Chinese Journal of School Health 2022;43(11):1630-1633
Objective:
To analyze the effect of a comprehensive intervention on the accuracy of children s body size perception, so as to provide a theoretical basis for child body size perception improvement.
Methods:
The participants were selected from a cluster randomized controlled trial (September 2018 to June 2019). A total of 1 287 children in 24 primary schools (clusters) equally distributed among three regions (Beijing, Changzhi and Urumqi) were selected, which included 12 intervention schools (648 students) and 12 control schools (639 students). The accuracy of body size perception was measured by Ma figural stimuli. A linear mixed model was employed to analyze the effect of the comprehensive intervention on the accuracy of children s body size perception.
Results:
At baseline, the accuracy rate of body size perception among children in the intervention group and the control group was 56.6% and 51.5%, respectively. The underestimation rate was 42.0% and 47.7%, and the overestimation rate was 1.4% and 0.8%. After the intervention, compared with the control group, the inaccuracy rate ( OR=0.50, 95%CI=0.37-0.68, P <0.01) and the underestimation rate in the intervention group decreased ( OR=0.37, 95%CI=0.26-0.54, P <0.01). There was no significant difference in the overestimation rate between the two groups( P =0.51). The results of the stratified analysis showed that the intervention could improve the accuracy of children s body size perception, regardless of their gender, nutritional status, region, or whether or not they were only child( P >0.05).
Conclusion
The inaccuracy rate of children s body size perception, which mainly involved underestimation was high. A comprehensive intervention can effectively reduce body size underestimation and improve the accuracy of children s body size perception.

Objective:To investigate the clinicopathologic characteristics of hepatic echinococcus granulosus (HEG).Methods:Thirteen cases of HEG were collected from Linzhi People′s Hospital between January 2017 to October 2020, and their clinicopathologic features, ultrasound classi?cation, immunophenotype and histochemical data were analyzed, retrospectively and the relevant literature was reviewed. Results:Thirteen patients (5 male patients, 8 female patients) were included in this cohort, and the mean age was 40 years. The most common clinical presentation was mild abdominal distention and pain (9/13). Based on WHO-IWGE ultrasound standardized classi?cation, these cases were classified into 5 types, including type CL (1 case), type CE1 (2 cases), type CE2 (4 cases), type CE3 (3 cases) and type CE4 (3 cases). Gross examination revealed a solitary cyst localized in the liver, varying from 2.7 to 13.5 cm in diameter, and most of them(10/13)were more than 10 cm. Histopathologically, these cysts possessed a thin inner germinal layer and outer adventitial layer, and a central cavity ?lled with a clear"hydatid"?uid. The germinal layer was continuous and generated brood capsules and protoscoleces. The laminated membranes were clearly demonstrated by elastic fiber and Gomori′s stains. Inside the"mother"cyst, there were a varying number of"daughter"vesicles of variable sizes. The inflammatory reaction around the cyst consisted of eosinophils, mononuclear cells immediately next to the cyst layer and sometimes formed granuloma and giant cells resembling the Langhan′s type giant cells. The lymphoid cells were positive for CD20 and CD3. The CD68 immunohistochemistry clearly demonstrated epithelioid cells of granuloma in two cases. Moreover, immunohistochemistry revealed plasma cells were locally positive for CD38, IgG and IgG4, but not meeting the criteria for IgG4 related lesion. Conclusions:Hepatic echinococcus granulosus is a zoonotic parasitic disease prevalent in pastoral areas such as Tibet. It is important to understand its clinical features, ultrasound characteristics and histological morphology.

Objective:To prepare PEG-SH modified GNPs/miR-29 nanoparticles and to investigate the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells induced by PEG-SH modified GNPs/miR-29 nanoparticles.Methods:PEG-SH modified GNPs/miR-29 nanoparticles were developed by oxidation-reduction method and were tested for UV absorption spectrum, particle size distribution and zeta potential of nanoparticles. A total of 15 adult male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were used to establish spinal cord injury model by modified Allen method. The artificial miR-29 and PEG-SH modified GNPs/miR-29 nanoparticles were implanted into the injury site of spinal cord respectively. The stability of miR-29 expression was analyzed by gel electrophoresis. The neural stem cells were isolated and cultured from 10 SPF grade neonatal rats. It was identified by Nestin, GFAP and NSE antibodies. The activity and proliferation of neural stem cells in synthetic miR-29, PEG-SH GNPs and PEG-SH GNPs/miR-29 nanoparticles group was detected by CCK-8 assay. Neural stem cells were cultured with synthetic miR-29, PEG-SH GNPs and PEG-SH GNPs/miR-29 nanoparticles for 1 week. The density, length and number of neuritis were investigated. Results:The solution of PEG-SH modified GNPs showed a brownish red appearance. The spheres were in uniform distribution under transmission electron microscope. The results of UV absorption spectrum showed a single peak wave. The peak value of UV absorption was near 523 nm. The zeta potential increased gradually with the increased content of PEG-SH. The peak value of zeta potential was 22.5±5.2 mV. With the increase of content of PEG, the particle size of PEG-SH modified GNPs rapidly reached peak value at the early stage and then decreased rapidly to a relatively stable level. The synthetic miR-29 and PEG-SH modified GNPs/miR-29 nanoparticles were implanted into the injury site of spinal cord. At 0-6 h, clear band was observed in the synthetic miR-29 group. However, the band was disappeared rapidly at 12-24 h. In PEG-SH GNPs/miR-29 group, clear band were always observed. The OD values of miR-29 group were 0.34±0.17, 0.78±0.31, 1.28±0.68, 1.64±0.38 at 1, 3, 5 and 7 d after inoculation respectively. There was no significant difference in OD values compared with DMEM group. There was no significant difference in OD values among GNPs, PEG-SH GNPs, PEG-SH GNPs/miR-29 and DMEM group. The density (56.38±3.65 μm 2), length (78.25±3.72 μm) and the number [(356±34.52) /1,000×high power field] of neurites in PEG-SH GNPs/miR-29 group were higher than those in miR-29 group, PEG-SH modified GNPs group and saline group. However, there was no significant difference in the density, length and number of neurite between PEG-SH GNPs/miR-29 and serum group. Conclusion:PEG-SH modified GNPs/miR-29 nanoparticless have good biological properties. It can induce the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells with protective effects on miR-29.

