Objective:To explore the changes in topological attributes of structural covariance network based on cortical thickness and the brain functional activities in patients with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis by graph theory and functional connectivity (FC) analyses, and to investigate whether these changes were correlated to cognitive impairment. Methods:A total of 33 patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis from Department of Neurology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University(patient group) and 35 healthy controls(control group) with matched gender, age, and education were included from July 2018 to November 2021.All subjects received cognitive function assessments, structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging scans.Structural covariance networks were constructed in the two groups based on cortical thickness values and topological characteristics of networks were computed.A non-parametric permutation test which repeated 1 000 times was used to compare the characteristics of the networks between the two groups.Brain regions with abnormal topology were defined as region of interest(ROI), and FC values in global brain level were calculated.SPM 12 and RESTplus were used to identify the brain regions with significant differences in FC values between the two groups. Finally, Spearman correlation analysis between FC values of significant brain regions and cognitive scores were performed by SPSS 24.0.Results:The cognitive score of patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis (27.0(23.5, 28.0)) was lower than that in control group(29.0(27.0, 30.0)) ( Z=-3.029, P=0.002). Graph theory analysis found that the patients showed significantly increased clustering coefficients ( P=0.004) and decreased global efficiency ( P=0.004) compared with healthy controls. Moreover, the nodal efficiency of left ventral posterior cingulate cortex (vPCC) and right dorsal posterior cingulate cortex (dPCC), as well as the nodal degree centrality of left vPCC and left polar planum of superior temporal gyrus (ppSTG) in patient group were significantly decreased ( P<0.05, FDR corrected) compared with control group.FC analysis showed the increased FC values between left vPCC and posterior cerebellum (MNI: x=6, y=-66, z=-21), as well as between left ppSTG and anterior cerebellum (MNI: x=6, y=-54, z=-12) (GRF corrected, voxel level P<0.001, cluster level P<0.05) in patient grooup. The FC values between left vPCC and posterior cerebellum were negatively correlated with the cognitive scores ( r=-0.403, P=0.020). Conclusion:Patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis show abnormal topology of structural covariance network based on cortical thickness and altered FC values, some of which are correlated to cognition and may be the underlying neural mechanism of cognitive impairment in patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2021;23(9):748-753
Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy between femoral neck system (FNS) and inverted cannulated compression screws (ICCS) in the fixation of adult femoral neck fracture. Methods:The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed of the 119 patients with femoral neck fracture who had received FNS or ICCS internal fixation at Department of Traumatic Orthopedics, West China Hospital from September 2019 to June 2020. They were divided into 2 groups according to their internal fixation methods. In the FNS group of 62 patients, there were 38 males and 24 females, with an age of (54.0±13.0) years, and 13 cases of type Ⅱ, 34 cases of type Ⅲ and 15 cases of type Ⅳ according to the Garden classification; in the ICCS group of 57 patients, there were 42 males and 15 females, with an age of (53.2±11.3) years, and 9 cases of type Ⅱ, 33 cases of type Ⅲ and 15 cases of type Ⅳ according to the Garden classification. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, fluoroscopy frequency, hospitalization time, fracture healing time, Harris hip score and incidence of complications were compared between the 2 groups. Results:The 2 groups were comparable due to insignificant differences in their preoperative general data or follow-up duration ( P>0.05). There were significant differences between the FNS and ICCS groups in fluoroscopy frequency [(8.8±2.9) times versus (15.6±3.4) times], operation time [(45.2±10.1) min versus (51.8±11.7) min], fracture healing time [(3.2±0.4) months versus (4.0±0.6) months], Harris hip score at the last follow-up [(91.8±4.4) points versus (84.6±3.3) points], and femoral neck shortening at the last follow-up, favoring the FNS group (all P<0.05). There were no significant differences in follow-up time, hospitalization time, intraoperative blood loss or incidence of complications between the 2 groups ( P>0.05). Conclusions:In the fixation of adult femoral neck fractures, compared with ICCS, FNS can significantly reduce fluoroscopy frequency, shorten fracture healing and operation time, reduce risk of femoral neck shortening and hospitalization time, and promote functional recovery of the hip.

