1.Utilizing lactic acid bacteria for the cultivation of health-safe vegetables

Background:
Research on lactic acid bacteria has confirmed how specific strains possess probiotic properties and impart unique sensory characteristics to food products. The use of probiotic lactic acid bacteria in many food products, thus confers various health benefits to humans when they are frequently consumed in adequate amounts.
Aim:
To determine the effect of lactic acid bacteria on the growth of tomatoes.
Materials and Methods:
The lactic acid bacteria were cultured using the Lactobacillus medium from whipping cream
and Dandelion (Taraxacum mongolicum) and identified using the MALDI-TOF MS automated microbial identification
analyzer. A solution was prepared using Lactobacillus delbrueckii isolated from whipping cream and Lactobacillus gasseri isolated from Dandelion (10^7CFU/ml), and sterilized tomato seeds were watered for 10 days with the solution, while
sterilized distilled water was used as a control. The germination rate of the seeds and the root length were measured and
recorded every day.
Results:
The solution of L.delbrueckii bacteria isolated from cream germinated 100% of the seeds, which is 4% higher
than the control seeds, while the solution of L.gasseri bacteria isolated from Dandelion germinated 100%, supporting 4%
higher than the control seeds. Seedlings irrigated with the L.delbrueckii bacterial solution exhibited an average length of
10.3cm, which was 1.3cm longer than the control (P=0.003), indicating a statistically significant difference. Similarly,
those treated with the L.gasseri solution had an average length of 11.5cm, 2.5cm longer than the control (P=0.005), also
demonstrating statistical significance.
Conclusion
The application of the lactic acid bacterial solution significantly enhanced both the germination of tomato
seeds and the growth of the plants compared to the control solution.
2.Case report: Kaposi's sarcoma of the larynx and pharynx

Background:
A rare angioproliferative condition of the larynx, Kaposhi sarcoma
typically affects the skin. Immunosuppressive treatment following organ
transplantation and human immunodeficiency virus infection are the causes.
Every type of Kaposi sarcoma has human herpesvirus-8. Laryngeal kaposi
sarcoma is uncommon in immunocompromised patients; since its initial identification
in 1965, 18 cases have been documented globally. A CO2 laser-assisted
laryngeal microsurgery is performed through the mouth cavity to remove
tumor when kaposi sarcoma of the larynx obstructs the airway. Case report: A
77-year-old woman complained of hoarseness, dry mouth, odynophagia, and
dysphagia three months prior when she arrived at the Mongolian-Japan Hospital.
Two years ago, she acquired hard, sensitive lumps that were palpable
on her right arm, left ankle, and right thigh. At that time, she was diagnosed
with Kaposiform hemangiodermatitis and treated at the National Center for
Dermatology. HIV test results were negative. Immunohistochemistry: CD31
+/-, CD34 /+/. Using flexible nasopharyngeal endoscopy to get the diagnosis:
There was a mass that was about 1.5–2–5 cm in diameter, bluish in color,
smooth and movable, and spongy and vascular on the larynx, on the nasopharynx,
behind the palatine tonsills, and supraglottic. Surgery: Through the
use of Kleinsasser laryngoscopy and a 0-degree endoscope, pathological tissues
were extracted under general anesthesia using a laryngeal microsurgical
instrument and a laparoscopic bipolar coagulator. The tissues were then sent
for histological evaluation, which revealed Kaposi sarcoma, sarcoma grade 1.
Results of treatment
Pain decreased and quality of life increased following
surgery. Upon nasopharyngeal endoscopy, the vocal cord mobility was normal
and the surgical incision was clean. Conclusion: Kaposi sarcoma is an
extremely uncommon illness. A lower quality of life and further issues can be
avoided with an early diagnosis and suitable therapy. It also needs to be continuously
monitored because it is a potentially repeatable disease.
3.The Effect of “Hot Natured 3 Herbs” in a Tumor-Induced Model in C57BL/6 Mice

