However, this could be different in first-episode schizophrenia spectrum disorders (FE-SSDs). We investigated what proportion of patients with FE-SSDs was diagnosed based on the sole presence of bizarre delusions (BDs) or first rank auditory hallucinations (FRAHs). Their alternative diagnosis by the DSM-5 was established and diagnostic stability over 1-year was identified. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			This was a retrospective review study on the medical records, case report forms for the subjects with FE-SSDs (n=404) participated in the Korea Early Psychosis Study. The two Japanese sites reviewed retrospectively only medical records of the subjects with FE-SSDs (n=103). We used three different definitions of BDs (strict, narrow, and broad) and specified subtypes of Other Specified Schizophrenia spectrum and Other psychotic disorders (OSSOs). To ensure inter-rater reliability between the hospitals, regular zoom meetings were held. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Forty (7.89%) subjects out of 507 were found to be diagnosed as SSDs based on the sole presence of BDs or FRAHs. All these patients met the criteria of OSSOs and were classified as having pure delusion (n=22), delusion with attenuated auditory hallucinations (AHs) (n=5), pure AHs (n=3) and AHs with attenuated delusion (n=10). The patients with first and second subtypes (n=27) were found to have BDs. The BDs fulfilled mostly strict definitions or satisfied the next broadest definition. The diagnostic stability of FE-OSSOs and its subgroups (first and second subtypes) over 1-year was substantially high (70.27% and 84% respectively). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion

6.Minimally Invasive Open Bilateral Total Thyroidectomy Using Unilateral Neck Incision in Thyroid Cancer: Preliminary Surgical and Quality of Life Outcomes

		                        			 Purpose:
		                        			Thyroid cancer incidence has increased in recent decades, and thyroid surgery is continuously evolving in response to demands for postoperative comfort and cosmesis. This study aimed to introduce a new surgical method for minimally invasive open bilateral total thyroidectomy (MI-BTT) using a unilateral 2.5–3.0 cm neck incision. Furthermore, we reported the surgical outcomes and postoperative quality of life (QoL) using a validated Korean translated Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) questionnaire. 
		                        		
		                        			Materials and Methods:
		                        			We retrospectively evaluated 41 Asian patients who underwent MI-BTT for low-risk papillary thyroid cancer by a single surgeon from March 2019 to December 2021. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			A total of 4 male and 37 female patients were included. The mean age and body mass index were 46.2±10.1 years and 23.3±3.3 kg/m2 , respectively. The average tumor size was 1.1±0.6 cm, and 36 patients (87.8%) had bilateral cancer. Twenty-three (56.1%) patients had occult central lymph node (CLN) metastasis in the final pathologic report, with the mean number of dissected CLNs being 7.2±6.5. Gross capsular extension was found in 6 patients (14.6%). Moreover, 28 patients (68.3%) received additional treatment after surgery with low or high doses of radioactive iodine. The average serum-stimulated thyroglobulin value identified during treatment was 1.57±2.30 ng/mL. The mean operation time was 78.0±13.9 minutes, and postoperative complications included transient hypocalcemia (36.6%), transient hoarseness (24.4%), and seroma (2.4%). The mean total DLQI score was 2.73±0.78, indicating a small effect on QoL. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			MI-BTT is a novel, safe, and feasible technique to improve patient satisfaction for surgical scars and QoL. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
7.The Comparison of Cepstral Peak Prominence by Using Speech Tool and Praat for Voice Analysis of Patients With Vocal Cord Palsy

		                        			 Background and Objectives:
		                        			This study aimed to evaluate the voice of patients with vocal cord palsy using the Praat compared to Speech tool.Materials and Method The medical record of the patients with vocal cord palsy from 2013 to 2021 was analyzed retrospectively to validate Praat as a voice evaluation modality compared to the speech tool. Total 60 patients were enrolled in this study. Thirty control and 30 vocal cord palsy patients were selected to undergo recording of voice samples. The voice samples, /a/ and “Sancheck” were evaluated both groups and cepstral peak prominence was analyzed with both modalities; Praat and speech tool. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Statistically significant differences were observed between the control and vocal cord palsy groups in the speech tool and Praat. There was also a significant difference between pre- and post-treatment values in the vocal cord palsy group. A similar change in the voice value was observed using both methods. The Praat showed a lower value in 1st visit of patients with vocal cord palsy in the vowel test. The Praat vowel test may sensitively represent voice problems in patients with vocal cord palsy. This could contribute to decision-making regarding the treatment modality for vocal cord palsy. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			Praat is open-access software that is freely available. It can be easily and sufficiently used for voice evaluation in patients with vocal cord palsy. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
8.Development and validation of a method for the simultaneous quantification of endogenous steroids metabolized by CYP3A

