1.Mechanism of electroacupuncture on improving corneal inflammation in dia-betic dry eye rats by regulating Toll-like receptor 4-mediated inflammatory signaling pathway

		                        			Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture on corneal Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)-mediated inflammatory signaling pathway in diabetic dry eye rats and to explore the mechanism of electroacupuncture in the treat-ment of diabetic dry eye.Methods A type 2 diabetic rat model was established in 32 healthy male Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(30 mg·kg-1)for 12 weeks after feeding with high-sugar and high-fat di-et for 4 weeks.Twenty-five successfully modeled diabetic dry eye rats were randomly divided into the model group(non-in-tervention),electroacupuncture group(the"Jingming","Cuanzhu","Sizhukong","Taiyang"and"Tongziliao"acupoints were treated with acupuncture,and then"Cuanzhu"and"Tongzilao"acupoints were treated with electroacupuncture,15 min for each time,once a day),sham acupuncture group(blunt-tip needle pricking was performed at the same acupoints as the electroacupuncture group),and fluorometholone group(1 g·L-1fluorometholone eye drops were used in both eyes at 8 o'clock,13 o'clock,and 18 o'clock,1 drop each time),with 6 rats in each group,lasting for 2 weeks.Another 6 healthy male SD rats were selected as a blank group.Random blood glucose,tear film breakup time(BUT),tear secre-tion,corneal fluorescein staining(FL)score,and corneal touch threshold(CTT)of rats in each group were detected be-fore modeling,after modeling,and after the intervention.Hematoxylin and Eosin(HE)staining was performed to observe the corneal morphologic changes in each group.Immunofluorescence histochemical staining was adopted to detect the cor-neal TLR4-positive expression in each group.The TLR4,phosphorylated nuclear factor-kappa P65(P-NF-KB P65),inter-leukin(IL)-1β,and IL-18 expression levels in the cornea were detected by Western blot.Results After modeling,com-pared with the blank group,BUT,tear secretion and CTT decreased and FL increased in all experimental groups,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.01).After the intervention,compared with the model group,FL de-creased,and BUT,tear secretion and CTT increased in the electroacupuncture group,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Corneal HE staining showed that after the intervention,the corneal surface of rats in the model group and sham acupuncture group was not smooth,and the corneal epithelial cells were thickened and disorganized;the corneal surface of rats in the electroacupuncture group and fluorometholone group was smooth,and the corneal epithelial cells were arranged neatly.After the intervention,compared with the blank group,the corneal TLR4 expression of rats in all other groups was elevated,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05);compared with the model group,the corneal TLR4 expression of rats in the electroacupuncture group and fluorometholone group was reduced(both P<0.01).Compared with the blank group,corneal TLR4,P-NF-κBP65,IL-1β and IL-18 protein expressions increased in the model group and sham acupuncture group(all P<0.05);compared with the model group,these expressions decreased in the electroacupuncture group and the fluorometholone group(all P<0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture can im-prove the ocular surface signs and inhibit the expressions of TLR4,P-NF-κB P65,IL-1 β,and IL-18 in the cornea of type 2 diabetic dry eye rats,and its mechanism of action may be related to the regulation of TLR4-mediated inflammatory signaling pathway,which inhibits ocular surface inflammation in diabetic dry eye rats.

