1.Application of Gas Chromatography Ion Mobility Spectrometry Technology Combined with Chemometric Methods in Identification of Foeniculi Fructus from Haiyuan Region

		                        			ObjectiveTo establish a geographical origin identification model for Foeniculi Fructus from Haiyuan, providing a new technical reference for the protection of Haiyuan's geo-authentic medicinal materials and its designation as a national geographical indication agricultural product. MethodsSamples of Foeniculi Fructus were collected from eight producing areas, including Minqin (Gansu), Bozhou (Anhui), Qingdao (Shandong), Dezhou (Shandong), Urumqi (Xinjiang), Nujiang (Yunnan), Gutuo (Inner Mongolia), and Haiyuan (Ningxia). Gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) was used to detect the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in samples from these geographic origins. VOCs were qualitatively analyzed through dual matching with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) mass spectral database and the IMS drift time database. Using the Reporter module and Gallery Plot visualization tools within the LAV analytical platform, VOC fingerprint profiles characterizing geographic origins were constructed. A non-targeted analytical strategy was adopted, and 97 VOCs detected via GC-IMS were subjected to principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) based on their differential distribution patterns to construct an origin identification model for Foeniculi Fructus from Haiyuan region. Key discriminative markers were screened using variable importance in projection (VIP) values greater than 1. ResultsA total of 97 VOCs were identified, including alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, esters, organic acids, terpenoids, ethers, alkenes, and benzenes. The PLS-DA model, based on VOCs data obtained by GC-IMS, effectively distinguished Foeniculi Fructus in Haiyuan region from those of other origins. During cross-validation, the model achieved a prediction parameter (Q2) of 0.976 and a goodness-of-fit parameter (R2) of 0.936, with no overfitting observed in permutation testing. Twelve key flavor markers with VIP > 1 were identified as characteristic indicators of Haiyuan origin. ConclusionA stable and highly predictive origin identification model for Foeniculi Fructus from Haiyuan was successfully established using GC-IMS technology, PLS-DA, and VIP-based marker screening. This model provides a novel technical strategy for accurately distinguishing Foeniculi Fructus in Haiyuan region from other regional varieties and offers new technical support for its protection as a geo-authentic medicinal material and a nationally designated geographical indication agricultural product in China.

3.Analysis of Ancient Literature and Modern Clinical Application of Tuoli Xiaodusan

		                        			Tuoli Xiaodusan is the 65th formula in the Catalogue of Ancient Famous Classical Formulas(First Batch). In this study, the bibliometric method was used to summarize and verify the ancient books about Tuoli Xiaodusan in terms of its historical origin, composition and dosage of the formula, indications, decoction and administration method, and processing, etc. According to the research, there is no definite date of the formation of Tuoli Xiaodusan, the earliest can be traced back to Lizhai Waike Fahui in Ming dynasty, which has been widely circulated, with many versions of prescription composition, and the modern influential version is from Waike Zhengzong in Ming dynasty, which is made up of 12 Chinese herbs including Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma(3.73 g), Chuanxiong Rhizoma(3.73 g), Paeoniae Radix Alba(3.73 g), Astragali Radix(3.73 g), Angelicae Sinensis Radix(3.73 g), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma(3.73 g), Poria(3.73 g), Lonicerae Japonicae Flos(3.73 g), Angelicae Dahuricae Radix(1.87 g), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma(1.87 g), Gleditsiae Spina(1.87 g), Platycodonis Radix(1.87 g). The herb origins almost follow the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia, except that Angelica dahurica var. formosana is only recommended as the origin of Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, and Glycryyhiza uralensis is only recommended as the origin of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. All the herbs are recommended to be used in the raw products. As for the preparation method, it is recommended to decoct with water, add 400 mL of water, boil until 160 mL, and take 2-3 times a day. The formula has the functions of nourishing Qi and nourishing blood, detoxifying and draining pus, and was mainly used to treat ulcerative diseases with the syndrome of syndrome of healthy Qi deficiency and pathogenic factors excess in ancient times, and in modern times, it is used for a wide range of treatment, involving the skin and soft tissues, bones, digestion and many other systemic diseases, and is also mainly used for syndrome of healthy Qi deficiency and pathogenic factors excess. 		                        			In order to facilitate the accurate comprehension and correct implemention of the national occupational health standard Health standard for operators of nuclear power plants (GBZ/T 164-2022), this article presents an in-depth elucidation encompassing the significance of the standard promulgation, the background of its revision, the current status of the relevant domestic and international standards, the basis for revision of the principal technical inclusion and the application scope of the standard. 		                        			Grooming,as an evolutionarily conserved repetitive behavior,is common in various animals,including humans,and serves essential functions including,but not limited to,hygiene maintenance,thermoregulation,de-arousal,stress reduction,and social behaviors.In rodents,grooming involves a patterned and sequenced structure,known as the syntactic chain with four phases that comprise repeated stereotyped movements happening in a cephalocaudal progression style,beginning from the nose to the face,to the head,and finally ending with body licking.The context-dependent occurrence of grooming behavior indicates its adaptive significance.This review briefly summarizes the neural substrates responsible for rodent grooming behavior and explores its relevance in rodent models of neuropsychiatric disorders and neurodegenerative diseases with aberrant grooming phenotypes.We further emphasize the utility of rodent grooming as a reliable measure of repetitive behavior in neuropsychiatric models,holding promise for translational psychiatry.Herein,we mainly focus on rodent self-grooming.Allogrooming(grooming being applied on one animal by its conspecifics via licking or carefully nibbling)and heterogrooming(a form of grooming behavior directing towards another animal,which occurs in other contexts,such as maternal,sexual,aggressive,or social behaviors)are not covered due to space constraints.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
6.Integrin β5 subunit regulates hyperglycemia-induced vascular endothelial cell apoptosis through FoxO1-mediated macroautophagy

