Objective: To explore the effects of personality and sleep quality with psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents, so as to provide a reference basis for precise interventions of junior and senior high school students mental health. Methods: In October 2023, a convenience sampling method was used to select 9 034 students aged 12-17 from Shiyan City as the study subjects. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) were used to collect information on sleep quality and psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents. Between group comparison was conducted by using t-test and Chi-square test. Generalized linear models were employed to analyze the interaction and joint effects of personality and sleep quality on psychological distress. Results: The generalized linear model analysis showed that the interaction between personality and sleep quality on psychological distress was statistically significant of junior and senior high school students(effect size=0.80, P <0.01). The general linear model analysis indicated that, after adjusting for variables such as age, gender, screen time, and daily sitting time with the extroverted and good sleep quality group as the reference, the introverted and poor sleep quality group had the largest mean difference in psychological distress scores (difference=0.51, P <0.05). When stratified by sleep quality, psychological distress scores were higher in the introverted and neutral personality groups with both poor and good sleep quality compared to the extroverted group (poor sleep quality: introverted difference=3.71, neutral difference=1.14; good sleep quality: introverted difference=2.23, neutral difference=0.57, all P < 0.05). When stratified by personality, psychological distress scores were higher in the poor sleep quality groups for introverted, neutral, and extroverted individuals compared to their good sleep quality counterparts (differences=8.66, 7.83, 7.34, all P < 0.05 ). Conclusions Personality and sleep quality have interactive and joint effects on psychological distress of junior and senior high school stduents. Personalized psychological interventions should be developed based on personality and sleep quality.

OBJECTIVE To systematically evaluate risk prediction models for chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in breast cancer， and provide a scientific reference for clinical healthcare workers in selecting or developing effective predictive models. METHODS A systematic search was conducted for studies on predictive models of the risk of chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in breast cancer across the CNKI， VIP， Wanfang， PubMed， Web of Science， Cochrane Library， Embase， and Scopus databases， with a time frame of the establishment of the database to May 7， 2024. Literature was independently screened by 2 investigators， data were extracted according to critical appraisal and data extraction for systematic reviews of predictive model studies， and the risk of bias evaluation tool for predictive model studies was used to analyze the risk of bias and applicability of the included studies. RESULTS There were totally 7 studies， comprising 12 models. Among them， 11 models indicated an area under the subject operating characteristic curve of 0.600-0.908； 2 models indicated calibration. The common predictor variables of the included models were age， pre-chemotherapy neutrophil count， pre-chemotherapy lymphocyte count， and pre-chemotherapy albumin. The overall risk of bias of the 7 studies was high， which was mainly attributed to the flaws in the study design， insufficient sample sizes， inappropriate treatment of variables， non-reporting of missing data， and the lack of indicators for the assessment of the models， but the applicability was good. CONCLUSIONS The predictive performance of risk predictive models for chemotherapy-induced myelosuppression in breast cancer remains to be further enhanced， and the overall risk of model bias is high. Future studies should follow the specifications of model development and reporting， then combine machine learning algorithms to develop risk predictive models with good predictive performance， high stability， and low risk of bias， so as to provide a decision-making basis for the clinic.

ObjectivePatients with hepatic glycogen storage disease（GSD）have recurrent episodes of hypoglycemia. This study aimed to investigate and analyze blood glucose and biochemical indicators in pediatric patients with hepatic GSD， thus provide data support for hypoglycemia prevention and its clinical management. MethodsA cross-sectional field study was conducted among patients with hepatic GSD treated in the Department of Pediatrics of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital on July 14， 2024. We collected the peripheral blood samples of the patients and their healthy family controls on site， then analyzed and compared their blood glucose and biochemical indicators. ResultsOf the 44 patients with hepatic GSD， there were 34 males and 10 females， including GSD Ib（n =14）， GSD Ia（n=15）， GSD Ⅲ（n=2）， GSD Ⅵ（n=7）and GSD Ⅸ（n=6）. The average age was 7.60（5.08-11.98）years. All patients were on uncooked cornstarch（UCCS）therapy. Of the patients， 77.3%（34/44）had hepatomegaly， 61.4%（27/44）had recurrent hypoglycemia， 61.4%（27/44）had blood glucose ≤ 3.9 mmol/L， 18.2%（8/44）had blood glucose ≤ 2.8 mmol/L， and none of the 8 cases was GSD Ib. The lowest blood glucose level was 1.19 mmol/L and no episodes of hypoglycemia occurred. Of the family control subjects， 65.9%（29/44）had blood glucose ≤ 3.9 mmol/L. There was no significant difference in hypoglycemia prevalence between hepatic GSD group and control group（P=0.658）. The hepatic GSD patients had hyperlactacemia， hyperuricemia and hypercholesterolemia prevalence rates of 65.9%， 45.5% and 9.1%， respectively， as compared with 18.2%， 43.2% and 15.9%， respectively， for the family control subjects. No significant difference was found in the prevalence rates of hyperuricemia and hypercholesterolemia between the two groups（P=0.830 and P=0.334， respectively）. ConclusionsAsymptomatic hypoglycemia is common in patients with hepatic GSD， especially in non-GSD-Ib patients. It is necessary to optimize the diet management of UCCS， conduct dynamic blood glucose monitoring and follow a light diet， so as to decrease hyperuricemia and hypercholesterolemia， avoid and reduce the serious adverse reactions and complications caused by severe hypoglycemia.

