Objective:To observe the effects of different kinesio taping methods on hand swelling, shoulder pain, upper limb motor function and ability in the activities of daily living of stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome.Methods:Sixty stroke survivors with shoulder-hand syndrome were randomly divided into groups A, B, C and a control group, each of 15. In addition to routine rehabilitation training and drug treatment, as well as claw-shaped and I-shaped taping of the hand and wrist, group A received I-shaped kinesio taping, B received Y-shape and C received I-shape plus Y-shaped taping of the shoulder. Before and after 4 weeks, the drainage method was employed to calculate the difference in volume between the two hands. Their temperatures were also measured. The subjects reported shoulder pain using a visual analog scale (VAS). Upper limb motor functioning was quantified using Fugl-Meyer scores, and difficulties in the activities of daily living were evaluated using the modified Barthel index (MBI).Results:Before the treatment there were no significant differences among the four groups in terms of any of the measurements. Afterward the treatment, significant improvement was observed in the volume and temperature differences between hands, as well as in the VAS, FMA and MBI scores. After the treatment, group C′s average FMA score was significantly higher than those of the other groups. There was no significant difference in MBI scores among the four groups.Conclusions:Supplementing rehabilitation training with I-shaped plus Y-shaped kinesio taping can effectively reduce the volume and temperature differences between the hands, relieve shoulder pain, and improve effectiveness in the activities of daily living of persons with shoulder-hand syndrome after a stroke. Hand-claw and wrist-I taping also have some effect.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the decay law of chromosome aberrations after 3 years iridium-192 radiation exposure in victims of Nanjing “5.7” radiation accident. METHODS: The peripheral blood of victims was collected 3 years after iridium-192 radiation exposure. The routine chromosome aberration analysis, micronucleus analysis and G-banding karyotype analysis were used to detect the chromosomal instability rate, the binuclear micronucleus rate and the stability distortion rate. A dose reconstruction was carried out based on the distortion results. RESULTS: The aberration frequency of dicentric(dic) and centric rings(r) was 6.5% after 3 years iridium-192 radiation exposure, which decreased to 31.0% at 6 days after exposure(the aberration frequency of dic and r was 21.0%). The estimated biological dose based on the aberration frequency of dic and r was 0.75 Gy, which is about 50.0% of the initial estimated dose(1.52 Gy) at 6 days after exposure. The micronucleus rate of the binuclear lymphocytes was 63.0‰, and the estimated biological dose based on the micronucleus rate was 0.71 Gy, which was similar to the estimated dose of aberration frequency of dic and r. The total frequency of chromosome aberration observed by karyotype analysis of G-bands by trypsin using Giemsa was 41.0%, the stability aberration frequency was 30.0%, and the translocation frequency was 15.0%. The result of dose reconstruction based on the translocation frequency was 1.50-1.89 Gy, which was very close to the initial estimated dose(1.52 Gy). CONCLUSION: The decay of unstable chromosome aberration may be influenced by many factors, more detailed data need to be accumulated to study the decay law. The use of stable chromosomal aberrations, especially translocation frequencies used in dose reconstruction in earlier exposures, is an ideal method.

Objective To analyze the result of proficiency testing(PT)of detection activities for Laboratory animal pathogenic bacteria in 2011 and 2013-2017. To further improve the detection capacity of laboratory animal testing agency,and promote PT to be carried out in future. Methods During the six years(2011 and 2013 -2017), the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control conducted a total of six(seven projects)PT activities of laboratory animal pathogen bacteria. We analyzed the overall trend and the exposed problems by summarizing the result data of the PT in 6 years. Results A total of 45 laboratories in the country including 20 provinces and cities participated in the PT. The PT projects included Mycoplasma pulmonis, Clostridium piliformis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp.,Klebsiella pneumoniae and Bordetella bronchiseptica. The satisfaction rates were 75%,87.5%,80.0%, 78.6%,93.3,96.2% and 88.0%, respectively. The main reasons of unsatisfactory results were for lack of incubation time,select errors of suspicious bacteria, biochemical identification errors, report writing errors and not timely feedback results. Conclusions The level of domestic laboratory animal pathogenic bacteria detection is gradually increased to achieve the desired goal through continuous proficiency testing activities.

