1.Full mouth rehabilitation of a severely worn dentition using intraoral scanner and the CAD/CAM double scanning technique

With the evolution of the computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, the intraoral scanners are playing an increasingly important role, as they are the first step towards a completely digital workflow. The CAD/CAM double scanning technique has been used to transfer the information from provisional restorations to definitive restorations. In this case, a 67-year-old male with esthetically compromised anterior teeth, generalized severe attrition of teeth, and reduced vertical dimension was treated with full mouth rehabilitation including a re-establishment of the lost vertical dimension of occlusion assisted by the crown lengthening procedure. The provisional restorations were fabricated using an intraoral scanner and the CAD/CAM double scanning technique. After the period of adaption, the definitive monolithic zirconia restorations were delivered. The CAD/CAM double scanning technique successfully transferred the occlusal and morphological characteristics, obtained from the provisional restorations, to the definitive restorations.

2.Full mouth rehabilitation on the patient with deep bite and posterior bite collapse using re-establishment of occlusal vertical dimension

The loss of posterior support and the abnormal jaw relation can cause pathologic findings. If deep bite patients with multiple missing teeth, can not have the stable posterior contact, the mandible moves posteriorly, and consequently the overjet and overbite get worse. And when the mandibular irregular occlusal plane is corrected, it is easier to have the bilateral balanced occlusion with the maxilla. So the treatment goal is to give proper posetrior support and establish appropriate anterior guidance, and ultimately provide improved mastication and esthetics recovery. In this case, a 68 year old man, having deep bite without posterior support was evaluated by the vertical dimesion decision flow-chart. An available prosthetic height, anterior occlusal relation such as overjet, overbite and the esthetic part such as facial height and the cephalometric analysis are the factors to be considered.

3.Full mouth rehabilitation using removable prosthesis of patient with unstable mandible movements: A case report

Patients with collapsed occlusal support and unilateral chewing show parafunctional mandibular movements, which can be complicated in older patients. Gothic arch tracing and split cast technique are used to confirm the deviation between centric relation and anterior habitual bite in patient who has oral dyskinesia and collapsed occlusion. Temporary denture as occlusal stabilization appliance was provided for stable occlusion and reproducible mandibular movement. Definitive denture was fabricated by lingualized occlusion concept.

4.Full mouth rehabilitation utilizing computer guided implant surgery and CAD/CAM.

Computer aided design and manufacturing and implant surgery using a guide template improve restoration-driven implant treatment procedures. This case utilized those digital technologies to make definitive prostheses for a patient. According to the work flow of digital dentistry, cone beam computed tomography established the treatment plan, which was followed to make the guide template for implant placement. The template guided the implants to be installed as planned. The customized abutments and surveyed fixed restorations were digitally designed and made. The metal framework of the removable partial denture was cast from resin pattern using an additive manufacturing technique, and the artificial resin teeth were replaced with the zirconia onlays for occlusal stability. These full mouth rehabilitation procedures provided functionally and aesthetically satisfactory results for the patient.

5.Complete mouth rehabilitation with vertical dimension increase in patient with extremely worn dentition.

Generalized severely worn dentition causes occlusal disharmony, esthetic problems, and temporomandibular joint disorders. In order to solve these problems, it is necessary to make a precise analysis of vertical dimension and treatment plans considering it. This case report demonstrates the complete mouth rehabilitation of a 58-year-old male patient with a lot of worn teeth by increasing vertical dimension. Provisional restorations were cemented and after 4 months of evaluation for patient's compliance, permanent prostheses were fabricated. With these treatments, functionally and esthetically satisfactory results were obtained.

Passive fit of prosthesis is an essential property of implant supported prosthesis for long term success and minimization of complications. And the property is determined mostly by fabrication procedure. There were limitations of extensive implant prosthesis because conventional casting method generate contraction error of long span prosthesis. However, Computer-aided design/Computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology of 3D printing and milling metal framework can overcome those limitations. This case is a full mouth rehabilitation using extensive implant fixed prosthesis. Removable interim prosthesis was made for esthetic, functional evaluation and a guide for implant insertion. After the insertion, implant fixed interim prosthesis was delivered. After additional evaluation and adjustment, final prosthesis was designed with CAD, the fabricated with CAM. Milling technique was used for anterior screw type implant superstructure and 3D printing technique was used for the anterior and posterior implant copings. Fit of the final restoration was favorable. The practitioner and patient were both esthetically and functionally satisfied with the final result.