		                        			Background::Hyperglycemia frequently induces apoptosis in endothelial cells and ultimately contributes to microvascular dysfunction in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Previous research reported that the expression of integrins as well as their ligands was elevated in the diseased vessels of DM patients. However, the association between integrins and hyperglycemia-induced cell death is still unclear. This research was designed to investigate the role played by integrin subunit β5 (ITGB5) in hyperglycemia-induced endothelial cell apoptosis.Methods::We used leptin receptor knockout (Lepr-KO) ( db/ db) mice as spontaneous diabetes animal model. Selective deletion of ITGB5 in endothelial cell was achieved by injecting vascular targeted adeno-associated virus via tail vein. Besides, we also applied small interfering RNA in vitro to study the mechanism of ITGB5 in regulating high glucose-induced cell apoptosis. Results::ITGB5 and its ligand, fibronectin, were both upregulated after exposure to high glucose in vivo and in vitro. ITGB5 knockdown alleviated hyperglycemia-induced vascular endothelial cell apoptosis and microvascular rarefaction in vivo. In vitro analysis revealed that knockdown of either ITGB5 or fibronectin ameliorated high glucose-induced apoptosis in human umbilical vascular endothelial cells (HUVECs). In addition, knockdown of ITGB5 inhibited fibronectin-induced HUVEC apoptosis, which indicated that the fibronectin-ITGB5 interaction participated in high glucose-induced endothelial cell apoptosis. By using RNA-sequencing technology and bioinformatic analysis, we identified Forkhead Box Protein O1 (FoxO1) as an important downstream target regulated by ITGB5. Moreover, we demonstrated that the excessive macroautophagy induced by high glucose can contribute to HUVEC apoptosis, which was regulated by the ITGB5-FoxO1 axis. Conclusion::The study revealed that high glucose-induced endothelial cell apoptosis was positively regulated by ITGB5, which suggested that ITGB5 could potentially be used to predict and treat DM-related vascular complications.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
7.Pollution characteristics and health risk assessment of metals in farmland soil around the largest realgar mining area in Asia