Background:
Cancer incidence and mortality are steadily increasing both
globally and in Mongolia. As these rates rise, traditional Mongolian medicine
has long utilized herbal formulas for the treatment of gastric and esophageal
cancers and precancerous conditions. One such formulation—Hot Natured
3 Herbs (HN3H)—comprises three species from the Ranunculaceae family:
Atragene sibirica L., Ranunculus repens L., and Pulsatilla bungeana L.. However,
scientific validation of its anti-tumor effects is essential. This study aimed
to investigate the effect of HN3H in a tumor-induced animal model.
Aim:
To identify the biologically active compounds of HN3H and evaluate their
effect in an experimentally induced tumor model in animals.
Materials and Methods:
The three herbs comprising HN3H—Atragene sibirica
L., Ranunculus repens L., and Pulsatilla bungeana L.—were collected
during their flowering stage (May–June) in Khishig-Undur, Bulgan province,
and dried according to official procedures. Extraction was carried out by maceration
in 96% ethanol at a 1:10 ratio. The concentrated extract was suspended
in water (1:1) and successively fractionated with dichloromethane, ethyl
acetate, butanol, chloroform, and n-hexane. The study was approved by the
Research Ethics Committee of the Mongolian National University of Medical
Sciences (Protocol №2020/03-04). A colorectal cancer model was established
by subcutaneous injection of MC-38 cells (Kerafast, USA) into C57BL/6 mice.
Immunohistochemistry was performed using CK20, CDX2, Ki67, and p53 antibodies
at 1:100 and 1:200 dilutions.
Results:
The ethanol extract of HN3H contained 2.98±0.04% total phenolics
and 2.16±0.05% total flavonoids. Body weight and tumor volume were
measured daily with three repetitions. All groups showed a time-dependent
increase in body weight. Mice in groups 1A and 1B received ethanol extract at
50 and 100 mg/kg doses; groups 2A and 2B received dichloromethane extract
at the same doses. The negative control group was administered 0.5 mg/kg
PBS orally, while the positive control group received intraperitoneal injections
of 5-fluorouracil (5FU) at 10 mg/kg twice a week. Tumor growth increased in a
time-dependent manner across groups. Compared to the negative control, tumor
volumes in four treatment groups showed statistically significant reduction
(p˂0.05), while no significant difference was observed when compared to the
positive control (p=0.08). Histological analysis revealed necrosis in all groups,
with variation in extent.
Conclusion
The ethanol extract of HN3H exhibited moderate levels of phenolic
compounds and a high concentration of flavonoids. HN3H extract inhibited
tumor progression and activated lymphocyte-predominant inflammation in
tumor tissues, indicating potential anti-tumor activity (p˂0.05).
4.Total phenolic content, antioxydant activity of thalictrum squarrosum steph.ex willd.

Background:
Since ancient times, humans have used medicinal plants for medicinal purposes, and they have been recognized as beneficial to health. The basis of the treatment of these plants is phytochemical substances and in modern times,
with the development of science and technology, the substances contained in these plants are extracted and medicinal
substances and drugs are produced to treat many diseases. There are more than 800 medicinal plants in Mongolia, and
their chemical structure and properties are studied in detail, biological activity and main features are discovered, and new
medicines are produced. From the Thalictrum squarrosum plant, 25 compounds have been identified, such as triterpenoids
with 17 carbon atoms in the cycloartane type ring, saponins, oleic acid glycosides, phytosterols and their glycosides etc.,
and the structures of 7 new compounds have been determined and the research on phenolic compounds and antioxidant
activity has been limited, which is the basis for this research.
Aim:
Determination of total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of Thalictrum squarrosum.
Materials and Methods:
Total phenolic compounds were determined spectrophotometrically using Folin-Chicolte color
reagent in 1.0 raw material of the Thalictrum squarrosum. Antioxidant activity was determined by DPPH, FRAB and
ABTS in sub-extracts of 4 groups.
Results:
The total phenolic compounds of Thalictrum squarrosum were determined to be 1.9±0.001%. In the study of
biological activity of Thalictrum squarrosum plants, the antioxidant activity of 4 groups of sub-extracts was tested by
DPPH method, and the IC50 of total alkaloids (pH 9-10) was 201.58±0.1 μg/ml, ethyl acetate sub-extract 94.34±0.66
μg/ml, aqueous extract 824.18±0.08 μg/ml, and butanol sub-extract 128.75±0.58 μg/ml. When tested by ABTS method,
the IC50 of total alkaloids (pH 9-10) was 35.83±0.44 μg/ml, ethyl acetate sub-extract 90.45±0.62 μg/ml, aqueous extract
104.19±0.93 μg/ml, dichloromethane sub-extract 156.44±0.48 μg/ml, and butanol sub-extract 170.03±0.61 μg/ml. When
tested for antioxidant activity at 800 μg/ml by the FRAB method, the ethyl acetate sub-extract was 8946.16±14.79 μg/ml,
the dichloromethane sub-extract was 1670.12±39.28 μg/ml, the butanol sub-extract was 4863.97±25.98 μg/ml, and the
total alkaloids (pH 9-10) were 4897.99±58.12 μg/ml.
Conclusion
The ethyl acetate extract of the plant Thalictrum squarrosum has been found to be highly antioxidant active
and total phenolic compound was 1.9±0.001%.
5.Anti-fever effects of Lish-6 in animal model of fever

