Lung cancer, as one of the malignant tumors with the fastest increasing morbidity and mortality in the world, has a serious impact on people's health. With the continuous advancement of medical technology, more and more medical methods are applied to lung cancer screening, which has gradually increased the detection rate of early lung cancer. At present, the standard operation for the treatment of early non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is still lobectomy and mediastinal lymph node dissection. There is a growing trend to use segmentectomy for the treatment of early stage lung cancer. Anatomical segmentectomy not only removes the lesions to the maximum extent, but also preserves the lung function to the greatest extent, and its advantages are also obvious. This article reviews the progress of anatomical segmentectomy in the treatment of early NSCLC.
2. Curative efficacy of proximal femoral nail antirotation versus intertrochanteric antegrade nail for treating intertrochanteric fracture in older adults
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2020;24(21):3310-3314
BACKGROUND: Proximal femoral nail is the first choice for treating intertrochanteric fractures. The studies concerning proximal femoral nail for senile intertrochanteric fractures mainly focus on proximal femoral nail antirotation/proximal femoral nail antirotation II, Gamma 3 and intertrochanteric antegrade nail. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical efficacy of proximal femoral nail antirotation II versus intertrochanteric antegrade nail in the treatment of intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly. METHODS: Forty-two cases of senile intertrochanteric fractures at Department of Orthopedics, First People’s Hospital of Xuancheng City from January 2016 to December 2018 were included, involving 15 males and 27 females, aged 65-90 years. Among which, 22 patients received internal fixation using proximal femoral nail antirotation II and 20 patients using intertrochanteric antegrade nail. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, fracture healing time, postoperative complications and the hip function scores at last follow-up were compared. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of First People’s Hospital of Xuancheng City, approval No. (2015)(17). RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The operation time in the proximal femoral nail antirotation group was shorter than that in the intertrochanteric antegrade nail group [(69.4±11.5), (90.0±9.7) minutes, P < 0.05]. The intraoperative blood loss in the proximal femoral nail antirotation group was less than that in the intertrochanteric antegrade nail group [(70.6±10.0), (86.5±11.1) mL, P < 0.05]. (2) There was no significant difference in the fracture healing time between two groups [(4.3±0.5), (4.1±0.4) months, P > 0.05]. (3) In the proximal femoral nail antirotation group, three cases suffered from pain at the affected limb, and one case of coxa vara deformity. One case in the intertrochanteric antegrade nail group appeared with pain at the affected limb. The postoperative incidence of complications between two groups showed no significant difference (18.2%, 5.0%, P > 0.05). (4) No significant difference was found in the Harris scores at the last follow-up between two groups (90.3±2.8, 91.5±2.4, P > 0.05). (5) There were no fracture adverse reactions related to internal fixation materials in the two groups. (6) In summary, proximal femoral nail antirotation II and intertrochanteric antegrade nail internal fixation are effective methods for intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly. However, proximal femoral nail antirotation II has short operation time and few intraoperative blood losses.

The study reconstructed vascular model by the realistic Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) data to investigate the influence of the local hemodynamics caused by different thickness and width of bioresorbable vascular scaffold (BRS) implantation in Left Anterior Descending (LAD) artery. The study explored the relationship between the stent structure and thrombus, and the result can provide a valuable reference for the optimal design of BRS.

Journal of Interventional Radiology 2019;28(3):280-283
Objective To compare high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation effect on uterine fibroids between patients with different uterus positions. Methods The clinical data of 372 patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids, who were treated with HIFU at authors' hospital, were retrospectively analyzed. According to the position of the uterus, the patients were divided into anteverted group, mid-position group and retroverted group. Single factor analysis of variance was used to compare the baseline data of fibroids and HIFU ablation results between each other among the three groups. Results Successful HIFU treatment was accomplished in all patients. The average age of the patients was (39±6) years. Single factor analysis of variance indicated that no statistically significant difference in baseline data of fibroids existed between each other among the three groups (P>0.05) . The one cm3 sonication time and energy efficiency factor (EEF) in the anteverted group were significantly smaller than those in the retroverted group, the differences were statistically significant (P =0.007 and P =0.017 respectively) . Conclusion Uterine fibroids within an anteverted uterus are more likely to be ablated by HIFU.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the epidemiological characteristics of human infections with avian influenza A (H7N9) in China and to provide scientific evidence for the adjustment of preventive strategy and control measures.
METHODSDemographic and epidemiologic information on human cases were collected from both reported data of field epidemiological investigation and the reporting system for infectious diseases.
RESULTSA total of 433 cases including 163 deaths were reported in mainland China before June 4, 2014. Two obvious epidemic peaks were noticed, in March to April, 2013 and January to February, 2014. Confirmed cases emerged in 14 areas of China. Five provinces, including Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Hunan, reported about 85% of the total cases. Median age of the confirmed cases was 58 years (range, 1-91), with 70% as males. Of the 418 cases with available data, 87% had ever exposed to live poultry or contaminated environments. 14 clusters were identified but human to human transmission could not be ruled out in 9 clusters.
CONCLUSIONHuman infections with avian influenza A (H7N9) virus showed the characteristics of obvious seasonal distribution, with certain regional clusters. The majority of confirmed cases were among the elderly, with more males seen than the females. Data showed that main source of infection was live poultry and the live poultry market had played a significant role in the transmission of the virus.
