Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;57(8):1164-1170
Conventional wisdom holds that the onset of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is usually in older people. However, with extended follow-up in large cohort studies, the trajectory of lung function development has been gradually delineated, indicating that the decline of lung function may originate early in life. In addition, a large number of studies have shown that people with chronic respiratory symptoms, pulmonary imaging changes and abnormal lung physiology, but not in line with pulmonary function diagnosis of COPD, tend to develop COPD in the future and may have a worse prognosis, suggesting the necessity of early intervention. The GOLD 2022 report proposes a series of terms related to COPD, including COPD in young people and pre-COPD, opening up new opportunities for the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of COPD. These concepts also guide the study design of the biological mechanism of COPD and the trajectory of disease progression. This article reviews the research progress of COPD in young people and pre-COPD to attract more attention in clinical practice.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the inductive therapeutic effects of imatinib combined with VP low dose regiment on adult patients with Ph-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph(+) ALL).
METHODSFourteen newly diagnosed adult patients with Ph(+) ALL were treated with VP regimen, and imatinib (400 mg/d) was added at the 8(th) day. VP regimen would be stopped when neutropenia lasted for 1 week or complicated with infection, fever, etc. Therapeutic effects were assessed by bone marrow morphology and quantitative analysis of BCR/ABL:ABL at the 28(th) - 33(rd) day. Patients could be treated with imatinib combined with chemotherapy for consolidation and maintenance therapy or were treated with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation after complete remission.
RESULTSFourteen cases obtained CR1 after first course of treatment, the median decline of BCR/ABA:ABL was 55.89 (10.25 -180.97) %; during the induction chemotherapy, pulmonary infection occurred in 3 patients, diarrhea in 1 patients, facial edema in 3 patients, however, all these patients were cured after symptomatic treatment, only 1 patient died of relapse after transplantation.
CONCLUSIONIn the period of tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), inductive chemotherapy combined with imatinib and low dose VP can obtaine satisfactory CR rate and decrease the toxicity of the traditional drugs. It is suggested that TKI combined with VP regimen chemotherapy can achieve CR1 and make possible for allo-HSCT, from which patients can achieve the long-term survival.

Objective In order to investigate the impact of interactive online teaching in Laboratory Diagnosis, a randomized experimental study was conducted among the medical students in Grade 2009.Methods A total of 65 subjects were randomized into the experimental group (N=31) and the control group (N=34).In addition to the standard in-class presentation/discussion and school-wide refined online courses offered in the control group, interactive online teaching was added to experimental group. After completion of the course, the impact of interactive online teaching in the experimental group was compared to that in the control group through a final exam and a question-naire concentrating on motivation of study, problem solving and team working skills.Statistical signifi-cance of the comparison was evaluated using t-test.Results The results from the final exam showed that the average score in the experimental group was higher than the control group (87.20 ± 5.25 vs.82.69 ± 5.76), It is statistically significant (P=0.002).The average scores of short answer and case study questions in the experimental group was higher than the control group (26.16 ± 1.57 vs.25.31 ± 1.73, 18.94 ± 1.05 vs.15.53 ± 1.15), It is statistically significant (P=0.043,P=0.000).The satisfaction evaluation of interest in learning, timely answers to questions, learning, analytical skills, teamwork culture reflected by the questionnaire indicated statistically higher (P=0.041,0.000,0.000,0.000,0.000) average scores in the experimental group as compared to its counterparts in the control group (4.30 ± 0.65 vs.3.97 ± 0.62, 4.63 ± 0.49 vs.3.25 ± 0.88, 4.43 ± 0.57 vs.3.49 ± 0.65, 4.46 ± 0.57 vs.3.37 ± 0.73, 4.33 ± 0.66 vs.3.68 ± 0.58).Conclusion Interactive online teaching helps to improve the study performance of medical students in Laboratory Diagnosis.Incorporating interactive online teaching into the current course regarding Laboratory Diagnosis merits recommendation.

Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2010;16(8):573-575
Objective To define the indications and evaluate the results of various surgical treatment options in patients with nonparasitic hepatic cysts. Methods The clinical data of 284 patients with nonparasitic hepatic cysts treated in our hospital from January 1995 to December 2005 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Percutaneous aspiration and sclerotherapy were performed in 161 cases and complications occurred in 9 (5.59%), recurrence in 53 (32.92%) and the mortality was 0%.Open surgery was conducted in 71 cases and the complications occurred in 16 (22.54%), recurrence in 8 cases (11.27%) and the mortality was 2.82%. Laparoscopic surgery was employed in 52 cases and complications occurred in 7 ( 13.46%), recurrence in 6 (11.54%) and the mortality was 1.92%.Conclusion There is currently no general agreement in the literature concerning when nonparasitic hepatic cysts should be treated. Laparoscopic surgery was more favorable than other therapeutic options. However, we should choose individually suitable methods according to different clinical symptom of patients.