Gastrin, through the cholecystokinin B receptor (CCKBR), can induce natriuresis and diuresis by inhibiting renal NHEs activity. The present study aims to unveil the role of renal CCKBR in diabetes through SGLT2-mediated glucose reabsorption. Methods: Renal tubule-specific Cckbr-knockout (CckbrCKO) mice and wild-type (WT) mice were utilized to investigate the effect of renal CCKBR on SGLT2 and systemic glucose homeostasis under normal diet, high-fat diet (HFD), and HFD with a subsequent injection of a low dose of streptozotocin. The regulation of SGLT2 expression by gastrin/CCKBR and the underlying mechanism was explored using human kidney (HK)-2 cells. Results: CCKBR was downregulated in kidneys of diabetic mice. Compared with WT mice, CckbrCKO mice exhibited a greater susceptibility to obesity and diabetes when subjected to HFD. In vitro experiments using HK-2 cells revealed an upregulation of glucose transporters after incubation with high glucose, a response that was significantly attenuated following gastrin intervention. The glucose uptake from the culture medium of cells was altered accordingly. Moreover, gastrin administration effectively mitigated hyperglycemia in WT diabetic mice by inhibition of SGLT2 mediated glucose reabsorption, but this effect was compromised in the absence of CCKBR, as seen in CckbrCKO mice. Mechanistically, gastrin/CCKBR substantially reduced SGLT2 expression in HK-2 cells exposed to high glucose, via modulating Erkuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) pathway. Conclusion Our study underscores the crucial role of renal gastrin/CCKBR in SGLT2 regulation and glucose reabsorption, and renal gastrin/CCKBR can be a promising therapeutic target for diabetes.

ObjectiveTo explore the diagnostic value of plasma C-C motif chemokine ligand 3（CCL3） levels in infectious diseases. MethodsThe study enrolled patients in hospital or outpatient service and individuals undergoing health check-ups at Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital from July to October 2023. Patients clinically diagnosed with infectious diseases were assigned to the experimental group， while those who were healthy or diagnosed with non-infectious diseases were included in the control group. After non-qualifying samples were excluded， residual blood specimens from complete blood count （CBC） tests were collected to measure the plasma CCL3 levels.The CBC parameters including white blood cell count （WBC）， neutrophils count （NEUT）， eosinophils count （EOS），etc， and the plasma CCL3 levels were analyzed between the infectious and control groups to evaluate the clinical diagnostic value of CCL3 in infectious diseases. ResultsA total of 257 cases were enrolled， with 167 in the experimental group （active infections confirmed via clinical symptoms， CBC， inflammatory markers， or etiological examinations） and 90 in the control group （confirmed absence of active infections）. The experimental group exhibited higher levels of WBC， NEUT and CCL3 than the control group， while the lymphocytes count（LYMPH）， EOS in the experimental group were lower， with statistical significance （P<0.001） in univariate analysis. By using these significantly different indicators as independent variables， logistics regression modeling identified WBC， NEUT and CCL3 as independent risk factors for infection. Receiver operating characteristic（ROC） curve analysis revealed superior diagnostic performance of CCL3 over WBC and NEUT， while LYMP and EOS showed no diagnostic performance. The area under the curve （AUC） for CCL3 was 0.844 （95% CI： 0.795， 0.892）， with a sensitivity of 84.4%， a specificity of 69.8%， and an optimal threshold of 106.405 ng/mL. ConclusionPlasma CCL3 levels have clinical diagnostic value in predicting infectious diseases and may serve as a potential clinical biomarker for detecting infectious diseases.

