Objective To investigate the prevalence of Echinococcus infections in small rodents around human residential areas in Yushu City, Qinghai Province in 2023, so as to provide insights into precision echinococcosis control. Methods One or two quadrats, each measuring 50 m × 50 m, were randomly assigned in Shanglaxiu Township and Longbao Township, Yushu City, Qinghai Province on June 2023, respectively, and 300 plate-type mouse traps, each measuring 12.0 cm × 6.5 cm, were assigned in each quadrat. Small rodents were captured during the period between 10 : 00 and 18 : 00 each day for 4 days. Then, all captured small rodents were identified and dissected, and liver specimens with suspected Echinococcus infections were subjected to pathological examinations. The Echinococcus cytochrome c oxidase 1 (cox1) gene was amplified using PCR assay, and the sequence of the amplified product was aligned to that was recorded in the GenBank to characterize the parasite species. In addition, a phylogenetic tree of Echinococcus was generated based on the cox1 gene sequence using the neighbor-joining method. Results A total of 236 small rodents were captured in Shanglaxiu and Longbao townships, Yushu City, including 65 Qinghai voles and 51 plateau pikas in Shanglaxiu Township, and 62 Qinghai voles and 58 plateau pikas in Longbao Township, and there was no significant difference in the constituent ratio of small rodents between the two townships (χ² = 0.294, P > 0.05). Seven plateau pikas and 12 Qinghai voles were suspected to be infected with Echinococcus by dissection, and pathological examinations showed unclear structure of hepatic lobules and disordered hepatocyte arrangement in livers of small rodents suspected of Echinococcus infections. PCR assay identified E. shiquicus DNA in 7 Qinghai voles, which were all captured from Shanglaxiu Township. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the cox1 gene sequence of Echinococcus in small rodents was highly homologous to the E. shiquicus cox1 gene sequence reported previously. Conclusion Plateau pika and Qinghai vole were predominant small rodents around human residential areas in Yushu City, Qinghai Province in 2023, and E. shiquicus infection was detected in Qinghai voles.

Objective To investigate the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and potential influencing factors of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases in Qinghai Province from 2016 to 2022, so as to provide insights into the formulation of the echinococcosis control strategy in Qinghai Province. Methods The number of individuals screened for echinococcosis, number of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases, number of registered dogs and number of stray dogs were captured from the annual reports of echinococcosis control program in Qinghai Province from 2016 to 2022, and the detection of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases was calculated. The number of populations, precipitation, temperature, wind speed, sunshine hours, average altitude, number of year-end cattle stock, number of year-end sheep stock, gross domestic product (GDP) per capita, and number of village health centers in each county (district) of Qinghai Province were captured from the Qinghai Provincial Statistical Yearbook, and county-level electronic maps in Qinghai Province were downloaded from the National Platform for Common Geospatial Information Services. The software ArcGIS 10.8 was used to map the distribution of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases in Qinghai Province, and the spatial autocorrelation analysis of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases was performed. In addition, the spacetime scan analyses of number of individuals screened for echinococcosis, number of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases and geographical coordinates in Qinghai Province were performed with the software SaTScan 10.1.2, and the spatial stratified heterogeneity of the detection of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases was investigated with the software GeoDetector. Results A total of 6 569 426 residents were screened for echinococcosis in Qinghai Province from 2016 to 2022, and 5 924 newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases were found. The detection of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases appeared a tendency towards a decline over years from 2016 to 2022 (χ² = 11.107, P < 0.01), with the highest detection in Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in 2017 (82.12/10⁵). There were spatial clusters in the detection of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases in Qinghai Province from 2016 to 2018 (Moran’s I = 0.34 to 0.65, all Z values > 1.96, all P values < 0.05), and the distribution of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases appeared random distribution from 2019 to 2022 (Moran’s I = −0.09 to 0.04, all Z values < 1.96, all P values > 0.05). Local spatial autocorrelation analysis showed high-high clusters and low-low clusters in the detection of new diagnosed echinococcosis cases in Qinghai Province from 2016 to 2022, and space-time scan analysis showed that the first most likely cluster areas of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases in Qinghai Province from 2016 to 2022 were mainly distributed in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. GeoDetector-based analysis of the driving factors for the spatial stratified heterogeneity of detection of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases in Qinghai Province showed that average altitude, number of village health centers, number of cattle and sheep stock, GDP per capita, annual average sunshine hours, and annual average temperature had a strong explanatory power for the spatial distribution of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases, with q values of 0.630, 0.610, 0.600, 0.590, 0.588, 0.537 and 0.526, respectively. Conclusions The detection of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases appeared a tendency towards a decline in Qinghai Province over years from 2016 to 2022, showing spatial clustering. Targeted control measures are required in cluster areas of newly diagnosed echinococcosis cases for further control of the disease.

