		                        			Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignancies and is a major cause of cancer-related mortalities worldwide (Forner et al., 2018; He et al., 2023). Sarcopenia is a syndrome characterized by an accelerated loss of skeletal muscle (SM) mass that may be age-related or the result of malnutrition in cancer patients (Cruz-Jentoft and Sayer, 2019). Preoperative sarcopenia in HCC patients treated with hepatectomy or liver transplantation is an independent risk factor for poor survival (Voron et al., 2015; van Vugt et al., 2016). Previous studies have used various criteria to define sarcopenia, including muscle area and density. However, the lack of standardized diagnostic methods for sarcopenia limits their clinical use. In 2018, the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP) renewed a consensus on the definition of sarcopenia: low muscle strength, loss of muscle quantity, and poor physical performance (Cruz-Jentoft et al., 2019). Radiological imaging-based measurement of muscle quantity or mass is most commonly used to evaluate the degree of sarcopenia. The gold standard is to measure the SM and/or psoas muscle (PM) area using abdominal computed tomography (CT) at the third lumbar vertebra (L3), as it is linearly correlated to whole-body SM mass (van Vugt et al., 2016). According to a "North American Expert Opinion Statement on Sarcopenia," SM index (SMI) is the preferred measure of sarcopenia (Carey et al., 2019). The variability between morphometric muscle indexes revealed that they have different clinical relevance and are generally not applicable to broader populations (Esser et al., 2019).

2.Association between the ratio of dietary vitamin A to body weight and hypertension in children

		                        			Objective:
		                        			To explore the relationship between the ratio of dietary vitamin A (VitA) to body weight and hypertension among children, so as to provide a reference for blood pressure control through dietary nutritional interventions and childhood hypertension prevention.
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			Utilizing the baseline survey and followup sample data from the Healthy Children Cohort established in urban and rural areas of Chongqing from 2014 to 2019, structured quantitative dietary questionnaire and selfdesigned questionnaire were used to investigate the information of dietary intake and socioeconomic characteristics of 15 279 children, as well as blood pressure, height, weight measurement. The ratio of dietary VitA to body weight was divided into four groups based on quartiles [≤P25(Q1), >P25~P50(Q2), >P50~P75(Q3), >P75(Q4)]. Generalized linear regression models and Logistic regression models were used to analyze the correlation between ratio of dietary VitA to body weight with blood pressure levels and prevalence of hypertension.
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The results of the 2014 baseline survey indicated that, after adjusting for confounding factors such as demographic indicators and nutritional intake, significant differences were observed in systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and mean arterial pressure (MAP) among different groups categorized by the ratio of dietary VitA to body weight (F=157.57, 44.71, 95.92, P<0.01). The baseline ratio of dietary VitA to body weight in children exhibited a negative correlation with DBP, SBP and MAP at baseline and in 2019[baseline: β(95%CI)=-0.65(-0.89--0.42), -0.22(-0.42--0.01), -0.36(-0.56--0.16); 2019: β(95%CI)=-0.77(-1.34--0.19), -0.62(-1.21--0.02), -0.77(-1.34--0.19), P<0.05]. Compared to Q1 group, the risk of hypertension decreased among children in Q4 at baseline and followup in 2019 [OR(95%CI)=0.63(0.49-0.81), 0.18(0.08-0.42), P<0.01].
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			The ratio of dietary VitA to body weight is significantly negatively correlated with blood pressure levels among children, and dietary VitA deficiency is an independent risk factor for hypertension among children. Measures should be taken to actively adjust childrens dietary nutrition and reduce the risk of childhood hypertension.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
3.Scutellarin inhibitting BV-2 microglia-mediated neuroinflammation via the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of interferon gene pathway

		                        			Objective To explore the effect of scutellarin on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)induced neuroinflammation in BV-2 microglia cells.Methods BV-2 microglia were cultured and randomly divided into 6 groups:control group(Ctrl),cyclic GMP-AMP synthetase(cGAS)inhibitor RU320521 group(RU.521 group),LPS group,LPS+RU.521 group,LPS+scutellarin pretreatment group(LPS+S)and LPS+S+RU.521 group.The expressions of cGAS,stimulator of interferon gene(STING),nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB),phosphorylated NF-κB(p-NF-κB),neuroinflammatory factors PYD domains-containing protein 3(NLRP3)and tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α)in BV-2 microglia were detected by Western blotting and immunofluorescent double staining(n= 3).Results Western blotting and immunofluorescent double staining showed that compared with the control group,the expression of cGAS,STING,p-NF-κB,NLRP3 and TNF-α in BV-2 microglia increased significantly after LPS induction(P<0.05),while the expression of cGAS,STING,p-NF-κB,NLRP3 and TNF-α in LPS+S group were significantly lower than those in LPS group(P<0.05).Treatment with cGAS pathway inhibitor RU.521 showed similar effects as the pre-treatment group with scutellarin.In addition,the change of NF-κB in each group was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Scutellarin inhibits the neuroinflammation mediated by BV-2 microglia cells,which may be related to cGAS-STING signaling pathway.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
4.Research on the health policy of early life:Based on analysis of policy texts of Beijing city

