Objective:To understand the epidemiological characteristics and trends of injury in older adults in Jiangsu Province from 2006 to 2022 and provide a scientific basis for developing prevention and control measures. Methods:The data on injury cases aged 60 and older were collected from 12 sentinel hospitals in Jiangsu Province during 2006-2022. The study analyzed the proportion of injury cases among the elderly in the overall population and calculated the annual percent change and average annual percent change (AAPC). A pairwise comparison between groups was performed, and the differences were judged according to the adjusted standardized residuals. Results:From 2006 to 2022, there were 218 426 injury cases among individuals aged 60 and older in Jiangsu Province, which accounted for an increasing proportion of injury cases within the entire population (AAPC=3.17%, P<0.001). The first five causes of elderly injury were falls (42.06%), road traffic injuries (20.20%), animal injuries (11.45%), knife/sharp injuries (9.43%), and blunt injuries (8.13%). From 2006 to 2022, the proportion of falls, animal injuries, and knife/sharp injuries among the elderly aged ≥60 showed an increasing trend, while the proportion of road traffic injuries and blunt injuries decreased (all P<0.001). The incidence of injury was highest in October, with a daily incidence peak between 8:00 and 10:00. Leisure activities (40.34%) were the major activity leading to injury. The injury occurred mainly at home (53.74%), and the injury intention was mainly unintentional (97.41%), all of which showed an increasing trend ( P<0.001). The injuries were mainly bruises (36.00%), and the most common injured positions of the body were low limbs (27.55%), all of which showed a decreasing trend ( P<0.001). About 69.80% of cases were slight, and 79.38% were discharged after treatment, which showed an increasing trend ( P<0.001). Conclusions:The injury data for individuals aged 60 and older in Jiangsu Province exhibited varying trends from 2006 to 2022. There was a noticeable increase in the proportion of elderly injury cases within the overall injury population, as well as an upward trend in falls, animal injuries, and knife/sharp injuries as leading causes of injury. It is imperative to actively develop prevention measures based on the epidemiological characteristics and evolving trends of elderly injuries in Jiangsu Province.

National health standards involve all kinds of technical requirements formulated and numbered in accordance with the procedures and formats stipulated in the standardisation system for the implementation of national health and hygiene laws, regulations and policies, and the protection of human health. The establishment of health standards in China should align with our legal framework, including laws, regulations, departmental rules, and health and hygiene policies. During the development of these standards, a comprehensive approach is advocated, encompassing in-depth investigations, rigorous demonstrations, and extensive stakeholder engagement. However, the process of standard formulation may suffer from insufficient research evidence. The evidence-based concept emphasizes the significance of evidence. Therefore, integrating evidence-based concept into the process of developing health standards can enhance the quality and scientific basis of these standards. This article systematically elucidates the current status and development process of health standards in China, explores the necessity and feasibility of incorporating evidence-based concept into the development of these standards, analyzes the challenges and opportunities, and presents reflections and suggestions.

Objective:To evaluate the predictive values of the Status Epilepticus in Pediatric Patients Severity Score (STEPSS) and END-IT score in the short-term prognosis of children with status epilepticus (SE).Methods:It was a retrospective study involving 103 children with SE who were admitted to the Qingdao Women and Children′s Hospital Affiliated to Qingdao University from January 1, 2012 to January 1, 2022.Glasgow Outcome Scale was used to evaluate the prognosis at discharge, and the children were divided into good prognosis group ( n=78) and poor prognosis group ( n=25). Risk factors for poor prognosis of SE in children were analyzed by Logistic regression.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the prognostic values of STEPSS and END-IT score in children with SE. Results:Compared with those of the good prognosis group, significantly younger age [16 (9, 58) months vs.56 (21, 84) months, Z=-3.068, P=0.002], higher blood lactic acid levels [3.16 (2.43, 4.01) mmol/L vs.1.67 (1.32, 2.10) mmol/L, Z=-6.085, P<0.001], STEPSS scores [3.0(3.0, 4.0) points vs.1.0(1.0, 2.0) points, Z=-6.956, P<0.001], END-IT scores [3.0(1.5, 4.0) points vs.1.0(0, 1.0) points, Z=-5.502, P<0.001], proportion of developmental delay ( χ2=16.756, P<0.001), abnormal brain magnetic resonance imagine examination ( χ2=5.860, P=0.015), use of ventilator and multiple drugs (all P<0.001), and longer duration of anti-SE therapy time( Z=1.488, P=0.024) were detected in the poor prognosis group. Logistic regression analysis indicated that increased blood lactic acid ( OR=7.975, 95% CI: 2.705-23.518), increased drug types ( OR=14.562, 95% CI: 2.035-104.173), STEPSS scores( OR=8.914, 95% CI: 2.824-28.140) and END-IT scores ( OR=2.209, 95% CI: 1.046-4.667) were risk factors for the poor prognosis of SE in children. The area under the curve (AUC) of STEPSS in predicting the poor prognosis of SE in children was 0.939, with the cut-off value, sensitivity, specificity and Youden index of 2.5 points, 96.0%, 85.9% and 0.82, respectively.AUC of END-IT scores in predicting the poor prognosis of SE in children was 0.853, with the cut-off value, sensitivity, specificity and Youden index of 1.5 points, 76.0%, 75.6% and 0.52, respectively.AUC of STEPSS in predicting the poor prognosis of SE in children was significantly higher than that of END-IT scores ( U=36.91, P<0.05). The predictive value of STEPSS combined with END-IT was higher, and the sensitivity and negative predictive value of parallel test were 100.0%, while the specificity and positive predictive value of series test were 94.9% and 81.8%, respectively. Conclusions:STEPSS and END-IT scores may be used as predictors for the poor prognosis of SE in children.Their combination provides a better prediction.