Objective To investigate the occurrence of left ventricular reverse remodeling (LVRR) and its predictive factors in patients with idiopathic or secondary dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted in a consecutive cohort of patients with DCM admitted in our department between January, 2012 and June, 2016. Based on dynamic echocardiographic findings, LVRR was defined as an absolute increase in left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) by≥100％or an absolute value of LVEF≥45％with simultaneously an absolute decrease in end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD)≥10 mm or an absolute value of LVEDD ≤55 mm (in men) or ≤50 mm (in women). The patients with LVRR and those without LVRR were compared for clinical data at admission to identify the potential factors for predicting LVRR. Results A total of 462 patients, who were followed up for 24.13±15.60 months, were included in this survey. In patients with idiopathic DCM who had LVRR, LVEDD was reduced (P<0.01), LVEF was improved (P<0.01) and the mean exercise tolerance was increased significantly (P<0.01) compared with those in patients without LVRR. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that a shorter course of heart failure (OR=0.913, P<0.01), a high systolic blood pressure (OR=1.062, P<0.01), absence of electrolyte imbalance (OR=0.347, P<0.01), a low red cell distribution width (OR=0.205, P<0.01), a smaller LVEDD (OR=0.799, P<0.01) and a greater LVEF (OR=1.142, P<0.01) were independent predictors of LVRR in the idiopathic patients. In patients with secondary DCM, LVEDD was reduced (P<0.01), LVEF was improved (P<0.01), and the mean exercise tolerance was increased significantly (P<0.01) compared with those in patients without LVRR. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that a shorter course of heart failure (OR=0.954, P<0.01), a low red cell distribution width (OR=1.011, P<0.01), and implementation of etiological treatment (OR=1.073, P<0.01) were independent predictors of LVRR in patients with secondary DCM. Conclusion The exercise tolerance, cardiac structure and function can be reversed in some of the patients with idiopathic or secondary DCM by administration of standard therapy for heart failure and etiological treatment.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of plasma exchange (PE) combined with intensive insulin glycemic control on related indexes of patients with HLP.METHODS:A total of 120 HLP patients were randomly divided into control group (60 cases) and observation group (60 cases).Based on routine treatment,2 groups were given PE treatment for 3 times+Low molecular weight heparin calcium for injection 5 000 U subcutaneously+Methylprednisolone sodium succinate for injection 40 mg intravenously+Calcium gluconate injection 2 g intravenously.Based on it,Insulin injection was pumped to random blood glucose ＜12 mmol/L with a micro-infusion pump in control group when random blood glucose concentration was equal to or more than 12 mmol/ L.When random blood glucose of patients in observation group were higher than 8.3 mmol/L,Insulin injection was pumped with a micro-infusion pump for a week and random blood glucose concentration was maintained at 6.1-8.3 mmol/L.Plasma levels of triglyceride,PCT,WBC count,APACHE Ⅱ score,Balthazar CT score,length of hospitalization stay in ICU and the occurrence of ADR were observed in 2 groups before and after treatment.RESULTS:After treatment,plasma levels of triglyceride,amylase and PCT,WBC count,APACHE Ⅱ score and Balthazar CT score in 2 groups were significantly lower than before treatment,and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group,with statistical significance(P＜0.05).Length of hospitalization stay in ICU observation group was significantly shorter than control group,with statistical significance(P＜0.05).There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups(P＞0.05).CONCLUSIONS:PE combined with intensive insulin glycemic control can effectively reduce the level of plasma triglyceride,relieve inflammatory reaction and improve prognosis without increasing the occurrence of ADR.

Objective To explore the regulatory roles of butorphanol on isolated rabbit pulmonary arteries by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)pre-incubation and assay the protective effect of ketamine on clinic sep tic shock patients.Methods Vascular ring tension detection technique was applied to observe the effect of butorphanol on the normal or lipopolysaccharide incubated pulmonaryvascular.Results In normal group, the final concentration of butorphanol(0.1 μmol,1μmol,10μmol,100μmol)were used to make pretreat ment- phenylephrine(PE)pulmonary artery relaxation.In LPS group,the effect of vasodilation of butor phanol was enhanced.Conclusions LPS can enhance the effect of butorphanol on pulmonary artery relaxa tion reaction.And the direct effect of butorphanol on pulmonary arteries was vasodilation.

Objective To study the protection of vanillin derivative VND3207 on the cytogenetic damage of mouse bone marrow cell induced by ionizing radiation.Methods BALB/c mice were randomly divided into five groups:normal control group,2 Gy dose irradiation group,and three groups of 2 Gy irradiaiton with VND3207 protection at doses of 10,50 and 100 mg/kg,respectively.VND3207 was given by intragastric administration once a day for five days.Two hours after the last drug administration,the mice were irradiated with 2 Gy γ-rays.The changes of polychromatophilic erythroblasts micronuclei (MN),chromosome aberration (CA) and mitosis index (MI) of mouse bone marrow cells were observed at 24 and 48 h after irradiation.Results Under the protection of VND3207 at the dosages 10,50,100 mg/kg,the yields of poly-chromatophilic erythroblasts MN and CA of bone marrow cells were significantly decreased(t = 2.36-4.26,P ＜ 0.05),and the marrow cells MI remained much higher level compared with the irradiated mice without drug protection (t = 2.58,2.01,P ＜ 0.05).The radiological protection effect was drug dose-dependent,and the administration of VND3207 at the dosage of 100 mg/kg resulted in reduction by 50% and 65% in the yields of MN and CA,respectively.Conclusions VND3207 had a good protection effect of on γ-ray induced cytogentic damage of mouse bone marrow cells.

Objective To investigate the expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2) protein and mRNA in kidney of different age spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR) and the role of ACE2 in the development of hypertension. Methods Male SHR(n=30) were allocated to 5 groups by age: 1)one-month-old group(S1); 2)two-month-old group(S2); 3)three-month-old group(S3); 4)six-month-old group(S6); 5)nine-month-old group(S9). Sex and age matched Wistar-Kyoto normotensive rats(WKY)served as controls. The expression of ACE2 mRNA in kidney was determined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The expression of ACE2 protein in kidney was assessed by immunohistochemistry and computer image analysis.