		                        			Objective:This paper mainly discusses the health policy of early life of pregnant women and infants in Beijing as an example,and to provide the basis for policy formulation and optimization.Methods:By using the content analysis method,149 policy texts are divided into two dimensions:policy objectives and policy instruments.The results are described by manual coding,cross analysis and trend analysis.Results:In regard to Policy Objectives,improvement of maternal and child health service levels accounts for the biggest proportion(61.7%),whereas improvement of research level accounts for the least(8.1%).In the four dimensions of policy instruments,mandatory,spontaneous,capacity-building,and incentive tools account for 90%,55%,48%and 42%respectively.According to the trend analysis,integrity of policy system has been continuously improved and the proportion of infant and child care has also increased.Both cross-analysis and trend analysis have showed the strong use of coercive and incentive tools by relevant policies;The use of spontaneous and capacity-building tools is low and decreases over time.Conclusion:Improving the level of maternal and child health services is the core concern of Beijing's early life health policy.However,relatively little attention is paid to the family,infant and child care,and scientific research construction.As for Policy Instruments,mandatory tools are widely used;Incentive Tools and Spontaneous Tools are mainly applied in well-being and soft guidance;insufficient use of Capacity-building Tools.Suggestions:In the future,the policy system should be further improved,which should be targeted and deficiency-mending.It is suggested that more resources should be increased for the family system,more attention should be paid to vulnerable groups early in life,and more financial support should be applied to scientific research on maternal and child health.

		                        			Femoral neck fracture (FNF) in the elderly patients is currently a major health challenge worldwide, with excessive consumption of medical resources, high incidence of complications as well as suboptimal outcome and prognosis. Hip joint arthroplasty (HJA) has been the mainstream treatment for FNF in the elderly, but the conventional surgical approaches and techniques are still confronted with a series of bottlenecks such as dislocation, limp and limb length discrepancy. In recent years, direct anterior approach (DAA) for HJA (DAA-HJA) has been a major new choice in the field of joint replacement, which achieves improved clinical effectiveness of HJA in the treatment of elderly FNF, due to the fact that DAA approach involves the neuromuscular interface and accords with the idea of soft tissue retention and enhanced recovery after surgery. However, there is still a lack of unified understanding of standard technique and procedure of DAA-HJA in the treatment of elderly FNF. Therefore, relevant experts from the Hip Joint Group of Chinese Orthopedics Association of Chinese Medical Association, Youth Arthrology Group of Orthopedic Committee of PLA, Orthopedic Committee of Chongqing Medical Association, Branch of Orthopedic Surgeons of Chongqing Medical Doctor Association and Sport Medicine Committee of Chongqing Medical Association were organized to formulate the " Chinese expert consensus on the technical standard of direct anterior hip arthroplasty for elderly femoral neck fracture ( version 2023)" based on evidence-based medicine. This consensus mainly proposed 13 recommendations covering indications, surgical plans, prosthesis selections, surgical techniques and processes, and postoperative management of DAA-HJA in elderly patients with FNF, aiming to promote standardized, systematic and patient-specific diagnosis and treatment to improve the functional prognosis of the patients.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
6.UPLC-MS/MS Method for Detection of Etomidate and Its Metabolite Etomidate Acid Quantity in Blood.

		                        			OBJECTIVES:
		                        			To establish a method for the simultaneous quantitative analysis of etomidate and its metabolite etomidate acid in blood, and to discuss its application value in actual cases.
		                        		
		                        			METHODS:
		                        			Acetonitrile precipitate protein method was used, and C18 column was selected. Gradient elution was performed with acetonitrile and 5 mmol/L ammonium acetate within 6 min. Electrospray ionization source in positive ion mode was used. The internal standard etomidate acid-d5 was obtained by etomidate-d5 alkaline hydrolysis reaction. Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) was used for quantitative analysis. The methodological verification was conducted.
		                        		