Background:
Lish-6 has been used for treatment pharyngitis, flu and throat disease. Lish-6 is composed from Eugenia
caryophylla. Thumb, Saussurea lappa C.B. Clark, Schizostachoum chinense. Rendle, Glycyrrhiza uralensis. Fisch, Gentiana algida Pall, Terminalia chebula. Retz. Anti-fever properties of these plants and their bio-active compounds have
extensively been studied.
Aim:
To determine the anti-fever effects of Lish-6.
Marerials and Methods:
Fever was induced by intravenous administration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) at concentration
of 0.5 mg/kg. Lish-6 was given orally at concentration of 92 mg/kg, 1 and 6 hours after the LPS administration. Rectal
temperature wa measured 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 hours after the LPS administration. Paracetamoli was given orally
at concentration of 50 mg/kg. Blood levels of Prostaglandin E2
(PGE2) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) interleukin-1β (IL-1β)
were determined by enzyme linked immune sorbent assay using rat kits. Lung tissue was examined by histopathological
analysis.
Results:
The body temperature of rats in the normal group was 35.0±1.10С, while in the control group, periodic fever was
caused by the effect of lipopolysaccharide (p=0.001). But in the Lish-6 drug group, rectal temperature decreased steadily
(p=0.05). In addition, the IL-1β cytokine in the normal group was 3.24±0.31 ng/L and increased by 60.5% in the control,
indicating the development of the pathological model, while this parameter decreased by 31% in the Lish-6 drug group
(p=0.05). IL-6 cytokine in the normal animals was 21.1±0.2 pg/L and increased by 19.04% in the control, indicating the
development of the pathological model, while this parameter decreased by 8.3% in the Lish-6 drug group (p =0.05). PGE2
in the normal group was 43.2±0.3 ng/L, and it increased by 62.7% in the control group, indicating the development of a
pathological model, while this parameter decreased by 53.3% in the Lish-6 drug group (p=0.05).
Conclusion
Lish-6 traditional drug has the effect of reducing rectal temperature, IL-1β, PGE2 and IL-6 cytokines during
lipopolysaccharide-induced febrile pathology model.
6.Correlation between the individual body constitution in traditional medicine and some biochemical parameters

