		                        			 Background:
and Purpose This study aimed to investigate the association between residual inflammatory risk (RIR) and vulnerable plaques using high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HRMRI) in symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS).

		                        			Methods:
This retrospective study included 70%–99% symptomatic ICAS patients hospitalized from January 2016 to December 2022. Patients were classified into four groups based on high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C): residual cholesterol inflammatory risk (RCIR, hs-CRP ≥3 mg/L and LDL-C ≥2.6 mmol/L), RIR (hs-CRP ≥3 mg/L and LDL-C <2.6 mmol/L), residual cholesterol risk (RCR, hs-CRP <3 mg/L and LDL-C ≥2.6 mmol/L), and no residual risk (NRR, hs-CRP <3 mg/L and LDL-C <2.6 mmol/L). Vulnerable plaque features on HRMRI included positive remodeling, diffuse distribution, intraplaque hemorrhage, and strong enhancement.

		                        			Results:
Among 336 included patients, 21, 60, 58, and 197 were assigned to the RCIR, RIR, RCR, and NRR groups, respectively. Patients with RCIR (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 3.606; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.346–9.662; P=0.011) and RIR (aOR, 3.361; 95% CI, 1.774–6.368, P<0.001) had higher risks of strong enhancement than those with NRR. Additionally, patients with RCIR (aOR, 2.965; 95% CI, 1.060–8.297; P=0.038) were more likely to have intraplaque hemorrhage compared with those with NRR. In the sensitivity analysis, RCR (aOR, 2.595; 95% CI, 1.201–5.608; P=0.015) exhibited an additional correlation with an increased risk of intraplaque hemorrhage.

		                        			Conclusion
In patients with symptomatic ICAS, RIR is associated with a higher risk of intraplaque hemorrhage and strong enhancement, indicating an increased vulnerability to atherosclerotic plaques.

Objectives:To present the epidemiological characteristics of stroke incidence and stroke-related mortality among the whole population in national cardiovascular disease surveillance areas from 2015 to 2019. Methods:Data of stroke incidence and stroke-related mortality from 2015 to 2019 were collected from the China Registry of Cardiovascular Events(China RACE),which was established in 2014,covering 100 counties(cities, districts)in 31 provinces in China. The Joinpoint model was used to analyze the annual percentage changes(APC)and trends of stroke incidence rate. The age-standardized incidence rate(ASIR)was calculated using the Seventh National Census data as the standard population. With annual reported stroke events and stroke-related deaths, the mortality to incidence ratio(M/I)were examined. Results:From 2015 to 2019,an increase of 9.41%(APC=2.12%,95%CI:1.43%-2.82%,Ptrend<0.01)resulted in the overall stroke crude incidence rate(CIR)of 468.48/100 000 in 2019 among the whole population, with relatively higher in male and in rural area. The more sharply elevating of CIR appeared in males(11.26%[APC=2.53%,95%CI:1.83%-3.24%,Ptrend<0.01])rather than in females(7.26%[APC=1.63%,95%CI:0.81%-2.46%,Ptrend<0.01]).Meanwhile,the general ASIR decreased 7.47%(APC=-1.72%,95%CI:-3.23%--0.20%,Ptrend<0.05),reaching 523.82/100 000 in 2019.The females generally showed significant descending trend(9.56%[APC=-2.27%,95%CI:-3.99%--0.52%,Ptrend<0.05]),as well as more reduction than that in the males(15.82%vs.11.40%)in urban area. The crude incidence rate of stroke increased with age. From 2015 to 2019,the CIR in 45-49 age group increased 12.48%(APC=3.18%,95%CI:1.67%-4.72%,Ptrend<0.01),compared with an reduction of 15.76%(APC=-4.39%,95%CI:-7.63%--1.04%,Ptrend<0.05)in 80-84 age group.Over the monitoring years, the overall M/I was 0.19,with an age-specific U-shaped distribution. The lowest of M/I(0.10)appeared in those aged 50-54 and 55-59,while the highest(0.45)detected in those aged 85 and over. The M/I of all age in urban areas were consistently lower than that in rural areas. Conclusions:Stroke incidence burden increased from 2015-2019 in the national surveillance areas in China, along with the unfavorable geographic diversity and age-specific divergence.Further efforts are required to improve health care covering all ages and regions in China to reduce the incidence of stroke and stroke-related mortality.

