Objective To verify the accuracy of γ spectrometry by analyzing the results of national interlaboratory comparisons of radionuclide analysis by γ spectrometry from 2018 to 2023. Methods A statistical analysis was conducted on the results from multiple years of participation in the national interlaboratory comparisons of radionuclide analysis by γ spectrometry. The measurement results of radionuclide specific activities in soil were analyzed to provide technical support for improving the capability to analyze radionuclides in soil. Results The laboratory participated in six interlaboratory comparisons and conducted 23 radionuclide analyses by γ spectrometry from 2018 to 2023. The relative deviation was −12.20% to 8.11%, the |Ztest| was 0 to 0.61, the Utest was 0 to 0.62, and the Urel was 0.07 to 0.12. The overall pass rate was 100% and the excellent rate was 33.3%. In addition, 21 of the 23 (91.3%) radionuclide analyses showed full scores in experiment operation. However, the total scores were relatively low due to multiple oversights and lack of rigor in the preparation of the test reports, which prevented the laboratory from qualifying for the excellence evaluation process, resulting in a relatively low excellent rate. Conclusion The interlaboratory comparisons indicate that the measurements of radionuclides in this laboratory were all qualified, with full scores for experiment operation in several analyses. These results demonstrate that the soil radionuclide analysis system based on γ spectrometry is reliable and stable.

With the widespread use of antibiotics, drug-resistant bacterial infections have become a significant threat to human health. Finding new antibacterial strategies that can effectively control drug-resistant bacterial infections has become an urgent task. Unlike small molecule drugs that target bacterial proteins, antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) can target genes related to bacterial resistance, pathogenesis, growth, reproduction and biofilm formation. By regulating the expression of these genes, ASO can inhibit or kill bacteria, providing a novel approach for the development of antibacterial drugs. To overcome the challenge of delivering antisense oligonucleotide into bacterial cells, various drug delivery systems have been applied in this field, including cell-penetrating peptides, lipid nanoparticles and inorganic nanoparticles, which have injected new momentum into the development of antisense oligonucleotide in the antibacterial realm. This review summarizes the current development of small nucleic acid drugs, the antibacterial mechanisms, targets, sequences and delivery vectors of antisense oligonucleotide, providing a reference for the research and development of antisense oligonucleotide in the treatment of bacterial infections.

Objective This study aimed to evaluate whether the onset of the plateau phase of slow hepatitis B surface antigen decline in patients with chronic hepatitis B treated with intermittent interferon therapy is related to the frequency of dendritic cell subsets and expression of the costimulatory molecules CD40,CD80,CD83,and CD86. Method This was a cross-sectional study in which patients were divided into a natural history group(namely NH group),a long-term oral nucleoside analogs treatment group(namely NA group),and a plateau-arriving group(namely P group). The percentage of plasmacytoid dendritic cell and myeloid dendritic cell subsets in peripheral blood lymphocytes and monocytes and the mean fluorescence intensity of their surface costimulatory molecules were detected using a flow cytometer. Results In total,143 patients were enrolled(NH group,n = 49;NA group,n = 47;P group,n = 47).The results demonstrated that CD141/CD1c double negative myeloid dendritic cell(DNmDC)/lymphocytes and monocytes(%)in P group(0.041[0.024,0.069])was significantly lower than that in NH group(0.270[0.135,0.407])and NA group(0.273[0.150,0.443]),and CD86 mean fluorescence intensity of DNmDCs in P group(1832.0[1484.0,2793.0])was significantly lower than that in NH group(4316.0[2958.0,5169.0])and NA group(3299.0[2534.0,4371.0]),Adjusted P all<0.001. Conclusion Reduced DNmDCs and impaired maturation may be associated with the onset of the plateau phase during intermittent interferon therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis B.

To analyze the effect of diagnosis related group(DRG) reform in 2022 and its impact on patients in different departments, and create a policy environment that promotes the implementation of DRG. The data of this study were collected from the database of discharge records of secondary and tertiary hospitals in Beijing, including 1 603 989 discharge records of urban employee medical insurance inpatients. This study constructed a difference in difference model and used the event study method to test the parallel trend assumption. Firstly, the hospital-month level aggregated data was used to analyze the effects of DRG reform on inpatient cost per admission, average length of stay, proportion of patients with 30-day read-mission, proportion of patients with 60-day readmission and the proportion of patients admitted through outpatients. Then, the aggregated monthly data of the departments of internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology and oncology were used to further analyze the influence of DRG reform on the utilization of inpatient services in different departments. DRG reform reduced the inpatient cost per admission by about 9.79% and the length of stay per admission by about 5.35%, but had no significant effect on readmission risk and the proportion of patients admitted through outpatients. It reduced the inpatient cost per admission in the departments of internal medicine, surgery and obstetrics and gynecology, and reduced the length of stay per admission of inpatients in the departments of internal medicine and surgery. However, the reform had no significant effect on the readmission risk and the proportion of patients admitted through outpatients for all the four departments. The DRG reform in Beijing reduced the inpatient cost per admission, but it is necessary to regularly monitor the medical behavior and pay more attention to the role of other payment methods in making up for the deficiencies of DRG. The impact of DRG reform on different departments is varied, so appropriate supportive policies should be formulated to secure the beneficial development of DRG reform.