Objective:To explore the effect of homemade aromatic masks on nausea, vomiting and pain in non-small cell lung cancer patients with chemotherapy.Methods:From October 2018 to August 2019, convenience sampling was used to select 82 patients with non-small cell lung cancer admitted to the 900th Joint Logistic Support Unit of the People's Liberation Army of China. All patients were randomly divided into control group and experimental group, each with 41 cases. Control group carried out the routine care, and experimental group was treated with the homemade aromatic mask on this basis. The Chinese version of Index of Nausea and Vomiting and Retching (INVR) and the Brief Pain Index (BPI) were used to compare nausea, vomiting and pain indicators of patients between two groups during chemotherapy.Results:On the third day of chemotherapy, the total score of nausea and vomiting, and the average pain score of experimental group were (11.00±5.46) and (1.63±1.14) respectively, lower than those of control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( t=-6.635, -4.781; P<0.01) . Conclusions:The homemade aromatic mask can relieve chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in non-small cell lung cancer patients with chemotherapy, and reduce the pain of patients.

Objective: To investigate the effect of early multi-dimensional cardiac rehabilitation (CR) nursing mode on patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods: From August 2017 to July 2018, 100 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) underwent PCI in the Department of Cardiology, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University were selected as subjects. According to the random number table, the patients were divided into control group and observation group, 50 in each group. The control group received routine CR nursing intervention, and the observation group was given early multi-dimensional CR nursing mode for intervention. All patients were followed up for 6 months. The incidence of major cardiovascular adverse events (MACE) was observed 1 month and 6 months of follow-up. Patients with somatization were evaluated on the 2nd day after PCI and in the first month of follow-up using the Somatic Self-rating Scale (SSS). In the first month and the 6th month of follow-up, patient compliance was assessed using the 8-item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8). Results: During the study period, 3 patients were detached from each group, and there were 47 patients in both groups who completed the study. The incidence of MACE in the control group in 1 month and 6 months was 8.51% (4/47) and 4.26% (2/47), respectively. The incidence of MACE in the observation group was 10.64% (5/47) and 4.26%, (2/47) respectively. There was no significant difference in the incidence of MACE between the two groups (χ² value was 0.123, 0.000, P>0.05). In the first month of follow-up, the SSS scores of the control group (34.32±6.59) and the observation group (31.04±7.04) were lower than those of the second day after surgery (37.21±6.19, 37.43±7.29), and the difference was statistically significant (t value was 4.633, 2.660, P<0.05). The SSS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (t value was 2.330, P<0.05). In the first month of follow-up, there was no significant difference in MMAS-8 score between the two groups (P>0.05). In the 6th month of follow-up, the MMAS-8 score (5.72±0.62) in the control group was lower than the first month of follow-up (6.93±0.54), and the difference was statistically significant (t value was 10.028, P<0.05). The MMAS-8 score of the control group was lower than that of the observation group (6.89±0.58), and the difference was statistically significant (t value was 9.490, P<0.05). There was no significant difference in MMAS-8 score between the observation group in the first month of follow-up and the sixth month of follow-up (P>0.05). Conclusion Early multi-dimensional CR nursing mode has a limited effect on improving the incidence of MACE in patients after PCI, but it can effectively reduce the somatization symptoms of patients and maintain good medication compliance.

