountain sickness (AMS).
METHODSForty-five male plain resident soldiers stayed at 1400 m altitude for 3 months were randomly divided into two groups, control (15 men) and treatment group (30 men). Single blind trial was used in this study. The subjects in the two groups took placebo and new compound codonopsis tablets respectively for 5 days before climbing to high mountain, and continued to take for another 10 days until the 3rd day after arriving at 5200 m altitude. On the 1st , 3rd, and 5th day after they arrived at 5200 m altitude, the score and the degree of AMS symptoms of soldiers were followed up and recorded according to State Military Standard GJB1098-91--"Principles of diagnosis and treatment of benign form of acute mountain sickness", heart rate (beats/min) and arterial oxygen saturation (%) were detenrmined. On the 6th day after they arrived at high altitude, forced vital capacity(FVC), forced expired volume in one second(FEV1.0), FEV1% (FEV1.0/FVC), FEF25%-75%, peak expiratory flow (PEF) and maximal voluntary ventilation (MVV) were detected, total frequency of hands cross movement and memory of order numbers test were measured.
RESULTSComparison with control, AMS symptoms of treatment group reduced on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th day after arriving at 5200 m high altitude (P < 0.01). The degree of AMS symptoms of treatment group was significantly different from that of control. The proportion of slight symptoms in treatment group was high, and that of relative serious symptoms in control was high. Compared with control, FVC, FEV1.0, FEF25%-75%, PEF and MVV of treatment group increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), and Ttis, Ctis of treatment group increased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), Atime decreased markedly (P < 0.05), there was no statistically significant difference in Etis and Sum between the two groups.
CONCLUSIONNew compound codonopsis tablets could decrease the incidence of AMS, mitigate the symptoms of AMS, and improve breathing function and fingers movement function. New compound codonopsis tablets have an obvious effect on prevention and treatment of acute mountain sickness.
