Danggui Sinitang is first recorded in the Treatise on Cold Damage written by ZHANG Zhongjing in the Han dynasty. It is composed of Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Cinnamomi Ramulus, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Asari Radix et Rhizoma, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Tetrapanacis Medulla, and Jujubae Fructus and serves as a classic formula for treating the syndrome of blood deficiency and cold reversal. This study systematically reviews the records of Danggui Sinitang in ancient Chinese medicine books of various dynasties and the modern clinical applications to probe into the composition, plant species, processing, dosage, decocting method, and indications of Danggui Sinitang, aiming to provide a reference for the development and clinical application of this classic formula. The review of the records showed that there were a variety of records of Danggui Sinitang with different composition, and the composition of this formula listed in the Treatise on Cold Damage has a significant impact on later generations and has been used by medical practitioners throughout history. Although the dosage of some drugs decreased during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the medical practitioners continued to use the original formula. In terms of processing, although there were slight changes in the processing of Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, and Tetrapanacis Medulla, the original processing method was inherited. In terms of indications, Danggui Sinitang was designed to treat cold reversal due to blood deficiency and dysentery. Furthermore, it was used to treat headache, convulsive disease, infantile convulsion, and private part adduction in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Nowadays, this formula is mostly used to treat diabetes peripheral neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, dysmenorrhea, Raynaud's disease and other diseases. In terms of precautions, ancient physicians believed that Danggui Sinitang should not be taken by pregnant women and should only be used for limb chills caused by blood deficiency and cold coagulation. For limb chills caused by other reasons, this formula should not be used indiscriminately. Modern research has not reported any serious adverse reactions related to this formula. Danggui Sinitang has a definite therapeutic effect. In subsequent research and development, quality control standards of Danggui Sinitang should be established while its safety is ensured, and the related preparations should be developed and applied.

3.Functional near infrared spectroscopy of the impact of childhood traumatic experiences on risky decisions in early adulthood
Chinese Journal of School Health 2024;45(10):1460-1464
Objective:
To investigate the impact of childhood traumatic experiences on individual risktaking decisions in early adulthood using functional nearinfrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), so as to provide the reference for clarifying the brain mechanisms underlying the impact of childhood trauma on individual risky decision.
Methods:
From December 2023 to March 2024, 28 children with childhood trauma experiences (trauma group) and 32 healthy college students (control group) were selected from Jining Medical University by a combination of stratified descent and convenient sampling methods. All subjects participated in the Iowa Game task fNIRS scanning. The brain activation, functional connectivity, graph theory properties (degree centrality, betweenness centrality, and local efficiency), and Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis were performed by using preprocessing fNIRS data.
Results:
Compared with control group, trauma group showed significantly fewer choice times in the inferior deck (Z=-0.88), and showed significantly decreased activation levels in the right frontalpolar (Z=-2.59), as well as showed significant decreased functional connectivity between left dorsolateral prefrontal and in right dorsolateral prefrontal (Z=-3.78), and between left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the right frontal pole (Z=-3.68)(P<0.05). The central index of right inferior frontal gyrus in the trauma group was higher than that in the control group, while the central index of left and right dorsolateral frontal lobes was lower than that in the control group (Z=2.13, -2.53, -2.12, P<0.05). The centrality index of the right inferior frontal gyrus in the trauma group was higher than that in the control group (Z=2.47, P<0.05). The local efficiency indicators of the right inferior frontal gyrus, left and right frontal pole in the trauma group were higher than those in the control group (Z=2.51, 2.17, 2.53, P<0.05). The results of the ROC curve analysis showed that the local efficiency achieved the highest area under the curve (AUC=0.68).
Conclusions
Young adults with childhood trauma experience tend to choose lower loss, and the frontal pole shows a lack of activation in the whole process of risk decision performance. The abnormalities in the brain connectivity and network properties might be the neural basis of excessive defense mechanisms that childhood trauma leads to risky decisions.

6.The role of fluid biomarkers in the diagnosis of Alzheimer′s disease
Chinese Journal of Neurology 2023;56(3):245-250
The rapid advancement of biomarker research in Alzheimer′s disease (AD) has improved the accuracy of AD diagnosis, facilitated its early diagnosis and intervention, and has significant implications for disease-modifying therapy research and evaluation. Since its introduction, the AT(N) system has grown in importance in both the clinical and research aspects of AD. However, the fluid biomarkers in the AT(N) system do not yet adequately reflect the complex pathophysiology of AD. Other fluid biomarkers associated with neuroinflammation, synaptic dysfunction, and vascular dysfunction should be a valuable addition to the AT(N). In recent years, the development and application of peripheral blood biomarkers have greatly enriched the fluid biomarker system for AD and are expected to greatly facilitate early screening and diagnosis of the disease. Here, a brief overview of current research on AT(N) and other pathogenesis-related fluid biomarkers is presented, and the article proposes that fluid biomarkers for AD should be studied from a variety of pathophysiological perspectives in order to improve their role in disease diagnosis. This article also discusses the role and limitations of fluid biomarkers in the diagnosis of AD, as well as the future development and application of fluid biomarkers in AD.

