BACKGROUND:Pyroptosis participate in the degradation of the extracellular matrix of chondrocytes, synovial inflammation and pain, and plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of osteoarthritis. In addition, exercise can inhibit the occurrence of pyroptosis to regulate the progression of osteoarthritis, which has become a research hot spot in the prevention and treatment of osteoarthritis. OBJECTIVE:To summarize the regulatory role of pyroptosis in osteoarthritis and the mechanism of exercise-mediated pyroptosis in osteoarthritis. METHODS:PubMed and CNKI databases were searched during 1992 to 2024 with the keywords"pyroptosis, osteoarthritis, chondrocyte pyroptosis, synovial cell pyroptosis, exercise"in English and Chinese,respectively.Finally,71 relevant articles were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative joint disease characterized by the breakdown of cartilage extracellular matrix, synovial inflammation, and subchondral bone remodeling. This condition often leads to organic lesions, bone pain, and functional impairment.(2)Pyroptosis,a distinct programmed cell death mechanism, involves cell lysis and the release of inflammatory cytokines, triggering a robust inflammatory response, and is closely related to the development of osteoarthritis.Pyroptosis can result in the release of numerous inflammatory factors, thereby activate the nuclear factor kappa-B transcription and increase pyroptosis protein production, and in turn exacerbate the occurrence and development of osteoarthritis. Therefore, pyroptosis can be a new direction for the prevention and treatment of osteoarthritis.(3)Exercise has been shown to down-regulate the pyroptosis protein signaling pathway and inhibit the expression of related inflammatory factors, thereby playing a pivotal role in osteoarthritis prevention and treatment.Aerobic and anaerobic exercises can delay the pathological process of osteoarthritis by inhibiting the occurrence of pyroptosis.Moderate-intensity aerobic exercise is most effective in improving osteoarthritis by inhibiting pyroptosis signaling pathways, while anaerobic exercise can have beneficial effects on osteoarthritis by improving muscle mass.

BackgroundGraduate students frequently face life events, many of which may adversely affect their mental well-being. However, the interaction between life events and the development of depression, anxiety, and somatic symptoms remains unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between life events and the development of depressive, anxiety and somatic symptoms in graduate students, thereby informing prevention strategies for these conditions. MethodsA sample of 6 722 newly enrolled graduate students at a comprehensive university in Southwest China from September to November 2018 was selected. The assessment was conducted using the Adolescent Self-rating Life Events Checklist (ASLEC), the 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder scale-7 item (GAD-7), the Patient Health Questionnaire Depression Scale-9 item (PHQ-9), and the Patient Health Questionnaire-15 (PHQ-15). Network analysis was implemented by using the bootnet and qgraph packages in the R software (version 4.2.3), with centrality indices calculated to identify core and bridge symptoms within the network. ResultsThe study encompassed a total of 6 171 graduate students, representing 91.80% of the target population. The prevalence rates of anxiety, depressive, and somatic symptoms among graduate students were 12.59% (777/6 171), 16.63% (1 026/6 171), and 27.66% (1 707/6 171), respectively. Network analysis revealed that 'academic stress' was the core symptom with the highest strength and expected influence (both values=1.207), while 'feeling down, depressed, or hopeless' was the bridge symptom with the highest bridge strength and bridge expected influence (both values=0.454). There was no significant difference in global network strength and edge weight between women and men (P>0.05). ConclusionAcademic stress, emerging as the core symptom, assumes a dominant position within the symptom network and exhibits strong interactions with other negative affective states. There was no gender difference in the network structure.

Objective:To systematically evaluate and integrate the qualitative research of nursing students participating in hospice care practice experience, to provide a basis for the better development of hospice care education. Methods:A computer search was conducted on the China national knowledge infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, VIP database, Wanfang Medical Database, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, and PubMed for qualitative research on nursing students' participation in hospice care practices. The search period was from the establishment of the database to February 2023. The quality of the included literature was evaluated using the qualitative research quality evaluation criteria of the Australian JBI Evidence Based Health Care Center. A aggregative integration method was used for result integration. Results:A total of 16 articles were included, and 46 major research results were extracted and summarized into 9 new categories, forming 4 integrated results: providing hospice care services for patients and their families; emotional experience of nursing dying patients; coping with negative experience and harvesting personal growth; needs and difficulties. Conclusions:Nursing students experience multiple emotional experiences in hospice care practice, and are eager to help and support in various aspects. It is suggested for managers to pay attention to the inner experience and needs of nursing students, improve hospice care education in China, and improve the end-of-life care ability of nursing students.

ObjectiveTo analyze the epidemiological characteristics of newly diagnosed occupational welder's pneumoconiosis (OWP) in the shipbuilding industry in Guangzhou City from 2006 to 2022. Methods Data on newly diagnosed OWP cases in the shipbuilding industry in Guangzhou City from 2006 to 2022 was collected and ananlyzed from the Health Hazard Monitoring Information System subsystem of the Chinese Disease Prevention and Control System. ResultA total of 250 cases of new welder's pneumoconiosis were diagnosed in the shipbuilding industry in Guangzhou City from 2006 to 2022. The number of new cases per year showed an initial increase followed by a rapid decline, reaching a peak in 2013 (65 cases). Most of the cases were male, accounted for 99.2%. There were 220 cases reported the OWP stage, with the stage Ⅰ and stage Ⅱ cases accounted for 93.6% and 6.4%, respectively, but no stage Ⅲ cases were reported. The median (M) age and the 25th and 75th percentiles (P25, P75) at diagnosis was 43.0 (39.0, 47.0) years and the dust exposure years M (P25, P75) was 11.2 (8.1, 14.7) years. The M of age at diagnosis of new OWP cases in 2015-2018 and 2019-2022 were higher than those in 2006-2010 and 2011-2014, respectively (all P<0.05). The M of dust exposure duration of new OWP cases from 2006-2010 and 2019-2022 was higher than that in cases from 2015-2018 and 2011-2014, respectively (all P<0.05). Most of the small shadows of the cases were circular small p shadows and distributed in the bilateral middle and lower lung zones, with a density mostly of 1/1, according to the X-ray chest films. Conclusion The hazard of welding fumes in the shipbuilding industry in Guangzhou City has been controlled, but the prevention and control of OWP among welders remains severe.