PURPOSE: Asthma affects approximately 30 million patients in China; however, tiotropium data for Chinese patients is limited. This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of tiotropium in Chinese patients with moderate symptomatic asthma. METHODS: A post hoc subgroup analysis was conducted on 430 Chinese patients pooled from two 24-week, replicate phase 3 trials (NCT01172808 and NCT01172821), in which they received once-daily tiotropium 2.5 µg (Tio R2.5) or 5 µg (Tio R5) (n = 106 or 109, respectively), twice-daily salmeterol 50 µg (Sal 50) (n = 110), or placebo (n = 105), while maintaining inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). The co-primary endpoints assessed in week 24 were forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) peak0–3h response, trough FEV1 response, and responder rate as assessed using the Asthma Control Questionnaire (ACQ). RESULTS: For both FEV1 peak0–3h responses and trough FEV1 responses, the mean treatment differences were greater for Tio R2.5, Tio R5, and Sal 50 compared with placebo at 0.249 L, 0.234 L, and 0.284 L, and 0.172 L, 0.180 L, and 0.164 L, respectively (P< 0.001). The ACQ responder rate in placebo, Tio R2.5, Tio R5, and Sal 50 was 58.7%, 62.3%, 59.3%, and 69.1%, respectively. Furthermore, 11 (2.6%) of 430 patients had serious adverse events (Tio R5, n = 4; Tio R2.5, n = 1; Sal 50, n = 1; and placebo, n = 5). CONCLUSIONS: Once-daily tiotropium, as add-on to medium-dose ICS, was effective and well tolerated for Chinese patients with moderate symptomatic asthma, consistent with the main analysis.

OBJECTIVEMacrolide susceptibility and drug resistance mechanisms of clinical non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) isolates were preliminarily investigated for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of the infection in China.
METHODSFour macrolides, including clarithromycin (CLAR), azithromycin (AZM), roxithromycin (ROX), and erythromycin (ERY), were used to test the drug susceptibility of 310 clinical NTM isolates from six provinces of China with the broth microdilution method. Two resistance mechanisms, 23S rRNA and erm, were analyzed with nucleotide sequence analysis.
RESULTSVaried effectiveness of macrolides and species-specific resistance patterns were observed. Most Mycobacterium abscessus subsp. massiliense were susceptible and all M. fortuitum were highly resistant to macrolides. All the drugs, except for erythromycin, exhibited excellent activities against slow-growing mycobacteria, and drug resistance rates were below 22.2%. Only four highly resistant strains harbored 2,058/2,059 substitutions on rrl and none of other mutations were related to macrolide resistance. G2191A and T2221C on rrl were specific for the M. abscessus complex (MABC). Seven sites, G2140A, G2210C, C2217G, T2238C, T2322C, T2404C, and A2406G, were specifically carried by M. avium and M. intracellulare. Three sites, A2192G, T2358G, and A2636G, were observed only in M. fortuitum and one site G2152A was specific for M. gordonae. The genes erm(39) and erm(41) were detected in M. fortuitum and M. abscessus and inducible resistance was observed in relevant sequevar.
CONCLUSIONThe susceptibility profile of macrolides against NTM was demonstrated. The well-known macrolide resistance mechanisms, 23S rRNA and erm, failed to account for all resistant NTM isolates, and further studies are warranted to investigate macrolide resistance mechanisms in various NTM species.

In this study,we estimated the application value of detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) specific IgG/IgM antibodies for tuberculosis diagnosis with colloidal gold immunochromatography assay (GICA).We collected 332 effective serum samples and their background information, including 260 patients with tuberculosis and 72 healthy individuals. The means of GICA was used to detect MTB specific IgG/IgM antibodies. Results were compared with the clinical diagnosis and the results of bacteriological tests. The SPSS 22.0 software was used to analyze the results, and when P<0.05 the difference was statistically significant. The sensitivity and specificity of GICA were 41.15% and 91.67%,and the sensitivity of the bacterial positive and negative patients were 51.38% and 33.77%,respectively.The positive rate of IgG/IgM antibodies detection with GICA (41.15%) was much higher than that of bacteria with acid-fast stain of sputum smear (18.84%) and sputum bacteria cultivation (36.15 %) (P < 0.05) respectively. The positive rate of the combination of tuberculosis antibody detection, sputum bacterial culture and sputum smear was 61.54%,higher than the result of single method or combination of two methods. The detection of specific antibodies against MTB in serum with GICA is sensitive, specific, rapid and convenient, which can be used in clinical screening.Meanwhile, there are still certain limitations of this method, and the sensitivity and specificity need to be improved. Therefore, the GICA can be used as an auxiliary diagnosis combined with sputum bacteriology, imaging test and clinical features rather than diagnose tuberculosis alone.
