Background Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are one of the major occupational health problems faced by bus drivers and should receive special attention. Objective To explore the associations of weekly working hours and sleep quality with neck and lower back WMSDs among bus drivers, as well as assess the potential mediating role of sleep quality. Methods From June to December 2022, we recruited bus drivers from 5 subsidiaries of the Shenzhen Bus Group by convenient sampling method. Demographic characteristics, lifestyles, and work-related features of the bus drivers were collected through a questionnaire survey. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scale and the Musculoskeletal Disorders Survey Questionnaire were used to assess sleep quality and WMSDs respectively. Logistic regression models were applied to analyze the associations of weekly working hours and sleep quality with WMSDs in neck and lower back. Furthermore, mediation analysis was performed to investigate the role of sleep quality in the associations between weekly work hours and neck and lower back WMSDs. Results A total of

Interleukin-17 (IL-17) and its receptor family members are involved in a variety of pathophysiological processes.Studies have shown that the IL-17 family may be closely related to the occurrence and development of interstitial cystitis/ bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS).This paper explores the relationship between the IL-17 family and IC/BPS, introduces the members and structures of the IL-17 family, their value in inflammatory diseases, and discusses in depth the IL-17 pathways in IC/BPS and the latest research progress.Research has found that the IL-17 family is upregulated in IC/BPS, related to the exacerbation of pathological inflammatory reactions, and responsible for maintaining the chronic inflammatory state of IC/BPS patients. In addition, IL-17 is also associated with neuroinflammation, pain, and other biological effects in IC/BPS.This review aims to deepen the understanding of the mechanisms underlying IC/BPS and to provide references for the development of new therapeutic strategies.

Objective To evaluate the long-term efficacy of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)with bare stents and Fluency covered stents in the treatment of portal hypertension, and to discuss its clinical value. Methods The clinical data of 29 patients with intractable ascites or esophagogastric fundus varices rupture and hemorrhage caused by cirrhotic portal hypertension, who received TIPS with bare stents and covered stents at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University of China(25 patients)and the Lishui Municipal Central Hospital of China(4 patients)between August 2012 and December 2017,were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were regularly followed up to check the survival status. The postoperative cumulative shunt patency rate and cumulative survival rate of the patients were analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Results The technical success rate of TIPS was 100%.The mean portal vein pressure was decreased from preoperative(40.21±3.24)cmH2O to postoperative(24.55±3.55)cmH2O(P<0.05).The patients were followed up for 5.1-10.5 years. The postoperative 1-,3-,5-,7-year primary cumulative patency rates of the shunt were 89.7%,75.9%,75.9% and 52.5%,respectively.The postoperative 5-,7-,9-and 10-year cumulative survival rates were 100%,66.9%,66.9% and 33.4%,respectively.The incidence of hepatic encephalopathy was 13.8%(4/29).Conclusion Using bare stents combined with Fluency covered stents for TIPS is clinically safe and effective in the treatment of portal hypertension. This technique carries higher long-term shunt patency rate and low incidence of hepatic encephalopathy. Therefore,it can be used as a substitute for Viatorr stent when necessary.(J Intervent Radiol,2024,33:295-299)

Background Intraseasonal variation in acute health effects of extreme heat remains insufficiently investigated. Emergency ambulance calls (EACs) may offer timely insights into the population's health during such extreme heat events. Objective To analyze intraseasonal variation in the association between extreme heat and hourly EACs during summer in Dezhou City, Shandong Province, China. Methods We collected data on all-cause hourly EACs in Dezhou City from 2021 to 2022 and assigned hourly temperature and humidity data (with a spatial resolution of 0.0625° × 0.0625°) to call addresses. Summer in this study was defined as from June to September each year, with June to July considered as early summer and August to September as late summer. Extreme heat was defined as the 99th percentile of the temperature range during the summer. We employed a time-stratified case-crossover design using conditional logistic regression integrating distributed-lag nonlinear models to compare the association between extreme heat and the risk of hourly EACs in both early and late summer periods. Objective To investigate the bacterial community diversity in human Demodex mites, so as to provide insights into unraveling the role of human Demodex mites in them caused infectious diseases. Methods From June to July 2023, Demodex mites were collected from the faces of college students in a university in Wuhu City using the adhesive tape method, and the V4 region of 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) gene and the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) gene of nuclear ribosomal DNA were amplified on an Illumina PE250 high-throughput sequencing platform. Sequencing data were spliced according to the overlapping relations and filtered to yield effective sequences, and operational taxonomic units (OTUs) was clustered. The diversity index of obtained OUTs was analyzed, and the structure of the bacterial community was analyzed at various taxonomic levels. Results A total of 57 483 valid sequences were obtained using 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and 159 OUTs were classified according to similarity. Then, OUTs at a 97% similarity were included for taxonomic analyses, and the bacteria in Demodex mites belonged to 14 phyla, 20 classes, 51 orders, 72 families, and 94 genera. Proteobacteria was the dominant phylum, and Vibrio, Bradyrhizobium and Variovorax were dominant genera. A total of 56 362 valid sequences were obtained using ITS gene sequencing, and 147 OTUs were obtained, which belonged to 5 phyla, 17 classes, 34 orders, 68 families, and 93 genera and were annotated to Ascomycota, Basidiomycota and Chytridiomycota, with Ascomycota as the dominant phylum, and Alternaria alternata, Epicoccum, Penicillium, and Sarocladium as dominant genera. Conclusions There is a high diversity in the composition of bacterial communities in human Demodex mites, with multiple types of microorganisms and high species abundance.