Objectives:To examine the functional outcomes of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) with preservation of pelvic floor stabilized structure and early elevated retrograde liberation of the neurovascular bundle (PEEL).Methods:This study was a retrospective cohort study. Between June 1, 2022, and March 20, 2023, 27 cases of RARP with PEEL and 153 cases of RARP with preservation of pelvic floor stabilized structure (PPSS) were included in this study. All patients were males, aged (62.5±5.2) years (range: 50 to 73 years). There were 18 cases of ≤T2b stage and 9 cases of T2c stage. After 1∶1 propensity score matching, the postoperative functional outcomes of 27 cases of RARP with PEEL and 27 cases of RARP with PPSS were compared. All surgeries were performed by a single surgeon and included patients were clinically staged as cT1-2N0M0 without preoperative urinary incontinence or erectile dysfunction. In RARP with PEEL, the prostate was cut near the midline at the front when dissecting the neurovascular bundle, dissection was performed between the visceral layer of the pelvic fascia and the prostatic fascia, preserving the parietal layer and the visceral layer of the pelvic fascia, and the neurovascular bundle was retrogradely released from the apex. The cumulative probability curve was plotted using the Kaplan-Meier method and the Log-rank test was used to compare the differences in functional outcomes between the two groups. Univariate and multivariate analysis with the Cox proportional hazards model was used to compare postoperative urinary continence and sexual function. Results:The recovery time of continence and potency was significantly longer in the PPSS group than in the PEEL group (all P<0.05). The continence rate of the PEEL group was significantly higher than that of the PPSS group (92.59% vs. 68.10%, P=0.026) at 3 months after surgery. The potency rate of the PEEL group was also significantly higher than that of the PPSS group (40.70% vs. 15.10%, P=0.037) at 3 months after surgery. In the univariate analysis, compared to the PPSS technique, the PEEL technique was associated with a shorter recovery time of continence ( HR=1.94, 95% CI: 1.08 to 3.48, P=0.027) and a shorter recovery time of potency ( HR=2.06, 95% CI: 1.03 to 4.13, P=0.042). In the multivariate analysis, the PEEL technique was an independent prognosis factor for postoperative recovery of continence ( HR=2.05, 95% CI: 1.01 to 4.17, P=0.047) and potency ( HR=3.57, 95% CI: 1.43 to 8.92, P=0.007). All the cases of the PPSS group and the PEEL group were performed successfully with negative surgical margins. Conclusion:Compared with PPSS, PEEL may be more conducive to the recovery of urinary continence and sexual function after RARP.

Objective:To investigate the current situation and related factors of children's growth and development in drinking-water-borne endemic fluorosis areas after water improvement, and provide a basis for improving the control strategies. Methods:The stratified random sampling method was used to select children aged 7 to 13 in villages with different years of water improvement in Xi'an from November 2019 to June 2020. The height and weight of children were measured, and body mass index (BMI) was calculated. The height development level of children was graded according to the "Standard for Height Level Classification among Children and Adolescents Aged 7 - 18 Years" (WS/T 612-2018), and the physical development (BMI) level of children was determined according to the "Comprehensive Evaluation of Development Level for Children and Adolescents" (GB/T 31178-2014). At the same time, according to the standard of "Diagnosis of Dental Fluorosis" (WS/T 208-2011), the diagnosis of dental fluorosis in children was performed. The serum fluoride level was determined by ion selective electrode method, and the levels of other chemical elements (calcium, iron, magnesium, copper, zinc, iodine, selenium, lead, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, mercury, nickel) in blood were determined by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Results:A total of 469 children were included in the investigation. After water improvement, 67.38% (316/469) of the children in the disease area were at the moderate level of height development, 7.89% (37/469) were at the medium to upper and upper levels, and 24.73% (116/469) were at the medium to lower and lower levels. The BMI of the children in the emaciation group was 8.53% (40/469), while it was 10.87% (51/469) in the overweight group and 8.74% (41/469) in the obesity group. There was statistically significant difference in the distribution of height development level of children in areas with different water improvement years ( P = 0.005), but no statistically significant difference in BMI distribution ( P = 0.154). There was no significant difference in height development level and BMI distribution of children with or without dental fluorosis ( P > 0.05). There were significant differences in serum levels of iron and zinc among children with different height development levels ( P < 0.05). There were significant differences in serum levels of magnesium, copper, iodine and chromium among children with different BMI ( P < 0.05). Conclusion:The growth and development of children in drinking-water-borne endemic fluorosis area after water improvement are not correlated with the prevalence of dental fluorosis, but may be related to the levels of chemical elements such as iron, magnesium, copper, and iodine in the body.
