ObjectiveTo characterize the seasonal patterns of influenza in Kunming City, Yunnan Province before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and provide scientific evidence for optimizing influenza prevention and control strategies. MethodsInfluenza-like illness (ILI) and etiological surveillance data for influenza from the 14th week of 2010 to the 13th week of 2024 in Kunming City of Yunnan Province were collected. Harmonic regression models were constructed to analyze the epidemic characteristics and seasonal patterns of influenza before (2010/2011‒2019/2020 influenza seasons), during (2020/2021‒2022/2023 influenza seasons), and after (2023/2024 influenza season) the COVID-19 pandemic. ResultsBefore the COVID-19 pandemic, influenza in Kunming City mainly exhibited an annual cyclic pattern without a significant semi-annual periodicity, peaking from December to February of the next year, with an epidemic duration of 20‒30 weeks. During the pandemic, influenza seasonality shifted, with an increase in semi-annual periodicity and an approximate one month delay in annual peaks. However, after the pandemic, the annual amplitude of influenza increased compared with that before the pandemic, and the epidemic duration extended by about one month. Although the annual peak largely reverted to the pre-pandemic levels, the annual peaks for different influenza subtypes/lineages had not fully recovered. ConclusionInfluenza seasonality in Kunming City underwent substantial alterations following the COVID-19 pandemic and has not yet fully reverted to pre-pandemic levels. Continuous surveillance on different subtypes/lineages of influenza viruses remains essential, and prevention and control strategies should be adjusted and optimized in a timely manner based on current epidemic trends.

Bone defect has always been a major clinical challenge because of its great difficulty and long period of treatment. Drynariae Rhizoma is a commonly used medicine in osteology and traumatology of traditional Chinese medicine, and its active ingredients(mainly flavonoids) facilitate osteoblast differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, osteoclast proliferation, vascular-osteogenic coupling, and inhibit osteoclast activity to promote bone mineralization, and repair and reconstruction of bone defect. As a good substitute for bone regeneration drugs, the active constituents of Drynariae Rhizoma can be loaded on scaffold materials of tissue engineering, which greatly improves the bioavailability of the drug. Meanwhile, the sustained-release microspheres also solve some problems such as sudden drug release from the scaffolds, and the composite scaffolds with active ingredient of Drynariae Rhizoma prepared by them have good ossification activity and osteoinduction, with precise bone repair effects, which meet the diverse performance requirements of bone grafts and have a promising clinical application prospect.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the role of the SIRT1/NF-κB pathway in mediating the effect of puerarin against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute kidney injury (AKI).
METHODS:
Fifteen BALB/C mice were randomized into control group, LPS group and puerarin treatment group, and in the latter two groups, the mice were given an intraperitoneal injection of LPS (5 mg/kg), followed by daily injection of normal saline for 3 days or injection of puerarin (25 mg/kg) given 1 h later and then on a daily basis for 3 days. On day 5 after modeling, the kidney tissues were taken for histological observation and detection of cell apoptosis. The renal function indexes including urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (Scr) and kidney injury molecule 1 (KIM-1) and the levels of tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) and interleukin 1β (IL-1β) were measured, and the expressions of SIRT1 and NF-κB-p65(acetyl K310) in the renal tissues were detected.
RESULTS:
Intraperitoneal injection of LPS caused obvious glomerular capillary dilatation, hyperemia, renal interstitial edema, and renal tubular epithelial cell swelling and deformation in the mice. The mouse models of LPS-induced AKI also showed significantly increased renal tubular injury score and renal cell apoptosis (P < 0.01) with increased serum levels of BUN, Scr, KIM-1, TNF-α and IL-1β (P < 0.01), enhanced renal expressions of TNF-α, IL-1β and NF-κB p65(acetyl K310) (P < 0.01) and lowered renal expression of SIRT1 (P < 0.05). Treatment with puerarin effectively alleviated LPS-induced renal interstitial edema and renal tubular epithelial cell shedding, lowered renal tubular injury score (P < 0.01) and renal cell apoptosis rate (P < 0.01), and decreased serum levels of BUN, Scr, KIM, TNF-α and IL-1β (P < 0.01). Puerarin treatment significantly reduced TNF-α, IL-1β and NF-κB p65 (acetyl K310) expression in the renal tissue (P < 0.05) and increased SIRT1 expression by 17% (P < 0.05) in the mouse models.
CONCLUSION
Puerarin can effectively alleviate LPS-induced AKI in mice possibly by modulating the SIRT1/NF-κB signaling pathway.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2022;43(3):399-402
Objective:
To provide longitudinal evidence for interventions in suicidal behavior among college students, this study explored the mechanisms underlying the relationship between cyberbully.
Methods:
Based on the general strain theory, 558 college students from Beijing and Xi an were followed up 2 times(T1 and T2) by using the Cyberbullying Questionnaire, Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation and Center for Epidemiological Survey Depression Scale(CES-D).
Results:
T1 cyberbully could positively predict depression and suicidal ideation among college students at T2( β =0.06, 0.15, P <0.01), and depression at T1 could positively predict suicidal ideation among college students at T2( β =0.29, P <0.01). The mediation effect revealed that depression at T1 could mediate the relationship between cyberbully and suicidal ideation. Compared to boys, girls were likely to be affected by cyberbully and resulted in depression and suicidal ideation.
Conclusion
Findings contribute to the prespective causal relation between cyberbullying and suicidal ideation among college students and provide the longitudinal evidence for intervention of suicidal ideation.