Chinese Medical Journal 2023;136(13):1591-1597
BACKGROUND:
There is little published evidence about the role of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in the progression from prehypertension to hypertension. This study was conducted to investigate the association of NAFLD and its severity with the risk of hypertension developing from prehypertension.
METHODS:
The study cohort comprised 25,433 participants from the Kailuan study with prehypertension at baseline; those with excessive alcohol consumption and other liver diseases were excluded. NAFLD was diagnosed by ultrasonography and stratified as mild, moderate, or severe. Univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazard regression was used to calculate the hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of incident hypertension according to the presence and 3 categories of severity of NAFLD.
RESULTS:
During a median of 12.6 years of follow-up, 10,638 participants progressed to hypertension from prehypertension. After adjusting for multiple risk factors, patients with prehypertension and NAFLD had a 15% higher risk of incident hypertension than those without NAFLD (HR = 1.15, 95% CI 1.10-1.21). Moreover, the severity of NAFLD was associated with the incidence of hypertension, which was higher in patients with more severe NAFLD (HR = 1.15 [95% CI 1.10-1.21] in the mild NAFLD group; HR = 1.15 [95% CI 1.07-1.24] in the moderate NAFLD group; and HR = 1.20 [95% CI 1.03-1.41] in the severe NAFLD group). Subgroup analysis indicated that age and baseline systolic blood pressure may modify this association.
CONCLUSIONS
NAFLD is an independent risk factor for hypertension in patients with prehypertension. The risk of incident hypertension increases with the severity of NAFLD.

Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion 2023;36(2):95-100
Autologous ozonized blood transfusion(AOBT) is a therapy of re-transfusion of 100-200 mL of autologous blood after shaking and agitation with appropriate amount of oxygen-ozone in vitro. The oxidation of blood through the strong oxidation of ozone can enhance the non-specific immune response of the body, regulate the internal environment and promote health. This therapy has been increasingly applied in clinical practice, while no unified standard for the operation process in terms of ozone concentration, treatment frequency and treatment course had been established. This operation process of AOBT is primarily explored in order to standardize the operation process and ensure its safety and efficacy.

Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2023;58(6):1036-1040
Objective :
To explore the general information, clinical features, imaging findings and outcome of pa- tients with drug-induced cholestatic.
Methods :
The clinical data of patients diagnosed as cholestatic drug-induced liver injury in recent 5 years were analyzed retrospectively, and followed up for at least 6 months.
Results :
There were 105 patients with drug-induced cholestatic liver injury in the hospital,the median age was 55 years old (54. 3% male) ,most of them had no specific clinical symptoms ; there were nearly 80 kinds of drugs involved,the top three were traditional Chinese medicine (34. 3% ) ,antineoplastic drugs (22. 9% ) and antibiotics ( 10. 5% ) . Among the 49 patients with magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography ( MRCP) ,7 ( 14. 3% ) had sclerosing cholangitis-like changes ; most of the patients were combined with multiple liver-protecting and enzyme-lowering drugs ; there were 53 cured (50. 5% ) ,41 improved (39. 0% ) ,7 uncured (6. 7% ) ,and 4 died (3. 8% ) among 105 patients,and the total effective rate was 89. 5%.
Conclusion
Drug-induced cholestatic liver injury mainly oc- curs in elderly patients, involving many kinds of drugs, mainly traditional Chinese medicine.Drugs can also cause changes similar to sclerosing cholangitis,so drug-induced liver injury (DILI) should be used as one of the differen- tial diagnosis of cholestasis and abnormal cholangiography.Liver disease and the number of drugs have no effect on the prognosis of the patients, while low Roussel Uclaf causality assessment method (RUCAM) score and hemoglobin count, short hospitalization time and high white blood cell count are poor prognostic factors.

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for the quality control of the leaves of Toricellia angulata . METHODS :HPLC method was adopted. The determination was performed on Agela Promosil C 18 column with 0.2% phosphoric acid solution-acetonitrile(gradient elution )as mobile phase at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelength was set at 210 nm,and column temperature was 35 ℃. The sample size was 10 μL. HPLC fingerprint of 10 batches of the leaves of T. angulata was established and similarity evaluation was conducted by using Similarity Evaluation System of TCM Chromatographic Fingerprint(2004 edition). The chromatographic peak was identified by comparing with the chromatogram of reference substance. Cluster analysis ,PCA and PLS-DA were used to identify chemical patterns ,and the quality differential markers were screened. The contents of hyperoside and isoquercitrin were determined by the same HPLC. RESULTS :The similarities of HPLC fingerprint of 10 batches of the leaves of T. angulata with control fingerprint were 0.923-0.983. A total of 11 common peaks were identified ,and the peaks 4 and 5 were hyperoside and isoquercitrin ,respectively. Results of cluster analysis ,PCA and PLS-DA showed that 10 batches of leaves of T. angulata could be divided into two categories ,Y10 was clustered into one category ,and others were clustered into one category. PLS-DA analysis showed that 6 common peaks (peaks 4,3,10,2,6 and 11) with variable importance projection (VIP)greater than 1 were selected. Average contents of hyperoside and isoquercitrin in 10 batches of the leaves of T. angulata were 0.47-6.97,0.21-1.87 mg/g,respectively. CONCLUSIONS :Established HPLC fingerprint and the method for content determination are stable and reliable ,and can be used for the quality control of the leaves of T. angulata from different areas. Six quality differential markers including hyperoside in the leaves of T. angulata from different areas are qnyz202034) preliminarily screened.