Background:
From the perspective of traditional medicine, researchers believe that the individual’s innate quality has
a reciprocal effect on the physiological level. The study of body-specific quality differences is important for improving
disease risk prediction, diagnosis, and treatment approaches. Therefore, explaining the features of traditional medicine
with some physiological parameters and establishing the relationship between them is clinically significant and important
for predicting disease risk and developing individualized treatment methods, which is the basis of this research.
Aim:
To establish the correlation between an individual’s innate unique constitution and specific biochemical indicators.
Materials and Methods:
The innate unique constitution of individuals was determined using electronic data, and the
relationships between their characteristics and levels of uric acid, creatinine, urea, and glucose in the blood were analyzed.
Results:
A total of 102 participants were included in the study. Among them, the Shar-Khi constitution was the most prevalent, with 28 cases (27.45%), while the Khi-Badgan constitution was the least common, with 13 cases (12.75%). Individuals with the Khi-Shar constitution exhibited the highest urea level at 4.47 ммоль/л, whereas those with the Badgan-Shar
constitution had the lowest at 4.15 ммоль/л. The uric acid level was highest in individuals with the Shar-Khi constitution
at 316.15 µmol/L and lowest in those with the Badgan-Shar constitution at 261.36 µmol/L (p<0.001).
Furthermore, individuals with the Badgan-Khi constitution had the highest creatinine level at 73.51 µmol/L, while those
with the Badgan-Shar constitution had the lowest at 63.97 µmol/L (p<0.001). The blood glucose level was highest in
individuals with the Khi-Badgan constitution at 4.59 ммоль/л and lowest in those with the Khi-Shar constitution at 4.21
ммоль/л. Kidney function indicators, particularly creatinine, significantly correlated with blood glucose levels (r=0.67,
p<0.01). Higher uric acid and creatinine levels were associated with elevated blood glucose levels. These findings suggest
that variations in urea, uric acid, and creatinine levels among different unique constitutions could be utilized to predict
the risk of kidney disease or diabetes.
Conclusion
Depending on the individual characteristics of traditional medicine, kidney and blood sugar parameters
are different and related to each other, and can assess the state of diabetes and kidney disease. Determining the inherent
characteristics of an individual is considered important for improving the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diabetes
and kidney disease.
7.Results of treating bleeding disorders with Mongolian medicine Gurgem-8

Background:
From the perspective of Mongolian medicine, hemorrhagic disease is a symptom of bleeding from any part
of the body. This disease was compared to the immune thrombocytopenia disease of modern medicine. The treatment of
this disease using two medical methods and the prevention of complications and relapses are issues facing the healthcare
sector. In this regard, we have chosen this topic to clarify and prove the mechanism of action of the Mongolian drug Gurgem-8, which is widely used to treat bleeding disorders.
Aim:
To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of Gurgem-8, in haemostatic treatment.
Materials and Methods:
The study was conducted using a randomized, controlled (active), open label, single centered
clinical trial method. The study was conducted in two phases. First, an acute toxicity study of the Gurgem-8, was conducted in accordance with OECD guideline 423 and evaluated according to GHS classification. A chronic toxicity study
was also conducted on Wistar rats (n=20) given the Gurgem-8, at doses of 500 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg, and 150 mg/kg daily
for 60 days. Second, a clinical study was conducted on a total of 74 patients, who were randomly divided into 2 groups.
The treatment group was given 3 grams of the Gurgem-8, daily, and the comparison group was given 4 capsules of Sheng
Xue Xiao Ban Jiao Nang 3 times a day. The results were determined by laboratory methods. The study was conducted
with the approval of the Research Ethics Committee of Mongolian National University od Medical Sciences (2024.01.19
№2024/3-01).
Results:
In the acute toxicity study, Turmeric-8 was found to be of low toxicity according to the GHS classification. No
mortality was observed in the chronic toxicity test. As a result of the clinical study, there were significant differences in the
blood hemoglobin (χ2=73.923, P<0.001), platelet (χ2=62.465, P<0.001), erythrocyte (χ2=77.113, P<0.001) and leukocyte
(χ2=14.771, P<0.001) cell counts between the Gurgem-8, drug group and the comparison group. It was also determined
that the platelet (χ2=138.3, P<0.001), erythrocyte (χ2=85.405, P<0.001) and leukocyte (χ2=10.961, P=0.027) cell counts
were directly related to the treatment period and the group. When determining the effect on immune cells, there was no
significant difference in the lymphocyte cell content before and after treatment (CD4+: t=0.233, P=0.817; CD8+: t=-0.264, P=0.793; CD4/CD8:Z=-0.119, P=0.905). However, the CD4/CD8 ratio was statistically significantly increased in
each of the Gurgem-8, drug group and the comparison group (P<0.001, P=0.001).
Conclusion
In immune thrombocytopenia diseases, the Gurgem-8, has the effect of reducing hemoglobin levels in the
blood, increasing platelet counts, reducing CD4+ and CD8+ T cell counts, and increasing the CD4/CD8 ratio.