Objective To analyze and investigate the risk factors for intraoperative and postoperative bleeding complications of stent implantation for ruptured intracranial aneurysms(from rupture to operation time ≤14 d). Methods A total of 249 consecutive patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH)treated with stent intravascular interventional therapy at the Department of Neurosurgery,Tangdu Hospital, the Second Hospital Affiliated to Air Force Medical University(the Fourth Military Medical University)from August 2014 to July 2017 were enrolled retrospectively.According to whether having intraoperative and postoperative bleeding complications, they were divided into either a hemorrhage complication group(n=33)or a non-complication group(n=216).The baseline data, clinical data, and aneurysm characteristics, including age, sex, hypertension,Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS)score,aSAH to the patients were documented and analyzed, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors for bleeding complications. Results (1)The incidence of perioperative bleeding complications was 13. 3% (33 /249). (2)There was significant difference in GCS scores between the bleeding complication group and the non-complication group (P < 0. 05). There were no significant differences in age, male, hypertension, and aSAH to operation time between the two groups (all P >0. 05). (3)There were significant differences in Hunt-Hess grade (χ2 = 10. 392,P = 0. 001),Fisher score (χ2 = 7. 370,P =0. 007),number of aneurysms (χ2 = 4. 825,P = 0. 028),and aneurysm location (χ2 = 6. 818, P = 0. 033)between the bleeding complication group and the non-complication group. There were no significant differences in Raymond grade between the two groups (P > 0. 05). (4)Taking the occurrence of bleeding complications as a dependent variable,a further multivariate logistic regression analysis on Hunt- Hess grades Ⅲ-Ⅴ and multiple aneurysms was performed after variable screening, the results showed that Hunt-Hess grades Ⅲ-Ⅴ(OR,3. 658,95% CI 1. 660 -8. 061)and multiple aneurysms (OR,2. 667,95% CI 1.178-6.036)were the independent risk factors for stent placement in the treatment of bleeding complications of ruptured intracranial aneurysms(all P <0.05). Conclusions The single stent and stent-assisted coils can be used for endovascular treatment of rupture intracranial aneurysms, but preoperative Hunt-Hess grades Ⅲ-Ⅴ and multiple aneurysms are easy to cause perioperative bleeding complications in patients with aSAH.

With human placed in the whole nature, by following the biologic evolution path, the property of channel structure for "imprinting template" in meridian andwas explored with supramolecular chemistry. In the history of biologic evolution, each molecule in "molecule society" gradually developed into various highly-ordered supramolecular bodies based on self-identification, self-assembly, self-organization, self-replicating of"imprinting template", and thereby the original biochemical system was established, and finally evolved into human. In the forming process of supramolecular bodies, the channel structure of"imprinting template" in guest supramolecular bodies would be kept by host supramolecular bodies, and communicate with the outside to exchange materials, energy, information, otherwise life phenomenon could not continue, for which it was the chemical nature of biolo-gical supramolecular bodies for body to develop meridian. Therefore, the human was a gigantic and complicated supramolecules body in biological nature, and possessed the supramolecules "imprinting template" at each stage of evolution, for which the meridians were formed. When meridians converged, acupoints appeared; when acupointsconverged, appeared. With the promotion of the blood from heart, according to"imprinting template", the guest supramolecular bodies and host meridian produced-analysis, which was the-phenomenon of guest in meridian. It presented asimage of physiology and pathology as well as action regularities of medication and acupuncture tolerance, by which current various meridian viewpoints could be explained and propose the hypothesis of meridian supramolecular bodies. The meridian and its phenomenon was decide by its "imprinting template" of supramolecular bodies and self-reaction regularities, which abided through the living nature. This was the substance for meridian biology.

Objective To investigate the effect of elemene on mRNA expressions of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor associated factor 6 (TRAF6) and caspase-8 in tumor tissues of mice bearing hepatoma H22.Methods Forty BALB/c mice models bearing hepatoma H22 were established by subcutaneous inoculating tumor cells.Forty BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 4 groups:model group,low-and high-elemene dosage groups, and cisplatin group. The tumors after executing mice were weighted. The mRNA expressions of TRAF6 and caspase-8 in tumor tissues were detected by quantitative real-time reversetranscription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).Results The dosage of elemene could inhibit tumor growth. The inhibition ratio of cancer in the low-and high-elemene dosage and cisplatin group was 24.2%,27.4%,and 28.2%,respectively.It reduced significantly tumor weights(P <0.01).Compared to the model group, the expression level of TRAF6 mRNA on tumors was decreased significantly, while the expression level of caspase-8 mRNA was increased significantly in the other groups(P < 0.05).Conclusions The present results indicated that molecular mechanism of inhibition of liver cancer growth treated by elemene might be through down-regulating mRNA expressions of TRAF6 and caspase-8,promoting tumor cells apoptosis, and achieving the anti-tumor effect.