7.Full mouth rehabilitation of a patient with severe tooth erosion with a digital crown lengthening guide

In the oral cavity, the teeth undergo wear and corrosion throughout their lives. Progressive and constant tooth wear is a natural phenomenon of aging, but wear and corrosion due to specific factors are pathological factors. It can cause pathological damage of the occlusal surface, aesthetic problems, dimensional loss and jaw joint disorders. This case is a 26-year-old female patient with general tooth abrasion and erosion on the entire dentition. Diagnostic wax-up was fabricated based on the information including digital facial analysis, physiological stabilization, and evaluation of anterior crown length. Through the digital analysis, the necessary guides for crown lengthening were prepared and the mastication function and esthetics were evaluated by using temporary crowns. Definitive prosthesis was fabricated with the zirconia restorations. The results were satisfactory when they were observed 3 months of follow-up.

8.Functional impression technique using temporary denture for rehabilitation of severely atrophic maxillary and mandibular ridges

Soft liner is used to functional impression technique when dental stone is immediately poured after taking impression because of viscoelasticity. In this case, a 78-year-old male visited for new dentures. Due to severe resorption of mandibular edentulous ridge, functional impression taking by closed mouth technique was planned. First of all, making maxillary and mandibular provisional dentures was done, and lined by soft liner to rehabilitate pressured maxillary and mandibular edentulous ridge. After this, Functional impression was taken by closed mouth technique using provisional dentures which are transformed to healed maxillary and mandibular edentulous ridge, and final denture were fabricated using maxillary provisional denture as a reference of artificial teeth arrangement. Consequently, restoring a complete edentulous patient with taking functional impression using provisional dentures resulted in recovering satisfying retention and function.

9.Computer-aided design and manufacturing-based full mouth rehabilitation for a patient with excessive attrition and restricted vertical dimension: A case report

This study reported the treatment of a patient with excessive worn dentition and limited maxillo-mandibular space for restoration, utilizing the computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology. After the thorough examination of the patient's occlusal vertical dimension (OVD), full mouth rehabilitation was planned with increase of the OVD. The patient was satisfied with the provisional restorations establishing the increased OVD. The horizontal and vertical data of the patient's jaw relation that the provisional restorations contained were transferred to the definitive metal ceramic fixed prostheses by double scanning and three-dimensional printing. After the fixed restorations were cemented to the abutments, electronic surveying and three-dimensional printing were used to fabricate metal frameworks for the patient's removable partial dentures. The mandibular definitive removable prostheses were delivered to the patient's mouth and the full mouth rehabilitation procedures were completed. The digital technologies used for this case produced fixed and removable restorations satisfactory in masticatory, phonetic and aesthetic functions to both the patient and the dental clinician.

10.Full mouth rehabilitation in a patient with reduced vertical dimension due to numerous tooth loss and excessie worn dentition: A case report

As digital dentistry technology is being developed, it is being used in various ways. This case covers how digital dentistry technology is being applied on the treatment of patients with loss of vertical dimension due to worn dentition and multiple loss of teeth. The loss of vertical dimension was carefully assessed and recovered, and implants were placed with surgical guides, designed considering the final restoration. The movement of the mandibular was measured with the electronic instrument for recording mandibular movement. Wax-up process was done with Naturgemäße Aufwachs-Technik (N.A.T.) and Natural functional reconstruction (N.F.R.). It was scanned, and the provisional restoration was fabricated using Computer-Aided-Design/Computer-Aided-Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, and the adjustment process was done at the clinic to meet with the satisfaction both functionally and esthetically, and then, using double scanning and CAD/CAM technology, it was carried out as a final restoration. As a result, the patient obtained satisfying results, utilizing the benefits of digital dentistry technology and traditional methods.