Objective:
To investigate the current status and real performance of the detection of RUNX1-RUNX1T1 fusion transcript levels and WT1 transcript levels in China through interlaboratory comparison.
Methods:
Peking University People’s Hospital (PKUPH) prepared the samples for comparison. That is, the fresh RUNX1-RUNX1T1 positive (+) bone morrow nucleated cells were serially diluted with RUNX1-RUNX1T1 negative (-) nucleated cells from different patients. Totally 23 sets with 14 different samples per set were prepared. TRIzol reagent was added in each tube and thoroughly mixed with cells for homogenization. Each laboratory simultaneously tested RUNX1-RUNX1T1 and WT1 transcript levels of one set of samples by real-time quantitative PCR method. All transcript levels were reported as the percentage of RUNX1-RUNX1T1 or WT1 transcript copies/ABL copies. Spearman correlation coefficient between the reported transcript levels of each participated laboratory and those of PKUPH was calculated.
Results:
①RUNX1-RUNX1T1 comparison: 9 samples were (+) and 5 were (-) , the false negative and positive rates of the 20 participated laboratories were 0 (0/180) and 5% (5/100) , respectively. The reported transcript levels of all 9 positive samples were different among laboratories. The median reported transcript levels of 9 positive samples were from 0.060% to 176.7%, which covered 3.5-log. The ratios of each sample’s highest to the lowest reported transcript levels were from 5.5 to 12.3 (one result which obviously deviated from other laboratories’ results was not included) , 85% (17/20) of the laboratories had correlation coefficient ≥0.98. ②WT1 comparison: The median reported transcript levels of all 14 samples were from 0.17% to 67.6%, which covered 2.6-log. The ratios of each sample’s highest to the lowest reported transcript levels were from 5.3-13.7, 62% (13/21) of the laboratories had correlation coefficient ≥0.98. ③ The relative relationship of the reported RUNX1-RUNX1T1 transcript levels between the participants and PKUPH was not always consistent with that of WT1 transcript levels. Both RUNX1-RUNX1T1 and WT1 transcript levels from 2 and 7 laboratories were individually lower than and higher than those of PKUPH, whereas for the rest 11 laboratories, one transcript level was higher than and the other was lower than that of PKUPH.
Conclusion
The reported RUNX1-RUNX1T1 and WT1 transcript levels were different among laboratories for the same sample. Most of the participated laboratories reported highly consistent result with that of PKUPH. The relationship between laboratories of the different transcript levels may not be the same.

Chinese Medical Journal 2018;131(4):420-425
BackgroundThe aim of the study was to evaluate the long-term safety and efficacy of the Trabectome for Chinese glaucoma patients.
MethodsThis was a multicenter, retrospective, observational study. Glaucoma patients, except those with neovascular glaucoma, with/without a visually significant cataract were enrolled. The patients received Trabectome or a combined surgery with phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation. The primary outcome evaluation was a reduction in intraocular pressure (IOP), and the secondary outcomes were a reduction in glaucoma medication, the 2-year success percentages, and complications. Success was defined as an IOP <21 mmHg and at least a 20% IOP reduction from baseline after 3 months for any two consecutive visits, without additional glaucoma surgery. The data were processed using the R Stats Package version 3.0.0. The Wilcoxon test was used to compare the postoperative IOP and the number of glaucoma medications with baselines. The Kaplan-Meier test was used to calculate the 2-year success percentage. The risk factors related to Trabectome failure were determined by logistic regression.
ResultsA total of 120 glaucoma patients were enrolled. The Trabectome efficiently reduced the IOP from a baseline of 22.8 ± 1.34 mmHg to 17.6 ± 0.96 mmHg, and the use of glaucoma medications from 2.2 ± 0.17 mmHg to 1.4 ± 0.21 in a 2-year follow-up (both, P < 0.01). The overall success percentage was 80%. No risk factor related to Trabectome failure was identified. No vision-threatening complication was observed. Ten patients, who required secondary glaucoma surgery, all reached the target IOP.
ConclusionsIn a 2-year follow-up, Trabectome was an efficient and safe procedure for Chinese glaucoma patients.

National Journal of Andrology 2017;23(6):531-535
Objective:
To investigate the relationship between the serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level and semen parameters.
METHODS:
We collected the data about 726 outpatients at the Male Infertility Clinic of Jinling Hospital from September 2015 to November 2016, including 72 with non-obstructive azoospermia, 123 with oligospermia, and 531 with normal sperm concentration. We obtained the semen volume, total sperm count, sperm concentration, sperm motility, the percentages of progressively motile sperm (PMS) and morphologically normal sperm (MNS), and the levels of serum AMH, inhibin B (INH-B), total testosterone (TT) and follicle - stimulating hormone (FSH) of the patients, analyzed the correlation of the serum AMH level with the other parameters, and compared the AMH level among different groups.
RESULTS:
The serum AMH level was found to be correlated positively with the total sperm count (r = 0.227, P <0.001), sperm concentration (r = 0.215, P <0.001), sperm motility (r = 0.111, P = 0.003), the percentage of PMS (r = 0.120, P = 0.001), and the levels of INH-B (r = 0.399, P <0.001) and TT (r = 0.184, P = 0.002), negatively with the FSH level (r = -0.283, P <0.001), but insignificantly with age, time of abstinence, semen volume, and the percentage of MNS (P >0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in the serum AMH level among the patients with non-obstructive azoospermia, oligozoospermia, and normal sperm concentration ([6.33 ± 4.26] vs [8.26 ± 3.98] vs [9.8 ± 5.19] ng/ml, P <0.001).
CONCLUSIONS
Serum AMH is a biomarker reflecting the function of Sertoli cells and its level is significantly correlated with sperm concentration and motility, suggesting that AMH may be involved in spermatogenesis and sperm maturation.