		                        			Background Heavy metal emissions from mining and smelting areas are a global problem, and health risks associated with heavy metal contamination of soils are of great concern. The long-term mining of the largest realgar mine in Asia has caused severe arsenic and other metal pollution to the surrounding rivers and soils. Objective To understand the levels of metal contamination and health risks in agricultural soils of villages surrounding the largest realgar mine in Asia, and to lay a good foundation for further necessary pollution control actions and decisions. Methods A field survey was conducted to collect soil samples according to the Technical rules for monitoring of environmental quality of farmland soil (NY/T 395-2012), and then inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was used to determine the contents of 28 heavy metals [cadmium (Cd), arsenic (As), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), beryllium (Be), selenium (Se), cobalt (Co), antimony (Sb), molybdenum (Mo), vanadium (V), barium (Ba), thallium (Tl), boron (B) , bismuth (Bi), lithium (Li), manganese (Mn), strontium (Sr), calcium (Ca), rubidium (Rb), iron (Fe), magnesium (Mg), aluminum (Al), kalium (K), and titanium (Ti)]. Geoaccumulation index, single factor pollution index, and Nemerow comprehensive index were used to evaluate the degree and characteristics of single metal pollution and combined pollution in soil, respectively. A health risk assessment model was used to evaluate the risks of metals in soil to human health. Results The results of geoaccumulation index calculation revealed that 22 heavy metals were enriched in the soil, and the indexes of target heavy metals from high to low were Cd > Se > Pb >Hg > As > Co> Ni > Cu > Zn > Bi > Sb > Mo > Be> Cr > Ba >V > Li > Sr> Mn> Rb > Ca> Tl . The single factor pollution indexes of 17 heavy metals from high to low were Be > Cd > B > Mo > V > As > Ni > Cu > Pb > Zn > Co > Se > Tl > Ba > Cr > Hg > Sb. The Nemerow comprehensive index indicated all sampling points were graded as severe pollution. The mean of total non-carcinogenic health risk values and the mean of carcinogenic health risk values for the target heavy metals in the area were higher than the threshold (1) and the maximum acceptable risk (1.0×10–4), respectively. The total carcinogenic health risks for adults and children reached 1.1×10–3 and 1.67×10–3, respectively. The mean non-carcinogenic health risk values of As, Co, Cr, and Pb pollution were greater than 1, and the maximum non-cancer risk value of Sb for children was greater than 1. The mean carcinogenic risk values of Ni, As, and Cu exceeded 1.0×10–4 for both adults and children, and the maximum carcinogenic risk values of Be and Cr for children were more than 1.0×10–4. Conclusion The farmland soil around the hugest realgar mine in Asia is contaminated by multiple metals. The study soil is seriously polluted by Cd, Se, Pb, As, Hg, Be, B, Mo, V, Ni, Cu, Pb, Zn, Co, and Ba. The pollution of Ni, As, Cu, Cr, and Be is considered as carcinogenic hazards to health, while the pollution of As, Co, Cr, Pb, and Sb poses non-carcinogenic health risks. Our study findings show that the soil is polluted by Co and Group 1 carcinogen Be, which could cause health risks; although Cr and Sb have not reached severe pollution levels, there are certain health risks and also need attention.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
8.Effects of 12-week Liu Zi Jue Qigong-based breathing training on the curvature and range of motion of the thoracic and lumbar spines

		                        			Objective: To evaluate the effects of Liu Zi Jue Qigong (LQG)-based breathing training on the curvature and range of motion (ROM) of the thoracic and lumbar spines in different positions. Methods: Forty-seven college students were selected as subjects and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group. In the observation group, 27 subjects received regular LQG-based breathing training for 12 weeks, while 20 subjects in the control group did not receive any intervention. The spine measuring instrument Spinal Mouse was adopted to detect the curvature and ROM of the thoracic and lumbar spines. Results: In the observation group, the changes in the curvatures of thoracic spine in the upright and forward-bending positions showed statistical significance after LQG exercise (P<0.05), while there was no notable difference in the control group. The comparison of ROM of the thoracic spine from the upright position to the forward-bending and load-bearing positions showed statistically significant difference in the observation group (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference in the control group. There was no significant difference in the lumbar curvature and ROM in the two groups after LQG exercise. 10.Study on HPTLC identification of one-plate multi-drug and HPLC content determination method for Jizhi syrup

		                        			OBJECTIVE To optimize the existing t hin layer chromatography (TLC)identification and content determination methods of Jizhi syrup. METHODS High performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC)was used to identify five medicinal materials in Jizhi syrup ,such as Ilex chinensis ,Houttuynia cordata ,Peucedanum praeruptorum ,Citrus aurantium ,Glycyrrhiza uralensis. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)was used to determine the contents of procatechuic acid ,ephedrine hydrochloride and naringin in Jizhi syrup. RESULTS HPTLC results showed that the identification spots of pedunculoside , praeruptorin A ,naringin,and liquiritin were clearly displayed ,and the retention factors were in the range of 0.2 to 0.8. After validation,the method had been proved to be strongly specific ,robust and repeatable. HPLC results showed that the linear ranges of protocatechuic acid ,ephedrine hydrochloride and naringin were 4.32-431.67,1.14-114.17 and 7.02-702.33 μg/mL(all r> 0.996),respectively. The average recoveries were 100.61%,100.40% and 99.22%,and RSDs were all less than 2.00%. RSDs of precision(n=6),stability(24 h,n=7)and repeatability (n=6)were all less than 2.00%. The average contents of the three components in 10 batches were 623.3,152.1,1 213.9 μg/mL(RSD<10.00%),respectively. CONCLUSIONS In this study , HPTLC method of one-plate multi-drug is established for the identification of Jizhi syrup. One sample pretreatment method and two TLC conditions are used to realize the rapid identification of five kinds of medicinal materials. An HPLC method is established to determine the content of Jizhi syrup ,which realizes the fast quantification of three active components in Jizhi syrup ,and can be used to optimize the identification and content determination items in the existing legal quality standards of Jizhi syrup.