		                        			Objective To reveal the potential mechanism of electroacupuncture regulating the neuroinflammatory signaling pathway mediated by triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2(TREM2)in trigeminal ganglion(TG)and caudate nucleus of spinal trigeminal nucleus(SpVc)of rats with type 2 diabetes and dry eyes and alleviating ocular surface sensory abnormalities.Methods Healthy male Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were induced by intraperitoneal injection of 10 g·L-1 streptozotocin to establish a type 2 diabetes dry eye rat model after 4 weeks of high-glucose and high-fat diets.In the 12th week of the experiment,successfully modeled rats were randomly divided into the model group,electroacupunc-ture group,sham-acupuncture group and fluorometholone group,and healthy male SD rats fed with normal diets were se-lected as the blank group.Rats in all groups were intervened for 2 weeks.The corneal fluorescein sodium staining(FL),tear secretion[detected by phenol red thread(PRT)test],tear film break-up time(BUT),and corneal touch threshold(CTT)in each group were measured before,after modeling,and after the intervention.The changes in tissue morphology of TG and SpVc and TREM2 positive expression sites in each group were observed.The messenger ribonucleic acid(mR-NA)expression of TREM2,interleukin-18(IL-18)and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)of TG and Sp Vc in each group were detec-ted.Results After modeling,compared with the blank group,the FL scores of rats significantly increased and PRT,BUT and CTT significantly decreased in other groups(all P<0.01).After the intervention,compared with the model group,the electroacupuncture group and fluorometholone group showed significant reductions in FL scores and significant increases in PRT,BUT and CTT(all P<0.01);there was no statistically significant difference in these indicators in the sham-acupuncture group(all P>0.05).Compared with the electroacupuncture group,the PRT and CTT of rats in the flu-orometholone group and sham-acupuncture group were significantly reduced,the FL score significantly increased and BUT significantly decreased in the sham-acupuncture group(all P<0.01),and there was no statistically significant difference in FL score and BUT of rats in the fluorometholone group(both P>0.05).Compared with the sham-acupuncture group,the fluorometholone group showed a decrease in FL score and an increase in PRT,BUT and CTT in rats,with statistically dif-ferent significances(all P<0.05).The immunofluorescence double-labeling assay showed a positive expression of TREM2 in activated microglia of TG and SpVc in the model group.The reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction of TG and SpVc showed that compared with the blank group,the TREM2 mRNA expression in the TG and SpVc of the model group,electroacupuncture group,fluorometholone group and sham-acupuncture group decreased,the IL-18 and IL-1β mRNA in TG and SpVc of the model group,IL-18 and IL-1β mRNA in TG and IL-1β mRNA in SpVc of the sham-acupuncture group increased(all P<0.05);compared with the model group,the TREM2 mRNA expression increased and IL-18 and IL-1β mR-NA expression decreased in the TG and SpVc of the electroacupuncture group and fluorometholone group(all P<0.05).Compared with the electroacupuncture group,the TREM2 mRNA expression decreased and IL-18,IL-1β mRNA expression increased in TG and SpVc of the sham-acupuncture group(all P<0.05),and no significant difference was found in TREM2,IL-18 and IL-1β mRNA expression in TG and SpVc of the fluorometholone group(all P>0.05).Compared with the sham-acupuncture group,the TREM2 mRNA expression in TG and SpVc increased in the fluorometholone group,while the IL-18 mRNA expression in SpVc decreased(all P<0.05);the IL-1β mRNA in TG and SpVc and the IL-18 mRNA in TG of the fluorometholone group showed no statistically significant difference(all P>0.05).Conclusion Electroacupunc-ture can effectively alleviate the ocular surface sensory abnormalities of rats with type 2 diabetes and dry eyes by regulating the inflammatory signaling pathway mediated by TREM2 in TG and SpVc.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
3.Predictive value of T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate for 1p/19q molecular features in lower-grade gliomas

		                        			Objective To evaluate the predictive value of T2-fluid attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR)signal suppression rate for the short arm of chromosome 1 and long arm of chromosome 19 (1p/19q)molecular features in lower-grade gliomas (LGG),and to construct and verify the predictive model based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)tumor features and T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate.Methods Clincal and imaging data of the patients with pathologically confirmed supratentorial LGG (WHO grade 2~3)in our medical center from 2017 to 2021 were collected and retrospectively analyzed.According to the results of postoperative molecular pathology,they were divided into 1 p/19q-codeleted (1 p/19q-Codel)and 1 p/19q-noncodeleted (1 p/19q-Noncodel)groups.MRI tumor features were blindly assessed by 2 neuroradiologists.Five circular regions of interest were respectively delineated in the tumor area and the normal-appearing white matter in contralateral semioval center using the hot-spot method in order to calculate the T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate.The differences of clinical features,MRI tumor features and T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate were analyzed between the 2 groups.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to screen independent predictors and constructa predictive model and nomogram.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC)curve,calibration curve and Hosmer-Lemeshow test were applied to assess the model performance,and the model was internally validated by bootstrap method.Results A total of 146 supratentorial LGG patients were enrolled,including 68 being assigned into the 1 p/19q-Codel group and 78 into the 1 p/19q-Noncodel group.The T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate was 0.43 (0.28,0.62)in the 1 p/19q-Noncodel group,which was significantly higher than that in the 1 p/19q-Codel group[0.29 (0.24,0.35),P<0.001].Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate>0.374 (P<0.001),cortex infiltration (P=0.001) and calcification (P=0.004) were independent predictors for 1 p/19q status.The AUC value of T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate>0.374 in predicting 1 p/19q-Noncodel was 0.720,the sensitivity was 60.26% and the specificity was 83.82%.DeLong test indicated that T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate>0.374 was more effective than T2-FLAIR mismatch sign in predicting 1 p/19q molecular features (P<0.001).ROC curve analysis suggested that the predictive model established by T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate>0.374 combined with cortex infiltration and calcification had good performance,with an AUC value of 0.808,and the AUC value verified internally by bootstrap method was 0.807.At the same time,the calibration and goodness of fit of the model were good.Conclusion T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate can be used as a quantitative imaging marker to predict 1 p/19q-Noncodel LGG.The predictive model with T2-FLAIR signal suppression rate>0.374 combined with cortex infiltration and calcification can effectively predict 1 p/19q molecular features.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
4.Genetic and Metabolic Characteristics of Lean Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in a Korean Health Examinee Cohort