		                        			RESULTS:
		                        			Etomidate and etomidate acid in blood showed good linear relationship in the quantitative linear range (r>0.999), with the lower limit of quantification was 2.5 ng/mL and 7.5 ng/mL, respectively. The accuracy, precision, recovery rate, and matrix effect of the method met the professional verification standards. The practical application results showed that etomidate and etomidate acid could be detected in the blood of the abusers, and their mass concentrations ranged from 17.24 to 379.93 ng/mL.
		                        		
		                        			CONCLUSIONS
		                        			The method established in this study can simultaneously quantify etomidate and etomidate acid in blood, which is simple and convenient to operate with accuracy. It can meet the detection needs of actual cases and provide technical support for law enforcement to crack down on etomidate abuse.

9.Ultrasonic Features and Etiological Analysis of Non-immune Hydrops Fetalis: A Review of 232 Cases in a Single Center

		                        			ObjectivesTo investigate the ultrasound features and etiological distribution of non-immune hydrops fetalis. MethodsA total of 232 cases of diagnosed non-immune hydrops fetalis were recruited from December 2012 to January 2019 in The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. The ultrasound features and the results of prenatal diagnosis of hydrops fetalis were retrospectively analyzed. Results1. Non-immune hydrops fetalis was often associated with TTTS stage Ⅳ (50/232, 21.55%); skin edema (159/232, 68.53%) was the mostly identified fluid collection; the most frequently combined malformations were anomalies of the cardiovascular system (15/232, 6.47%). 2. Totally 185 cases accepted further prenatal genetic test and the abnormal detection rate was 40.54% (75/185), while the abnormal detection rate of chromosome examination (including chromosome karyotype analysis and CMA) was 26.49% (49/185). The abnormal detection rate of isolated NIHF was lower than that of non-isolated NIHF (32.64% vs 68.29%, p< 0.05). Chromosome karyotype analysis was only performed in 57 cases, and abnormalities were detected in 14 cases (24.56%). CMA only was performed in 31 cases and abnormalities were detected in 13 cases (41.94%). Both Chromosome karyotype analysis and CMA were performed in 88 cases. Variation was detected in 22 cases (25%), 3 cases (3.41%) showed abnormalities detected only by Chromosome karyotype analysis, while 6 cases (6.82%) had abnormalities detected only by CMA. The extra detection rate of CMA was 3.41% (3 cases) compared with Chromosome karyotype analysis. Variation was both detected by Chromosomal karyotype analysis and CMA in 13 cases (14.77%). In this study, 30 cases of variation were detected by Chromosomal karyotype analysis (30/145, 20.69%). The most common was 45, X (19/145, 13.10%), followed by 47, XX, + 21 / 47, XY, + 21 (3/145, 2.07%). CMA detected 32 cases of variation, including 12 cases of CNVs (10.08%), 4 of which were pathogenic CNVs (3.36%). Genetic analysis detected abnormalities in 26 of 27 cases. The most common abnormality in gene detection cases was αThalassemia --SEA/--SEA (21/26, 80.77%), followed by PTPN11 gene mutation (2/26,7.69%). 3. The causes of genetically normal NIHF included fetal-maternal blood transfusion, infection and unexplained anemia. ConclusionsThe most common etiology of non-immune hydrops fetalis is TTTS stage Ⅳ and the most frequently associated malformations are cardiovascular system abnormalities in our center. The most common abnormal karyotypes of non-immune hydrops fetalis are 45, X. CMA offers extra detection rate compared with Chromosome karyotype analysis in NIHF. The most common monogenic disease is αThalassemia--SEA/--SEA. 10.Research progress in anti-colorectal cancer mechanism of berberine

		                        			 Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common malignancy burdening people globally, with increasing morbidity and mortality nowadays, due to the alternation in the diet type and lifestyle in modern society. Berberine, a type of benzylisoquinoline alkaloid, is widely present in numerous medicinal plants, particularly including Coptidis Rhizoma. Mounting evidence reveals that berberine possesses an array of pharmacological effects, such as anti-inflammation, anti-bacterium, anti-cancer, anti-diabetes mellitus and so on. In particular, berberine exhibits substantial inhibition on various types of cancers including CRC. Hereby, we sought to systematically review the suppressive effect of berberine on CRC through the diminishment of the proliferation and metastasis, induction of apoptosis, arrest of cell cycle, regulation of inflammatory reaction, the reverse of chemotherapeutic resistance and restoration of gut microbiota in CRC, so as to shed light on the in-depth mechanisms underlying the treatment of CRC with berberine in the clinical setting.
