1.Practice of value chain management for pre-hospitalized patient communication in a maternal and child health hospital

Optimizing pre-hospitalized services is a powerful measure for hospitals to improve patient experience. In June 2022, a certain maternal and child health hospital had carried out a value chain management for pre-hospitalized patient communication based on patient needs. The Kano model and value chain theory were used to analyze the patient demand attributes, clarify the value-added activities of pre-hospitalized patient communication value chain, and implement value-added activities, including carrying out the GLTC doctor-patient communication model, optimizing the information management system of the admission preparation center, establishing a hospital preparation group management platform, and introducing the " Zhejiang Nursing" platform, to achieve the added value of key value chains in patient communication, improve the quality of pre-hospitalized services, and improve patient experience. After one year of practice, the pre-hospitalized patient management indexes, including the unregistration rate after issuing the hospitalization certificate, the cancellation rate after registration, and the average length of stay had decreased from 9%, 3%, and 4.65 days before practice (June 2021 to May 2022) to 6%, 1%, and 4.13 days after practice (June 2022 to May 2023), respectively. As well as the timely completion rate of pre-hospital inspection and the average satisfaction rate of pre-hospitalized patients had increased from 93% and 94% to 98% and 97%, respectively. The practice had achieved good application effects, so as to provide references for improving the level of pre-hospitalized services and improving the patient experiences in medical institutions in our country.
2.Customization of enzyme molecular machine and cell factory, leading the future of biomanufacturing industry.

The development and application of industrial enzymes have penetrated major industrial fields. China faces a major challenge as a large country in applying enzyme but a small one in producing enzyme. Biocatalysis has become an important technology and strategy of industrial development in the world since chemical catalysis encounters the crises from resource, energy and environment. The application of efficient and clean biocatalysis is one of the important ways to realize the sustainable development of chemical industry and to modernize the fermentation industry. From perspective of the industry-university-research cooperation, we reviewed the current status and the future development of enzyme engineering from the aspects of enzyme resources, customization of enzyme molecular machine and cell factory.
3.Expression of the reporter LacZ driven by human dentin sialophosphoprotein promoter in human dental mesenchymal cells.

The expression of dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP) is the marker for cells differentiated into odontoblasts. This study attempted to analyze the DSPP promoter and build the reporter LacZ expression system driven by this promoter, which allows convenient and quick detection of odontoblast cells. First, we separated the human dental mesenchymal cells in which the expression of DSPP can be effectively induced by dexamethasone. Second, four 5' flanking regions of human DSPP gene (- 4 000-+54, -2 500-+54, -1 447-+54 and -1 027-+54) were analyzed, the results showed that the highest promoter activity lied in the -2 500-+54 region. The promoter activity is reduced when the 5' flanking region was extended from -2 500 to -4 000 bp upstream from the transcription start site; The promoter activity are also decreased when the 5' flanking regions were shorted from -2 500 to -1 447 bp and from -1 447 to -1 027 bp, indicating that potential suppresser elements are lied in the region between -4 000 and -2 500 bp and potential activator elements are lied in the region between -2 500 and -1 027 bp. Then we constructed the lentiviral report vector phDSPP-LacZ containing the -2 500-+ 54 promoter region in front of the LacZ gene. The expression of LacZ was detected using X-Gal staining in both human dental mesenchymal cells and immortalized human dental mesenchymal cells infected with phDSPP-LacZ. The phDSPP-LacZ lentiviral vector may provide a more convenient method to detect the expression of DSPP in human odontogenic differentiation, tooth development and tooth regeneration studies.
