Epilepsy is a common neurological disease, has the characteristics of recurrent attacks and long-term treatment, thus bringing great pressure to patients and their families. Therefore,it is particularly important to do a good job of disability assessment. In recent years, with the development of the discipline, academic organizations such as the International League Against Epilepsy(ILAE)and China Association Against Epilepsy(CAAE)have successively updated the definition and diagnostic criteria of epilepsy and seizures. However, some items of epilepsy in the current Criteria for Disability Rating of Military Personnel(Trial)issued by People's Liberation Army(PLA)in 2011 can no longer meet the latest guidelines at home and abroad. Therefore,we suggest that the items related to epilepsy in the Criteria for Disability Rating of Military Personnel(Trial)should be revised to ensure that the disability evaluation being completed fairly and successfully.

Objective To explore the effect of a R language-based autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)model for predicting the consumption of medical consumables. Methods The monthly consumption data of a certain type of pre-filled flush syringe from July 2018 to June 2023 was selected as the sample data, which underwent smoothness test and difference operation with R language. An ARIMA model was established and the optimal model was determined according to the Akaike and Bayesian information criteria. The corresponding data of the third quarter of 2023 was used as the validation set to predict the consumption, and the prediction result was compared with the actual values to evaluate the prediction effect of the ARIMA model. Results The ARIMA model with the best fitting was ARIMA(0,1,1)(1,0,0)12,all the predicted data were within 95%confidence interval, and its mean absolute percentage error MAPE was 9.92%.P-value proved to be higher than 0.05 when the residual series were tested using the Ljung-Box statistics, which meant the prediction result was satisfactory. Conclusion The R language-based ARIMA model behaves well in predicting the consumption of medical consumables, and provides references for demand planning, budgeting, purchasing and management of medical consumables.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2024,45(10):84-87]

Objective To propose an improved YOLOv5s-based lesion area detection method for ophthalmic ultrasound images so as to solve the problems due to high complexity, difficult deployment and low accuracy of the model during ophthalmic ultrasound imaging detection and diagnosis. Methods Firstly,an ophthalmic ultrasound image dataset was established contai-ning Lhe images of stellate vitreous degeneration, retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, posterior vitreous detachment and posterior scleral staphyloma.Secondly,a YOLOv5s-MobileNetV2 model was constructed based on YOLOv5s with the original backbone feature extraction network CSPDarkNet replaced by the lightweight network MobileNet.Thirdly, the model's performance in recognizing lesion areas in ophthalmic ultrasound images was evaluated by multi-category mean average precision(mAP),number of parameters and frames per second(FPS).Finally, the intelligent detection software for ophthalmic ultrasound images was designed based on PyQt5 library. Results The YOLOv5s-MobileNetV2 model had the mAP,number of parameters and FPS being 97.73%,4.61×106 and 47 f/s respectively, which gained advantages in timeliness over YOLOv5s by decreasing the mAP by 0.22%and the number of parameters by 34.98%.The developed intelligent detection software for ophthalmic ultrasound images behaved in human-computer interaction and clinical applicability of YOLOv5s-MobileNetV2 model. Conclusion The improved YOLOv5s-based lesion area detection method for ophthalmic ultrasound images meets clinical diagnosis requirements for ophthalmic diseases by involving in lightweight models and detecting lesion areas accurately.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2024,45(11):1-7]

Objective:To investigate the toxic effect of chlorambucil combined with ibrutinib on mantle cell lymphoma(MCL)cell line Jeko-1 and its related mechanism. Methods:The MCL cell line Jeko-1 was incubated with different concentrations of chlorambucil or ibrutinib or the combination of the two drugs,respectively.CCK-8 assay was used to detect the proliferation of the cells, and Western blot was used to measure the protein expression levels of BCL-2,caspase-3,PI3K,AKT and P-AKT.Results:After Jeko-1 cells were treated with chlorambucil(3.125,6.25,12.5,25,50 μmol/L)and ibrutinib(3.125,6.25,12.5,25,50 μmol/L)alone for 24,48,72h respectively, the cell proliferation was inhibited in a time-and dose-dependent manner. Moreover, the two drugs were applied in combination at low doses(single drug inhibition rate<50%),and the results showed that the combination of two drugs had a more significant inhibitory effect(all P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the apoptosis rate of the single drug group of chlorambucil(3.125,6.25,12.5,25,50 μmol/L)and ibutinib(3.125,6.25,12.5,25,50 μmol/L)was increased in a dose-dependent manner. The combination of the two drugs at low concentrations(3.125,6.25,12.5 μmol/L)could significantly increase the apoptosis rate compared with the corresponding concentration of single drug groups(all P<0.05).Compared with control group, the protein expression levels of caspase-3 in Jeko-l cells were upregulated, while the protein expression levels of BCL-2,PI3K,and p-AKT/AKT were downregulated after treatment with chlorambucil or ibrutinib alone. The combination of the two drugs could produce a synergistic effect on the expressions of the above-mentioned proteins, and the differences between the combination group and the single drug groups were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Chlorambucil and ibrutinib can promote the apoptosis of MCL cell line Jeko-1,and combined application of the two drugs shows a synergistic effect, the mechanism may be associated with the AKT-related signaling pathways.

In November 2023, the seventh National Nucleic Acid Vaccine Conference was held to deeply discuss the immune mechanism, safety risks, advantages, and disadvantages of nucleic acid vaccines, and review the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines developed by nucleic acid vaccine technology. Some prospectives were formed in the meeting that in the post-pandemic era, nucleic acid vaccine technology will play a role in the following areas: dealing with pathogens that are difficult to be prevented by traditional vaccines, promoting the upgrading of traditional live attenuated vaccines, contributing to the development of multivalent and combined vaccines, and rapid response to emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. These views point out the direction for the future development of nucleic acid vaccine technology.

Acta Physiologica Sinica 2023;75(1):82-90
Apoptosis and autophagy of follicular granulosa cells play an important regulatory role in the process of ovarian follicular atresia in animals. Recent studies have shown that ferroptosis and pyroptosis are also involved in the process of ovarian follicular atresia. Ferroptosis is a form of cell death caused by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation and reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation. Studies have confirmed that autophagy- and apoptosis-mediated follicular atresia also have typical characteristics of ferroptosis. Pyroptosis is a pro-inflammatory cell death dependent on Gasdermin protein, which can regulate ovarian reproductive performance by regulating follicular granulosa cells. This article reviews the roles and mechanisms of several types of programmed cell death independently or interactively regulating follicular atresia, in order to expand the theoretical research on follicular atresia mechanism and provide the theoretical reference for the mechanism of programmed cell death-induced follicular atresia.