Objective To understand the sleep status in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD), and to explore its relationship with dyskinesia and negative emotions. Methods A total of 308 patients with PD who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in the hospital from September 2022 to May 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The scores of sleep status [Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI)], dyskinesia [Simplified Fugl-Meyer Motor Assessment (FMA)] and negative emotions [Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II)] were analyzed, and the PSQI score was compared among patients with different demographic characteristics. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to analyze the correlation of sleep with dyskinesia and negative emotions in patients with PD. Results The total score of PSQI scale was (6.16±0.97) points in 308 PD patients, of which 208 cases (67.53%) were complicated with sleep disorders. The proportions of female, 61-75 years old, technical secondary school or below, disease course of 4 years and above, Hoehn-Yahr stage IV and unmarried status in the sleep disorder group were higher than those in the non-sleep disorder group (P<0.05). Compared with the non-sleep disorder group, the FMA score in the sleep disorder group was lower (P<0.05) while the BAI score and BDI-II score were higher (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis revealed that PSQI was negatively correlated with FMA (r=-0.489, P<0.05), and was positively correlated with BAI and BDI-II (r=0.476, 0.502, P<0.05). Conclusion The incidence rate of sleep disorders in PD patients is high. PSQI is negatively correlated with FMA, and is positively correlated with BAI and BDI-II.

OBJECTIVE To explore the effect and mechanism of embryonic intervention with Zuogui pill on the glucose tolerance in offsprings of pregnant rats with gestational diabetes mellitus. METHODS Pregnant rats were randomly divided into blank group， model group， positive control group （insulin glargine）， Zuogui pill low-， medium- and high-dose groups （4.725， 9.45， 18.9 g/kg）. In addition to the blank group， streptozotocin was injected intraperitoneally to establish a gestational diabetes mellitus rat model. From day 6 to day 18 of pregnancy， each group was given relevant medicine and distilled water intragastrically， once a day. After 21 days of birth， the body weight and body length of offsprings were recorded， and the area under the curve （AUC） was calculated through a glucose tolerance test. After 22 days of birth， fasting blood glucose （FBG）， fasting insulin （FINS） levels in serum， insulin sensitivity index （ISI）， and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance （HOMA-IR） were measured， and the morphological structure of pancreatic tissue was observed. The protein spectrum of pancreatic tissue was analyzed by tandem mass tag-based proteomics， and protein and mRNA expression levels of apolipoprotein A1（ApoA1）， solute carrier family 27 member 1 （Slc27a1）， kininogen 1（Kng1） and sodium/potassium-transporting ATPase subunit alpha 2 （Atp1a2）， solute carrier family 7 member 5 （Slc7a5）， solute carrier family 3 member 2 （Slc3a2）， bile acid-coenzyme A： amino acid N- acyltransferase （Baat）， eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunit gamma （Eif2s3） were detected. RESULTS Compared with the model group， the body weight， body length and ISI of offsprings in the positive control group and Zuogui pill medium-dose group were significantly increased （P＜0.05）， while the glucose tolerance and islet cell proliferation were significantly improved， and the AUC， FBG， FINS and HOMA-IR were significantly decreased （P＜0.05）. There were 88 potential target proteins for the embryonic intervention of Zuogui pill in offsprings of pregnant rats with gestational diabetes mellitus，involving multiple pathways such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor （PPAR）， cyclic guanosine monophosphate-protein kinase G （cGMP-PKG）， fat digestion and absorption， and bile secretion. The proteins closely related to glucose metabolism and insulin resistance mainly included ApoA1， Slc27a1， Kng1， Atp1a2， Slc7a5， Slc3a2， Baat， and Eif2s3. Among them， compared with the model group， protein and mRNA expressions of Slc7a5， Slc3a2， and Baat in the pancreatic tissues of pregnant rat offsprings in the Zuogui pill medium-dose group were significantly up-regulated （P＜0.05）； protein and mRNA expressions of ApoA1， Slc27a1， Kng1， Atp1a2 and Eif2s3 were all significantly down-regulated （P＜0.05）. CONCLUSIONS The intervention of Zuogui pill in the embryonic period on offsprings of pregnant rats with gestational diabetes mellitus can improve their blood glucose levels and pancreatic pathological morphology. The mechanism may be related to the upregulation of the expressions of Slc7a5， Slc3a2， and Baat and the down-regulation of ApoA1， Slc27a1， Kng1， Atp1a2 and Eif2s3 expressions in the PPAR， cGMP-PKG， fat digestion and absorption， and bile secretion pathways.
