Purpose:
This study aimed to investigate reproductive concerns among breast cancer patients of reproductive age, analyze the influencing factors, explore the relationship between coping styles, fear of progression (FOP), and reproductive concerns, and identify the multiple effects of coping styles on the relationship between FOP and reproductive concerns among Chinese breast cancer patients.
Methods:
A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted among breast cancer patients in four tertiary grade A hospitals in Fujian, China, from January 2022 to September 2022. A total of 210 patients were recruited to complete paper-based questionnaires, which included the general data questionnaires, the Reproductive Concerns After Cancer Scale (RCACS), the Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form (FOP-Q-SF), and the Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ). Structural equation models were utilized to evaluate the multiple effects of coping styles on FOP and reproductive concerns.
Results:
Reproductive concerns in breast cancer patients had a mean score of 53.02 (SD, 10.69), out of a total score of 90, and coping styles for cancer (confrontation, avoidance) were closely associated with FOP and reproductive concerns. FOP showed a significant positive correlation with reproductive concerns (r = .52, p < .01). At the same time, confrontation was significantly negatively correlated with both FOP (r = −.28, p < .01) and reproductive concerns (r = −.39, p < .01). Avoidance was positively correlated to both FOP (r = .25, p < .01) and reproductive concerns (r = .34, p < .01). The impact of FOP on reproductive concerns is partially mediated by confrontation and avoidance, with effect sizes of .07 and .04, respectively. These mediating factors account for 22.0% of the total effect.
Conclusions
The FOP directly impacted reproductive concerns, while coping styles could partially mediate the association between FOP and reproductive concerns. This study illustrates the role of confrontation and avoidance in alleviating reproductive concerns, suggesting that it is necessary to focus on the changes in reproductive concerns among reproductive-age breast cancer patients. Healthcare professionals can improve disease awareness and reduce patients' FOP, thereby promoting positive psychological and coping behaviors and ultimately alleviating reproductive concerns.

Objective:To describe the characteristics and change trends of incidence, mortality and disease burden of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Qingdao from 2014 to 2020.Methods:We analyzed the incidence data of AMI retrieved from Qingdao Chronic Diseases Surveillance System. The average annual percent change (AAPC) of morbidity and mortality of AMI were evaluated by using Joinpoint log-linear regression model. Disability adjusted life year (DALY) was used to estimate disease burden of AMI in Qingdao. Results:A total of 70 491 AMI cases and 50 832 deaths of AMI occurred in Qingdao from 2014 to 2020. The age-standardized morbidity and mortality were 54.71/100 000 and 36.55/100 000, respectively. During 2014-2020, the AAPC of age-standardized morbidity was 2.86% (95% CI: 0.42%-5.35%), and 4.30% (95% CI: 1.24%-7.45%) in men and 0.78% (95% CI: -0.89%-2.47%) in women, respectively. The log-linear regression model showed that age-standardized morbidity in age groups 30-39, 40-49 years increased rapidly, with the AAPCs of 8.92% (95% CI: 2.23%-16.06%) and 6.32% (95% CI: 3.30%-9.44%), respectively. The trend was also observed in age groups 30-39, 40-49 and 50-59 years in men, with the AAPCs of 11.25% (95% CI: 3.54%-19.54%), 6.73% (95% CI: 2.63%-10.99%) and 6.72% (95% CI: 2.98%-10.60%), respectively. There was no significant change in age-standardized mortality. The DALY rate increased from 7.49/1 000 in 2014 to 8.61/1 000 in 2020, with the AAPC of 1.97% (95% CI: 0.36%-3.60%). Conclusions:The age-standardized morbidity of AMI in men increased in Qingdao, especially in those aged 30-49 years, while age-standardized mortality rate of AMI was relatively stable from 2014 to 2020. The burden of disease of AMI increased in both men and women.

Objective:To investigate the utilization of peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC) in hospitalized children in Class Ⅲ specialized children's hospitals, aiming to discover existing issues of PIVC in order to provide reference for clinical nurses and nurse administer to improve the quality on intravenous therapy and to avoid potential risk. Methods:This study uses the field survey method. From July 23rd to 31st, 2018, 25 Class Ⅲ children's specialized hospitals were first sampled in 23 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions of the country by the convenient sampling method. The cluster sampling method was then used to select all the pediatric patients with PIVCs admitted to the hospital on the date of investigation. A self-designed 'Cross-sectional Questionnaire for Pediatric Patients with PIVC' was used for survey, and images and data were analyzed. SPSS 17.0 software was used to statistically analyze the data. Results:In this study, 8 635 cases of PICVs were investigated, and the utilization rate of PICVs accounted for 86.9% (8 635/9 942) of all venipuncture tools. Among these cases, 4 665 (54.0%) cases' puncture sites were at the dorsal side of the hand, and 1 234 (14.3%) were at the head. Among the PIVCs, 45.8% (3 954/8 635) were safety PIVCs. And 54.6% (4 712/8 635) of the PIVCs were di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) free products. The incidence rate of PICV related complications was 7.9% (682/8 635) . Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the PIVC time, IV site, dressing fixation problems, catheter maintenance problems, and patient age were risk factors for PIVC related complications ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:PIVC is the widely used among pediatric patients. The IV site is mainly at the dorsal side of the hand, followed by head and wrist. The selection of material and type of PIVC still require further improvement to ensure the safety of pediatric intravenous therapy. Nursing measures should be taken during the use of PIVC to identify the risk factors at early stage and intervene effectively, which can reduce the occurrence of complications.

Objective To explore the curative effect of warming and dredge the meridian powder of full foot external treatment combined with nursing intervention on grade 0 diabetic foot. Methods A total of 60 patients of grade 0 diabetic foot in our hospital for treatment of type 2 diabetes, were divided into experimental group and control group according to the random number table, each group of 30 cases. The patients of control group received routine treatment and nursing of diabetes, while the patients of experimental group used warming and dredge the meridian powder for full external foot on the basis of the control group. Fasting blood glucose (FBG), 2 h postprandial blood glucose (P2hBG), glycated albumin (GA), ankle brachial index (ABI), electromyogram examination and treatment efficiency were compared before and after the intervention. Results Compared with before treatment, fasting and 2 hour postprandial blood glucose were significantly decreased in both groups, the GA of experimental group declined as well (P<0. 05). After nursing intervention in the experimental group, the improvements of the FBG, P2hBG, ABI, motor nerve conduction and sensory nerve conduction were significantly lower than those of the control group, with statistical significance (P<0. 05). The effect of combined therapy for patients in the experimental group was significantly better than that of the control group (P<0. 05). Conclusions The warming and dredge the meridian powder of full foot external treatment combined with nursing intervention can promote the blood glucose level of patients with diabetic foot and blood glucose fluctuation, and nourish nerve and improve nerve conduction velocity.