		                        			 Background/Aims:
		                        			The pathophysiology of lean nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is unclear but has been shown to be associated with more diverse pathogenic mechanisms than that of obese NAFLD. We investigated the characteristics of genetic or metabolic lean NAFLD in a health checkup cohort. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			This retrospective cross-sectional study analyzed single nucleotide polymorphism data for 6,939 health examinees. Lean individuals were categorized according to a body mass index cutoff of 23 kg/m 2 . Single nucleotide polymorphisms were analyzed using genotyping arrays. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The prevalence of lean NAFLD was 21.6% among all participants with NAFLD, and the proportion of lean NAFLD was 18.5% among lean participants. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome and diabetes among lean patients with NAFLD was 12.4% and 10.4%, respectively.Lean NAFLD appeared to be metabolic-associated in approximately 20.1% of patients. The homozygous minor allele (GG) of PNPLA3 (rs738409) and heterozygous minor alleles (CT, TT) of TM6SF2 (rs58542926) were associated with lean NAFLD. However, the prevalence of fatty liver was not associated with the genetic variants MBOAT7 (rs641738), HSD17B13 (rs72613567), MARC1 (rs2642438), or AGXT2 (rs2291702) in lean individuals. Lean NAFLD appeared to be associated with PNPLA3 or TM6SF2 genetic variation in approximately 32.1% of cases. Multivariate risk factor analysis showed that metabolic risk factors, genetic risk variants, and waist circumference were independent risk factors for lean NAFLD. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			In a considerable number of patients, lean NAFLD did not appear to be associated with known genetic or metabolic risk factors. Further studies are required to investigate additional risk factors and gain a more comprehensive understanding of lean NAFLD. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
5.Pilot Study About the Effects of the Soma Experiencing Motion (Soma e-Motion) Program on Interoceptive Awareness and Self-Compassion

		                        			 Objective:
		                        			The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the Soma experiencing motion (Soma e-motion) program on interoceptive awareness and self-compassion among novices. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			A total of 19 adults (clinical group=9, non-clinical group=10) participated in the intervention. Psychological and physical changes after program were qualitatively analyzed using in-depth interviews. The Korean Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (K-MAIA) and the Korean version of the Self-Compassion Scale (K-SCS) were used as quantitative measures. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The non-clinical group showed statistically significant differences in the K-MAIA scores (z=-2.805, p<0.01) and K-SCS scores (z=-2.191, p<0.05); however, the clinical group showed no significant differences (K-MAIA: z=-0.652, p>0.05; K-SCS: z=-0.178, p>0.05). According to the in-depth interviews, the results of the qualitative analysis were categorized into five dimensions (psychological and emotional, physical, cognitive, behavioral, and aspects participants found challenging and needs improvement). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			The Soma e-motion program was feasible for improving interoceptive awareness and self-compassion in the non-clinical group. However, further research is needed to investigate the clinical efficacy of the Soma e-motion program for clinical group.

		                        			The end-of-life care education of medical students is related to the development of hospice care in the future. This paper comprehensively reviewed the setting up situations of end-of-life care education courses at home and abroad, as well as the status quo of courses' implementation, including teaching contents, teaching methods, assessment methods, teaching staff, teaching evaluations and effects. 7.Carbon dioxide laser treatment of facial papilloma in children: case report and literature review

		                        			To investigate the feasibility of using a carbon dioxide(CO2) laser in the treatment of facial papilloma in children and to evaluate its curative effect and prognosis.
		                        		
		                        			Methods :
		                        			A case of pediatric facial papilloma treated with a CO2 laser was reported, and the effects of this disease and CO2 laser treatment were reviewed and analyzed in combination with the literature. 
		                        		
