1.Cancer statistics in China, 2016.

Objective: Data for 2016 from cancer registries were used to estimate cancer incidence and mortality in China in 2016. Methods: According to the quality control process of the National Central Cancer Registry, the data from 683 cancer registries submitted by each province were evaluated, and the data of 487 cancer registries were qualified and included in the final analysis. Age-specific incidence and mortality rates were calculated by area (urban/rural), sex, age and cancer site, combined with national population data to estimate cancer incidence and mortality in China in 2016. Chinese population census in 2000 and Segi's population were used for age-standardized incidence and mortality rates. Results: Total population covered by 487 cancer registries was 381 565 422 (192 628 370 in urban and 188 937 052 in rural areas). The percentages of morphologically verified (MV%) and death certificate-only cases (DCO%) accounted for 68.31% and 1.40%, respectively, and the mortality to incidence ratio was 0.61. It was estimated about 4 064 000 new cases occurred in China in 2016, with the crude incidence rate being 293.91/100 000 (the rates of males and females were 315.52/100 000 and 271.23/100 000), age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population (ASIRC) and by world standard population (ASIRW) were 190.76/100 000 and 186.46/100 000, with the cumulative incidence rate (0-74 years old) being 21.42%. The crude incidence and ASIRC were 314.74/100 000 and 196.38/100 000 in urban areas, whereas in rural areas, they were 265.90/100 000 and 182.21/100 000, respectively. It was estimated about 2 413 500 cancer deaths occurred in China in 2016, the crude mortality rate was 174.55/100 000 (216.16/100 000 in males and 130.88/100 000 in females), the age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population (ASMRC) and by world standard population (ASMRW) were 106.00/100 000 and 105.19/100 000, and the cumulative mortality rate (0-74 years old) was 11.85%. The crude mortality and ASMRC were 180.31/100 000 and 104.44/100 000 in urban areas, whereas in rural areas, they were 166.81/100 000 and 108.01/100 000, respectively. The most common cancer cases include lung, colorectal, stomach, liver and female breast cancers. The top five cancers accounted for about 57.27% of all cancer cases. The most common cancer deaths included lung, liver, stomach, colorectal and esophageal cancers. The top five cancers accounted for about 69.25% of all cancer deaths. Conclusions: The burden of cancer shows a continuous increasing trend in China. Regional and gender differences in cancer burden are obvious. The cancer patterns still show the coexistence of cancer patterns in developed countries and developing countries. The situation of cancer prevention and control is still serious in China.

2.Analysis of SARS-CoV-2 Infection Among Inpatients in a Tertiary Hospital in Guangzhou During the Covid-19 Pandemic

ObjectiveAt the end of November 2022, Guangzhou implemented the latest Covid-19 epidemic prevention policy and began to gradually lift the lockdown. However, under the new epidemic prevention situation, the situation of SARS-CoV-2 infection in hospitalized patients in China is still unclear. Accordingly, this paper aims to study the SARS-CoV-2 infection of hospitalized patients in Guangzhou under the new epidemic prevention and control situation. MethodsThe results of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid tests in our hospital from the end of November 2022 to the beginning of February 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid tests in outpatients and inpatients under the new epidemic prevention situation, and the nosocomial infection of SARS-CoV-2 in inpatients were statistically analyzed. ResultsThis study retrospectively analyzed the SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid test results of 13 959 patients, including 6 966 outpatients and 6 993 inpatients. On November 30, 2022, the SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid test results of outpatients began to be positive, indicating that the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 infection had begun. On December 7, one case of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid test results of hospitalized patients was positive, and nosocomial infections began to break out. On December 15, the positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid test among patients exceeded 40 %, and the epidemic entered its peak period. After the end of December, the test positive rate gradually decreased, but the positive rate of inpatients was always higher than that of outpatients. Compared with December 2022, the positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid test of patients in many departments in January 2023 decreased, but the positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid test of inpatients in the oncology department increased significantly (P < 0.001). Further analysis found that the nosocomial infection rate of SARS-CoV-2 in inpatients was 86.57 % (329/380). However, the nosocomial infection rate in lymphoma patients [58.33 % (14/24)] was significantly lower than that of the hospitalized patients with other disease types (P < 0.001). ConclusionThe positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid testing among patients reached its peak in mid-December 2022. In January 2023, the positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid testing gradually decreased, while the number or positive rate of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid testing positive patients in some departments increased. The nosocomial infection rate among hospitalized patients is as high as 90 %. There are differences in the nosocomial infection rate of SARS-CoV-2 among inpatients with different disease types. In summary, this study provides preliminary data on the epidemiological characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 infection among hospitalized patients in Guangzhou, as well as the protection against infection among hospitalized patients and cross-infection between medical staffs and patients.

