Objective Hippocampal atrophy is a clinically important marker for the diagnosis of many psychiatric disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease‚ so accurate segmentation of the hippocampus is an important scientific issue. With the development of deep learning‚ a large number of advanced automatic segmentation method have been proposed. However‚ 3D hippocampal segmentation is still challenging due to the effects of various noises in MRI and unclear boundaries between various classes of the hippocampus. Therefore‚ the aim of this paper is to propose new method to segment the hippocampal head‚ body‚ and tail more accurately. Methods To overcome these challenges‚ this paper proposed two strategies. One was the spatial and frequency domain features adaptive fusion strategy‚ which reduced the influence of noise on feature extraction by automatically selecting the appropriate frequency combination through fast Fourier transform and convolution. The other was an inter-class boundary region enhancement strategy‚ which allowed the network to focus on learning the boundary regions by weighting the loss function of the boundary regions between each class to achieve the goal of pinpointing the boundaries and regulating the size of the hippocampal head‚ body and tail. Results Experiments performed on a 50-case teenager brain MRI dataset show that our method achieves state-of-the-art hippocampal segmentation. Hippocampal head‚ body and tail had been improved compared to the existing method. Ablation experiments demonstrated the effectiveness of our two proposed strategies‚ and we also validated that the network had a strong generalization ability on a 260-case Task04_Hippocampus dataset. It was shown that the method proposed in this paper could be used in more hippocampal segmentation scenarios. Conclusion The method proposed in this paper can help clinicians to observe hippocampal atrophy more clearly and accomplish more accurate diagnosis and follow-up of the condition.

Human exhaled breath has great application prospects,e.g.,monitoring pharmacokinetics, disease diagnosis, due to its advantages such as non-invasive and high-frequency sampling.Breath samples can be collected from the oral and nasal cavity. However, the oral and nasal environment affect the chemical composition of breath sample. Therefore, the investigation on the chemical composition of mouth-exhaled breath and nose-exhaled breath is crucial for selection of appropriate sampling strategy for individual studies. In this work, secondary electrospray ionization-high resolution mass spectrometry(SESI-HRMS)was applied to analysis of respiratory metabolomics in real time.A quantitative analysis approach was established for 9 kinds of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)e.g.2-butanone,2-pentanone,ethyl acetate, methyl methacrylate, toluene, styrene, mesitylene, isoprene and limonene. The limit of detection was 2.3?240.8 ng/m3.The intra-day(n=6)and inter-day(n=18)relative standard deviations were 0.6%?4.6%and 4.3%?12.2%,respectively.Nine healthy subjects were recruited to investigate the chemical composition of mouth-exhaled and nose-exhaled breath. The results showed the good performance in quantitative analysis of 9 VOCs in breath air.It was found that the number of unique component(m/z)detected in mouth-exhaled breath(167)was 2.2 times greater than that detected in nose-exhaled breath(76),which might result from the complex environment in oral cavity. The signal intensity of commun component(163)was significantly different between mouth-exhaled breath and nose-exhaled breath.Additionally, the elemental composition analysis showed that the proportion of polar compounds detected in nose-exhaled breath was higher than that in mouth-exhaled breath. This study demonstrated that there was significant differences in the chemical composition between mouth-exhaled and nose-exhaled breath, which provided a theoretical basis for selection of exhalation mode.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2024;40(4):263-268
Objective:To analyze the equality of health resource allocation in functional areas of Beijing from 2012 to 2022, so as to provide reference for optimizing the allocation of health resources during the 14th Five-Year Plan and long-term planning. Methods:According to the new urban master plan and the functional positioning of the capital, 16 districts in Beijing were divided into 4 functional regions(capital core area, urban functional expansion area, urban development new area, and ecological conservation area). Based on the analysis of permanent population, the levels of health resources in each region and each administrative district were compared, and the equity of health resources was measured by using the Dagum Gini coefficient. Results:In 2022, the Gini coefficients of medical and health resources in Beijing, including the number of beds, number of health technicians, and number of practicing(assistant) physicians, were 0.71, 0.65, and 0.63, respectively, with no significant change compared to 2012. While the Gini coefficient for equipment priced over 10 000 yuan was 0.75, slightly lower than 0.79 in 2012. The differences in resource allocation mainly came from different regions. The Gini coefficient of the above four indicators in the urban functional expansion area was the lowest, followed by the capital core area, and the Gini coefficient of the ecological conservation area was the highest. The Dagum Gini coefficient of the four indicators of urban development new area showed a decreasing trend year by year. Conclusions:In recent years, there has been no significant change in the overall equality of medical and health resource allocation in Beijing. Only the Gini coefficient of urban development new area has shown a downward trend. It is necessary to further promote the fair and reasonable allocation of medical and health resources among functional areas in Beijing.