		                        			 Results:
		                        			Under general anesthesia, the lesion tissue of the left lip was excised for pathological biopsy, and the diagnosis was maxillofacial papilloma. The lesions were surgically ablated in stages with a CO2 laser, and erythromycin ointment was applied to the surgical incision after surgery. A total of three rounds of CO2 laser treatment were performed for 3 treatment courses. The child had no complications during or after the operation, the facial appearance was significantly improved, and there was no sign of recurrence during the 6-month follow-up. A literature review showed that CO2 lasers have been widely used in the excision of various surface lesions. In clinical practice, continuous CO2 laser with power of 10-50 W and wavelength of 10.6 μm is used to treat superficial tissue lesions, which can achieve accurate vaporization resection of diseased tissue, less bleeding and a good prognosis.
		                        		
		                        			 Conclusion
		                        			CO2 laser was accurate and minimally invasive for the removal of facial papilloma in children.

		                        			Objective:To explore the effect of humanistic care in patients with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.Methods:Totally 51 patients with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation were recruited from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University,between September 2014 and July 2016,and were randomly divided into two groups.Patients in the intervention group (n =25) received humanistic care,while those in the control group (n =26) received routine nursing.The incidence of adverse psychological status and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results:The incidence rate of adverse psychological state in the intervention group (16%) was significantly lower than that in the control group (53%),while the nursing satisfaction in the interventiongroup (92%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (69%),P <0.05.Conclusion:Application of humanistic care in the patients with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation can significantly improve nursing satisfaction and reduce the incidence of adverse psychological state,which will improve the confidence of the patients and the quality of nursing satisfaction.Consequently,it will promote the relationship between the nurses and patients.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
9.Characterization of a reproducible mouse model of hepatic veno-occlusive disease

		                        			Objective To establish a reproducible mouse model of hepatic veno-occlusive disease (HVOD) after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (aallo-ABMT) and explore its pathogenesis.Methods Balb/c mice were randomly divided into three groups:(1) normal saline (NS) control group; (2) total body irradiation (TBI) group; (3) allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (allo-BMT) group.Liver weight,total bilirubin (TBil),tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-a),interleukin 6 (IL-6) and monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP-1) were detected on the day 0,5,10,15 and 20 after transplantation.Hepatic vein and sinusoid congestion,infiltration of inflanmatory cells,and damage to hepatic cells and vascular endothelial cells were observed under the light microscopy after HE staining.Fibrosis of hepatic sinusoids and venule was observed under the light microscopy after Masson staining.Results Liver weight and TBil levels were elevated at 5th day and reached the peak at 15th day after all-ABMT.The changes of hepatic congestion and edema were obviously observed and there was infiltration of inflammatory cells at 5th and 10th day after alloABMT.At 15th and 20th day,hepatic congestion,edema and necrosis were reduced and liver damage was mainly presented with liver fibrosis and inflammatory infiltration.All mice died within 10 days after TBI,and hepatic congestion and edema were aggravated.As compared with NS control group,TNF-α,IL-6 and MCP-1 concentrations were significantly increased after all-ABMT.Conclusion A reproducible mouse model of hepatic veno-occlusive disease after all-ABMT was successfully established,and the pathogenesis was closely related to endothelial damage caused by total body irradiation,inflammatory cell infiltration and increased concentrations of cytokines.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
10.Effect of Potassium Aminobezoate in Oral Therapy for Peyronie's Disease: Preliminary Study.

		                        			PURPOSE: To evaluate the effect and improvement of potassium aminobenzoate (500 mg Peyron capsule) in oral therapy for Peyronie's disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From February 2011 to September 2011, 31 patients with Peyronie's disease received potassium aminobezoate (500 mg Peyron capsules) and were divided into two groups. Group 1 (N=10) received potassium aminobezoate (500 mg Peyron capsule) 3 g four times daily without previous treatment of Peyronie's disease, while group 2 (N=21) received the same drug with previous treatment of Peyronie's disease (10 mg Tamoxifen +300 mg L-carnitine two times daily). Outcomes were assessed by subjective symptom change, pain relief, resolutions of the plaque, and curvature. RESULTS: After 3 months, there were no significant improvements in clinical outcomes of either group and among all the patients, 23 stopped taking potassium aminobezoate (23/31, 74%). The reasons for ceasing the therapy were gastrointestinal trouble (8/23, 35%), too many doses to take (7/23, 30%), ineffectiveness (6/23, 26%), and high price (2/23, 9%). CONCLUSIONS: Athough the etiology of Peyronie's disease has not been elucidated, potassium aminobenzoate in therapy of Peyronie's disease has been used. The use of this medication has the limitations of gastrointestinal trouble, ineffectiveness, too many doses, and high price. Further evaluations of the effect and appropriate dosing of potassium aminobenzoate are needed.