BackgroundThe prevalence of depressive disorder in adolescents is on the rise. There have been studies on the pairwise relations between dysfunctional attitude, negative automatic thoughts, positive coping style and depressive symptoms in the past. However, the impact of the intrinsic relations among dysfunctional attitude, negative automatic thoughts and positive coping style on depressive symptoms is still unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the influence of dysfunctional attitude on adolescent depressive symptoms and examine the action path of negative automatic thoughts and positive coping style on it, in order to provide references for intervention for adolescent patients with depressisve disorder. MethodsThis study involved 162 adolescent patients with depressive disorder, who met the diagnostic criteria for depressive episodes in the International Classification of Diseases, 10th edition (ICD-10) and received treatment in Taiyuan Psychiatric Hospital from October 1, 2022 to October 31, 2023. These patients were evaluated using Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), Dysfunction Attitude Scale (DAS), Positive Coping Style Subscale in Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ) and Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire (ATQ). Pearson correlation analysis was adopted to examine the correlation among scores of scales above. Model 6 in Process 3.4.1 was adopted to test the acting path of negative automatic thoughts and positive coping style between dysfunctional attitude and adolescent depression symptoms. ResultsA total of 148 adolescent patients with depressive disorder completed an effective questionnaire survey, with a response rate of 91.36%. The direct effect value of dysfunctional attitude on depressive symptoms was 0.423 and the effect size was 63.32%. Negative automatic thoughts and positive coping style affected as acting path between dysfunctional attitude and depressive symptoms, with effect values of 0.156 (accounting for 23.35% of the total effect) and 0.045 (accounting for 6.74% of the total effect) respectively. Meanwhile, negative automatic thoughts and positive coping style affected as a chain reaction pathway between dysfunctional attitude and depressive symptoms, with an effect value of 0.044, accounting for 6.59% of the total effect. ConclusionDysfunctional attitude can not only directly affect the depressive symptoms of adolescent patients with depressive disorder, but also affect the depressive symptoms of adolescent patients with depressive disorder through the independent path or chain path of negative automatic thoughts and positive coping style.

Nanozymes, a groundbreaking discovery by Chinese scientists, represent a novel and remarkable property of nanomaterials. They not only exhibit catalytic activity comparable to natural enzymes, but also boast exceptional stability, tunable reactivity, and the ability to catalyze reactions under mild conditions. The identification of nanozymes has unveiled the biocatalytic potential of inorganic nanomaterials. In parallel, inorganic minerals have long been regarded as pivotal catalysts in the origin of life, driving the synthesis of early biomolecules. These minerals not only facilitate redox reactions that convert simple inorganic compounds into organic molecules but also enable chiral selection, the synthesis of biomacromolecules, and radioprotective functions via their surface structures. Recent advances suggest that inorganic nanomaterials can delicately catalyze the formation of biomolecules, aid in macromolecular assembly, and provide radiation shielding. Furthermore, nanominerals are found in abundance across Earth and extraterrestrial environments. This paper seeks to explore the potential of nanozymes as catalytic agents in the processes that gave rise to life, integrating the catalytic roles of inorganic minerals with the unique attributes of nanozymes, which will provide a new perspective for research of origin of life.

		                        			Objective:
To understand characteristics of men who have sex with men (MSM) who applied for HIV antibody self-testing reagents through "AIDS self-testing" column of a WeChat official account named "Dark Blue Public Health Center" in Tianjin City, so as to provide insights into exploring online modes of HIV antibody self-testing for MSM.

		                        			Methods:
Data of MSM who were 18 years old or above, currently lived in Tianjin City, had sex with men in the past six months and applied for HIV antibody self-testing reagents through "AIDS self-testing" column from May 2018 to December 2022 were collected. Demographic characteristics, results return and positive findings were descriptively analyzed.

		                        			Results:
Data of 2 064 MSM were collected, including 1 052 MSM aged 20 to 29 years (50.97%), 1 522 unmarried MSM (73.74%), 545 workers (26.41%), 1 385 MSM with college education or above (67.10%), and 315 MSM without testing for HIV antibody in the past (15.26%). A total of 6 470 self-testing reagents were applied, and 5 942 testing results were returned, with a return rate of 91.84%. There were 33.28% (687/2 064) of the applicants applying for 66.32% (4 291/6 470) reagents multiple times. There were 73 MSM with positive results, accounting for 1.23%.

		                        			Conclusions
The MSM applying for HIV antibody self-testing reagents through "AIDS self-testing" are mainly young and highly educated, including some who have never tested for HIV. However, attention should be paid to duplicate applications and the return rate should be increased.

Glioma is the most common malignancy of the central nervous system, originating mainly from glial cells. Because of its highly aggressive nature, glioma has one of the highest rates of death among all types of cancer. Therefore, it is very important to develop new therapeutic approaches and drugs for glioma treatment. Instead of activate the telomerase, approximately 30% of glioma use alternative lenthening of telomere (ALT) to maintain telomere length. The mechanism of ALT development is poorly understood, however, some genetic mutations have been reported to induce the development of ALT glioma, such as ATRX, IDH1, p53, etc. The lack of ALT glioma cell lines and preclinical ALT glioma models has limited the mechanistic studies of ALT glioma. Therefore, this review listed ALT glioma cell lines that derived from primary culture or gene editing in the last decade, as well as the xenografted animal models established by ALT glioma cell lines, and discussed the role and significance these cell and animal models play in preclinical studies.