Objective:To screen the HIV standard strains with typical biological characteristics of HIV strains circulating in China through the isolation, culture, genotype and phenotype identification of HIV from the whole blood samples of HIV-infected persons, confirm genetic characteristics, traceability, and in line with the Standard Strains of Pathogenic Microorganism-technical Specifications for Establishment of HIV Strains (T/CPMA 027—2023).Methods:Whole blood samples were collected from 48 HIV infected patients. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated from the samples and co-cultured with PBMCs isolated from healthy persons′ whole blood samples to isolate and culture HIV from infected persons. We determined concentration of p24 antigen and the virus titer in the culture supernatant. The viral RNA was extracted from the successfully isolated strains, and the gag, pol genes and env C2V3 fragments of the viral genome were amplified and sequenced. The genotype, gene recombination and drug resistance sites were determined according to the viral gene sequences. Virus infection and replication were monitored by inoculating the virus culture supernatant into Ghost cells expressing CCR5 or CXCR4 to determine the viral tropism. The formation of syncytium was observed by inoculating the virus culture supernatant into MT-2 cells to determine whether was a syncytium-induced phenotype. Results:Fourteen strains with p24 antigen concentration > 1 ng/ml in culture supernatant were isolated and cultured from 48 fresh EDTA anticoagulated whole blood samples of HIV infected persons. Of the 14 strains, only one strain with a titer≥10 5 TCID 50/ml, 8 strains with titers ≥10 4 TCID 50/ml, and the other 5 strains with titers≥10 3 TCID 50/ml. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the genotypes of the strains were 9 strains of subtype B, 3 strains of CRF01_AE and 2 strains of CRF07_BC recombinant. Genotypic resistance analysis showed that 11 strains contained drug resistance sites. Ghost cells were used to verify the tropism of the strains, and it was found that 8 strains were CCR5 tropism, 6 strains were CXCR4 & CCR5 dual tropism. Only 2 of the 14 strains could induce MT-2 cytopathic effect, which was syncytium-inducing phenotype. Conclusions:Fourteen HIV strains with typical biological and genetic characteristics were isolated to screen the standard HIV strains. Among which, 1 strain was evaluated as a standard HIV strain that meets the Standard Strains of Pathogenic Microorganism-technical Specifications for Establishment of HIV Strains (T/CPMA 027—2023). This study can also provide technical guidance for the screening of the HIV standard strains. Next step is to complete the application and reserve database construction according to the sharing mechanism of the HIV standard strains, to provide resources for the researches of HIV vaccines and drugs.

Taohe Chengqitang is a classical prescription published in The Catalogue of Ancient Classic Recipes (The First Batch). This study systematically summarized traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) ancient books and modern clinical reports on Taohe Chengqitang and investigated its origin, composition, basis, and historical evolution in processing requirements, dosage, preparation and administration, and functions. The findings indicated different opinions on drug basis, preparation of decoction pieces, and drug dosage conversion. Based on sufficient literature review, the actual development needs of classical prescriptions, and the usage habits of modern clinical practice, this study recommended dried mature seeds of Prunus persica or P. davidiana for Persicae Semen, dried twigs of Cinnamomum cassia for Cinnamomi Ramulus, honey-fried Glycyrrhiza uralensis for Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, raw Rheum palmatum, R. tanguticum, or R. offìcinale for Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, and mirabilite for Natrii Sulfas. In terms of drug dosage, the doses directed converted from weights and measures in the Han dynasty were large. According to the common doses in modern clinical practice, conversion was carried out based on 6 g of Cinnamomi Ramulus, 6 g of Natrii Sulfas, 6 g of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, and 12 g of Rhei Radix et Rhizoma. The weight of Persicae Semen should be determined according to the actual measurement. In terms of preparation and administration, the drugs in the pot were decocted with 1 400 mL of water to obtain 500 mL of decoction, which was filtered and slightly boiled in the presence of Natrii Sulfas. About 100 mL of warm decoction was taken before meals, three times a day. It was recorded in the ancient books that Taohe Chengqitang was indicated for the syndromes of heat invading the bladder and accumulating inside in the case of released exterior syndrome in Taiyang. After symptom-based flexible application by doctors, it is currently commonly used in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy, constipation, chronic renal failure, and other diseases.