Objective: To compare the efficacy of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) and neo-anastomosis in juxta-anastomotic stenosis of autologous arteriovenous fistula (AVF) of diabetic hemodialysis patients. Methods: Diabetic patients with juxta-anastomotic stenosis in Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital from February 2016 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical data, success rate, patency time of PTA and vascular neo-anastomosis were compared. Results: Thirteen patients received PTA, including 1 case of surgical failure and 1 case of thrombosis, and the success rate was 11/13. Vascular neo-anastomosis were performed in 15 cases, and 13 cases succeeded. The success rate was 13/15, and the success rate between two groups had no significant (P > 0.05). The median patency time was 11(7-12) months and 15(5-22) months (P > 0.05). The volume of bleeding [3(2-4) ml vs. 20(10-40) ml], the length of blood vessel wastage [0 vs. (3.6 ± 1.2) cm] and the operating time [(0.6 ± 0.7) h vs. (1.8 ± 0.5) h] of PTA patients were less than those of vascular neo-anastomosis group, and there were significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusions There are no significant differences between PTA and neo-anastomosis with respect to patency. PTA has the advantages of less vascular injury, shorter operation time, less bleeding and can dilate arteries at the same time.

Objective To evaluate the relationship between the pathomechanism of neuropathic pain (NP)-inducced depression and autophagy in the cortex of the frontal lobe in rats.Methods Forty healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats in which IT catheters were successfully placed,aged 8-10 weeks,weighing 200-220 g,were divided into 4 groups (n =10 each) using a random number table method:sham operation group (group S),group NP,NP plus dimethyl sulfoxide group (group ND) and NP plus autophagy inducer rapamycin group (group NR).The neuropathic pain model was established by ligation of the left fifth spinal nerve of anesthetized rats in NP,ND and NR groups.Rapamycin 0.1 μgwas intrathecally injected via the intrathecal catheter immediately after ligation of the spinal nerve and every day after ligation once a day for 21 consecutive days in group NR.The equal volume of dimethyl sulfoxide was intrathecally injected instead of rapamycin in group ND.The mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (MWT) was measured before ligation and at 1,3,7,10,14 and 21 days after ligation.The forced swimming test was performed at 3 days before ligation and 14 and 21 days after ligation.The rats were sacrificed after the last measurement of the behaviour testing,and the prefrontal cortex was removed for determination of the expression of microtubule-associated protein light chain 3 Ⅰ (LC3 Ⅰ) and LC3 Ⅱ,Beclin-1 and p62 (by Western blot).The ratio of LC3 Ⅱ/LC3 Ⅰ was calculated.Results Compared with group S,the MWT was significantly decreased after ligation,the time of immobility was prolonged,the expression of LC3 Ⅰ was down-regulated,the expression of LC3 Ⅱ,Beclin-1 and p62 was up-regulated,and the LC3 Ⅱ/LC3 Ⅰ ratio was increased in NP and ND groups (P＜0.05).Compared with group NP,the MWT was significantly increased after ligation,the time of immobility was shortened,the expression of LC3 [and p62 was down-regulated,the expression of LC3 Ⅱ and Beclin-1 was up-regulated,and the LC3 Ⅱ/LC3 Ⅰ ratio was increased in group NR (P＜0.05).Conclusion Enhanced autophagy in the cortex of the frontal lobe is involved in the endogenous antidepressant mechanism in rats with NP.