		                        			 Cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A enzymes, the most important phase 1 drug-metabolizing enzymes, are responsible for 50% of the metabolism of clinically used drugs. CYP3A activity varies widely among individuals, which can affect the probability of adverse drug reactions and drug-drug interactions mediated by the induction or inhibition of the enzyme. Hence, it is important to be able to predict CYP3A activity in individuals to reduce the incidence of unexpected drug responses. To specifically and quickly measure CYP3A activity, we developed method based on gas chromatography interfaced with triple-quadrupole mass spectrometry for the quantification of cortisol, cortisone, 6β-hydroxycortisol, and 6β-hydroxycortisone simultaneously in urine and 4β-hydroxycholesterol in plasma. The results were calculated based on charcoal-stripped steroid-free urine and plasma control samples. The accuracy and precision were 93.18% to 110.0% and 1.96% to 5.34%, respectively. This method was then applied to measure endogenous steroids from urine and plasma samples of healthy Korean males and females. The calibration curves of all analytes showed good linearity with a correlation coefficient (r2) that ranged from 0.9953 to 0.9999. Therefore, this validated method can be used to measure endogenous biomarkers to predict CYP3A activity and might be applicable in the prediction of CYP3A-mediated drug interactions of new drug candidates. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
9.Effects of Copy Number Variations on Developmental Aspects of Children With Delayed Development

		                        			OBJECTIVE: To determine effects of copy number variations (CNV) on developmental aspects of children suspected of having delayed development. METHODS: A retrospective chart review was done for 65 children who underwent array-comparative genomic hybridization after visiting physical medicine & rehabilitation department of outpatient clinic with delayed development as chief complaints. Children were evaluated with Denver Developmental Screening Test II (DDST-II), Sequenced Language Scale for Infants (SELSI), or Preschool Receptive-Expressive Language Scale (PRES). A Mann-Whitney U test was conducted to determine statistical differences of developmental quotient (DQ), receptive language quotient (RLQ), and expressive language quotient (ELQ) between children with CNV (CNV(+) group, n=16) and children without CNV (CNV(–) group, n=37). RESULTS: Of these subjects, the average age was 35.1 months (mean age, 35.1±24.2 months). Sixteen (30.2%) patients had copy number variations. In the CNV(+) group, 14 children underwent DDST-II. In the CNV(–) group, 29 children underwent DDST-II. Among variables, gross motor scale was significantly (p=0.038) lower in the CNV(+) group compared with the CNV(–) group. In the CNV(+) group, 5 children underwent either SELSI or PRES. In the CNV(–) group, 27 children underwent above language assessment examination. Both RLQ and ELQ were similar between the two groups. CONCLUSION: The gross motor domain in DQ was significantly lower in children with CNV compared to that in children without CNV. This result suggests that additional genetic factors contribute to this variability. 10.Reclassification of Acute Myeloid Leukemia According to the 2016 WHO Classification

		                        			We reviewed our leukemia database to reclassify 610 patients previously diagnosed as having acute myeloid leukemia (AML) according to the updated 2016 WHO classification. Nine patients were categorized as having myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloid neoplasms with germline predisposition. AML with recurrent genetic abnormalities accounted for 57.4% (345/601) of the patients under the 2016 WHO classification. AML with mutated NPM1 was the most common form (16.5%), with the majority associated with monocytic differentiation (63.6%). AML with double CEBPA mutations accounted for 8.3% of these cases, and the majority were previously diagnosed as AML with/without maturation (78.0%). These newly classified mutations were mutually exclusive without overlapping with other forms of AML with recurrent genetic abnormalities. AML with mutated NPM1 and AML with myelodysplasia-related changes comprised the oldest patients, whereas AML with RUNX1-RUNX1T1 included the youngest patients. The leukocyte count was highest in AML with mutated NPM1, and the percentage of peripheral blood blasts was the highest in AML with double CEBPA mutations. Our results indicate that implementation of the 2016 WHO classification of AML would not pose major difficulties in clinical practice.
