Background:
The clinical implications of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein autoantibodies (MOG-Abs) are increasing. Establishing MOG-Ab assays is essential for effectively treating patients with MOG-Abs. We established an in-house cell-based assay (CBA) to detect MOG-Abs to identify correlations with patients’ clinical characteristics.
Methods:
We established the CBA using HEK 293 cells transiently overexpressing fulllength human MOG, tested it against 166 samples from a multicenter registry of central nervous system (CNS) inflammatory disorders, and compared the results with those of the Oxford MOG-Ab-based CBA and a commercial MOG-Ab CBA kit. We recruited additional patients with MOG-Abs and compared the clinical characteristics of MOG-Ab-associated disease (MOGAD) with those of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD).
Results:
Of 166 samples tested, 10 tested positive for MOG-Abs, with optic neuritis (ON) being the most common manifestation (4/15, 26.7%). The in-house and Oxford MOG-Ab CBAs agreed for 164/166 (98.8%) samples (κ = 0.883, P < 0.001); two patients (2/166, 1.2%) were only positive in our in-house CBA, and the CBA scores of the two laboratories correlated well (r = 0.663, P < 0.001). The commercial MOG-Ab CBA kit showed one falsenegative and three false-positive results. The clinical presentation at disease onset differed between MOGAD and NMOSD; ON was the most frequent manifestation in MOGAD, and transverse myelitis was most frequent in NMOSD.
Conclusions
The in-house CBA for MOG-Abs demonstrated reliable results and can potentially be used to evaluate CNS inflammatory disorders. A comprehensive, long-term study with a large patient population would clarify the clinical significance of MOG-Abs.
2.Factors Influencing Job Embeddedness in Emergency Room Nurses: Focus on Positive Psychological Capital, Gratitude, and Anger Expression
Journal of Korean Academy of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing 2024;33(4):383-392
Purpose:
This study aimed to identify the effects of positive psychological capital, gratitude, and anger on job embeddedness among emergency room nurses.
Methods:
A total of 144 participants, nurses with more than 6 months of emergency room work experience, were included. Data collection occurred from July 10 to August 20, 2022. The collected data were subjected to descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Scheffé tests, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 26.0 program.
Results:
There were statistically significant differences in job embeddedness according to the general characteristics of the participants in terms of age, position, total experience, positive psychological capital, and gratitude. Job embeddedness and positive psychological capital showed a statistically significant correlation (r=.48, p<.001), and job embeddedness also demonstrated a statistically significant positive correlation with gratitude (r=.38, p<.001). But there was no correlation with anger expression. Multiple regression analysis indicated that positive psychological capital and gratitude were factors influencing job embeddedness, with the independent variables explaining 26.6% of the variance in job embeddedness.
Conclusion
Based on these results, to increase the job embeddedness of emergency room nurses in the future, it is recommended to offer programs aimed at enhancing levels of positive psychological capital and gratitude.

Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2023;29(3):258-267
Purpose:
This study examined the variations in nursing competence and job satisfaction across different career stages. Additionally, it explored the effect of nursing competence on job satisfaction within each career stages.
Methods:
Participants were 468 nurses working at a university hospital in B city. Data collection was conducted using self-report questionnaires from April 1 to 15, 2020. The data were analyzed descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, and multiple regression analysis employing SPSS 23.0.
Results:
General nursing competence improved significantly after the proficiency stage. Care execution and critical thinking were improved as nurses progressed from the novice to the advanced beginner stage. Additionally, communication showed progress in the competent stage. Furthermore, responsibility and self-development were improved after the proficiency stage.Among the sub-competencies examined, self-development, care execution, and communication significantly influenced the job satisfaction of a nurse’s career. Moreover, self-development was influential at all stages.
Conclusion
This study shows that there was no substantial improvement in nursing competencies as they progressed through various career stages. Self-development was the most crucial sub-competence impacting job satisfaction, with the effects of the sub-competencies varying across career stages. These results will aid in planning clinical continuing education and formulating policies to enhance nurse competency.

Oligodontia is the congenital absence of six or more teeth and comprises the more severe forms of tooth agenesis. Many genes have been implicated in the etiology of tooth agenesis, which is highly variable in its clinical presentation. The purpose of this study was to identify associations between genetic mutations and clinical features of oligodontia patients. An online systematic search of papers published from January 1992 to June 2021 identified 381 oligodontia cases meeting the eligibility criteria of causative gene mutation, phenotype description, and radiographic records. Additionally, ten families with oligodontia were recruited and their genetic etiologies were determined by whole-exome sequence analyses. We identified a novel mutation in WNT10A (c.99_105dup) and eight previously reported mutations in WNT10A (c.433 G > A; c.682 T > A; c.318 C > G; c.511.C > T; c.321 C > A), EDAR (c.581 C > T), and LRP6 (c.1003 C > T, c.2747 G > T). Collectively, 20 different causative genes were implicated among those 393 cases with oligodontia. For each causative gene, the mean number of missing teeth per case and the frequency of teeth missing at each position were calculated. Genotype-phenotype correlation analysis indicated that molars agenesis is more likely linked to PAX9 mutations, mandibular first premolar agenesis is least associated with PAX9 mutations. Mandibular incisors and maxillary lateral incisor agenesis are most closely linked to EDA mutations.

The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 2020;58(4):378-384
For patients with unstable mandibular movements and centric relation of the mandible due to long-term use of ill-fitting dentures, the successful fabrication of new dentures is challenging. Before fabrication new dentures, registration of centric relation is the critical point in such cases. In this case, treatment dentures with a flat occlusal table were used to stabilize mandibular movements and to register centric relation. In order to reflect the patient's jaw relation and vertical dimension obtained through the treatment dentures to the final denture, the treatment dentures were digitally duplicated, and impressions and jaw relations were obtained using the duplicated therapeutic dentures. The clinical results were satisfactory on the aspect of aesthetic and masticatory functioned.