Objective To evaluate the advantages of sevoflurane inhalation anesthesia combined with lumbosacral plexus block for hip replacement in elderly patients. Methods Sixty patients of both se-xes, aged 65-85 yr, with body mass index of 18-25 kg∕m2, of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical statusⅠ-Ⅲ, scheduled for elective unilateral hip replacement, were divided into 2 groups(n=30 each)using a random number table: total intravenous anesthesia group(TIVA group)and GasMan software-guided sevoflurane inhalation anesthesia combined with lumbosacral plexus block group(SEV-B group). After the laryngeal mask airway was inserted, the patients were mechanically ventilated in both groups. Heart rate and mean arterial pressure(MAP)were recorded before anesthesia(T0), immediate-ly after insertion of laryngeal mask airway(T1), immediately after skin incision(T2), immediately after intramedullary reaming(T3), immediately after prosthesis implanting(T4), at the end of surgery(T5) and at 5 min after removal of the laryngeal mask airway(T6). The end-tidal concentration of sevoflurane at T2-5was also recorded in group SEV-B. The time for removal of the laryngeal mask airway, duration of stay in post-anesthesia care unit and first ambulation time were recorded. The consumption of anesthetics used during patient-controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA), effective pressing times of PCIA, requirement for rescue analgesic and adverse reactions were also recorded at 24 h after surgery. The patient′s cognitive func-tion was assessed using Mini-Mental State Examination at 1 day before surgery and 1 and 3 days after surger-y, and the occurrence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction was recorded. Results Compared with group TIVA, heart rate at T1-6and MAP at T2-6were significantly decreased, and MAP at T1was increased in group SEV-B, and the time for removal of the laryngeal mask airway, duration of stay in post-anesthesia care unit and first ambulation time were significantly shortened, the consumption of anesthetics used during PCIA, effective pressing times of PCIA, requirement for rescue analgesic and incidence of adverse reac-tions were reduced at 24 h after surgery, the Mini-Mental State Examination scores were increased at 1 day after surgery, and the incidence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction was decreased at 1 day after surgery in group SEV-B(P<005). Conclusion GasMan software-guided sevoflurane inhalation anesthesia com-bined with lumbosacral plexus block can provide more accurate anesthesia management for hip replacement and promote rapid rehabilitation after surgery in elderly patients.

Objective To investigate the expression level and the significances of prognosis by miR-451a in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) in Guangxi. Methods The expressions of miR-451a in 89 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma were detected by real time RT-PCR. The relation among the expression level , the clinicopathologic features of NPC and its prognosis were analyzed. Results The expression of miR-451a were found in all of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The expression level of miR-451a in nasopharyngeal carcinoma was negative correlated to overall survival and disease free survival (P = 0.01,P = 0.04). Conclusions miR-451a may play a key role in detection of nasopharyngeal carcinoma with poor prognosis.

Objective To observe insulin resistance (IR) in non-diabetic peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients,and analyze its related factors.Methods The non-diabetic PD patients who had been on stable PD at least three months were eligible to enroll.The patients were measured for their height,weight,waist to hip ratio,fasting glucose,fasting insulin,lipids and other biochemical indicators,dialysis adequacy indicators in August 2012,and divided into two groups depended on median HOMA-IR in August 2012.Results A total of 56 patients were enrolled and divided into two groups according to median HOMA-IR,including high IR group (HOMA-IR≥ 1.79,n=29) and low IR group (HOMA-IR ＜ 1.79,n=27).Compared to low IR group,high IR group were older [(57.9±14.2) years vs (48.7±14.5) years],had higher daily dialysate glucose load [(138.7±28.5) mmol/L vs (114.0± 21.5) mmol/L],higher waist-to-hip ratio [(0.91±0.08) vs (0.86±0.07)],higher BMI [(23.0±3.0) kg/m2 vs (21.2±3.1) kg/m2],higher triglycerides [(2.51±1.36) mmol/L vs (1.42±0.48) mmol/L],lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [(1.00±0.27) mmol/L vs (1.23±0.32) mmol/L],and lower Kt/V [(1.74±0.37) vs (2.08±0.56)].Multivariate logistic regression showed that age (β=0.122,P=0.033),triglycerides (β=1.798,P=0.030) and daily dialysate glucose load (β=0.094,P=0.031) associated with the degree of insulin resistance.Conclusion More dialysate glucose exposure is a risk factor of the occurrence of insulin resistance in non-diabetic patients with peritoneal dialysis.

Objective To identify risk factors, incidence and trends of nosocomial infections in the neonate ward. Methods Total 6395 hospitalized neonates were sub-grouped by state of maturity, attending to neonate intensive care unit (NICU), length of stay, underlying diseases, use of antibacterial agents and mechanical ventilation. Clinical data were retrospectively analyzed in each subgroup. Results Among 6395 hospitalized neonates, 168 (2.63%) had nosocomial infections, and the incidence rates were of statistical difference among groups (P<0.01), Lower respiratory tract was the most frequent infection site accounting for 80.9% of all infections. 61.3% eases were caused by gram negative bacteria, in which 72.06% were enterobacteriaceae. Conclusions To prevent nosecomial infection among neonates the following measures should taken: improve care for NICU and premature babies, reduce length of stay, avoid invasive procedures, isolate infected neonates and use antibacterial agents rationally.