Objective Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and tuberculosis (TB) are major public health and social issues worldwide. The long-term follow-up of COVID-19 with pulmonary TB (PTB) survivors after discharge is unclear. This study aimed to comprehensively describe clinical outcomes, including sequela and recurrence at 3, 12, and 24 months after discharge, among COVID-19 with PTB survivors. Methods From January 22, 2020 to May 6, 2022, with a follow-up by August 26, 2022, a prospective, multicenter follow-up study was conducted on COVID-19 with PTB survivors after discharge in 13hospitals from four provinces in China. Clinical outcomes, including sequela, recurrence of COVID-19, and PTB survivors, were collected via telephone and face-to-face interviews at 3, 12, and 24 months after discharge. Results Thirty-two COVID-19 with PTB survivors were included. The median age was 52 (45, 59) years, and 23 (71.9%) were men. Among them, nearly two-thirds (62.5%) of the survivors were moderate, three (9.4%) were severe, and more than half (59.4%) had at least one comorbidity (PTB excluded). The proportion of COVID-19 survivors with at least one sequela symptom decreased from 40.6% at 3 months to 15.8% at 24 months, with anxiety having a higher proportion over a follow-up. Cough and amnesia recovered at the 12-month follow-up, while anxiety, fatigue, and trouble sleeping remained after 24 months. Additionally, one (3.1%) case presented two recurrences of PTB and no re-positive COVID-19 during the follow-up period. Conclusion The proportion of long symptoms in COVID-19 with PTB survivors decreased over time, while nearly one in six still experience persistent symptoms with a higher proportion of anxiety. The recurrence of PTB and the psychological support of COVID-19 with PTB after discharge require more attention.
4.Effect of light at night on liver metabolism in miceby untargeted metabolomics

Objective:
To observe the changes of liver metabolism in mice exposed to artificial light at night.
Methods:
Healthy male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into the light at night group and the control group, with 8 mice in each group. The daily light/dark cycle was 12/12 hours in the control group, and 24/0 hours in the light at night group for 10 consecutive days. The hepatic metabolite profiles of the two groups of mice were detected by high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. The modelling was assessed by combining principal component analysis (PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis ( OPLS-DA ) , The changes of metabolites in the two groups were compared through KEGG database.
Results:
Compared with the control group, 9 different metabolites were detected in the light at night group, among which the down-regulated metabolites were glycine-betaine, glutathione, tyrosine, betaine, lysine, hypoxanthine, histidine and methionine, and the up-regulated ones were mannose-6-phosphate. The weight analysis of the metabolic pathways showed that the major influences on liver of light at night group were phenylalanine-tyrosine-tryptophan metabolism, tyrosine metabolism, fructose and mannose metabolism, cysteine and methionine metabolism and histidine metabolism.
Conclusion
The metabolism of various amino acids and sugars in light at night mice is disturbed,and the key differential metabolites are tyrosine, methionine, histidine and mannose-6-phosphate.
5.Progress in cancer epidemiology research in China in 2019

Cancer is the leading cause of death in China. In recent years,Chinese government has advocated tremendous efforts in advancing research on cancer prevention and control,and has made great advancement. In this review,we briefly summarized the current research progress on cancer epidemiology in China,including the aspects of cancer burden,cancer-related risk factors and its intervention,screening and early detection,implementation plan of cancer prevention and control ( 2019-2022) ,in order to provide technical support and theoretical evidence in implementing effective cancer prevention and control in China in the future.
6.Time-dependent Changes of Blood Pressure in Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test for Females with Hypertension

Objective:To explore the time-dependent changes of blood pressure with the increase of exercise intensity and its clinical significance in Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test for female patients with hypertension. Methods:From August, 2018 to August, 2019, 64 patients (hypertension group) who did not take β-receptor blockers and dihydropyridine calcium antagonists were selected from grade 1 and grade 2 hypertension women excluding myocardial ischemia with Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test. 8.Development of social skills in children with autism spectrum disorder and related influencing factors.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the development of social skills in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related influencing factors.
METHODS:
A total of 889 children with ASD in 10 cities of China were enrolled as subjects. The Autism Social Skills Scale was used to assess their social skills.
RESULTS:
The children with ASD had a lower score of each factor than the theoretical median, with the lowest score for social communication and the highest score for self-regulation. There were significant differences in the total score of social skills and the scores of social cognition and social participation between the children with ASD in different age groups (P<0.05). There were also significant differences in the total score of social skills and the scores of social orientation, social communication, social participation, and self-regulation between the ASD children with different language levels (P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONS
Children with ASD have low social skills, and their social skills are associated with age and language level.

9.Feasibility of DDD Pacemaker Implantation Under EnSite Systerm Guidance With Micro X-ray

Objective: To explore the feasibility of DDD pacemaker implantation under EnSite system guidance with micro X-ray. Methods: DDD pacemaker implantation under EnSite system guidance with micro X-ray was performed in 5 special patients who needed cardiac pacing while should be avoid X-ray exposure. Results: All 5 patients were smoothly finished DDD pacemaker implantation, no wire dislocation or perforation occurred after the operation. The cumulative skin radiation dose was (2.20±0.45) mGy, operative X-ray exposure time was (11.60±2.07) s and the operation time was (58.40±4.04) min. Conclusion: DDD pacemaker implantation under EnSite system guidance with micro X-ray was safe and feasible.
10.Clinical progress on moxibustion in preventing and treating adverse effects of surgery or chemoradiotherapy for breast cancer

Breast cancer has the highest incidence rate among all women's malignant tumors worldwide.Surgery,radiotherapy and chemotherapy are three major treatments,while most patients showed adverse effects or complications during or after the treatment,including lymphedema,gastrointestinal reactions and leukopenia,which cause severe impact on patients' recovery and quality of life.Moxibustion has been used and certified to alleviate adverse effects of surgery or chemoradiotherapy for breast cancer.We have summarized literatures in recent years and suggest more systematic research in the future for the underlying mechanism.