To determine the pain relief and antibacterial effects of Lish-6.
Materials and Methods:
To conduct acute toxicity study using V.B. Prozorovsk method. Average lethal dose, lethal and
maximum nonlethal doses were determined. Acetic acid (1%-0.1 ml) was injected into the rat abdominal cavity to induce
pain. Wistar rat of either sex (n = 6) weighing 18–22g were used. All animals were withdrawn from food 2h before the start
of experiment and were divided in five groups. Group I was injected with normal saline (10ml/kg) as control, Diclodenk
was given orally at concentration of 25 mg/kg. Group II III, IV, V and VI were injected with Lish-6 was given orally at
concentrations of 9.2, 18, 36, 92, 184 mg/kg injection of acetic acid. The number of abdominal constrictions (writhes)
were counted of acetic acid injection for the period of 20 min. To determine the antibacterial effect by dilution method.
Results:
Average lethal dose of Lish-6 was found to be LD50=0.92 (0.6-1.04) g/kg suggesting that it is slightly toxic animals.
Control group animals abdominal constrictions 72.4±8.8. Lish-6 concentrations of 9.2, 18, 36, 92, 184 mg/kg group
animal reduced acitic acid induced pain by 41.9-78.7% suggesting that it is pain relief effect (p<0.001). 4 g of Lish-6
medicine is active against gram-positive bacteria (S.aureus, Streptococcus pneumonia). However, it is inactive against
gram-negative bacteria. In other words, Lish-6 medicine inhibits the growth of methicillin-resistant and non-resistant
S.aureus bacteria at a dose of 500 mg. It was also found to inhibit Streptococcus pneumonia at a dose of 250 mg.
Conclusion
Average lethal dose of Lish-6 was found to be LD50=0.92 (0.6-1.04) g/kg suggesting that it is slightly toxic
animal. Lish-6 reduced acitic acid induced pain by 41.9-78.7% suggesting that it is pain relief effect. Lish-6 traditional
drug has an antibacterial effect.
9.Use of Saccharomyces buolardii probiotics during antibiotic treatment

Probiotics are considered safe for all ages and anyone with a healthy functioning immune system. During
antibiotic treatment, the normal intestinal microflora is destroyed and the normal balance is lost. This article reviews clinical trials of the probiotic Saccharomyces boulardii. The yeast Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745 is a unique, non-bacterial microorganism classified as a probiotic agent. The mechanism of action of probiotics is to attach to intestinal pathogens and their toxins and destroy them; It also destroys the toxic extracellular degradation products of pathogens and regenerates the intestinal mucosa by having an anti-inflammatory effect.

Abstract
Saposhnikovia divaricata, a perennial herb belonging to the family Umbelliferae, is widely distributed in many provinces of Mongolia. The dried root of Saposhnikovia divaricata has been used for the treatment of arthritis and as a painkiller in Mongolian folk medicine. Moreover,
its dried root (Radix Saposhnikoviae) is used as a Chinese herbal medicine for the therapy of immune system, nervous system, and respiratory diseases. According to phytochemical and pharmacological studies, the main ingredients of Saposhnikovia divaricata are chromones, coumarins, acid esters, and polyacetylenes. These compounds indicate anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, analgesic, antiproliferative, and immunoregulatory activities. Cimifugin is an active ketone ingredient from Saposhnikovia divaricate, Rhizoma cimicifugae. Cimifugin has been reported to have bacteriostatic and antiviral effects. Studies have reported that cimifugin inhibits allergic inflammation by reducing the levels of cytokines. The aim of this review is to provide extensive information on the traditional use, ethnopharmacology, phytochemistry, pharmacology mechanism of action, and health products from Saposhnikovia divaricata .
