Objective:To evaluate preliminary application effects of a provincial-county-township-village four-level network framework which aims at promoting oral health of the elderly, and to conduct preliminary evaluations of the application of this model in the prevention and treatment of oral diseases among the elderly in economically accelerated areas. Methods:Based on the population survey in June 2022, the study focuses on the elderly (≥85 years old) veterans who fought in the Korean War and currently resided in Wuyi County, an old revolutionary base area in Zhejiang Province with accelerated economic development. A four-level network medical service model matrix was constructed, spanning from the provincial level to the county, township, and village. Digital oral health records were established, and in-home dental treatment was provided for elderly individuals who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Pre-treatment and 3-months follow-up visits were conducted, and the impact of oral health was recorded using a scale, along with a survey of denture satisfaction. Results:A total of 54 elderly individuals received the geriatric oral healthcare services. After a 3-months follow-up, the mean total score of the oral health impact profile-14 questionnaires was (3.27±3.00), which was significantly lower than the score (32.82±7.15) in pre-treatment ones ( Z=-2.94, P=0.003). Scores in dimensions such as physical pain, functional limitations, psychological discomfort, psychological disorders, and physical disorders were all significantly lower than the pre-treatment scores ( P<0.05). The visual analogue score for denture satisfaction was 48.64±1.21, indicating a satisfaction rate of 100% (11/11). Conclusions:These findings confirm the favorable preliminary application effects of the four-level network framework in improving the prevention and treatment of oral diseases among the elderly in economically accelerated areas.

In medical scientific research, the contradiction between the adequacy of professional talents and the lack of interdisciplinary talents has gradually become a bottleneck for the high-quality development of medical scientific research. In order to effectively promote interdisciplinarity and high-quality cultivation of interdisciplinary talents, the West China Hospital of Sichuan University takes the lead in incorporating medical scientific research knowledge into general education for lower-grade undergraduate students. The general education system of medical scientific research spreads professional medical scientific research knowledge that is "highly concentrated and purified", and "simple" but not "shallow" to lower-grade undergraduate students while cultivating students' interdisciplinary awareness and ability of condensing scientific research problems. The system, based on curriculum design, refers to a series of teaching activities, such as professional teaching material compilation, teaching project research, course video recording, scientific research platform support, medical scientific research practice guarantee, and interdisciplinary evaluation. By adhering to the teaching concept of precise interdisciplinary education oriented by medical research, a paradigm for the reform of medical education and the training mode of interdisciplinary talents has been explored through the advancement of medical knowledge and the breakthrough of disciplinary boundaries.

African swine fever(ASF)is a highly contagious and pathogenic disease affecting both domestic and wild pigs, which is caused by African swine fever virus(ASFV).In European epidem-ics,low-virulence strains of ASFV,which do not have hemadsorbing properties, have been identi-fied.Following the identification of highly virulent genotype Ⅱ ASFV strains in China in 2018,subsequently,low-virulence strains of genotype Ⅱ and genotype Ⅰ emerged.Recombination be-tween genotypes Ⅰ and Ⅱ has also led to the occurrence of high-virulence strains. This indicates a complex and diverse genetic evolution of ASFV during the epidemiological transmission, which po-ses significant challenges for vaccine development and disease surveillance. Here,we provide an o-verview of the novel epidemiological characteristics of ASFV,with a focus on genetic variations and pathogenic differences during the outbreaks of ASF.We also explore how ASFV genetic varia-tions impact immune escape and pathogenicity of the virus, and the challenges they pose for vac-cine development, disease diagnosis, and surveillance. The aim of this review is to enhance our un-derstanding of the genetic evolution and mutation mechanisms of ASFV,providing a theoretical basis for the development of vaccines and research on diagnostic technologies.

Due to the physiological peculiarities of pregnant women, general clinical studies exclude pregnant women. Therefore, there is a lack of evidence of precise medication for pregnant women with diseases worldwide, which poses a significant risk for them to use medication during pregnancy. Whether to include pregnant women as subjects in clinical research has always been a focus of ethical discussion. By providing a broad overview of pregnant women’s participation in clinical research from an ethical perspective, this paper explored the risks and challenges faced by pregnant women’s participation in clinical research, and provided theoretical basis and thinking paths for how to fairly and effectively include pregnant women as subjects and promoting clinical research on pregnant women.

Objective:To study the epidemic status of drinking tea type endemic fluorosis in Qinghai Province. Methods:In 2019, in counties (cities, districts, referred to as counties) that had the habit of drinking brick tea in 8 cities (prefectures) of Qinghai Province, epidemiological investigation of drinking tea type endemic fluorosis was carried out in villages. Ten households were randomly selected from each village, to investigate the demographic data of each household and the drinking situation of brick tea, residents' drinking water and brick tea samples were collected to determine the fluorine content, and calculate the daily per capita tea fluorine intake. At the same time, skeletal fluorosis was examined in all adults over 25 years old, and dental fluorosis was examined in all children aged 8 to 12 years old in survey sites. The content of fluorine in tea and water was detected by ion selective electrode method; the diagnosis of skeletal fluorosis was based on "Diagnostic Criteria for Endemic Skeletal Fluorosis" (WS 192-2008), the diagnosis of dental fluorosis was based on "Diagnosis of Dental Fluorosis" (WS/T 208-2011).Results:The mean (range) of fluorine of the 3 602 water samples was 0.31 (0.20 - 1.00) mg/L. The geometric mean (range) of fluorine of the 31 067 brick tea samples was 646 (40 - 2 295) mg/kg, the fluorine content of the brick tea ≤300 mg/kg accounted for 7.80% (2 422/31 067) of the total samples. The proportion of drinking Fu brick-tea was 89.97% (27 952/31 067); and the daily per capita tea fluorine intake was 1.93 mg, the daily per capita tea fluorine intake in Guoluo, Yushu and Hainan prefectures were higher than the health standard (3.50 mg). The detection rate of skeletal fluorosis in adults was 0.16% (2 357/1 484 907), Yushu Prefecture was the highest [29.23% (592/2 025)], followed by Guoluo Prefecture, which was 8.21% (771/9 393). The detection rate of dental fluorosis in children was 4.79% (8 076/168 623), Yushu Prefecture was the highest [32.61% (1 562/4 790)].Conclusion:Drinking tea type endemic fluorosis is prevalent in Qinghai Province, with obvious regional characteristics, covering a large population. The disease is relatively popular in Yushu Prefecture and Guoluo Prefecture.
