BackgroundIn China, the structure shift from just one-child family to both one-child and more-than-one-child families is happening. Exploring how the sibling relationships effect between adolescent personality impulsivity and aggressivity is of great significance for promoting adolescent mental health as well as maintaining social harmony and stability. ObjectiveTo investigate the effecting path of sibling relationships between personality impulsivity and aggressivity in adolescents, so as to provide references for the prevention of violent and aggressive behavior in adolescents. MethodsFrom February to April, 2023, a total of 1 200 students with sibling relationships from 12 primary and secondary schools in a county of Sichuan province were included by random sampling. Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS-11), Chinese Version of Buss & Perry Aggression Questionnaire (AQ-CV), and Sibling Relationship Questionnaire (SRQ) were used for cross-sectional investigation. Pearson Correlation Analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the scores of these scales. Bootstrap method was used to test the effecting path of sibling relationships between personality impulsivity and aggressivity. ResultsThe total score of BIS-11 was positively correlated with that of AQ-CV as well as the scores of conflict and competition dimensions in SRQ (r=0.485、0.276、0.280,P<0.01), while negatively correlated with the score of warmth/intimacy dimension in SRQ (r=-0.383, P<0.01). The total score of AQ-CV was positively correlated with the scores of conflict and competition dimensions in SRQ (r=0.387, 0.340, P<0.01), while negatively correlated with the score of warmth/intimacy dimension in SRQ (r=-0.304, P<0.01). Within SRQ, negative correlations could be observed between the score of warmth/intimacy and scores of conflict and competition (r=-0.307, -0.375, P<0.01), whereas positive correlation could be observed between the score of conflict and that of competition (r=0.267, P<0.01). The total effect of personality impulsivity level on aggressivity level in adolescent was 0.480 (P<0.01). Sibling relationships played a mediating role between personality impulsivity and aggressivity in adolescents. Meanwhile, the indirect effect values of warmth/intimacy, conflict and competition were 0.054, 0.075 and 0.062, with the effect values accounting for 11.21%, 15.70% and 12.93%, respectively. ConclusionThe personality impulsivity of adolescents can directly affect their aggressivity, and sibling relationships may act as an important channel connecting personality impulsivity and aggressivity. ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of mucin 1 (MUC1) on the proliferation and apoptosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and its regulatory mechanism. MethodsThe 60 NPC and paired para-cancer normal tissues were collected from October 2020 to July 2021 in Quanzhou First Hospital. The expression of MUC1 was measured by real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) in the patients with PNC. The 5-8F and HNE1 cells were transfected with siRNA control (si-control) or siRNA targeting MUC1 (si-MUC1). Cell proliferation was analyzed by cell counting kit-8 and colony formation assay, and apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry analysis in the 5-8F and HNE1 cells. The qPCR and ELISA were executed to analyze the levels of TNF-α and IL-6. Western blot was performed to measure the expression of MUC1, NF-кB and apoptosis-related proteins (Bax and Bcl-2). ResultsThe expression of MUC1 was up-regulated in the NPC tissues, and NPC patients with the high MUC1 expression were inclined to EBV infection, growth and metastasis of NPC. Loss of MUC1 restrained malignant features, including the proliferation and apoptosis, downregulated the expression of p-IкB、p-P65 and Bcl-2 and upregulated the expression of Bax in the NPC cells. ConclusionDownregulation of MUC1 restrained biological characteristics of malignancy, including cell proliferation and apoptosis, by inactivating NF-κB signaling pathway in NPC.

Drug loading is an important index to evaluate the quality of solid preparation of traditional Chinese medicine. Drug loading is restricted by drug characteristics, dosage form, process, and drug delivery in vivo, which affects the preparation process, therapeutic effect, and drug release rate. By consulting domestic and foreign literature, this paper put forward the significance of increasing the drug loading: improving the compliance of patients, reducing the production cost, reducing the risk of the excipients. In this review, the possible approaches to increase drug loading, such as the selection of high-efficiency excipients, suitable drug preparation techniques, and modification of the physical properties of drugs are summarized. It will provide theoretical basis through this review for the development of high drug loading and high-quality formulations.

The process of semen collection plays a key role in the quality of semen specimens. However, the association between semen collection time and semen quality is still unclear. In this study, ejaculates by masturbation from 746 subfertile men or healthy men who underwent semen analysis were examined. The median (interquartile range) semen collection time for all participants was 7.0 (5.0-11.0) min, and the median time taken for semen collection was lower in healthy men than that in subfertile men (6.0 min vs 7.0 min). An increase in the time required to produce semen samples was associated with poorer semen quality. Among those undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART), the miscarriage rate was positively correlated with the semen collection time. After adjusting for confounders, the highest quartile (Q4) of collection time was negatively associated with semen volume and sperm concentration. A longer time to produce semen samples (Q3 and Q4) was negatively correlated with progressive and total sperm motility. In addition, there was a significant negative linear association between the semen collection time and the sperm morphology. Higher risks of asthenozoospermia (adjusted odds ratio [OR] = 2.06, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.31-3.25, P = 0.002) and teratozoospermia (adjusted OR = 1.98, 95% CI: 1.10-3.55, P = 0.02) were observed in Q3 than those in Q1. Our results indicate that a higher risk of abnormal semen parameter values was associated with an increase in time for semen collection, which may be related to male fertility through its association with semen quality.

		                        			BACKGROUND:
Butylphthalide (NBP) and edaravone (EDV) injection are common acute ischemic stroke medications in China, but there is a lack of large real-world safety studies on them. This study aimed to determine the incidence of adverse events, detect relevant safety signals, and assess the risk factors associated with these medications in real-world populations.

		                        			METHODS:
In this study, data of acute ischemic stroke patients were extracted from the electronic medical record database of six tertiary hospitals between January 2019 and August 2021. Baseline confounders were eliminated using propensity score matching. The drugs' safety was estimated by comparing the results of 24 laboratory tests standards on liver function, kidney function, lipid level, and coagulation function. The drugs' relative risk was estimated by logistic regression. A third group with patients who did not receive NBP or EDV was constructed as a reference. Prescription sequence symmetry analysis was used to evaluate the associations between adverse events and NBP and EDV, respectively.

		                        			RESULTS:
81,292 patients were included in this study. After propensity score matching, the NBP, EDV, and third groups with 727 patients in each group. Among the 15 test items, the incidence of adverse events was lower in the NBP group than in the EDV group, and the differences were statistically significant. The multivariate logistic regression equation revealed that NBP injection was not a promoting factor for abnormal laboratory test results, whereas EDV had statistically significant effects on aspartate transaminase, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and total cholesterol. Prescription sequence symmetry analysis showed that NBP had a weak correlation with abnormal platelet count. EDV had a positive signal associated with abnormal results in gamma-glutamyl transferase, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, prothrombin time, and platelet count.

		                        			CONCLUSIONS
In a large real-world population, NBP has a lower incidence of adverse events and a better safety profile than EDV or other usual medications.
