1.Different Patterns of the Relationship Between Gynecological Malignancy and Obesity Index: A Nationwide Retrospective Cohort Study in Korea

		                        			 Background:
		                        			In Korea, the patterns of prevalence of gynecological cancers have shifted due to rising obesity-related cancer cases. We evaluated the associations of body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) with the risk of gynecological malignancy in Korean women. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			Using National Health Insurance Service cohort data, we analyzed 365,581 participants among the 1,999,980 women aged ≥ 19 years who underwent health check-ups at the baseline year 2009–2010, excluding those who died, those with prior cancer diagnoses, underwent hysterectomy and/or salpingo-oophorectomy before the index date (January 1st, 2011), or missing/outliers BMI and WC values. Follow-up extended to December 31st, 2021, evaluating the incidences of endometrial, ovarian, and cervical cancer. The hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for each gynecological malignancy according to BMI and WC were calculated using Cox proportional hazard regression. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Among the 365,581 participants, 898, 1,268, and 873 cases of endometrial, ovarian, and cervical cancer occurred, respectively. HRs (95% CIs) for endometrial cancer were 1.37 (1.15–1.63), 1.63 (1.38–1.94), and 3.64 (2.81–4.70) for BMIs of 23.0–24.9, 25.0–29.9, and ≥ 30 kg/m2 compared to BMI of 18.5–22.9 kg/m2 (P for trend < 0.001). HRs (95% CIs) for ovarian cancer were 1.16 (1.00–1.33), 1.19 (1.03–1.37), and 1.49 (1.12–1.98) for BMIs of 23.0–24.9, 25.0–29.9, and ≥ 30 kg/m2 compared to BMI of 18.5–22.9 kg/m2 (P for trend = 0.002). No significant association was found between BMI and the risk for cervical cancer (P for trend = 0.266). HRs (95% CIs) for endometrial cancer were 1.35 (1.09–1.66), 1.41 (1.14–1.74), and 1.90 (1.55–2.34) for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quartiles of WCs compared to the 1st quartile (P for trend <0.001). Ovarian cancer tended to increase and cervical cancer tended to decrease as WC increased (P for trend = 0.035 for ovarian cancer, P for trend = 0.034 for cervical cancer). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			In Korean women, the risks of endometrial and ovarian cancers increased significantly from the pre-obese level as BMI and WC increased, while cervical cancer risk tended to increase as WC decreased. Management of obesity should be reinforced for the prevention of obesity-related gynecological cancers, considering the increasing incidence of these cancers among Korean women. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
3.Temporal Radiographic Trajectory and Clinical Outcomes in COVID-19Pneumonia: A Longitudinal Study

		                        			 Background:
		                        			Currently, little is known about the relationship between the temporal radiographic latent trajectories, which are based on the extent of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia and clinical outcomes. This study aimed to elucidate the differences in the temporal trends of critical laboratory biomarkers, utilization of critical care support, and clinical outcomes according to temporal radiographic latent trajectories. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			We enrolled 2,385 patients who were hospitalized with COVID-19 and underwent serial chest radiographs from December 2019 to March 2022. The extent of radiographic pneumonia was quantified as a percentage using a previously developed deep-learning algorithm. A latent class growth model was used to identify the trajectories of the longitudinal changes of COVID-19 pneumonia extents during hospitalization. We investigated the differences in the temporal trends of critical laboratory biomarkers among the temporal radiographic trajectory groups. Cox regression analyses were conducted to investigate differences in the utilization of critical care supports and clinical outcomes among the temporal radiographic trajectory groups. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The mean age of the enrolled patients was 58.0 ± 16.9 years old, with 1,149 (48.2%) being male. Radiographic pneumonia trajectories were classified into three groups: The steady group (n = 1,925, 80.7%) exhibited stable minimal pneumonia, the downhill group (n = 135, 5.7%) exhibited initial worsening followed by improving pneumonia, and the uphill group (n = 325, 13.6%) exhibited progressive deterioration of pneumonia. There were distinct differences in the patterns of temporal blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and C-reactive protein (CRP) levels between the uphill group and the other two groups. Cox regression analyses revealed that the hazard ratios (HRs) for the need for critical care support and the risk of intensive care unit admission were significantly higher in both the downhill and uphill groups compared to the steady group. However, regarding in-hospital mortality, only the uphill group demonstrated a significantly higher risk than the steady group (HR, 8.2; 95% confidence interval, 3.08–21.98). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			Stratified pneumonia trajectories, identified through serial chest radiographs, are linked to different patterns of temporal changes in BUN and CRP levels. These changes can predict the need for critical care support and clinical outcomes in COVID-19 pneumonia.Appropriate therapeutic strategies should be tailored based on these disease trajectories.

5.Factors influencing on future core nursing competency: focusing on King’s Dynamic Interaction System Model in South Korea: a cross-sectional study

		                        			This study aimed to examine the relationship between future core nursing competencies and key variables, identifying factors influencing these competencies among senior nursing students. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			This cross-sectional study included 150 third- and fourth-year nursing students in South Korea. Based on King’s Dynamic Interaction System Model, perceived work value and individual innovative behavior were categorized as personal systems, interpersonal competence as an interpersonal system, and adhocracy culture as a social system. Participants completed self-reported online questionnaires to assess factors influencing future core nursing competencies. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Hierarchical multiple regression analysis identified interpersonal competency (β=0.32, p=.012) and adhocracy culture (β=0.23, p=.010) as significant predictors of future core nursing competency explaining 30.9% of the variance. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			Enhancing future core nursing competency among senior nursing students requires continuous education and counseling programs to strengthen interpersonal competency. Establishing an adhocracy culture involves recognizing creative ideas, fostering open communication for freely expressing ideas, and encouraging innovation.
