Background:
SM-like (LSM) genes a family of RNA-binding proteins, are involved in mRNA regulation and can function as oncogenes by altering mRNA stability. However, their roles in B-cell progression and tumorigenesis remain poorly understood.
Methods:
We analyzed gene expression profiles and overall survival data of 123 patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). The LSM index was developed to assess its potential as a prognostic marker of MCL survival.
Results:
Five of the eight LSM genes were identified as potential prognostic markers for survival in MCL, with particular emphasis on the LSM.index. The expression levels of these LSM genes demonstrated their potential utility as classifiers of MCL. The LSM.index-high group exhibited both poorer survival rates and lower RNA levels than did the overall transcript profile. Notably, LSM1 and LSM8 were overexpressed in the LSM.index-high group, with LSM1 showing 2.5-fold increase (p < 0.001) and LSM8 depicting 1.8-fold increase (p < 0.01) than those in the LSM.index-low group.Furthermore, elevated LSM gene expression was associated with increased cell division and RNA splicing pathway activity.
Conclusions
The LSM.index demonstrates potential as a prognostic marker for survival in patients with MCL. Elevated expression of LSM genes, particularly LSM1 and LSM8, may be linked to poor survival outcomes through their involvement in cell division and RNA splicing pathways. These findings suggest that LSM genes may contribute to the aggressive behavior of MCL and represent potential targets for therapeutic interventions.

Objective:To explore the diagnosis, staging, and treatment of fibro-adipose vascular anomaly(FAVA).Methods:The data of the patients with FAVA admitted to Xi’an International Medical Center Hospital between October 2019 and February 2023 were retrospectively reviewed. Ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were routinely performed. X-ray and CT were performed for patients with unequal length of lower limbs, lesions involving joints, and obvious joint deformities. The treatment plan was made according to the stage: stage Ⅰ (pain stage), open or laparoscopi radical resection of the lesion was performed; stage Ⅱ (contracture stage), radical surgery was performed to remove the lesion, sometimes combined with Achilles tendon lengthening or tenolysis, and rehabilitation training was performed 2 weeks after surgery; stage Ⅲ(deformity stage), comprehensive treatment based on surgical resection was adopted, combined with joint capsule release, Achilles tendon lengthening or dissection, tendon transfer and oral sirolimus (each time 0.08 mg/m 2, twice daily ) before and after the operation. For patients with lesions involving multiple anatomical regions, staged surgery was performed, and in principle, only one anatomical region was operated per time. Patients were followed up for pain, joint activity and recurrence. Results:A total of 42 patients were admitted, including 18 males and 24 females. The onset age was (7.3±5.0) years, but the average age of diagnosis was (12.5±6.0) years. The lower limbs were involved in 38 cases, the upper limbs in 4 cases. There were 17 cases of stage Ⅰ, 17 cases of stage Ⅱ and 8 cases of stage Ⅲ. Only 4 cases had no misdiagnosis experience, and the misdiagnosis rate was 90.5%(38/42). Persistent pain, muscle contractures and joint deformities were the main clinical symptoms of the disease. MRI showed heterogeneous high and low signal intensity on T1-weighted images, and the high signal intensity was the same as that of subcutaneous adipose tissue. T2 fat-suppressed sequences showed stronger heterogeneous hyperintensity. The follow-up time was (14.6±10.8) months. Patients who took sirolimus orally before or after surgery experienced significant relief of pain symptoms. Of the 42 patients, the symptoms of 31 patients were completely relieved after the operation, and 11 patients still had residual pain or joint movement disorder or even deformity after the operation. Sixteen of 17 stage Ⅰ patients were cured, the lesion was further expanded and the pain recurred in 1 case after the operation. Of the 17 stage Ⅱ patients, 15 were cured, and 2 had mild limitation of ankle movement after the operation. Eight stage Ⅲ patients had varying degrees of pain or joint movement disorder after surgery, postoperative oral sirolimus significantly relieved symptoms. All 10 patients with stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ who underwent endoscopic resection were cured. Conclusion:FAVA usually occurred in school-age and adolescent children. Pain, muscle contracture and joint deformity were the characteristic clinical features. Combined with MRI features, the diagnosis can be confirmed. FAVA staging system could guide treatment and predict prognosis. For stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ patients, surgery should be performed as soon as possible and the prognosis was good. For stage Ⅲ patients, surgery-based comprehensive treatment could improve symptoms, but it was difficult to cure them radically. Oral sirolimus was also required after surgery.

Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases 2021;29(7):479-484
Objective :
To explore the technology and efficacy of fabrication of a guide and removal of a fiber post by tetrahedron positioning technology at the chair side.
Methods:
For one patient with acute chronic periapical periodontitis of the left maxillary lateral incisor who needed to have the fiber post removed, the chair side tetrahedral positioning technique was used to make a guide plate to remove the fiber post. Cone beam CT (CBCT) data were imported into the software to design the guide plate for fiber post removal. The guide plate design on CBCT was transferred to a solid model by using tetrahedral positioning technology. The guide plate was made to guide the removal of the fiber post, and then left maxillary lateral incisor root canal was performed. We evaluated the effect of fiber post removal with tetrahedral positioning technology by reviewing the literature.
Results :
The guide plate made by tetrahedral positioning technology can accurately locate the position and direction of fiber posts at a low cost and with high speed. After the fiber post was removed, the root canal could be dredged by using root canal preparation instruments. After root canal preparation, the root canal was filled with warm gutta-percha to complete the root canal treatment. After 3 months, the apical radiograph showed that the transmission shadow of the apical area was reduced. The results of the literature review showed that the fiber post removal with guide plates provides a predictable result and a lower risk of iatrogenic damage. Minimally invasive treatment can be carried out, and chair time can be reduced.
Conclusion
On the basis of CBCT data, using tetrahedral positioning technology to make fiber post removal guides can help reduce the risk of fiber post removal and has the characteristics of speed, low cost and short chair side processing. However, the accuracy comparison between tetrahedral positioning technology and 3D printing guides needs further study.

To compare the incidence of hypoglycemia between day-before bowel preparation and split-dose bowel preparation in colonoscopy patients. The effects of enterald ietary nutrients on the prevention of hypoglycemia and the preparation quality of the intestine during colonoscopy were compared. The patients who underwent colonoscopy were divided into the day-before bowel preparation group, the split-dose bowel preparation group, and the split-dose bowel preparation + enteral nutrient diet group. All patients had their finger blood sugar tested before colonoscopy. The peripheral blood glucose level was measured before operation. After the endoscopic examination, the intestinal cleanliness of the patients was evaluated through the Boston intestinal preparation scale by endoscopists. The incidence of day-before bowel preparation group and split-dose bowel preparation group and enteral nutrient intervention group were 14.38%(23/160), 17.50% (28/160)and 6.45% (4/62), respectively. The proportions of high quality intestinal cleaning were 31.25% (50/160), 35.00% (56/160) and 82.26% (51/62) in the three groups respectively. The incidence of hypoglycemia was higher in split-dose bowel preparation group than that in day-before bowel preparation group. Enteral nutrient intervention can effectively reduce the incidence of hypoglycemia and improve the quality of intestinal preparation, which is a recommended intestinal preparation method.

OBJECTIVE:To optimize the microwave processing technology of yellow wine-processed Corydalis yanhusuo . METHODS:The contents of opioid alkaloid ,berberine hydrochloride and tetrahydropalmatine in C. yanhusuo processed with yellow wine were determined by HPLC. The contents of the extracts were determined by hot dipping method. Based on the single factor tests ,using the appearance of yellow wine-processed C. yanhusuo with microwave processing technology ,the contents of extract, opioid alkaloid ,berberine hydrochloride and tetrahydropalmatine as indexes ,with the amount of yellow wine ,wetting time, microwave power and microwaving time as factors ,the processing technology was optimized with orthogonal test combined with comprehensive weighted scoring method ,and then validated and compared with traditional yellow wine-processed C. yanhusuo . RESULTS:The linear ranges of opioid alkaloid ,berberine hydrochloride and tetrahydropalmatine were 0.100-1.500 μg(R2=0.999 6), 0.012-0.188 μg(R2=0.999 5),0.050-0.750 μg(R2=0.999 8). RSDs of precision ,stability(12 h)and repeatability tests were all less than 2% . The recoveries were 99.15% -100.34%(RSD=0.54% ,n=6),99.52% -100.78%(RSD=0.69% ,n=6), 99.26%-99.79%(RSD=0.28%,n=6). The optimum microwave processing technology included that the amount of yellow wine was 4 g(about 20% of medicinal material amount ),microwave power was 40%,wetting time was 3 hour, processing time was 3 min. The results of three verification tests showed that the contents of extract ,opioid alkaloid ,berberine hydrochloride and tetrahydropalmatine were 15.7%-16.1%,0.061%-0.063%,0.003%-0.004% and 0.061%-0.063%. The comprehensive scores were 97.916,94.730 and 97.217,and RSD were 0.42%,0.38%,0.46%(n=3),respectively. Compared with traditional yellow wine processing technology ,there was no significant difference in the contents of opioid alkaloid and other components ,but no scorched spot and crumbs was found in yellow wine-processed C. yanhusuo with microwave processing technology. CONCLUSIONS:Established method for content determination is simple ,accurate, reliable and reproducible ,and can be used for quantitative analysis of active components in yellow wine-processed C. yanhusuo . Optimized microw ave processing technology is stable and feasible ,and can be used for the processing of yellow wine-processed C. yanhusuo .
